Module 9 Cartoon stories

【学习目标】

1. 知识目标:

功能:能够掌握咨询和提供信息的方式;能谈论卡通人物。

语法:能够掌握定语that, which, who引导的从句,以及引导词的省略。

词汇:能够正确使用下列单词和词组:flash, over there, word, have a word with, heaven, mess, private, heart, win the heart of, everywhere, handbag,

favourite, lead, rule, peach, common, boss, surface, ever since

理解下列单词和词组:cartoon, drawing, cute, lovable, monster, Belgian,

cartoonist, series, experience, creator, late, single

2.技能目标:

a. 能够听懂对话中人物的情感以及提出建议的方式方法。

b. 能够询问、提供有关卡通的信息。

c. 能够读懂介绍卡通人物的故事。

d. 能够用定语从句描写卡通作品;完成对同学所喜爱的卡通类型和喜爱程

度的调查。

3.情感态度:通过了解对话中Tony所遇到的困难,培养体谅、关爱以及移情的态度。

4.学习策略:通过听读语言材料学会在整句话中识别理解词汇;通过练习学会归纳总结本模块的语法现象。并进行系统的操练;能够根据自己

的情况预习教材,并进行拓展;能够与小组同学合作介绍卡通作

品。

【重点及难点】

定语从句(3)—引导词的省略

1. 定语从句如果修饰人,常常用关系代词who,有时也用that(作主语时多用

who)。例如:

He is a man who / that often helps others. 他是一位经常帮助别人的人。

如果这个关系代词在从句中作宾语,就应当用whom或that,但这种情

况往往都可以把引导词省略,且在口语中可用who代替whom。例如:Here is the man (whom / that / who) you would like to see.

这就是你想见的那个人。

2. 定语从句如果修饰“物”,用关系代词that的时候较多,有时也用which。例如:It’s a computer which / that costs six thousand yuan.

这是一台价值六千元的电脑。

当这个代词在从句中用作宾语时,往往都会把它省略。例如:

The present(that / which) you gave me is very beautiful.

你给我的那件礼物非常漂亮。

在介词的后面只能用which。例如:

This is the book about which they are talking.

这就是他们正在谈论的那本书。

A. Read and learn the new words in activity 1 by heart.

B. Complete the sentences with the words in the box.

2. Yes, I think it always has a happy ending.

3. I think some are funny and some are serious.

4. My favourite cartoon character might be King Monkey and Superman.

D. Listen to the tape and find out Betty and Tony’s answers.

Keys: 1. Betty likes cartoon storieswith a hero who save the word.

Tony likes funny stories.

2. Betty thinks it always has a happy ending.

3. Tony thinks some are funny and some are serious.

4. Betty’s favourite cartoon character might be Superman, and Tony’s

might be Jerry.

E. Listen and read the dialogue in activity 3.

二)合作学习

A. Listen again and answer the questions.

1. What does Betty think the ending will be?

2. Why is the situation no laughing matter?

3. How do you think Superman can save Tony?

4. Who does Mr Jackson give the camera to?

5. When will Tony possibly find out that his friends have got the camera?

6. Why does Betty say she’ll be Superman?

Keys: 1. She thinks it will be an unhappy ending.

2. Because Tony has lost his father’s camera and his father will be angry

when he finds out.

3. He can find the camera and give it to him before he talks to his father.

4. Mr Jackson gives the camera to Daming.

5. When they take a flash photo of him.

6. Because she’s the one who will save Tony from the bad situation.

B. Check the answers in pairs. Then practise in pairs.
