靶子的核心部位，一旦射中，便获得优胜。

因此bull's eye转喻“问题的关键”，常用在习语hit the bull's eye 和make (or score) a bull's eye中。

19世纪早期，英国漫画家利用这个故事画了一幅漫画，讽刺阿默斯特勋爵（Lord Amherst）到中国商讨发展贸易却无功而返的事情。

画家把这幅漫取名为a bull in a china shop, bull是双关语，除了指“公牛”，还指英国人（John Bull），而china则既可指中国，也可指瓷器。
