2011年流畅英语口语试题

Unit 1 Identity

1. What documents(文件)do you usually use to identify yourself? Student Card or Identity Card

I think it depends on where I am. If I am in our university, I only need to show my student card to identify myself. For example, when I want to do some sports in the gym, I have to register with my student card before I enter the gym. Because it is only free for the students and teachers in our university. But when I go out of the university, student card is not so useful that I have to show my identity card to do something, such as opening a bank account, applying to get the visa and so on.

2. When are you usually asked to show your ID?

On many occasions we all need to use ID to identify ourselves, such as buying train tickets, opening bank accounts, obtaining passport or driver license, applying for national examination to receive higher education and so on.

3. What information does your ID give about you?

Unit 2 Taste

1. What kind of food or drink would you like best?

I like those food with less hot taste, such as shanghai food. Because I can’t eat spicy food, the food will make my skin become bad, for example, spicy hot pot makes my face have acnes. Even though I was born in the north, I love southern food. I think they are really delicious, especially with many kinds of ingredients like sugar, ketchup, sauce, cooking wine and so on. My favorite is fish, and I often have fish here. So you can understand why I choose shanghai to further my study.

2. Describe a special meal or dinner you had. You’d better say:

what you ate?

where you had this meal ?

who you ate with?

and explain why this was a special meal to you.

I think a special meal for me would be the most delicious shanghai food which our tutor treated to us outside of our school. In those days we had been bored with the food in canteen after eating so many times. But you know the price of commodities is so expensive in Shanghai, only the meal in the university is very cheap. If my roommates and I plan to eat out of university, it will cost at least several hundreds yuan for a fairly delicious meal. So we don’t have meals outside of our school. However this meal we don’t need to pay for it. And we really eat the real shanghai food this time, we also had a good time. I think it is really delicious.

Unit 3 Talk

1.What is a conversation?

Before I explain this term, I think we should know what communication is. Because they are so similar that sometimes we may be confused about them

Communication is the activity of conveying meaningful information. It requires a sender, a message, and an intended recipient, but the receiver need not be present or aware of the sender's intent to communicate at the time of communication; thus communication can occur across vast distances in time and space.

However, conversations are social interactions, which require response reactions to what has previously been said and it happens usually unpredictably.

So we can summarize that Conversation is a form of interactive, spontaneous communication between two or more people who are following rules of etiquette.
