With the Chinese government’s great attention to education, more and more middle school students have a chance to go to university. As a eligible undergraduate, their major tasks are learning knowledge. In many university, a number of students usually spend more time on professional courses in their major fields. They listen to the teacher carefully in class and finish their homework carefully after class so that they can get a great score in the final tex t. But some of students don’t like this way to learn. They don’t listen carefully in class even don’t go to class. They would like to do something which can improve their abilities as they think. For instance, they may spend more time to study other profes sion’s knowledge, to participate in some club activity they are interested in or to prepare for an examination for any certificate of technical qualifications they want.
For those students, they study hard at their own fields. maybe because they don’t know which specialties is the one that they want to learn, they think that it is enough to study hard in their major fields they have selected. Perhaps the major they study now is nicely the one they like to learn, so they would like to work study. But for other students, they pay no attention to the study of their major fields. There are four major reasons for this. Firstly, because of the dislike to their major fields, they don’t want to listen carefully in class even skip classes. Secondly, perhaps the teaching ways of the teachers are improper for them, so they don’t listen in class or don’t go to class. Thirdly, due to they want to improve their own practical abilities, they take part in various club activities. Finally, as a result of employment pressure, many students prefer to spending time to pass an examination for certification of technical qualifications.
As a result, those students who work hard in their own major fields acquire steady basic knowledge of major and get graduation certificate successfully. But they may be lack of practical experience and ability. However, those students who don’t like to learn their major knowledge may have strong practical ability and all kinds of skills certificates, but they may not graduate smoothly because of the worse scores.
For this case, the school should make some measures to help students more abilities they want to get. At the first place, school should cancel some inessential courses. Students can have more time to do something they want to do to get some skills under this circumstances. Then, school should add diversified skill train. In this way, students can avoid staying away from school to get some skills and increase the job opportunity.
In my opinion, a better quality undergraduate should learn her or his own major field well firstly. Since you choose this major, no matter how to choose your current major when you apply to university, you should listen to teacher carefully in class and study hard on your major knowledge. At the same time, whether you can get the graduation certificate successfully depends on the scores of major subjects. So it is necessary to work hard on your major field. If you has much time and energy after studying major knowledge, you can learn the knowledge that you want to learn and get the skills that you want to get.
