搭配比较活跃的介词主要有in,out,up,down,on,off,to,from,for,over,with等。

Reactions from Americans are mixed.More than half of the people questioned in a survey think e-cigarettes should be controlled by the US Food and Drug Administration, but 47 percent believe the e-cigarettes should be available to the smokers who want to quit.“In the hunt for a safer cigarette,e-cigarettes are becoming a popular choice among those either trying to quit or looking to replace standard tobacco smoke with an alternative that manufacturers claim to be safer,” Zogby International, which conducted the survey, said in a statement.About half of the 4,611 adults who took part in the survey had heard about e-cigarettes,which are battery-powered,or rechargeable cigarettes that vaporize a liquid nicotine solution. They do not produce smoke but a water vapor without smell.Sold mostly on the Internet,e-cigarettes were first made in China.Last year the World Health Organization (WHO) warned against using e-cigarettes,saying there was no evidence to prove they were safe or helped smokers break the habit. The WHO said people who smoke e-cigarettes breathe in a fine fog of nicotine into the lungs.Nearly a third of people questioned in the survey think that e-cigarettes should be allowed in places where smoking is forbidden, because they don’t produce smoke, but 46 percent disagree.Men who were aware of the availability of e-cigarettes were more likely than women to say they should be a choice available to smokers who want to quit.Young people, aged 18-29,and singles were the groups most open to trying e-cigarettes.Smoking is the single largest cause of preventable death worldwide, according to the WHO.1.What can we learn from Paragraph 1?A.American smokers ought to try e-cigarettes.B.Americans have different opinions about e-cigarettes.C.Every kind of cigarettes should be forbidden in America.D.Most of the Americans don’t like e-cigarettes.2.According to Zogby International,e-cigarettes ______.A.are much safer than common cigarettesB.are popular among people who want to quit smokingC.will take the place of traditional cigarettesD.are produced in a safer way by manufacturers3.What do we know about e-cigarettes from the passage?A.Most Americans are familiar with them.B.They are a good choice as there is no nicotine.C.They produce a water vapor that can’t be seen.D.Most people buy them on the Internet.4.What’s the attitude of the WHO towards e-cigarettes?A.Negative.B.Supportive.C.Doubtful.D.Indifferent.答案Ⅰ.1.C2.D3.C4.C5.D6.B7.A8.B9.C10.C11.C 12.A 13.B 14.B15.BⅡ.1.D2.C3.D4.B5.A6.C7.D8.B9.A10.C11.D12.A13.B14.C 15.B16.C17.D18.A19.B20.C Ⅲ.1.B2.B3.D4.A2012届高考英语二轮专题总复习精选综合能力专练(2)Ⅰ. 1.Anyway,I can’t cheat him—it’s against all my ______.(2011·浙江,18)A.emotions B.principlesC.regulations D.opinions2.The medicine is on sale everywhere. You can get it at ________ chemist’s.A.each B.some C.another D.any3.She has already tried her best. Please don’t be too ________ about her job.(2011·江西,33)A.special B.responsibleC.unusual D.particular4.—Did you hear that Li Hua was robbed during his recent trip to South Africa?—Yes,not only ________ his money, but he was nearly killed.A.he lost B.did he loseC.he had lost D.was he lost5.When ________ about one of the biggest concerns today, many people mention the sharp rise in prices.A.asking B.to askC.having asked D.asked6.When I got on the bus,I ________ I had left my wallet at home.(2011·山东,31)A.was realizing B.realizedC.have realized D.would realize7.If you ________ smoke, please go outside.(2011·大纲全国卷,8)A.can B.should C.must D.may8.It is generally accepted that ________ boy must learn to stand up and fight like ________man.(2011·新课标全国卷,33)A.a;a B.a;the C.the;the D.a;/9.—Oh,you sounded just like a native.— ________,I still have trouble expressing myself.(2011·安徽,23)A.Well,not quite B.I don’t careC.Yes,you’re right D.I’m glad you like it10.It is still under discussion ________ the old bus station should be replaced with a modern hotel or not.(2011·重庆,22)A.whether B.when C.which D.where11.Ted came for the weekend wearing only some shorts and a T-shirt,________is a stupid thing to do in such weather.(2011·大纲全国卷,7)A.this B.that C.what D.which12.No matter how ________,it is not necessarily lifeless.(2011·辽宁,25)A.a desert may be dry B.dry a desert may beC.may a desert be dry D.dry may a desert be13.________ around the fire, the tourists danced with the local people.(2011·辽宁,30) A.Gather B.To gatherC.Gathering D.To be gathering14.All the employees except the manager ________ to work online at home.A.encourages B.encourageC.is encouraged D.are encouraged15.US President Barack Obama ________ a national speech at the 10th anniversary of 9/11 terror attacks.A.addressed B.deliveredC.spoke D.recitedⅡ. I graduated from a small public school in Michigan. One day,Mr.Ledy, our football coach, asked me to play football.I couldn’t help__1__:me,play football? been estimated that rock climbing is now enjoyed by more than 9 million people in the US each year.Study findings revealed a 65 percent increase in the number of patients that were treated in US emergency departments for rock climbing-related injuries between 1991 and 2008.The study, published in the online issue of the American Journal of Preventive Medicine, found that about 40,000 patients were treated in US emergency departments for rock climbing-related injuries between 1991 and 2008.The most common types of rock climbing-related injuries were fractures (骨折) and sprains (扭伤).The ankle was the most common body part to be injured (40 percent).Climbers in the study ranged in age from 2 to 74,with an average age of 26.The study also found that women took up a quarter of the injuries.Falls were the primary reason for injury with over three-quarters of the injuries occurring as the result of a fall. The severity of fall-related injuries had a lot to do with the height of the fall.Patients who were injured after falling from a height over 20 feet were 10 times more likely to be treated than patients who were injured falling from 20 feet or lower.“We found that the climbers who fell from heights higher than 20 feet took up 70 percent of the patients treated for a rock climbing-related injury,”explained the study author Lara McKenzie,PhD,director at the Center for Injury Research and Policy at Nationwide Hospital.“This trend, combined with the fact that rock climbers have a higher hospitalization rate than other sports and recreational injuries, demonstrates the need to increase injury prevention efforts for climbers.”1.Which body part is most likely to get injured for a climber?A.The arm.B.The ankle.C.The knee.D.The hand.2.How many women climbers in relationships. Many adults believe that somehow boys need friends less than girls do,in truth, though,no boy is an island;boys value their friends throughout childhood and adolescence and are happier and healthier when they have solid relationships with peers (同龄人).Despite the common belief that girls are better at relationships, most boys consider their friends a very important part of their lives, and boys may actually be better at keeping friendships than girls are.A recent study of 10-to-15-year-old boys and girls found that girls’friendships are actually more fragile.Girls tend to say and do hurtful things to each other more frequently than boys, and girls are more hurt by the end of a friendship.Boys are the living definition of the phrase “peer group”;they love games with rules, competition, and doing things together.Boys seem to enjoy, even need the opportunity to test themselves against others, and many lasting friendships begin in karate (空手道) class or on thebasketball court.Competence and skill are widely respected;being picked last for a team or left out altogether is an experience that can haunt (萦绕心头) a boy for years. As boys mature, the friendship becomes even more important, and it frequently widens to include girls.During the teen years, friends can become the most important part of a boy’s life—and a part in which his parents are not included. The confusion of being a teenager leads boys to form close bonds with friends. There is the sense for many boys that a friend is someone who is “always there for me”,someone he can trust. They may be partners in crime or partners in study, but the friendship of adolescent boys can run surprisingly deep.1.The common belief of adults is that boys ________.A.don’t care about others as much as girlsB.don’t value friendships as much as girlsC.have the same friendship as girlsD.have healthier friendship than girls2.According to the passage,________.A.boys usually build friendships by playing competitive gamesB.boys like to have small groups of friendsC.boys’friendships seldom result in anyone being hurtD.boys’ friendships can hardly end in failure3.The author mentions the study in Para.2 to prove ________.A.girls value relationships more than boysB.most boys consider their friends very importantC.boys may be better at keeping friendships than girlsD.boys may be more active in a friendship4.As French-Caribbean man disfigured by a rare tumor show that such transplants can work and are not medical oddities (怪异),researchers said. The findings give hope to some people with severe facial disfigurement and suggest the transplants could prove long-lasting without major problems.Despite the tissue rejection in the first year after their transplants, neither men had psychological problems accepting their new faces and have been able to rejoin society, they reported.Only three people have received face transplants. The world’s first was carried out on French woman Isabelle Dinoire in November 2005 after she was disfigured in an attack by her dog.In 2007,her doctors reported that she had recovered slowly and steadily, overcoming two periods of rejection. In 2006,Chinese doctors performed a face transplant on a 30-year-old hit by a bear. While there were some complications with tissue rejection following the operation, two years later the man was doing well, his doctors said.“This case suggests that facial transplantation might be an option for restoring a severely disfigured face, and could enable patients to bring themselves back into society,” Shuzhong Guo and colleagues at Xijing Hospital in China wrote.A French team described their work on a 29-year-old man who suffered from Von Recklinghausen disease,an illness that changes the shape of his face.“The man,who was not named, was given a new nose, mouth and chin in a 2007 operation. He began to work 13 months after the transplant has more function in his face and has not rejected the new tissue,”his doctors said.“Our case confirms that face transplantation is practical and effective for the correction of specific disfigurement,”Dr.Laurent Lantieri and colleagues at the Henri-Mondor hospital outside Paris wrote.1.What’s the main idea of this passage?A.Face transplants can work.B.Face transplants help regain confidence.C.Three people have received face transplants.D.Disfigured people need face transplants.2.What happened to the Chinese patient mentioned in the passage?A.He got a strange illness when he was young.B.He received several operations in hospital.。

The air is clean, and there is beautiful scenery all around. The people who live in the country seem friendly and helpful to their neighbors. The cost of living is low there, because food is usually cheap. I like living in the city, too. In the city there are interesting things to do all the time. People have a big choice of activities. There is a wide selection of movies, and most of the theatres are good. Everything is convenient here, since in the city you live close to grocery stores and schools. Traffic is efficient with regular schedules, so it is easy to get from one place to another.I was happy in the country, but there are good chances for work and study in the city, so I will probably stay here for a period of time and there for another period of time.经典谚语积累Fact speak louder than words.
另外,名词的搭配也是考查的重点,如sense of direction, build up one’s strength 等。

The biggest problem that rainforest plants have to adapt to is the lack of sunlight in the rainforest’s lower levels.Plants have adapted to this problem in several ways. Many plants have very large leaves. The large leaf is helpful because it has a bigger surface area. The bigger surface area a leaf has,the more sunlight it can absorb. The canopy trees adapt by growing to be 100 feet tall so that their leaves can grab all available sunlight.Other plants called lianas (climbing woody vines) have adapted by rooting themselves in the soil of the forest floor and growing up the trees until they reach the canopy layer.Still other plants, such as epiphytes, have adapted by growing directly on the trees’trunks and branches in the canopy and understory layers of the rainforest. An adaptation to the large amounts of rainfall that many rainforest plants have is called “drip tips”.Their leaves are tapered (逐渐变细) to a sharp point at the end. This allows water to run off the leaf quickly. There are many other adaptations that rainforest plants have made to their environment. These will be discussed in detail,as we investigate the plants of the rainforest! 1.Which of the following is a difficulty that the rainforest plants have to face? A.Changes in their “body” or “habits”. B.Soil that is not very deep. C.Epiphytes that grow on trees’ trunks. D.The worsening of the natural environment. 2.How do lianas adapt to the environment in the rainforest? A.They grow under big leaves for protection. B.They rely on other plants to reach the canopy layer. C.They change their leaf structure constantly. D.They grow on other plants’ branches. 3.The underlined word “This” in Para.3 probably refers to ________. A.the take-in of sunlight B.the large amounts of rainfall C.the leaves’ having a sharp point at the end D.water’s running off the leaves quickly 4.What can be inferred about rainforest plants? A.They have to face dangers not only from animals but also from each other. B.Too little sunlight and too much water are the biggest problems they face. C.Different kinds of plants have different ways to absorb sunlight. D.All of their adaptations have been investigated in detail. 5.What would be the best title of the passage? It was very crowded. I had to stand. Beside me was a woman with a little girl in her arms. But in front of her, a youngman occupied two seats, pretending to be sleeping. I heard the little girl asking her mother, "What's wrong with the uncle?" I had thought that perhaps the mother would blame the man. But out of my expectation, the woman answered with a smile, "Be quiet. This uncle must be very tired because of hard work." The young man must have heard these words. His face turned red and he offered one seat to the little girl at once. The woman respected the young man and didn't blame him in public. In this way, she made him feeling ashamed and corrected his bad behavior. I think the woman is very smart. ( 140 words)经典谚语积累Justice has long arms.

如:no sooner …than…,hardly/scarcely…when/before…,not …until…,It’s years since…
