专八真题作文 Ambition
A saying goes that ”It is ambition that keeps the globe revolving and the world regenerating.”, though I cannot remember it is remarked by whom, it left a deep imprint in my mind. As for me, ambition, together with language, unparalleled intelligence, separates human beings with the animal kingdom. Without ambition, the world would its vitality an decay into a place of spiritual wasteland. First and foremost, ambition spurs us to struggle for the better. A man without ambition cannot be called a true man, instead, he is only a walking skeleton. Ambition results in our ever-lasting and unremitting efforts to achieve the improvement in the standards of living, the better working environment, the higher salaries and so on. With ambition in mind, a man has a clearer picture of what he desires, what his objective is and a greater resolution to attain all his dreams. Secondly, ambition can bring our potential into full play. It is generally acknowledged that human beings have an immense pool of potentialities, so we need something to help us exploit them. Ambition, thus, plays such a role: it could arouse the enterprising spirit in the bottom of our hearts, which, in turn, stimulates our hidden abilities. Before blaming ourselves for not having abilities of this or that sort, we should first ask ourselves whether we have any clear ambition in our minds. Such kind of self-enquiry may help you know clear what your ambition is and make things you thought to be impossible come true. Finally, ambition can help us realize our dreams and values. As a kind of social animal, we human beings must do something that is welcomed or acclaimed by the society to achieve our real essence of existence. Though it is far from possible that ambition alone can results in success or realization of dreams, ambition could pave the way to success for you. Ambition, when coupled with uns
werving determination, painstaking efforts and down-to-earth manner, will surely lead us to meet our goals. It is mention-worthy that ambition is the core of so many elements in bringing your dreams come true. From the above discussion, we may easily conclude that everyone must bear his ambition in mind, no matter how lofty or trivial the wish may be, as long as it is practical and we apply down-to-earth manner in our attempts to realize the goal, our ambitions are bond to blossom and bring us a bumper harvest when they yield fruits. Interview
As a senior college student, we’re facing with graduation and job-hunting in no more than 3 months. Thus, in our spare time of study, we often think about the ways to handle all the procedures in job-hunting: selecting appropriate and suitable employers, sending our applications, preparing for interviews. Among all the procedures, it is undeniable that interview is the most difficult but significant procedure to handle. However difficult it may be, I still regard interview as an dispensable procedure to choose the right employees. My reasons are as follows. Firstly, as for employers, interview is a good way to sort out the best applicants. Through communication person to person, employers can easily distinguish whether the applicants are suitable for the post or not. They can judge it from their words, behavior, demeanor or attitude. Interviews act as a great sifter by which the good applicants are reserved and these inferior are sorted out. Secondly, as for employees-to-be, interview is a great arena to show your ability and to impress the job-suppliers. Seizing the chance, interviewees can show the employers how excellent they are, how eloquent they are, what kind of edge do you have on your competitors. As long as you prepare well for the interview, you can confidently answer the questions raised cleverly and fluently, and without doubt the job is almost in your hands. Thirdly, as for those relatively introverted job seekers, interviews can also of great value to them. Perhaps you may ask:” These introverted people are always shy, they can be so nervous that their face may turn red, and their bodies may even shudder when the interview kicks in. They stand a fat chance of getting an edge in interviews, why should you say they could benefit from interviews?” That’s true to some extent, but if looking from another angle, we may find that interviews provide them great opportunities to train themselves to be talkative. After weathered several times of misery and disappointment, these shy people may learn to become sociable. So there introverted ones should never frown at engaging in interviews for it is a necessary procedure for self- improvement. From what we’ve mentioned above, we can easily see that interview is useful and beneficial to employers as well as candidate employees, no matter he is outgoing or shy. Since interview is an unavoidable and fairly importan
t procedure in selecting appropriate employee, we should take it seriously and make a comprehensive preparation for it. Only by doing so can we land a decent job successfully. (421 words)

Should University Students Go In for Business?
Nowadays, there emerged a heated discussion concerning the attitude we should take towards the phenomenon that university students of increasing number are devoting themselves to business. Some thought that the students business experience would help them adapt better to the society after graduation, while others held a negative view, saying that running shops might occupy too much of the students’ time and energy which should be devoted to their academic study. I’m in favor of the latter, for I think the disadvantages of going for business of university students outweigh those advantages it may bring. In the following context I am to make my argument convincing by elaborating on my 3 reasons. First things first, we should keep in mind that it is our top priority to study and accumulate as much as possible in our 4 years in college. Academic study is a guarantee of our future career and paves the way to our potential success. Engaging ourselves in business requires us to spare a huge amount of time and energy that should be used for our studies, and as a result, we may ruin our studies in the process. Going in for business is not sensible for college students as it may deprive us of chances to study and better occupation in the future. Besides, college students are often not well-prepared, psychologically and emotionally, to engage in business. It is often said that the circle of business resembles a battlefield. The competition there may be so fierce that collegians can hardly adapt to it. It is also true that businessmen are of various characters and temperament, so it becomes very difficult for those inexperienced and unsophisticated college students get along with them well, let alone make friends with them or make a big money. Moreover, college students are not financially suitable to explore the business circle. There is no denying that going in for business needs a huge imput of money, which is something most college students lack. It is impossible to establish a business without a decent financial imput. Even if someone has such money, he still stands a fat chance of making success in business, since he may lack in the skills of money management to bring his money into full play or to invest his money rationally or proportionately. From what has been discussed above, we can safely reach to the conclusion that it is irrational and unnecessary for university students to go in for business. Instead, university students should bear in mind that study is their priority during their college life. Only when they’re academically, financially and emotionally mature can they attempt to engage themselves in business and stand a chance of success. (449 words)

Education as a L
ifelong Process
It is a question frequently being asked that” What indeed distinguishes human beings from the animal kingdom?” Our response to this may vary with our own understandings. Some people may give the answer of the ability of thinking and reasoning, some think the sense of love makes man different, but as in my mind, education is a unique human activity that makes human beings stand out in the animal kingdom. Imagine that without the practice of education, how can we pass down human’s precious knowledge, how can we get ourselves with our ancestor’s history. Since education is so vital, it is our responsibility to engage in receiving education as much as we can, so we need to regard education as a lifelong process. The first kind of education is what we get at school. We attend classes, learn theoretical knowledge which we may apply into practical use when we grow up and enter the society. It is the fundamental education that we get in the first stage of our lifelong learning process. The education we receive at this stage lay the foundation on which we can further build our goals and dreams after our graduation from university. Education of the second stage is what we receive after we enter the society. We listen to the direction of skilled and sophisticate workers and follow suit; we endeavor to shoulder our responsibility by admitting the mistakes we’ve committed; we learn to improve ourselves after we do some things wrong or imperfectly; we try to teach ourselves new tricks which is needed at work. This kind of education can help us adapt to the society, improve our social skills and increase the possibility of a successful career. Another education worth mentioning is what we learn after our retirement. We need to learn by ourselves the way to relax ourselves after so many years of stressful and hard work; we should learn to enrich our lives in a relatively quiet and idyllic way; we need to learn many things which may help us enjoy our remaining years in a pleasant and rich way. Education, as a feature differentiates humanity from animals, serves as an indispensable guide and friend for us ever since the cradle to the grave. We should never could-shoulder this teacher of our all and remember to make him our lifelong companion. Finally, I’d like to conclude this essay with a maxim of mine:” If you want to survive in the modern society, keep on learning.” (414 words)

Competition or Cooperation
Competition and cooperation are 2 key elements that push human society forward. Wherever people live, competition and cooperation always appear cheek by jowl: they exist not only between different people, different companies, but also between different regions and even countries. Both of them are indispensable to the progress of the whole world, so it puts me into a dilemma in selecting which one to be more important. In my mind’s eye, competition and cooperation, both possessing unique characteristic
s and values, could complement each other. First things first, competition serves as a significant and necessary stimulus to the social progress, thus it can never be neglected. As a feature of modern society, competition gives area for people, companies or countries to demonstrate their achievements and their superiority over others. Though some inferior ones are eliminated in the process of competition, those who survive will benefit very much in the competition and will forge ahead with greater confidence. “The law of the jungle” is cruel, though it spurs us to learn more and cultivate our temperament to excel others, encourages companies to introduce modern technology to revitalize themselves and urges countries to strengthen their national defense and better their infrastructure. Besides, cooperation is also indispensable in that it is a component that helps people share their achievements with each other. With cooperation in mind, people are eager to help others out of troubles, companies can share their technological advances with one another, and countries can draw each other’s merits to offset their own shortcomings. Cooperation, thus, leads to a caring and harmonious society with each member attach importance to mutual benefits and win-win situation. Finally, with competition and cooperation supplement each other, a better result can be achieved. Too much fierce competition may lead our society to be a cruel place and makes some people, company or country fall victims to competition, while too much cooperation may make someone rely excessively on others and forget to make achievements by paddling his own canoe. Therefore, with cooperation and competition combined, one can strive for his/her own place in the society with both a competitive mind and the help from others. The above analysis can easily leads us to the conclusion that competition and cooperation are both vital in society and cannot be neglected. They are as important as each other since they play different roles and give distinct impetus to the progress of the modern society. (403 words)

Sowing the Seeds, Nurturing Growth & Harvesting the Rewards
As the title suggests:”Rewards can only be achieved by arduous efforts in sowing the seeds and painstakingly nurturing growth of the seedlings”, no gain will be attained if no pain is endured. This is a universally acknowledged truth as for farming. But the same goes with the study in university: By attending lectures listening to teachers intently and taking notes, we sow the seeds of knowledge into our minds; by reviewing the notes and turning over what the teachers has taught in our minds and doing after-class assignments as required, we nurture the growth of our knowledge; and by using the knowledge we’ve accumulated to pass an exam, win credits or certificates and applying them in work after graduation, we get a bumper harvest brought by our knowledge. As the first and most critical phase of le
arning, sowing the seeds of knowledge should be given greatest emphasis. Since classes and lectures are the major channels through which we gain knowledge, we should attend them punctually and refrain from playing truants. While the teacher is imparting the invaluable knowledge, we must listen carefully and take notes on important points. A common saying goes, listening carefully in class will help you better than studying on your own after class triple the time, so we should cherish each and every minute in class and grasp as much knowledge as we can. Secondly, after class, we should review what we’ve learned in class and do relevant exercises until we internalize these knowledge. If we do not review the knowledge that has been inculcated to us and make further ponder on them, no matter how attentive we listened to our teachers or how much note were take down, chances are that we would never turn these knowledge into our own. This process is as important as the watering and fertilizing the seedlings: without water and nourishment, the seedling can never grow into a mature tree and yield any fruit. Thus, without further cultivation on the knowledge we've learned after class, the knowledge can hardly take a deep root in our heart and will gradually die out. Finally, after so much delicate care and precious time spared in sowing the seeds, nurturing growth, we come to the jubilant and long-expected time of harvest. We pass the exams and win certificates or accreditations with our knowledge and are finally offered a decent and well-paid job: The tree of knowledge finally blossom and yield a bumper harvest and all our onerous efforts pay off at last. To conclude, the study in university accords with the proverb ”As you sow, so will you reap”, we should never spare any efforts in learning as long as we expect a bright future, because a promising future is made up of sowing and constant nurturing. 热点校园话题作文 We Should Be Granted the Right to Live Off Campus
Nowadays, living off campus is growing in popularity among college students to meet their own needs of various sorts in spite of the bans of most universities on this practice. Inevitably, with the emergence of this phenomenon, discussions concerning whether colleges should lift their bans are everywhere to be heard on campus across the country. Opposition voices point to the possible dangers and heavier expenditure of living off campus. Supporters, on the other hand, maintain that the advantages-i.e. a better environment for learning, protected privacy, etc. - far outweigh the disadvantages. After weighing personally and seriously the pros and cons of living off campus, I have to admit that I side with the latter. In the following context, I am to make my standpoint convincing by elaborating on 3 reasons of mine. First and foremost, living off campus can avoid many problems and suffering brought about by sharing a dormitory with others. There ca
n be no denying that students in the same dormitory may of different temperaments and interests, which in turn, may arouse misunderstandings, discord or even conflicts under some conditions. Music enthusiasts may play their favorite music aloud while other dormitory members intend to take a nap; good natured people may fall victims to those hot-tempered ones when they fly into a rage; strong and tall bully may mock at those who are inferior in height and weight. All of these sow the seeds of inharmony and, however, can be evaded of we live off campus separately. Next comes the academic pursuit. Living off campus offers you a greater opportunity to realize your academic goal since it creates a quiet and undisturbed environment for learning. We can often hear students complaining that they can hardly study in dormitories since other dorm members may watch movies, chew the fat or play computer games in high volume which make it impossible for them to further their academic pursuit. Therefore, living off campus is a better alternative since you can save the time of commuting from dorm to classroom or library by learning in the flat or apartment that you rented where nobody can bother you. Finally but no less profoundly, living off campus grants you a haven of privacy. It goes without saying that everyone possesses some secrets and is in demand of some degree of privacy. However, dormitory fails to provide such kinds of need since dorm members spend most of their time together. Thus, if you really yearn for privacy, you may resort to living off campus to secure the small world that belongs exclusively to you. Judging from the reams of evidence stated above, we may reasonably arrive at the conclusion that living off campus grants more benefits to collegians that living in dormitory. So we do think that it is advisable for the university authorities to lift their bans on living off campus in order to secure the various needs of students. (486 words)

Interest Should Come First In Choosing A Major
With the intensification of competition for employment between university graduates, many college-students-to-be are hesitating over whether job opportunities or interests shou come first in choosing a major. Those who hold the opinion that job opportunities should be the first priority argue that job opportunity is the ultimate goal of attending university and it is unreasonable to satisfy one’s interest at the cost of promising job prospect. Other people, however, contend that interest is more important than job opportunity since it is the guarantee of academic success, which in turn, paves way for the career success. After weighing up both seriously and reasonably, I must admit that I am on the side of the latter. In the following context, I am to make my standpoint reasonable and argument convincing by elaborating on my reasons. First and foremost, interest is a guarantee of both our academic and career success. As is often quoted, le
arning without interest is like sailing without wind. Interest acts as the motive power and incentive in our studies, without which we can hardly find what we are learning attractive and lose heart in our academic pursuit. People learning with an interest on the subject often have a strong desire for knowledge and a clear sense of orientation: they know what his goal is and interest urges him to strive for the goal constantly. On the other hand, if a student pursues a major that promises a good job opportunity but not interests him, he may refuse to learn the knowledge and can hardly achieve anything academically. If this is the case, the student still won’t be able to get a satisfactory job since his performance is far from being outstanding and can hardly impress the employers. Moreover, interest makes you find the happiness in learning and helps you maintain your enthusiasm. With interest towards what you are learning, you’ll never find the subject boring or insipid. You’ll be so eager in study that you are not willing to miss a single lecture; you’ll ask your teachers questions about those things that you don’t understand; you’ll spend most of your time after class on revising what you’ve learned or previewing what you are going to learn. In this way, interest underlies your success. Even if you failed in tests or met upsets on the way of your academic pursuit, interest will help you keep your confidence and enthusiasm alive and prepare you for another attempt. Judging from the reams of evidence stated above, we may reasonably arrive at the conclusion that interests, rather than job opportunities, should come first in deciding a major. Interest is the best nutritive for our academic studies with which the flower of our dream can blossom lively and yield a bumper harvest. (458 words)

Which Is More Important for A College Student, His Studies or Social Practice? In the present-day society, college students have more opportunities to engage in various social activities than before. With the hope to improve their social experience and pave the way for future career, collegians of increasing numbers devote themselves to social practice. However, with their emphasis incorrectly put many have trouble balancing between their studies and their social practice, and some even skip classes to find time for the latter. In my mind’s eye, it is absolute irrational and unnecessary to sacrifice our learning time for social practice. In the following context, I am to elaborate on my reasons to make argument convincing. First things first, it is our top priority to study rather than carrying out social practice in college. As generally acknowledged, college is an ivory tower where we can best acquire knowledge with the help of eminent professors and outstanding peers. Provided that we let this precious opportunity of study goes by, chances are that we can hardly catch up by study on our own. Study is important also because it f
urnishes us with the necessary knowledge which may be needed in fulfilling both social practice and future career. It can be easily imagined that , without decent education and knowledge, we can hardly find ourselves competent for any social practice or anticipatedoccupation. Besides, social practice requires a huge amount of time and energy input, which can seldom be affordable by college students. Even if a student has so much time and energy to do social practice, whether the gains or social experience the student achieved worth his input is still in question. As far as I am concerned, we should contribute most of our energy and time to our study, which will ensure us of a considerable and proportionate output in the future. However, on the contrary, social practice calls for a great input while yields less benefit than what you deserve. Moreover, whether social practice can prepare you for your future career is also in question. The social practice college student are capable to cope with are rather limited, since they’re still academically and socially immature. Take a Marketing Major for example, social practice as a home tutor or pamphleteer can hardly help him to acquaint him with his future job under such circumstance. He may as well resist his idea of engaging in social practice and stick to his academic responsibility. From what has been discussed above, we can safely arrive at the conclusion that study is more important that social practice as for a college student. However, I don't mean that social practice is by no means important, it is of secondary importance only after studies. So with a proper proportion of time allotted to studies and social practice respectively, a college student can better achieve the goal of comprehensive development. (468 words)

Limitations of Book Knowledge
As is known to all, Chinese students usually attach great importance to book knowledge, while their western counterparts often give more weight to the potential utilization of the knowledge they acquired. However, there arises a growing concern over the limitations of book knowledge in many Chinese people and the emphasis on book knowledge is reduced to a great extent. In my mind’s eye, book knowledge is limited for the 3 following reasons. First and foremost, book knowledge can hardly upgrade our critical thinking and problem solving ability until it is integrated and reinforced by practice. Just as the famous British historian has once artistically put it,”Knowledge is a treasure, but practice is the key to it”, book knowledge is valuable if you’re in possession of it, but if you are blind to the ways to put your knowledge into practice and bring it into full use, it is no better than not having the treasure. Therefore, in the meanwhile we accumulate book knowledge, we must also attach due importance to the practice of it. Only in this way can the knowledge we possess take a root deep in our heart and bring us benefit
s. Besides, in some case, book knowledge may be incorrect or biased and, thus, misleading. With the publishing industry flourishing in the whole world, books published nowadays are of unprecedented scale and on the rise constantly. This may seem to be heartening news to us since we have more books and information for our reference. However, this is only part of the picture. A careful observation may lead us to find out that many books published nowadays are of inferior quality to those published in the past due to the negligence of both author and publisher and the looser restrictions on book publishing. As a result, we must give it a second thought and verify the credibility of the information in the books before we integrate the information into our bank of knowledge. Lastly but no less profoundly, book knowledge may not be applicable to each reader or satisfy everyone’s needs. It is a known fact that everyone in the society is of distinct personality and have his own reasoning. The opinions discussed in a book that was favored by a considerable amount of readers may fall into collision with your beliefs. Thus, you need not to take in whatever the books hold to be true and may as well stand your own ground. The reams of evidence stated above points directly to the limitations of book knowledge, which, however, can be compensated by being practical-minded, scrupulous and incredulous and holding to your own ground. With all these criteria in mind, you’ll bring all the book knowledge you’ve amassed into full play and gain the maximum benefit from it. (462 words)

It Is Impossible to Rule out the Use of Chinese Totally in English Classes In the present-day society, as China is integrating more closely into the whole world and the competition is becoming increasingly intense, learning foreign languages, English in particular, is growing in popularity. Many people learn English in the hope of keeping pace with the times and getting promotions. As a result, how to teach English has aroused great concern across our country. Inevitably, the question whether it is advisable to use Chinese in English classes or not is also under heated discussion. From my point of view, it is impossible for us to totally ban the assistance of our mother tongue in the foreign language study. The first reason for my standpoint is that Chinese-free English learning environment may not be suitable for beginners. Since beginners possess rather limited English vocabulary or language points, it is often impossible for them to understand the explanation in English of the teacher without any help of Chinese. In the worst case, such method of English teaching may frustrate English learners, those without a good command in English in particular, simply because they couldn’t grasp what the teacher is talking about and their interest and enthusiasm for English would gradually wither. Besides, Chinese is needed to explain English words in a more easy and time-s
aving manner. As is known to all, some words are hard to define without the help of native language. For instance, how could you define “water” in English? You may say “it is a kind of transparent fluid that we need in order to quench your thirst”. Then what about tea, beer, liquor or orange juice, etc.? Don’t they also fit in with this definition? You can hardly give a definite interpretation to such kind of English words. Even if you can, chances are that many students will be at a sea at the complicated definition. So why put yourself into such a dilemma when there is a better way to follow? You can easily resort to Chinese counterpart of “water”, i.e. 水 (shui), to explain it, which can not only save your time and energy but also help your pupils out of confusion. Lastly but no less profoundly, Chinese, if wisely and properly used in English classes, is conducive to improving students’ translation skills. Since a bilingual English-learning atmosphere enables a teacher to explain one thing in both Chinese and English, thus, students can learn from their teachers the differences between both languages in conveying the same meaning and the best translation tactics in tackling sentences of various patterns. Judging from the reams of evidence presented above, we may reasonably arrive at the conclusion that we should not and could not abandon the use of Chinese in English classes. However, Chinese should be harnessed correctly and appropriately to obtain the best result of English teaching. (465 words)

Should A Formal Distance Be Kept Between College Students And Teachers? When my eyes caught this topic, my mind quickly began its search for the merits and shortcomings of keeping a formal distance between college students and teachers. After turning over this question in my mind for a few minutes, I reached my answer in a definite manner: keeping a formal distance between the two brings more disadvantages than advantages. So I advocate that college students and teachers gap the formal distance keeping them apart. Firstly, a formal distance keeps students away from teachers and makes students unable to form a close-knit relationship with their teachers. It’s a common phenomenon that if a teacher is amicable and approachable, students are more likely to learn devotedly the specific course that he or she teaches. But on the contrary, if a teacher is difficult to get along with or push the students too hard, chances are that the students would have no interest in his/her course. A close relationship between teachers and students helps create a sound atmosphere for learning in class and motivate the students to learn more. The students are willing to ask teachers for help when they are in academic troubles if they have an intimate relationship with their teachers. The inclination to raise questions will surely help them achieve academic success. Secondly, a close teacher-student tie may also benefit the teacher. A com
mon saying goes that “A disciple of yours may be your teacher in some other fields.” Students may surpass their teacher in such areas as computer competence, fashion trend, understanding of the modern world, etc. So a close relationship may help teachers get in touch with their students more easily and get some useful information from them. By doing so, a teacher can also upgrade his/her popularity among his/her students. Last but not the least, an intimate relationship between teachers and students also help change the old concept of teachers. It is a reality that, when we talk about the profession of teacher, almost everyone of us may come up with the same stereotype of teacher in our minds: a seriously-looking and unapproachable man/woman wearing a pair of glasses who often wander around the classroom with his/her hands crossed behind his/her back when teaching. An intimate may help change this stereotyped image of teachers into an amicable, approachable and understanding soul mate or bona fide of students. From what I’ve mentioned above, we may safely arrive at the conclusion that a distance between teachers and students can do much more bad than good. So, let us, teachers and students together, make joint efforts to create a close relationship between us which can be beneficial to both of us. (441 words)

Anticipated Problems after Graduation from Colleges
Since we are now junior college students, there only exists a short period before we graduate from the college. Thus, it is both necessary and important for us to figure out what problems we may encounter in the near future and, in turn, make preparations to overcome these problems. As for me, anticipated problems after our graduation from college mainly include insufficient self-understanding, incompetence and incorrect attitude towards job application: There are very few students in China ever trying to understand themselves. Since the age of seven, most students are taught to care about nothing but only to study hard for the best scores and the best schools. That is usually because most teachers and parents regard academic background as the most important thing in the world. Students seldom have the freedom in choosing what they really like, just as a pathetic puppet with his strings hold in their parent’s and teacher’s hands. Thus, chances are that some students never try to understand what they really like or what they want. As a result, after their graduation, they're not sure if they’d like to further their study for advanced knowledge or step into the society and apply for a job. Also, the lack of self-understanding makes it difficult for them to choose a job they truly want to partake of, which poses great problems for these students as well. Due to the education system in China mentioned above, most students attach excessive importance to their academic achievements yet ignored the significance of other beneficial activities which could make them
perfect. However, they spend almost all their time on academic study, which deprived their time on interpersonal communications, applying their knowledge into practical use. We know that academic achievements are important, but employers also high values the personality, eloquence, willingness for cooperation and many other things when they are selecting their future employees from their candidates. It is the incompetence in these respects often becomes hindrance to some person from getting a satisfactory job. It is also worth mentioning their incorrect attitude towards job application. Since most people take academic background as the most important thing in the world, graduating from the college means they are somewhat superior to other people, so they’re supposed to have much better chances to get a job with fabulous title and handsome salary. However, academic background is far from being the most significant element which can bring us good jobs. It is sometimes common in China that some people refuse to apply for jobs which they think not good enough, but when they apply for more acceptable jobs, they are told that they’re unqualified for these jobs. On the flip side, China is a country with a huge population, thus, they should undergo intense competitions with a large number of graduates, so they’re facing an even greater barricades in getting a job. To surmount these problems we may also encounter in the future, we should first resort to self-improvement. It is beyond doubt that we should attach importance to our academic competence, but at the same time, we must also bear in mind that we need to improve our moral and ethic quality, ability of applying our knowledge into practical use, as well as, ability of cooperation and interpersonal communication. We should also uplift our self-understanding. It is essential for us to remember that it is ourselves who could determine our lives and future, so we should have ideas and thoughts of our own, adhere to the path

which we believe could leads us to success. In addition, we should set practical and attainable goals in applying for jobs, because we all know that it is quite difficult to find a satisfactory job nowadays, we should therefore be down-to-earth, start from petty jobs, get promotions and realize our lofty goals ultimately. Pressures on College Students
“College life is so relaxed and carefree that collegians hardly shoulder any responsibility or pressure.” This is a common view that many people bear in mind. However, the fact is quite a different case. Although it is beyond doubt that we lead a comparatively leisure and joyous life in college, we still have something bothers and vexes us. After all, college is far from being our Arcadia which shelters us from all the troubling and boring matters. The main factors that exert pressure on college students are: First and foremost, academic pressure imposed. In China, a countr
y that put too much emphasis on study and academic achievements, it is generally acknowledged that studying diligently is the primary obligation of students and high scores are the ultimate goals of them. Thus, we’ve no choice but to study assiduously. Although the academic burden of college students is somewhat lighter than that of middle school students or postgraduates, we still need to spend a considerable amount of time to achieve these required certificates for us, such as TEM-4 and NCRE-1 (National Computer Rank Examination Level-1), etc. In the meantime, we should also study wholeheartedly to guarantee that we can pass all the final examinations at the end of each semester. Furthermore, it is necessary for us to learn as much relevant knowledge as possible to uplift our comprehensive ability to make us more competent and outstanding and facilitate our job-hunting. Second, job-hunting pressure exerted. These days when students could find satisfactory job easily after their graduation are gone forever. As China is becoming an increasing more populous country whose universities are constantly expanding their scale of enrollment, that status quo of college students’ employment is graver than ever. Students nowadays often satirically refer graduation to joblessness, therefore this situation brook no negligence. In order to get a job, graduates need to undergo an intense competition with both other graduates and laid-off workers. As a result, many relatively incompetent graduates could hardly thread their way through this torture and attain a fine job. Thus, it is essential for us to learn our curriculum well and raise our ability in adopting what we’ve learned into practical use. In addition, financial pressure experienced. It is a pressure that bothers some of my friends instead of me. As for me, we students have not real financial pressure, because as long as we used up our money, we can simply make a telephone call to ask our parents to remit another sum of money. To ask for money is not a problem, but to ask for money frequently is quite a different thing. Those who often complain that they’re “in a financial crisis” are always the ones who spend their money extravagantly when they are in possession of it. We should never squander our money in view of that our parents would unconditionally give us money when we’re in need of it. We should always bear in mind that it’s a must to lead a thrifty life in college to reduce our parents’ economic burden to our best. However, although we are facing so many kinds of pressures in our college life, most of us deal with them in a proper manner. I’m fully convinced that as long as we take an optimistic viewpoint towards these pressures, we can cope with all these pressure perfectly. (557 words)

热点社会话题作文 Money and Happiness: How Tight the Bond?
In the present-day society, people of increased number are of the opinion that money can buy everythin
g and is capable of bringing us happiness. So they exert themselves to earn as much money as possible to ensure their sense of “happiness”. But is that really the case? The answer is an absolute no. Too much money or excessive eager to earn money may seriously erode your cornerstone of happiness. In the following context I am to elaborate on my 3 reasons to make my argument convincing. First and foremost, the concept of “money talks” or “money is omnipotent” is indubitably wrong. Though money can assure you of many things such as a superior living standard, a better working environment or an access to high-quality medical service and modern clinic facilities, it can by no means guarantee your happiness. Happiness is a state of mind, nothing but your own mind can decide whether you are happy or not. It is a common fact that many rich people may lead a miserable and pessimistic life while some poverty-stricken ones live happily and contentedly. Besides, too much emphasis on wealth may pose you to a misery struggle for more and more money. It’s very common nowadays that some people abandon their holidays, friends and even families to work wholeheartedly to earn extra money, which may result in family discord, divorce and, in the worst case, death from over-fatigue. It is money that makes them push themselves so hard as to lose their happiness. As a common saying goes, a content mind is a perpetual feast, we need to put proper emphasis on money, only in that case can wealth be an assurance of our happiness. Over-emphasis on money not only cannot guarantee our happiness, but also may deprive us of our happiness that were in our possession. Moreover, as for windfall or jackpot, money may also forebode a disaster. I remember noticing these reports in newspapers that money earned in drawing lot, not being kept in secret, brought mishap to the prize-winner: rogues blackmailed the lottery winner or kidnapped their children for the sake of money, which sometimes resulted in death when the needs of those criminals were not satisfied. Even if these things are uncommon to be seen, family members may bicker over how to spend that huge sum of money and, in turn, family disorder may arise, then happiness is also ruined. From what has been discussed above, we may safely arrive at the conclusion that money is by no means a guarantee of happiness. Happiness can only be achieved by a right sense towards life and a contented mind. However, happiness can be upgraded by wealth, only if we hold a correct attitude towards money and lay due emphasis on it. (461 words)

Fireworks Shouldn’t Be Allowed for Spring Festival Celebration
In China, a tradition that is passed down generation after generation is the practice of using firecrackers to celebrate the Chinese Spring Festival. However, taking the fact that firecrackers often cause safety and environmental problems in to consideration, many people suggest that fireworks should be aband
oned for safety’s sake, once and for all. People who favor the time-honored tradition, on the other hand, argue that fireworks are an indispensable part in celebrating Chinese Spring Festival, without which the festive spirit and jubilant ambience would be greatly reduced. From my point of view, I personally agree with the opinion that fireworks should be banned from spring festival celebration. In the following context I am to make my argument convincing by elaborating on my 3 reasons. First and foremost, fireworks are a kind of hidden threat to people’s safety. We are liable to hear fire accidents caused by firecrackers in the spring festival, firstly because firecrackers, if not handled correctly or at the right place, may cause fire accidents easily, secondly because some firecrackers of inferior quality are more likely to make us victims to them. That’s exactly why major cities in China has already completely or partially banned the use of firecrackers. For the sake of safety, we should think twice before we light a firecracker. What’s more, fireworks could pose us some environment problems. It cannot be denied that the prior problem it may cause is the noise pollution. Though it is a common practice to let off firecrackers in the mid-night at the turn of years, it may bother some people who intend to sleep at that moment or awake those who are already in sleep. Besides, firecrackers may also give rise to air pollution and water pollution. Firecrackers may give out some chemicals that may harm people’s health into the air when they explode, and the chemicals remained in them may go into water if they fall into rivers. In this way, our environment may be contaminated by the pleasure of letting off firecrackers. Last but not least, making and using fireworks are in themselves behaviors of wasting natural resources. To produce firecrackers, we need to invest a great of manpower and natural resources that can be used for producing some more useful goods. However, all those manpower and resources are used only to produce some bangs, transient light of various colors and shapes, a series of oohs and ahhs and a short period of happiness. Nothing more. It is, in the final analysis, a kind of waste to get a transient pleasure at the expense of money, human labor and natural resources. Judging from the ample evidence presented above, we may reasonably arrive at the conclusion that fireworks should be banned in Spring Festival celebration for the sake of safety, a better environment and a better use of all kinds of precious resources. As for Spring Festival celebration, we have so many different strategies, why not just abandon this wasteful practice that may cause safety threats and environmental problems. (502 words)

It is Wise to Abolish Pets
In the present-day society, keeping pets are enjoying greater prevalence and the variety of pets people keeping are on the rise. Many people raise pets for the opinion that pets
are the best friends and companions of human beings and they cannot live without their pet friends. However, there are also a great number of people who oppose to that practice. They argue that pet should be banned for the sake of safety, better environment as well as energy and money. I am on the side of the latter, as I, indeed, of the opinion that the drawbacks brought about by pet-raising far outweigh the advantages. In the following context I am to make my argument convincing by elaborating on my 3 reasons. First and foremost, pets are easily infected with diseases, which in turn, may make you a victim. There can be no denying that pet animals are more susceptible to contagious epidemics than us human beings. If your pet caught a disease, you would stand a big chance of being infected. Worse still, many pet animals may fall victims to some serious diseases, such as rabies, avian flu, etc. You may have to spend a lot of money and time to take your pet to the vet and take care of it afterwards, what’s worse, you may also need to vaccine yourself in order to keep yourself safe. Therefore, it is better not to keep pets for safety’s sake. Besides, pet animals may ruin the city’s environment. There can be no doubt that pet animals are always eager to go everywhere for fun. As a result, if without owner’s supervision, pets may trample upon grasslands, vandalize public facilities and even answer the nature’s calls at anywhere they please. In this way pet animals become a saboteur to the city’s image and environment. That may be one of the reasons some major cities in China has imposed stringent regulations and restrictions on the pet-keeping behavior. Moreover, keeping pets requires you to spare a great deal of your time, energy and money. To feed your pet, you have to spend some money on the food that your pet survives on; to keep him happy, you’re expected to spare some time to keep him company and take him for a walk when necessary; to keep him healthy, you’re supposed to take him to a vet for regular examines. Thus, it is not advisable to keep pets unless you have sufficient time, energy and are financially suitable for practicing this. Judging from the realms of evidence presented above, we may reasonably arrive at the conclusion that pets should be abolished for the ultimate benefits of us. Though I cannot deny the fact that animals are best friends of us human beings, we have to take them out of our lives if pet-raising brought us more problems and troubles than benefits. After my thoughtful analysis of the pros and cons, it is suggested to give up the habit of pet-raising. (497 words)

Lend a Helping Hand to Strangers
When it comes to the question whether we should help strangers or not, different people may be of different opinions. Those who are opposed to it may argue that it is not advisable since you know nothing about those in need, you’re not sure whether they are really in trouble or pretendin
g to be, and you’re not legally prescribed to lift a finger to help them. People who favor the opinion, on the other hand, maintain that helping others, no matter they bear relationship with us or not, is our responsibility as being a decent man. As for me, I’m in favor of the latter. In the following context I am to elaborate on my 3 reasons to make my standpoint reasonable and convincing. First and foremost, as human beings, it is our responsibility to help others out of trouble. I should say “mutual help” is one of the distinguishing traits of human beings from animals, since helping each other brings this world warmth, loving care, benevolence and friendly atmosphere. Offering help to others, especially those in troublesome conditions or survived from disasters, can make the world a better place, as what Michael Jackson proclaimed in his song. It is a plain truth that the world is becoming increasingly indifferent nowadays, few people are ready to help strangers for fear that those people may be act to be pathetic for some kind of evil intentions, or in other words they may be wolves in sheep’s skin. But in most circumstances, this is only an unnecessary worry and a pretext for not helping strangers however does not hold water. So it is high time we crossed the bridge between ourselves and strangers and shoulder our responsibility as civilized men. Besides, we should step our feet into stranger’s shoes to understand the significance of our help to him. However small our help may seem to be, it often worth a lot to the help-seekers. We should always keep in mind that we may also encounter some unexpected pitfalls and crave for other’s helping hand. Only when we have a ready mind to help others and contribute to rekindle the social atmosphere of mutual help can we expect to be helped when we are in need. Admittedly, it should not be denied that there are some people who tend to take advantage of warm-hearted and helpful people. However, we should not let those people blind us to the fact that most people in need of our help are innocent men. The thing we can do before we stretch our helpful hand is to judge the help-seeker and the situation carefully. If you can do your favor, then go ahead. (446 words)

We Should Never Climb On the Bandwagon
In the present-day society, with China’s integration into the global village and the rise of people’s living standards, many Chinese citizens are attempting to follow fashions. Inevitably, with the emergence of this phenomenon, heated discussions concerning the pros and cons are now everywhere to be heard across the country. Supporters argue that following fashion can show your social status, personal taste and distinct temperament, while opposition voices point to the disadvantages- i.e. wasting time and money, vanity brought about by chasing after trend, etc. – far outweigh the advantages it may pose. After giving it a second thought and weighing up the pros and
cons seriously, I’ve to admit that I am on the side of the latter. I base my standpoint on the following 3 reasons. To begin with, following the trend may cost us a considerable amount of time, energy and money. In order to be in the swim, you should first watch TV programs or read fashion magazines about the current vogue and then go shopping in pursuit of what fits in with the trend of fashions. In the process, a huge quantity of time, energy and money has to be consumed, which may otherwise produce much more valuable results of wisely and correctly channeled. Besides, fashion is fashion, it is constantly changing and hardly last for a long period of time. You may succeed in following of the fad today, but the fad of today may be easily replaced by that of tomorrow, then could you ascertain that you can also keep up to date with the ever-changing fashion circle? Fashion is so transient and intangible that we can hardly hold it in our hands. So it is better for us to forget about fashions and stick to things that are actual and concrete. Last but no less profoundly, pursuing fashion may lead to your vanity. After you adopted the sense of fashion chasing, you may concentrate most of your time arguing with your friends on the comparison of those famous brands, indulging yourself in satisfying your vanity and, as a result, you may have no time nor interest in academic pursuit or career achievements. You’ll be cultivated into a snobbish people by your vanity and may finally be abandoned by your colleagues or friends. Judging from the reams of evidence presented above, we may reasonably arrive at the conclusion that it is by no means advisable to climb on the bandwagon. Following fashions blindly can never do us any good. We should, instead, concentrate on other reliable pursuits that can actually shape your taste and paves the way for your future success and enviable social status. (445 words)

Positive Influences of TV on Kids
In this modern world, TV is a requisite for each family and watching TV has become an indispensable component in our daily life. However, along with the popularity of TV sets, increasing more complaints and worries about TV are heard. Some people grumbles that TV programmes are less attractive and rewarding than before, others air their concern for the probable negative impacts of several TV programmes on juveniles or kids. I should say, many results of social and scientific progresses are proved to be “double-edged swords” and TV is by no means an exception. It is beyond doubt that TV sets could exert some negative influences on children, but we should also have a full cognition of the merits TV sets may bring. First, TV provides kids a platform for amusement and relaxation. It is generally acknowledged that TV animations are an integral part of everyone’s childhood. A childhood without animation must be miserable and unimaginable. Besides amusement and happiness they bring, animations could a
