part1 analysis of teaching materials
1. Teaching content: this is the first period of unit 6 that centers about
expressing personal traits and comparing people. This part has function which links the preceding with the following.
2. Teaching difficulty and emphasis:
1、Help the students master how to compare two persons’
appearances and characters by using the comparative forms of
adjectives.
2、T o improve the students’ abilities in listening, speaking, reading and writing by learning this lesson.
part 2 teaching aims and demands
1. Knowledge aims:
1、To learn the new vocabulary: outgoing, twin, calm, wild, serious,
athletic .
2、To study the comparatives with –r, –er/ier , y→i+er, 双写最后一个辅音字母+ er , and more: taller , shorter, calmer, wilder, funnier, thinner, more outgoing,…etc.
3、To study target language: Is that Sam? N o, that’s Tom. He has shorter hair than Sam. H e’s calmer than Sam. etc
2. Ability aims:
1、Be able to talk about characters of your own and others,
correctly compare and give judgement.
3.Moral aims:
Pay respect to yourself and others .cultivate good personal traits.
part 3 analysis of teaching and learning methods
1.Teaching methods:
1、“Task-based learning” with the help of useful situation to classify the task and give different students different evaluations.
2、To create a lively and vivid language environment.
2.learning methods:
A、T hrough some competitions to arouse the students’ interest.
B、Let the students work in pairs or groups to learn the cooperative learning.
C、to guide students to listen, speak, read .
part4 teaching procedures :
Step1: lead-in
1、Listen to the theme song of the national games.
2、Have a free talk about the opening ceremony of the national games. (目的:通过听全运会主题曲及谈论全运会开幕式,激发学生浓厚的学习兴趣爱国情怀,并为下文引入生词做铺垫。)
Step2.presentation
1. Show some pictures on the screen and talk about them with some new words for ss to guess the meanings of the new words , then play a leading role to read them.
(目的:首先通过全运会上双胞胎羽毛球运动员图片引导学生猜测生词twins和athletic, 然后图片展示并教授生词。)
2. Word competition
Divide the class into two groups, ask them to have a word competition. Let them look at the pictures and say the english words out. Find out the winner and encourage them.
(目的:通过单词比赛对本节课的生词进行及时巩固。而比赛的形式又可以调动学生学习的积极性和合作性。)
step3. practice
1、Get ss to match each word with its opposite in 1a. Check the answers.
