A conflict at work is common. If you can avoid conflict,it means you will win what you want regardless of what the other person wants.Since the potential issue has not been removed,it will simply reappear later.Let’s see what you can do.
★Be aware of the fact that some conflicts are unavoidable at work.On numerous occasions, conflict and disagreement are likely to happen. But when a conflict happens it’s not the end of the world. On the contrary,it can be the beginning of an interesting learning process.Conflicts mean that people care enough to disagree strongly. The trick is not to allow the conflict to go on forever.
★Deal with conflicts soone r rather than later.Solve a conflict when it starts,as it only gets worse with time going by.Conflicts at work arise not from something that was said, but from something that wasn’t said! Everyone’s waiting for the other to admit he’s wrong and gets more un pleasant after the conflict has lasted a while. It’s essential to interrupt the “waiting game” before it gets to that point.
★Ask nicely. If somebody has done something that made you angry,or if you don’t understand their viewpoint or actions, simply asking nicely about it can make a world of difference.Never assume that people do what they do to annoy or hurt you.Sometimes there’s a good reason why that person do es what he or she does, and a potential conflict disappear right there.Do remember to make an inquiry, not an accusation of any sort.
★Appreciate.Praise the other part in the conflict.Tell them why it’s wor th it to you to solve the conflict. This can be difficult as few people find it easy to praise and appreciate a person they disagree strongly with, but it’s a great way to move forward.

A recent survey shows what the students of our school like to do in their spare time.
From the picture,we can see 53% of the students like sports,so doing sports is the most popular activity in our school. The second most popular activity for students is surfing the Internet and 36% of the students have interest in it.Only a few students, about 8% of them take reading as a hobby. And even fewer are fond of playing musical instruments.
In my point of view, our school should have more sports facilities built to satisfy the needs of the students.Guidance should be given to students on surfing the Internet and ways must be found to arouse students’ interests in reading and music.
More programs should be set up to devel op students’ various interests in nature, technology, literature and so on.

Have you ever intended to be fully absorbed in your work but found yourself distracted (走神) by e-mail,the Internet and other things throughout the day?
“People often lose their concentration when they are bored,of course, but also when they are engaged in challenging tasks,” says Peter Bregman.“They sometimes have a feeling to e scape from what’s difficult or boring,so they jump out,” he says. The part of the brain devoted to attention is connected to the brain’s emotional center.Any strong emotion-quarrels with colleagues, problems at home—can interrupt our attention.Studies over the last decade have shown that too much work to do at a time can easily lead to distraction.
Refocusing is hard for many people.Robert Epstein suggests the following,“St op and listen to music for a few minutes.Go for a short walk or take a deep breath, where you breathe in deeply, count to five slowly, hold it and breathe out very slowly.” This can “blow out all the tension and the unwanted in your mind to restore your focus.”
Take more control by structuring your time and becoming more aware of your behaviors.“Setting the phone alarm to go off every hour is my way of creating awareness,” Mr.Bregman says,“ You have to inform yoursel f that you’ve lost focus in order to do so mething about it.” Starting the day with a to-do list is important, such as when to eat, when to go to the gym or take a walk. But if it’s overly ambitious, you will put yourself in a state of anxiety, which makes it hard for the brain to concentrate.“Choosing three or four things as your priority (优先) for the day allows your brain to settle down and focus,” he says.

Recently the Students’Union conducted a survey on whether recycling dustbins should be set in classrooms.
As can be seen from the pie chart, different students hold different opinions on this program.Only a few students care little about it.Surprisingly, about
one-third of students are totally against the program. They don’t bother to change their old habits. However, over half of the students are completely for the program as it is not only beneficial to recycling of resources, but also it can help students develop their good habits of garbage classification.Besides,12% of the students partly agree. They hold the opinion that educating people on how to classify the garbage goes first.
Personally,I’m in favor of this program.I believe it’s important to raise people’s awareness of garbage classification, from which we will get considerable benefits for the future.。
