(1) The Green Tree Project

In 1996,39 American children started a very in interesting project-the Green Tree Project. The students began the project by gathering walnuts(核桃) in the fall. The nuts were buried(埋) in cages in the school garden in mid-November. (1)In this way, the seeds could be kept cool and moist(潮湿) for several months before they started growing. In February. Do you know why different animals or pests(昆虫) have their special colours? (1)Colours in them seem to be used mainly to protect themselves.

Some birds like eating locusts(蝗虫), but birds cannot easily catch them. Why? (2)It is because locusts change their colours together with the change of tile colours of crops.
