History and Development
➢ In 1350, Maoris firstly immigrated to Auckland, becoming the original indigenous inhabitants.
➢ On February 6th,1840, Captain William Hobson signed the“ Treaty of Waitangi ”piece of land with local Maori indigenous people and named after the city with the name of the GovernorGeneral of India, Auckland. So Auckland became the capital of the new colony until 1865.
