Teaching contents: Part A
Teaching aims:
1. Enable the students toget to know the meaning of“ way, get, along, take, stop, road, street” both in spoken and written forms, and pronounce them clearly.
2.Enable the students to scan the text and find out how did Mr Green ask the way
and how did Yang Ling show the way.
3. Enable the students touse structures like“ Where’ s the⋯ ? Excuse me, can you tell
me the way to⋯ ? How far is it from here?” to ask the way.
4. Enable the students to use structures like“ Go along this street, and then turn⋯ a the⋯ crossing. The⋯ is on your ⋯You can take bus No.⋯ and get off at
the ⋯ stop.” to show the way.
5.To train the students ’ abilities of listening, speaking,readingand
writing. Teaching focus:
1.Understanding the dialogue well and get the details about asking the way and
showing the way.
2.Having the correct way of asking the way and showing the way.
3.Expressing themselves freely.
Teaching difficulties:
1.The pronunciation, meaning and usage of some words, such as“crossing, along,
far, kilometre.”
2.Learn: How to ask the way and show the way in proper ways.

1.Learn the words and sentences patterns: Excuse me, can you tell me the

1.Watch the cartoon and answer the questions.
2.Read the dialogue, underline the sentences and find the right places in the map.
3.Read the dialogue in pairs and act out.
