From there, Hartman works with a team of five people to build the displays, creating, sewing and embellishing (润色) many elements by hand. However, a challenge Hartman has faced over the years as she has designed the displays is making sure all of the measurements are right for elements to fit inside the windows.“When I was in college, I was an art major, and I thought, ‘I don’t need math. I wi ll never use it. I’m an artist,’ and guess what, it’s the most important thing that I use, ‘‘Hartman said. “If I don’t get that right, then the windows don’t fit, the pieces don’t come together and it just doesn’t work out.”The holiday window stroll gives Hartman a unique opportunity to hear feedback from those who observe her creations, which is something she doesn’t always get to experience with her other artworks. She said it’s fun to hear people’s reactions as they go through the holiday window stroll.“It just makes me happy that I can kind of set the tone for people’s holiday season and just maybe bring a smile to their face,” Hartman said.4.Which of the following can replace the underlined word “whimsical” in Paragraph 2? A.Serious. B.Exciting.C.Unusual. D.Ordinary.5.What challenges Hartman most in designing the displays?A.The pattern. B.The fit.C.The colour. D.The teamwork.6.What does Hartman think about math now?A.She values it very much. B.She still thinks it’s useless.C.It is a piece of cake for her. D.It’s not suitable for her to learn. 7.Why is the holiday window stroll unique for Hartman?A.It just can make her happy.B.She has a chance to create by hand.C.It can help improve her other artworks.D.She can get some remarks from the viewers.During the holiday season, many of us feel pressure to find our loved ones the “perfect” gift. Why? Because gift-giving has long been considered a prime way to express love. However, recent research suggests that small acts of kindness, like a kind word, hugging a child or receiving sympathy, make people feel most loved and supported. In the study, 495 men and women between the ages of 18 and 93 completed a questionnaire evaluating 60 possible ways that people can feel love. The storyboards included situations like spending time with friends, receiving gifts, and spending time in nature. The survey also included negative interactions, like being controlled and criticized (批评) by others. The findings highlight the psychological benefits that close relationships can offer. In fact, study participants ranked human interaction as a more significant expression of love than receiving material items, like presents. Connecting with others was also rated more highly than getting positive feedback on the Internet, indicating that people get the most support from personal human contact.“During the holidays, anxiety rises, making it harder to remain present with ourselves and others. However, the power of spending time with another person is a gift we can give at any moment,” says Dr. Carla Naumburg, a mindfulness coach and social worker in Newton, Mass. He suggests balancing party planning and online shopping with moments of human connection. Activities like reading to a child, meeting a friend for a walk, or taking a moment tocall a family member, are ways to express love and care and can keep us emotionally grounded. While the idea of offering loved ones the gift of our time may pale in comparison to giving them a generous present, recent research shows shared human experiences can tighten social bonds. Despite personality differences, most people agree on what makes us feel loved—the presence of our loved ones.8.What does the text mainly focus on?A.Gift and holiday economy. B.Social and personal relationships. C.Stress and human progress. D.Selfish and generous love.9.What can we know about the questionaire?A.About 500 men participated in it.B.Participants disliked negative interactions.C.A wide range of age groups got involved.D.Participants had limited ways to feel love.10.What does Dr. Carla Naumburg intend to tell us?A.People often find it difficult to stay with others.B.Face to face connection is a gift to show love.C.Reading to a child is the best way to convey love and care.D.Balancing holiday activities with relaxation is recommended.11.What might be the best title of the text?A.Gift-giving is already out of date.B.Social interaction lights up your holidays.C.It is not presents but presence that counts.D.Stress causes people to withdraw from others.Think twice the next time you decide to copy your boss in an email. That simple little “CC” box (抄送框) could send a message that ruins your relationship with the other receivers.A study in Harvard Business Review asked working adults to imagine that their coworker always, sometimes, or rarely CC’ed their boss in emails. The study results show that employees felt less trusted when their coworker “always’’ copied the boss than when they ‘‘sometimes” or “almost never” did. The results of the survey aren’t surprising, says career expert Bruce Tulgan. Sometimes the boss really does need to stay in the loop (在圈内) with an email chain. But most times, employees are purposely sending the message that they don’t think the receiver followthrough wit h what they’re asking unless the boss gets involved, says Tulgan. “That is an expression of lack of trust,’’ he says.Breaking down that trust level in your office can have serious consequences. Like in any relationship, coworkers need trust to keep things running smoothly. “When people have trust, there is a much higher level of wanting to deliver for each other,” says Tulgan. “When people have enthusiasm, they try harder.” That means more willingness to take risks and make decisions, he says. Even if you don’t trust your coworker to follow through for you, copying the boss in an email is not the best strategy, says career expert Todd Dewett, PhD.“CC’ing is the adult version of being a tattletale (告密者),” he says. “It tells your colleague you didn’t agree wi thout telling it to their face, and you want your boss to know without talking about it.”As a rule of thumb, only about 20 percent of what you do in the office is truly urgent, and those are the only times you should consider getting your boss involved in, says Tulgan. “The most important people, the most important project, key relationship,” she says. “That’s when you might consider the occasional use of CC.”12.Why could CC’ing ruin your relationship with your coworkers?A.It makes the boss join the loop.B.Your coworkers would try harder.C.It makes the boss satisfied with you.D.Your coworkers would feel less trusted.13.What does Paragraph 3 mainly talk about?A.When we can copy the boss in an email.B.How lack of trust can lead to bad results.C.Why trust keeps people working smoothly.D.What can be done to avoid CC’ing the boss.14.What does the underlined phrase “As a rule of thumb” in the last paragraph mean? A.Needless to say. B.Generally speaking.C.In conclusion. D.In turn.15.What is Bruce T ulgan’s advice on the use of CC?A.Consider the use of CC accordingly.B.CC after negotiating with coworkers.C.It is wise for you to always copy the boss.D.You’d better never copy your boss in an email.二、七选五Shorts may feel nice and casual on your legs on a warm summer’s day, but they’re not so gentle on your wallet. 16.Usually the fact that one obviously uses less cloth than the other makes it hard to be accepted So what gives? It turns out clothing sellers aren’t trying to cheat you by charging you too much money. They’re just pricing shorts according to what it costs to produce them.17.Extra material does go into a full pair of pants but not as much as you may think. As experts explain, shorts that don’t f all past your knees may contain just a fifth less cloth than ankle-length trousers.18.Those same details that end up accounting for most of the material—pockets, belt loops, waist bands—also require the most human labor to make.19.The physical cotton in blue jeans accounts for just a small part of its price Jag. Most of that money goes to pay the people stitching (缝合) it together, and they put in roughly the same amount of time whether they’re working on a pair of pants or some shorts.20.For another example, short-sleeved shirts cost roughly the same as long-sleeved shirts. There are also numerous invisible factors that make some shorts more expensive than nearly identical pairs, like where they were made9marketing costs, and the brand on the label. If you don’t want to spend $40 on something that covers just a small piece of leg, stay at home with your wallet!A.More or less, shorts almost cost what pants do.B.This is where the true cost of a garment is determined.C.This price trend becomes popular across the fashion field.D.This is because most of the cloth is sewn into the top half.E.In general, a pair of shorts isn’t any cheaper than a pair of pants.F.To tell you the truth, it is a real bargain to pay for a pair of shorts.G.Customers are willing to purchase a pair of shorts if it is at a reasonable price.三、完形填空I was getting ready to head to my daughter’s college to bring her home for Christmas. And anyone who has tried to learn to play the violin or other instruments can report similar challenges. Now researchers have found that people with musical training have an easier time learning Chinese. Writing in the online edition of Nature Neuroscience, researchers from Northwestern University say that both skills draw on the same parts of the brain that help people discover changes in pitch(音调).One of the study's authors, Nina Kraus, said the findings suggested that studying music "actually tunes our sensory system". This means that schools that want children to do well in languages should hesitate before cutting music programs, Dr. Kraus said. She said music training might also help children with language problems.Mandarin(普通话)speakers have been shown to have a more complex encoding(编码)of pitch patterns in their brains than English speakers do. This is because in Mandarin and other Asian languages, pitch plays a central role. A single-syllable word can have several meanings depending on how it is intoned. For this study, the researchers looked at 20 non-Chinese speaking volunteers, half with no musical background and half who have studied an instrument for at least six years. As they were shown a movie, the volunteers also heard an audio tape of the Mandarin word "mi" in three of its meanings: squint, bewilder and rice. The researchers recorded activities in their brain stems to see how well they were processing the sounds. Those with a music background showed much more brain activities in response to the Chinese sounds. The lead author of the study, Patrick C. M. Wong, said it might work both ways. It appears that native speakers of tonal languages may do better at learning instruments.(1)When learning Chinese, a foreigner will find ______.A He has a difficult time learning music at the same time.B He has an easier time learning music at the same time.C It is hard to master the tones required to speak and understand.D It is easy to use the brain to help him discover changes in pitch.(2)Why does Chinese learning have something to do with music training?A Because it has the same difficulty in learning Chinese and music.B Because skills to learn the two make use of same parts of the brain.C Because music training might help people with language study.D Because people who do well in Chinese study do well in music.(3)The underlined word "intoned" in the fourth paragraph can be replaced by the word "______".A createdB spelledC seemedD pronounced(4)What would be the best title for this passage?A Mandarin Speakers Are Smarter than English SpeakersB Skilled Ear for Music May Help Language StudyC Pitch Plays a Central Role in Chinese LearningD Schools Need to Develop Music ProgramsAn idea that started in Seattle's public library has spread throughout America and beyond. The concept is simple: help to build a sense of community in a city by getting everyone to read the same book at the same time.In addition to encouraging reading as a pursuit(追求)to be enjoyed by all, the program allows strangers to communicate by discussing the book on the bus, as well as promoting reading as an experience to be shared in families and schools. The idea came from Seattle librarian Nancy Pearl who launched(发起)the "If All of Seattle Read the Same Book" project in 1998. Her original program used author visits, study guides and book discussion groups to bring people together with a book, but the idea has since expanded to many other American cities, and even to Hong Kong.In Chicago, the mayor(市长)appeared on television to announce the choice of To Kill a Mockingbird as the first book in the "One Book, One Chicago" program. As a result, reading clubs and neighborhood groups sprang up around the city. Across the US, stories emerged of parents and children reading to each other at night and strangers chatting away on the bus about plot and character. The only problem arose in New York, where local readers could not decide on one book to represent the huge and diverse population. This may show that the idea works best in medium-sized cities or large towns, where a greater sense of unity(一致)can be achieved. Or it may show that New Yorkers rather missed the point, putting all their energy and passion into the choice of the book rather than discussion about a book itself.Ultimately as Nancy points out, the level of success is not measured by how many people read a book, but by how many people are enriched by the process, or have enjoyed speaking to someone with whom they would not otherwise have shared a word.(1)What is the purpose of the project launched by Nancy?A To invite authors to guide readers.B To encourage people to read and share.C To i nvolve people in community service.D To promote the friendship between cities.(2)Why was it difficult for New Yorkers to carry out the project?A They had little interest in reading.B They were too busy to read a book.C They ca me from many different backgrounds.D They lacked support from the local government.(3)According to the passage, where would the project be more easily carried out?A In large communities with little sense of unity.B In large cities where libraries are far f rom home.C In medium-sized cities with a diverse population. D In large towns where agreement can be quickly r eached.(4)According to Nancy, the degree of students of the project is judged by ______.A the careful selection of a proper bookB the growing popularity of the writersC th e number of people who benefit from readingD the number of books that each person re ads4.Skeptics are strange lot. Some of them refuse to admit the serious threat of human activitiesto the environment and they are tired of people what disagree with them. Those people, say skeptics, spread nothing but bad news about the environment. The "eco-guilt" brought on by the discouraging news about our planet gives rise to the popularity of skeptics as people search for more comforting worldviews.Perhaps that explains why a new book by Bjorn Lomborg received so much publicity. That book, The Skeptical Environmentalist, declares that it measures the "real state of the world" as fine. Of course, another explanation is the deep pockets some big businesses with special interests. Indeed, Mr. Lomborg's views are similar to those of some Industry-funded organizations, which start huge activities though the media to confuse the public about issues like global warming. So it was strange to see Mr. Lomborg's book go largely unchallenged in the media though his beliefs were contrary to most scientific opinions. One national newspaper in Canada ran a number of articles and reviews full of words of praise, even with the conclusion that "After Lomborg, the environmental movement will begin to die down."Such one-sided views should have immediately been challenged. But only a different review appeared in Nature, a respected science magazine with specific readership. The review remarked that Mr. Lomborg's "preference for unexamined materials is incredible(不可信的)".A critical(批判的)eye is valuable, and the media should present information in such a way that could allow people to make informed decisions. Unfortunately, that is often inaccessible as blocked by the desire to be shocking or to defend some special interest. People might become half-blinded before a world partially exhibited by the media. That's a shame, because matters concerning the health of the planet are far too important to be treated lightly.(1)According to the passage, which of the following may be regarded as "skeptics"?A People who agree on the popularity of "eco-guilt". B People who disbelieve the serious situation of our planet. C People who disli ke the harmful effect of human activities. D People who spread comforting news to protect our environment.(2)Which of the following can be a reason for the popularity of Lomborg's books?A Some big businesses intend to protect their own interests.B The book challenges view s about the fine state of the world.C The author convinces people to speak comforting w orldviews.D Industry-funded media present confusing information.(3)The author mentioned the review in Nature in order to ______.A voice a different opinionB find fault with Lomborg's bookC challenge the authorit y of the mediaD point out the value of scientific views(4)What is the author's main purpose in writing the passenger?A To encourage the skeptics to have a critical eye.B To warn the public of the danger of h alf-blindness with reviews.C To blame the media's lack of responsibility in presenting information.D To show the importance of presenting overall information by the media.二、七选五5.根据短文内容,从短文后的选项中选出能填入空白处的最佳选项。

AThe First City You Should Visit Next YearIt’s about time to make travel plans for 2018, and the experts at Lonely Planet say one cit y should be first on your list.Seville, Spain took top honors in the travel site’s annual Best in Travel roundup (简报). Seville ranked first due to its relatively new network of biking paths and a set of special local activities related to the anniversary of legendary painter Bartolome Esteban Murillo. The city has also enjoyed some screen love lately. Seville was featured on “Game of Thrones” this year and will host the European Film Awards in 2018, making it a prime time to visit this brilliant historical hangout.Even if you don’t stop by next year, Seville deserves a spot on your travel bucket list. The city is known for its rich history, superb architecture and authentic culture that includes plenty of tapas tasting and Flamenco dancing.Must-sees inclu de Seville’s central cathedral (大教堂), a UNESCO world heritage (遗产) site. The Alcazar’s palace and gardens were built over a 100-year span. Off the beaten track, you’ll find charming neighborhoods, bars, markets and churches waiting for your exploration.US A Today says it’s best to visit Seville in spring, when weather is warm and the city celebrates both the Easter Holy Week and its annual fair.21. What do the underlined words “Game of Thrones” in Paragraph 2 refer to?A. An activity.B. A TV series.C. A palace.D. A painting.22. What do we know about Seville from the third paragraph?A. It’s diverse.B. It’s conservative.C. It’s fashionable.D. It’s controversial.23. When is probably the best time to visit Seville?A. January.B. April.C. September.D. November.BIn a world full of Kates and Sarahs, you might think it’d be nice to have a unique name to help me stand out in a crowd. Being named Stacia (pronounced stay-sha) is not so lucky to me. I’ll get the occasional “Your name is so pretty” after introducing myself, but eventually my name causes me more frustration than happiness. For example, Microsoft Word always tries to tell me my name isn’t a real word. I was never able to buy a cheesy Mickey Mouse keychain from Disneyla nd as a kid (in other words, I didn’t have a childhood). I couldn’t even pronounce my own name correctly until I was five.I once had a professor who pronounced my name differently each class. After a while I stopped correcting him, and that’s been my reaction to strangers ever since. In other cases, I’d rather tell the cashier my name is Staci and save both of us, as well as the people standing behind me in line, valuable time.Meeting new people gives me anxiety, and I’ve realized it’s easier just to lie about my name altogether in certain cases. Actually I did-so many times that Brittany is now my chosen “going out” name. It may have caused some confusion with my friends at first, who would let out a small laugh or confused look, but I’ve trained them to keep a straight face whenever I came up with this fake (假的) name. Now going out on weekends means I get to have a shift of identity.Frustrations aside, being the owner of a unique name has made me appreciate the little things in life. Someone pronouncing or spelling my name correctly on the first try brings me more joy than it probably should. I also love when I meet another Stacia and we get to bond over our shared struggles. To any other Stacias reading this—I feel you, girl. P. S. I apologize to any real Brittanys out there. Thanks for letting me borrow your name!24. How does the author often feel about her name?A. Annoyed.B. Happy.C. Disappointed.D. Proud.25. Why does the author use a fake name?A. To enjoy a different identity.B. To stand out in a crowd.C. To save time and trouble.D. To make a fool of herself.26. What’s the reaction of her friends to “Brittany” finally?A. They are laughing at her.B. They are used to it.C. They are strongly against her.D. They are confused about it.27. How does the author sound when telling the story?A. Guilty.B. Cautious.C. Curious.D. Humorous.CWhen was the last time you sent a postcard? The UK’s family-owned oldest postcard firm, which has been publishing postcards and calendars since 1880, will close this December. The reason? It says instead of penning a card, people are putting photos up on Facebook or Instagram or using WhatsApp to show friends and family at home just how much fun they’re having. If you get a postcard from someone who’s away somewhere, it’s as much the thought that they’ve gone through the hassle (麻烦) of choosing a postcard, working out where to get a stamp from, finding a postbox and then the postcard making that journey through to you. Tha t’s the value of the postcard. But that time has gone.Brothers Charles and Harry Salmon, the fifth generation of the family to run the firm, said the popularity of social media had had a huge impact on the business. People are also tending to take shorter holidays, meaning they are likely to have arrived home long before their postcards. As a result the business was no longer viable.“Increasingly challenging trading conditions and changes to the nature and size of the market for its publications have resu lted in uncertainty over the future of its trade,’’ the brothers wrote in a letter to suppliers and newsagents. As a result they were announcing a proposal to withdraw from publishing. The number of postcards sold each year is reported to have seen a sharp decline to about five million from 20 million just 25 years ago. But the firm said that as well as the drop in the number of postcards sent, “we have also had to consider that there are no more members of the family who wish to join the business.”28. What is the best title of the text?A. UK’s oldest postcard firm set to close.B. Postcard industry booming in the future.C. UK’s postcard firm through a tough time.D. Postcard industry needing support to survive.29. What’s the value of sending a postcard?A. It’s a journey of love.B. It’s a symbol of sympathy.C. It’s an act of patience.D. It’s a way of passing time.30. What does the underlined word “viable” in Paragraph 3 probably mean?A. Worthy of praise.B. Possible to change.C. Short of money.D. Likely to exist.31. Where does this text probably come from?A. A business column.B. A finance report.C. A hi-tech advertisement.D. A book review.DLike it or love it, social media is a major part of life. Clicking on a thumbs-up or a heart icon (图标) is an easy way to stay in touch. Whether you, re on Facebook, What’s App or Twitter, the way of keeping in touch is no longer face to face, but instead screen to screen, highlighted by the fact that more than 1 billion people are using Facebook every day. Social media has become second nature—but what impact is this having on us?Lauren Sherman and her team, who study the brain at Temple University in Philadelphia, mixed 20 teens’ photos with 10 other pictures from public Instagram accounts. Then they randomly gave half of the images many likes (between 23 and 45; most had more than 30). They gave the other half no more than 22 likes (most had fewer than 15).The researchers wanted to find out how the participants’ b rains were responding to the different images. While the teens were in a machine, researchers asked them to either like an image or skip to the next one. Teens were much more likely to like images that seemed popular-those that had more than 23 likes, Sher man’s team found. The kids tended to skip pictures with few likes. As part of the experiment, participants were also shown a range of “neutral” p hotos showing things like food and friends, and “risky” photos concerning cigarettes and alcohol. When lookingat photos showing risky behaviors, such as smoking or drinking-no matter how many likes they had—the brain region linked to cognitive (认知的) control tended to become less active. These kinds of pictures can lower the viewer’s self-control. That means what you like online has the power to influence not just what others like, but even what they do. Viewing pictures like these could make teens let down their guard when it comes to experimenting with drugs and alcohol, Sherman worries.32. What does the text focus on?A. The behaviors of teens.B. The self-control of teens.C. The influence of social media.D. The popularity of social media.33. Which of the following might be included in the experiment?A. Seventeen images are given 20 likes.B. Fifteen images are given 25 likes.C. Fifteen images are given 42 likes.D. Eight images are given 40 likes.34. What’s Sherman’s concern about online photos?A. More likes may be given.B. Misbehaviors may be encouraged.C. More risky pictures may be posted.D. Cognitive control may become less active.35. What is the author’s purpose in writing the text?A. To condemn immoral social behaviors.B. To promote modem social media.C. To explain the brain system.D. To introduce a new research.

Large holiday cottage for special occasions.BWe may be only three weeks into December, but artist Jonnie Hartman has been in the holiday spirit for months, designing and building the Grand America Holiday Window Stroll. The goal with each window stroll is to create playful and uplifting displays (展示), according to Hartman. “I really try to do something lighthearted, something whimsical, that is, something everyone can connect with and maybe not see every day in the real w orld,” Hartman said. She designs all of the window displays by hand, starting with pencil sketches, thenillustrating the designs on her computer and sending parts of the drawings to be printed. I will never use it. She said it’s fun to hear people’s reactions as they go thr ough the holiday window stroll.“It just makes me happy that I can kind of set the tone for people’s holiday season and just maybe bring a smile to their face,” Hartman said.24. Which of the following can replace the underlined word “whimsical” in Paragra ph 2?A. Serious.B. Exciting.C. Unusual.D. Ordinary.25. What challenges Hartman most in designing the displays?A. It’s not suitable for her to learn.27. Why is the holiday window stroll unique for Hartman?A. It just can make her happy.B. She has a chance to create by hand.C. It can help improve her other artworks.D. She can get some remarks from the viewers.CDuring the holiday season, many of us feel pressure to find our loved ones the “perfect” gift. Connecting with others was also rated more highly than getting positive feedback on the Internet, indicating that people get the most support from personal human contact.“ During the holidays, anxiety rises, making it harder to remain present with ourselves and others. However, the power of spending time with another person is a gift we can give at any moment,” says Dr. Carla Naumburg, a mindfulness coach and social worker in Newton, Mass. He suggests balancing party planning and online shopping with moments of human connection. Activities like reading to a child, meeting a friend for a walk, or taking a moment to call a family member, are ways to express love and care and can keep us emotionally grounded. While the idea of offering loved ones the gift of our time may pale in comparison to giving them a generous present, recent research shows shared human experiences can tighten social bonds. Despite personality differences, most people agree on what makes us feel loved—the presence of our loved ones.28. What does the text mainly focus on?A. Gift and holiday economy.B. Social and personal relationships.A. Stress and human progress. D. Selfish and generous love.29. What can we know about the questionaire?A. About 500 men participated in it.B. Participants disliked negative interactions.C. A wide range of age groups got involved.D. Participants had limited ways to feel love.30. What does Dr. Carla Naumburg intend to tell us?A. People often find it difficult to stay with others.B. Face to face connection is a gift to show love.C. Reading to a child is the best way to convey love and care.D. Balancing holiday activities with relaxation is recommended.31. What might be the best title of the text?A. Gift-giving is already out of date.B. Social interaction lights up your holidays.C. It is not presents but presence that counts.D. Stress causes people to withdraw from others.DThink twice the next time you decide to copy your boss in an email. That simple little “CC” box (抄送框) could send a message that ruins your relationship with the other receivers.A study in Harvard Business Review asked working adults to imagine that their coworker always, sometimes, or rarely CC’ed their boss in emails. The study results show that em ployees felt less trusted when their coworker “always’’copied the boss than when they ‘‘sometimes” or “almost never”did. The results of the survey aren’t surprising, says career expert Bruce Tulgan. Sometimes the boss really does need to stay in the loop (在圈内) with an email chain. But most times, employees are purposely sending the message that they don’t think the receiver follow through with what they’re asking unless the boss gets involved, says Tulgan. “That is an expression of lack of trust,’’ he says.Breaking down that trust level in your office can have serious consequences. Like in any relationship, coworkers need trust to keep things running smoothly. “When people have trust, there is a much higher level of wanting to deliver for each other,”says Tulgan. “When people have enthusiasm, they try harder.” That means more willingness to take risks and make decisions, he says. Even if you don’t trust your coworker to follow through for you, copying the boss in an email is not the best strategy, says career expert Todd Dewett, PhD. “CC’ing is the adult version of being a tattletale (告密者),”he says. “It tells your colleague you didn’t agree without telling it to their face, and you want your boss to know without talking about it.”As a rule of thumb, only about 20 percent of what you do in the office is truly urgent, and those are the only times you should consider getting your boss involved in, says Tulgan. “The most important people, the most important project, key relationship,”she says. “That’s when yo u might consider the occasional use of CC.”32. Why could CC’ing ruin your relationship with your coworkers?A. It makes the boss join the loop.B. Your coworkers would try harder.C. It makes the boss satisfied with you.D. Your coworkers would feel less trusted.33. What does Paragraph 3 mainly talk about?A. When we can copy the boss in an email.B. How lack of trust can lead to bad results.C. Why trust keeps people working smoothly.D. What can be done to avoid CC’ing the boss.34. What does the underl ined phrase “As a rule of thumb” in the last paragraph mean?A. Needless to say.B. Generally speaking.C. In conclusion.D. In turn.35. What is Bruce Tulgan’s advice on the use of CC?A. Consider the use of CC accordingly.B. CC after negotiating with coworkers.C. It is wise for you to always copy the boss.D. You’d better never copy your boss in an email.第二节(共5小题;每小题2分,满分10分)根据短文内容,从短文后的选项中选出能填入空白处的最佳选项。
