How He Started the Table
B.F did lots of reading and found that people defined virtues differently. He decided to make his own virtue form." I propos’d to myself, for the sake of clearness, to use rather more names, with fewer ideas annex’d to each, than a few names with more ideas". He included 13 names of virtues. These are more clarified, and express B.J's meanings.

英语七上第一单元作文总结冀教版全文共6篇示例,供读者参考篇1Unit 1: My Summer VacationHi there! I'm so excited to tell you all about the first unit we covered in my 7th grade English textbook. It was called "My Summer Vacation" and it was super fun to learn about! The unit started off with a really cool reading passage about a girl named Lucy. Lucy went on this awesome summer trip with her family to visit her grandparents in the countryside. I loved reading about all the fun activities she did like going fishing, picking fruits and vegetables from her grandparents' garden, and playing games with her cousins. It sounded like such an amazing vacation! After the reading, we learned lots of great new vocabulary words related to summer activities. Words like "campfire", "sunscreen", and "picnic basket" were new to me. My favorite new word was "seashore" because I absolutely love going to the beach during summer break. Building sandcastles and looking for seashells is so much fun!The grammar points we covered were about using the past tense to talk about completed actions. We learned how to use simple past verbs like "went", "swam", and "caught" to describe what we did over the summer. It was a little tricky at first to remember which verbs needed "-ed" at the end, but I've gotten much better at it with practice. There were also some really neat cultural tips about summer traditions in different countries. I found out that people in Sweden celebrate Midsummer's Eve by dancing around a maypole decorated with flowers. How cool is that? In Australia, lots of families have backyard barbecues called "sizzle" on Boxing Day after Christmas. Yum, I love a good BBQ!My favorite part was the fun activity where we had to write about our own summer vacation experiences. I talked all about the amazing two-week camping trip my family went on in July. We hiked through forests, roasted marshmallows over the campfire every night, and even saw a family of deer up close! Sharing my story with the class was awesome.I also really enjoyed the song we learned called "In the Summertime." It had such a catchy tune and lyrics about fun summer activities like swimming, riding bikes, and going to the beach. A few of my classmates and I even made up a little danceto go along with the song. We performed it for the class and everyone loved it!Overall, this first unit was a blast! I learned so many useful English words and phrases for talking about my summer adventures. I can't wait to see what fun and exciting things we get to learn about next. Summer may be over, but I'll always have the wonderful memories from this unit. That's my summary of Unit 1, hope you enjoyed reading about all the cool summer stuff we covered! Let me know if you have any other questions.篇2Unit 1 - A Brighter FutureHi everyone! This unit was all about looking forward to a bright future and thinking about our dreams and goals. It had some really cool stories and poems that got me excited to learn more! The first part was a wonderful story called "The Magical Glasses" by Vaikom Muhammad Basheer. It was about a young boy named Hasanu who found an old pair of glasses that made everything look different. With the glasses on, he could seebooks, schools, factories and so much more appear out of nowhere! It made me realize how important education is to make our dreams come true. After that story, we read a poem by Walter de la Mare called "Dream Pedlary." I thought it was a funny and whimsical poem about a dream merchant selling all kinds of crazy dreams, like dreams of forests, castles, elephants and more! The poet used such vivid imagery that I could clearly picture all the wild dreams in my head. It reminded me that our imaginations and aspirations can be limitless. The next reading was an excerpt from the autobiography of Dr. Kalam, the former President of India. It was super inspiring to learn about how he grew up as a curious young boy who loved to fix things and eventually became a brilliant scientist and leader. He encouraged students to "dream, dream, dream!" which is advice I'll never forget. Then we had a fun comic strip that showed a boy asking different people what their childhood dreams were. The dancer wanted to be an astronaut, the scientist wanted to be a magician, and so on. It goes to show that our dreams can change over time, but it's important to keep pursuing them no matter what. The language practice sections had us learning useful vocabulary and grammar for discussing hopes, goals and ambitions. We practiced making predictions about the future with "will" and talking about imagined situations using the second conditional. This will really help me describe my aspirations more clearly. The unit wrapped up with a beautiful poem called"Life'sScribbles" that compares life to a blank book waiting to be filled with our stories and dreams. My favorite lines were: "Today's scribblings, tomorrow's tomorrows, chalked up to Life's lavish design." So poetic!Overall, this first unit got me super motivated to think big, chase my wildest dreams, and appreciate the magical power of education and our imaginations. A huge thank you to my amazing English teacher for making these lessons so much fun. I can't wait for the rest of the year!篇3Hi friends! Today I'm going to tell you all about the first unit we learned in our new English textbook. It was called "A Brighter Future" and it was super interesting! The first lesson was called "Tackling Problems Head-On" and it was about this really cool scientist named Marie Curie. She was born in Poland way back in 1867 and she was super smart from a very young age. Even though things weren't easy for girls who wanted to study science back then, Marie never gave up on her dream. She ended up moving to France and marrying another scientist named Pierre Curie. Together, they discovered these amazing things called "radioactive elements"! Isn't that such a cool name? It means the elements give off special rays of energy. Marie and Pierre's discovery was really important for medicine and other sciences.Sadly, Pierre died in an accident not long after their big discovery. But Marie was tough and she kept on working hard as a scientist. In 1903, she became the first woman ever to win a Nobel Prize! Then in 1911, she won another Nobel Prize, this time in a different science subject. Marie Curie is still the only person who has ever won the Nobel Prize twice in different fields. Amazing, right? The next reading was called "Against the Odds" and it was about another inspiring person - Helen Keller. Poor Helen became deaf and blind when she was just a tiny baby because ofa bad illness. For the first few years of her life, she lived in a world of silence and darkness. Her parents must have been so worried for her!But then when Helen was 7 years old, a wonderful teacher named Anne Sullivan came to help her. Using hand signs and finger spelling, Anne patiently taught Helen how to communicate. It was so hard at first, but Helen was incredibly determined. Eventually she learned how to read, write, speak, and do all sorts of amazing things that blind and deaf people weren't expected to do back then.Helen Keller grew up to become a famous author and speaker. She traveled all over the world, sharing her story and talking about the importance of having hope, courage and a positive attitude no matter what challenges you face. I think Helen is such an inspiring role model, don't you?In this unit we also read a narrative story called "Turning the Tide" about a young girl named Lin Li who lives in a coastal village in China. There had been bad flooding in the village for years because the sea levels kept rising due to climate change. The floods ruined homes, farms and roads. It was awful. But then some scientists had a brilliant idea - they decided to rebuild the wetlands that used to exist near the coast. Wetlandswith grasses, shrubs and trees can act as a natural buffer against flooding from the sea. A few villagers like Lin Li's grandpa were unsure about this plan at first. But after seeing how well it worked, they were amazed! Not only did rebuilding the wetlands stop the terrible flooding, but it provided new habitats for birds, fish and other wildlife too. The villagers could farm and fish safely again. I thought it was such a smart solution using nature to fight back against the effects of climate change. There was also a really cool essay in this unit called "Save Electricity, Save Earth." It talked about all the reasons why we need to conserve energy and use less electricity. Did you know that burning fuels like coal, oil and gas to make electricity causes air pollution and speeds up climate change? The essay had lots of simple tips for saving energy like turning off lights when you leave a room, taking shorter showers, and unplugging devices when they're not being used. Apparently just doing small things like that can save a ton of electricity over time! I've started being way more careful about conserving energy after reading that piece. We also learned about renewable energy sources like solar, wind and hydroelectric power that are better for theenvironment than burning fuels. My favorite was solar power - converting sunlight directly into electricity using solar panels is such a genius idea! I really hope we can use way more renewable energy instead of fossil fuels in the future to help protect our planet. In the unit, there were dialogues, role plays, listening exercises and all sorts of fun activities to practice our English too. We learned great vocabulary words like "resilient," "adversity," "renewable" and "sustainability." I feel like I know so much more about taking care of the earth and being tougher in the face of challenges after studying this unit.My biggest takeaway is that even if you go through really hard things in life, you should always have hope and never stop trying your best. Just look at heroes like Marie Curie and Helen Keller - they overcame SO MANY obstacles through their courage, resilience and positive mindsets. If they can get through such incredibly difficult situations and achieve amazing things, we can too! We just have to work hard, believe in ourselves, and never give up on our dreams.I'm really looking forward to the rest of this English book. Learning about inspirational people and important topics like protecting the environment makes me excited to keep studying.I hope I can absorb as much knowledge as possible so I can grow up to make a positive difference in the world, just like Marie Curie, Helen Keller and all the other heroes we read about. Don't you feel motivated too? Let's keep exploring and learning together!篇4Unit 1 - My Summer VacationWow, what a cool summer I had this year! I got to do so many fun things and go on lots of adventures. Let me tell you all about it!The first week of summer, my family went on a trip to the beach. We drove for a really long time to get there, but it was totally worth it once we arrived. The ocean was huge and blue and went on forever and ever. The sand was soft and warm between my toes. I spent hours building sandcastles and making sand sculptures of animals, superheroes, and anything else I could imagine. When I got tired of that, I went swimming in the salty waves. The water was cold at first, but I got used to it quickly. I could bodysurf and jump over the waves crashing on the shore. It was so much fun!One day, we went on a boat tour to look for dolphins. It took a while, but eventually the captain spotted some playing in the distance. We watched them jumping out of the water and swimming alongside our boat. A few even did flips in the air right in front of us! I tried to take pictures, but they moved too fast. On the ride back, we saw some sea turtles floating near the surface too. They looked like little green rocks at first, but then they'd move and you could see their heads poking out to breathe. The ocean is an amazing place with so many cool creatures. After the beach, we headed to the mountains for a camping trip with my cousins. We all piled into a big RV and drove way up into the hills away from the cities and towns. When we arrived at the campsite, the first thing we did was set up our tents. Well, the adults set them up - the kids just played and explored around while they worked. Once camp was ready, we went on a hike through the forest. The trees were huge and covered everything in shade. The path was a little muddy and had lots of rocks and roots sticking out that you had to watch out for. But we saw tons of awesome stuff - a family of deer, different colored mushrooms and fungi, strange insects, birds making all kinds of noises. It felt like we were in a totally different world. At night, we had a campfire and roasted marshmallows for s'mores. I'm not really sure what was in those things, but they were crazy good! The fire crackled and sent up showers of glowing orange sparks into the dark sky. We told spooky stories and looked up at the billions of stars that were so bright and clear without any city lights getting in the way. I've never seen so many stars before - it was breathtaking. I wanted to stay up all night just staring at them, but my parents made me go to bed in the tent at a normal time. Lame! The next day, we went hiking again to a waterfall. The trail was tough and my legs got really tired from all the uphill climbing. But when we finally made it, the waterfall was stunning. Gallons of crystal clear water came pouring down from high up, making a thundering noise and sending up clouds of moisture. We took off our shoes and went wading in the shallow pool at the bottom. The water was ice cold, but it felt amazing to cool off after the tough hike in the hot sun. My cousins and I had a splash fight and tried to push each other under the little waterfall until we were all soaked and giggling like crazy. I didn't want to leave, but we had to hike back before it got dark.On the drive home from camping, we stopped at this outdoor adventure park with zip lines, ropes courses, climbingwalls, and more. My favorite was the zip line - you had to climb up this really tall tower and clip yourself onto the cable, then just step off the platform and go zooming down across the treetops. It was equal parts terrifying and thrilling! The ropes course had us navigating across different obstacles suspended high off the ground while safely harnessed in. Some were wobbly bridges, others were just ropes or swinging planks you had to carefully walk across. If you slipped, you'd just get left dangling there. My arms were worn out by the end from having to pull myself along everything, but it was awesome. After all those adventures, I was pretty wiped out and glad to be back home for the rest of the summer. I spent a lot of time just chilling and recovering - sleeping in late, playing video games, watching movies, hanging out with friends around the neighborhood. We'd ride our bikes to the park or convenience store, have water balloon fights, play pick-up games of basketball or soccer, go to the local pool, stuff like that. Just relaxing and recharging after going hard those first few weeks. Though we did make one last trip to our favorite waterpark with the huuuuge slides and wave pool and lazy river before school started up again.Overall, it was one of the funnest summers ever! I'm sad it had to end, but I guess that just means I have great memories and can look forward to more adventures next year when I'm on break again. Fingers crossed it'll be just as awesome!篇5Here's a summary of the first unit of the Grade 7 English textbook (Jiao Jiao Edition) in the style of an elementary school student, written in English with approximately 2,000 words.Unit 1: Hello, New Friends!Hi there! I'm so excited to tell you about the first unit of our new English textbook. It's all about making new friends and introducing ourselves. How cool is that? The unit starts with a funny story called "A Terrible Mistake." It's about a boy named Tom who gets mixed up with another boy named Sam on the first day of school. They have the same backpack and lunchbox, and they even sit at the same desk! Can you imagine how confusing that must have been? Luckily, they figure it all out in the end and become good friends.Next, we learn how to introduce ourselves in English. We practice saying our names, ages, and where we're from. It's alittle tricky at first, but with lots of practice, it gets easier. Here's how I introduce myself:"Hello, my name is [your name]. I'm [your age] years old, and I'm from [your hometown]."Pretty simple, right? But it's so important to learn how to do this properly. After all, you never know when you might meet someone new from another country! Then, we move on to learning about different countries and nationalities. Did you know that people from China are called Chinese, and people from the United States are called American? There are so many different nationalities to learn about! My favorite part was learning how to ask someone where they're from and how to answer that question. We also learned some fun new vocabulary words, like "colleague," "classmate," and "neighbor." A colleague is someone you work with, a classmate is someone in your class, and a neighbor is someone who lives near you. It's important to know these words so we can talk about the people in our lives. But my absolute favorite part of this unit was learning about different greetings from around the world. Did you know that in some countries, people bow to each other instead of shakinghands? And in other countries, they kiss each other on the cheek when they greet each other? How interesting is that?We even learned some simple phrases in different languages, like "Hola" in Spanish, "Bonjour" in French, and "Nihao" in Chinese. Isn't it amazing how many different ways there are to say "hello" in the world?Overall, this first unit was so much fun and taught us lots of useful things about making new friends and introducing ourselves. I can't wait to learn more in the next unit! That's all for now, friends. Until next time, keep practicing your English and making new friends from all over the world!篇6Unit 1 SummaryHi there! I'm going to tell you all about the first unit in our new English book. It's called "A Happy Beginning" and it teaches us lots of cool stuff about making friends and introductions. Get ready for some fun!The unit starts with a comic strip about two boys, Mike and Jack. They are playing basketball at the park when the ball goes over the fence. A girl named Amy picks it up and gives it back tothem. The boys introduce themselves and Amy joins their game. It's a nice story about making a new friend! After the comic, there is a whole section on introductions and greeting expressions. Some of the phrases we learned are "Hello, I'm..." "Nice to meet you," "This is my friend..." and "How do you do?" Remembering these will help us make friends more easily. My favorite part was the fun tongue twisters to practice pronouncing words right. They were pretty tricky! Like "She sells sea shells by the sea shore" and "A tutor who tooted the flute, tried to tutor two tooters to toot." Try saying those fast!We also read about making introductions in different situations, like at parties, in class, or meeting a friend's family. The examples showed us the right language to use each time. Introductions are important to start friendships off well.Later, the unit had dialogues acting out introductions between new classmates and students meeting teachers. We practiced those with partners. I liked getting to role play! The grammar focused on questions like "What's your name?" and "Where are you from?" Also subject pronouns like I,you, he, she, it, we, they. Pretty basic but really useful for conversations. For vocabulary, we learned words related to making friends, like "pal," "buddy," "classmate," and "colleague." Some were new to me but they'll help me discuss friends and relationships better now. There were fun games too, like unscrambling letters to form new words. We split into teams and raced against each other. My team won once! Activities like that make learning feel more like playing.Towards the end, the unit went over leaving conversations politely by saying "It was nice talking to you" or "I need to go now." That's an important skill so you don't seem rude when ending a chat. The last part had us writing self-introductions and interviewing partners to introduce each other to the class. I was nervous speaking in front of everyone, but my introduction went well!Overall, this unit packed in a ton about how to meet people, greet them properly, start conversations, and end them nicelytoo. The lessons were interactive and engaging with all the games, role plays and activities mixed in.Making friends is hard sometimes, but now I know more of the right English phrases and customs to make it easier. I'm excited to put my skills to use and make some new pals! That's my full rundown of Unit 1 - hope you found it helpful and fun like I did. On to the next unit!。

The-Autobiograph...

The-Autobiograph...Course: American LiteratureInstructor: Ma RuiStudent Name: Liu Zirui from Mingde college of NWPUClass Number: 082487Date: Oct.29th, 2011The Autobiography from Benjamin FranklinThe Autobiography was written by the great American writer Benjamin Franklin who was one of the American founders and the leader of the American independence movement, as well as the drafter of Declaration of independence. He was a politician, a scientist, a diplomat, a publisher, a writer and a social industrialist. He was praised as the second Prometheus who stole the fire from heaven to show his intelligent and contributions. He was the father of the modern civilization and a symbol of America. This autobiography was written by Benjamin when he was in his old age according to his experiences which has a great influence to the world. In his autobiography, he wrote thirteen virtues: temperance, silence, order, resolution, frugality, industry, sincerity, justice, moderation, cleanliness, tranquility, chastity and humility which admonished people to try to be the best of yourself. By temperance he told us not to eat too dull and not to drink too much to be clear in mind. By silence he advised us not to say something that is meaningless but could benefit others or yourself. And by order he taught us that we need to take all our things in order so that we could have a tiny place to study, work and live. Resolution showed us what we decide to do need to be done with our consistency. He informed us to have a more comfortable life if we don’t waste our money in those empty and meaningful things by frugality. What’s more, industry showed us not to waste our time. Do something that is significant or good for you. Sincerity told us to be a loyal and honest people who could be trusted by others. And speak with accordingly. Justices informed us not to do things are negative to others and it’s our own duty to do things that are benefit to people. Moderation taught us not to do extreme things. Try to tolerate the injuries from others. And by cleanliness, he taught us to be a tidy person. In addition, he informed us to clam down when we come across some troubles. By chastity, he advised us to do things that could benefit or protect yourself, your family and friends’ reputation. Lastly, try to be humility as much as you can and imitate the great people like Socrates and Jesus.Mostly, his writing is ironic, satire and meaningful. In his autobiography, he used plain but humorous words to tell his life experience and his reflections. He opened up a new autobiography writing style which was very frequently imitated by the latter.I learned a lot from his autobiography not only from his intelligent but also his modesty. The way he treated people and the attitude he had when doing things that he made mind to do taught me to try my best to be the best of myself.。

Salvation religions are typically founded by a prophet or religious leader who creates a basic doctrine which explains to people how salvation might be achieved. The legitimacy and long-term authority of these prophets is often dependent upon possessing a high degree of personal charisma and, sometimes, the ability to work miracles presumably a sign of divine favor and sanction.

Scientists Shouldn t Be Surprised by the Popularity of Intelligent DesignIn this article Scientists Shouldn Be Surprised by the Popularity of Intelligent Design which addresses many s t cientists grumps over the persistence if ID (Intelligent Design), Scott Lilienfeld postulates that many Americans approval of id cannot beblamed on their lack of common sense but rather their dependence on their common sense or intuition in making judgments which turns them away from the theory ofnatural selection. According to Lilienfeld, the difficulty in intuiting how marvelous creatures and organisms have resulted from natural selection has prevented many Americans from accepting Darwinian Theory while the same common sense hasmade ID rather tempting to them. As is indicated by a multitude of examples of wrong beliefs based on common sense, intuition does not provide a reliable means of understanding the world. Unfortunately, scientists and science educators have failed toteach research methods and academic skills that can help debunk misconceptions compatible with people s common sense. Finally, Lilienfeld concludes that a radicalshift in science education has to be initiated so that scientists would not face fiascowhen confronting erroneous claims refuged by people s common sense.Empowerment and Restraint in Scientific CommunicationIn his artic l”eEmpowerment and Restraint in Scientific Communic”a,t P io h i n lip Campbell highlights a dire likely consequence of biologists increased ability toobtain and distribute scientific information that such information may be exploited by people with heinous intentions. Scientific communication, according to Campbell, hasseen significant development due to the invention of powerful software and hardware that facilitate scientists acquisition of information and reduce the trouble the mayotherwise have to take in order to publicize their research. However, the resultingplethora of biological information spawns a hazard that the information may be usedto build biological weapons, and this hazard has come to people s attention withsynthetic biologsyresent development. Campbell points out that it is relatively easyto abuse biological knowledge while biological studies often bring about unexpected results. People using biological information for malicious purposes may be whoeverhave leant to exploit simple biological technologies and are not necessarily committedto terrorist agendas. Campbell believes that the decisions made by funding agenciesand scientific journals who are the gatekeepers of biological research will be crucialin reducing the risks of information abuse and what proactive measures should betaken has to be considered by all related parties.Summary Of …Ethical, Legal And Social Implications Of Autonomous Systems‟In his article”Ethical legal and social Implications of Autonomous systems”,AustinModine highlights that robot driver will control the vehicles which raises problems in different social levels.Autonomous robots will deprive people of their control.ForModine‟s assume that human interaction is necessary, but human will make mistakesbecause of their wrong decision.Autonomous systerms also have a tendency to make mistake. And there is a problem that who will be responsible for the failure.A concern that autonomous systems are held back until they don‟t make mistakes any more.Thereaction to failures between autonomous systems and manned systems should bechosen if it make less mistakes than human-operators and technical systems. Finally,Austine Modine conclude that many questions should be solved inorder to make autonomous systems accept legally and socially.Summary Of …Why Do Things Become More Complex‟In his article “Why Do Things Become More Complex” Carrington highlights aphenomenon that simplicity becomes more complex, and people are interested in the complexity. After many years, the jetengine changed more complicated as the pressure of commercial and military interests, usually by adding a subsystem. Modern engines have a vastly complex array of interconnected subsystems subassemblyes. The jet engines work like a cheetah both inthe outside and inside, sleekly and complicatedly. In the process of growing complexity, it has many obstacle for people to overcome, such as new bureaucraticoffices and departments. The complexity brings a mass of problems to keep theperformance like maintenance repairs, et.al.. And functions and modifications tends to increase complexity through overcoming limitations, abnormal circumstances andadapting to the complex world. The renewable simplicity often emerges slowly afterthe growing complication.

In 2021, lee in Google, have been appointed President of global vice President and general manager of China.I admired not only only is him for his good work, but also the idea of his life, the attitude and the path to success. This book mainly revolves around the "success". From the success of the selection of real benefit, the source of success, success - a necessary element of success, successful "compass" - the ladder of success - the path to success, to use wisdom to choose success finally. Summary of the Autobiography
I had begun to study languages in 1733. As soon as I knew well about French, I undertook the Italian. Gradually I found a good method of studying Italian by playing chess with an acquaintance. So Spanish was. After I had learned these three languages, I found that I could look over a Latin Testament, which encouraged me a lot. And I suggest that it would be better to have begun with modern languages derived from Latin in teaching the youth.
I went to see my brother at Newport and then settled there with his printing-house. Our former differences were forgotten. I would take home his10-year-old son and bring him up to the printing business after his health declined. I assisted him with an assortment of new types that his father proposed.
In 1736 I lost four-year- old son by the small-pox, and I regretted not inoculating him. We should start safety prevention early for next generation by inoculation.
As for Our club, the Junto, we rejected the member-introduced persons because we had settled twelve members as a rule from the beginning to keep our secrets and avoid applications of improper persons. I was against any addition to our number but later I made a proposal that every member separately should try to form a subordinate club with the same rules. The advantages are more
young citizens and more ideas. In this way the Junto got promoted in business, increased our influence in public affairs and our power of doing good things. The project was approved but not every member succeeds. The affairs in the Junto were useful and meant a lot.。
