Most rubbish is made up of things we can't eat or use. If we kept these things, we would soon have amountain of rubbish. In some cities the rubbish is collected and taken outside the city to a dump. Often the city dump is placed where the ground is low or there is a big hole. The kitchen rubbish is broken into small pieces and sent into the sewage(污水,排水)system. The sewage system takes away the used water from toilets, bathtubs and other places. To keep mice and flies away, some earth is used to cover the newly dumped rubbish. Later, grass may be planted on the rubbish-filled land. Finally, a house or a school may be built there, and then you'd never know that this had once been an old rubbish dump.In other cities the rubbish is burnt in special places. The fire burns everything except the metal.Sometimes the metal can be used again in factories where things are made of metal. The food parts of rubbish are put in special piles where they slowly change into something called humus(腐殖质), which looks like black earth. He was very fond of animals and as he happened to have a small piece of chocolate in his pocket, he gave it to the dog. The next day, the dog was there again. It held up its paws and received another piece of chocolate as a reward. Albert called his new friend "Bingo". He never found out the dog's real name, nor who his owner was. However, Bingo appeared regularly every afternoon and it was quite clear that he preferred chocolate to bones. He soon grew dissatisfied with small pieces of chocolate and demanded a large bar a day. If at any time Albert neglected his duty, Bingo got very angry and refused to let him open the gate. Albert was now at Bingo's mercy and had to bribe him to get into his own house! He spent such a large part of his weekly wages to keep Bingo supplied with that in the end he had to move somewhere else.(6)、Albert lived there for many years.A:TB:FB(7)、Albert was moving because he did not like the place.A:TB:FB(8)、Albert and the dog became friends a year ago.A:TB:FA(9)、The dog visited Albert every day because it wanted the chocolate.A:TB:FA(10)、Albert "had to bribe him" means he had to take care of him.A:TB:FB3、Shyness is the cause of much unhappiness for a great many people. Shy people are anxious and self-conscious; that is, they are excessively concerned with their own appearance and actions. Worrisome thoughts are constantly occurring in their minds: what kind of impression am I making?Do they like me? Do I sound stupid? Am I wearing unattractive clothes? It is obvious that such uncomfortable feelings must negatively affect people. A person's conception of himself or herself is reflected in the way he or she behaves, and the way a person behaves affects other people's reactions. In general, the way people think about themselves has a profound effect on all areas of their lives.Shy people, having low self-esteem, are likely to be passive and easily influenced by others. They need reassurance that they are doing "the right thing." Shy people are very sensitive to criticism; they feel it confirms their feelings of inferiority. They also find it difficult to be pleased by compliment with a statement like this one, "You're just saying that to make me feel good. I know it's not true." It is clear that while self-awareness is a healthy quality, overdoing it is harmful. Can shyness be completely eliminated, or at least reduced? Fortunately, people can overcome shyness with determined and patient efforts in building self-confidence. Since shyness goes hand in hand with a lack of self-esteem, it is important for people to accept their weaknesses as well as their strengths. Each one of us is a unique, worthwhile individual, interested in our own personal ways. The better we understand ourselves, the easier it becomes to live up to our full potential. Let's not allow shyness to block our chances for a rich and fulfilling life.(11)、What does the author try to prove by citing "what kind of impression am I making?" (Para.1)_____B_____A:Shy people benefit from their caring about their appearance.B:People's shyness made them care too much about their appearance and actions.C:It's natural that shy people don't believe other's compliments.D:Shy people think they are different from others.(12)、According to the writer, self-awareness is ____A______.A:a good qualityB:the cause of unhappinessC:harmful to peopleD:a weak point of shy people(13)、That shy people react to a compliment in such a way is ______B____.A:goodB:unrealC:very reasonableD:harmful(14)、Which of the following statements is true, according to the passage? ___C___ A:Shyness helps us to develop our potentialB:Shyness enables us to understand ourselves betterC:Shyness can block our chances for a rich lifeD:Shyness has nothing to do with lack of self-esteem(15)、It can be inferred from the passage that shy people __B__.A:should find more of their weaknessB:should understand themselves in the right wayC:had better ignore their weaknessD:can get rid of their shyness while maintaining low self-esteem三、词汇与语法1、__C_____ these honours he received a sum of money.A:ExceptB:ButC:BesidesD:Outside2、A police officer claimed he had attempted to ___A_ paying his fare.A:avoidB:rejectC:refuseD:neglect3、How can he _____ if he is not _____? 第一次英语小测优秀作文

第一次英语小测优秀作文English: My first English quiz experience was both nerve-wracking and exciting. I spent weeks preparing, reviewing vocabulary, practicing grammar rules, and listening to English songs to improve my listening skills. When the quiz day arrived, I felt a mix of anxiety and anticipation. As I read through the questions, I was relieved to find that I knew most of the answers. I carefully selected my answers, double-checking for any mistakes. When the teacher collected our papers, I felt a sense of accomplishment. After the quiz, I couldn't wait to hear my results and was overjoyed to see that I had received an excellent grade. This experience taught me the importance of hard work and preparation, as well as the satisfaction of seeing the fruits of my labor pay off.中文翻译: 我第一次参加英语小测的经历既紧张又兴奋。

第一次英语小测优秀作文

第一次英语小测优秀作文

第一次英语小测优秀作文全文共3篇示例,供读者参考篇1My First Outstanding English Test EssayI still remember that day vividly. It was a crisp autumn morning, the kind where the coolness in the air manages to sharpen your senses rather than chill you. As I walked through the campus gates towards my morning English class, I couldn't help but feel a tinge of anxiety mixed with determination. Today was the day of our first major essay test in Professor Wilson's class, and I knew this would be a make-or-break moment for my grade. You see, up until that point, English had been somewhat of an Achilles' heel for me. Despite my best efforts, stringing together coherent sentences that flowed naturally always seemed to elude me. I could memorize grammar rules and vocabulary lists all I wanted, but when it came time to put pen to paper, my thoughts often transformed into a jumbled mess on the page before me.Perhaps it was the lingering effects of being a shy kid who struggled to find his voice. Or maybe it stemmed from the fact that English was my second language, learned later in life after my family had immigrated to this country. Whatever the reason, I had developed a mental block when it came to expressing myself freely through the written word in English. But Professor Wilson's class was different. From the very first day, her passion for the language was contagious. She had a way of making even the driest grammatical concepts come alive through real-world examples and anecdotes. Slowly but surely, I found myself becoming more comfortable with the nuances of English expression. And that brought me to this pivotal test day. The prompt, I recalled, had asked us to reflect on a profound life experience that had shaped our character. My mind immediately went to the hardships my family had endured as refugees, being forced to flee our war-torn homeland with nothing but the clothes on our backs.I began writing, almost mechanically at first, setting up the story and background details. But then something profound happened - the words started flowing from my soul onto the page. Suddenly, I wasn't just recounting events, but painting avivid picture with carefully chosen adjectives and powerful imagery.I wrote about the chaos of that final night before our escape, the sounds of explosions ringing out in the distance like a haunting symphony. I described the agonizing decision my parents had to make to leave everything behind, and the physical toll of our arduous journey to find safety, sustenance, and eventually, a new beginning. But most importantly, I conveyed how that experience had instilled in me a deep appreciation for life's fragility, and an unshakable determination to make the most of every blessed day. How it had opened my eyes to the common threads of humanity that bind us all together, regardless of ethnic or cultural barriers. The words seemed to pour out of me in waves, each sentence building upon the last to create a narrative that was both personal and universal. When I finally put down my pen after a whirlwind of intense writing, I felt as though a massive weight had been lifted from my shoulders. In the days that followed as we awaited our grades, I couldn't shake the feeling that I had tapped into something profound during that test. My usual self-doubt had beenreplaced by a quiet confidence that somehow, someway, I had managed to communicate my authentic self through the power of language. When Professor Wilson returned our graded essays, I held my breath as she announced that one student's work had been truly exceptional - a shining example of how to convey raw human emotion through the written word. As she read out my name, I couldn't believe my ears. My essay had earned the highest mark in the class. In that moment, everything crystallized for me. I realized that my struggles with English hadn't been for naught after all. They had been gradually strengthening those mental muscles, preparing me to eventually break through and find my authentic voice. Just as my family had to endure immense challenges before we could build a new life, brick by brick. From that day on, I tackled every English assignment with a newfound sense of determination and self-assurance. Professor Wilson's class had awoken something deep within me - a love for the art of communication through the majesty of language. And now that I had tasted that success once, I was hungry to experience it again and again.Little did I know then just how profound an impact that first outstanding English essay would have on the trajectory of my life and academic path. It gave me the courage to pursue learning and growth opportunities that I might otherwise have shied away from. It stoked the fires of intellectual curiosity that would eventually shape my college major and career ambitions.Years later, as I stood on stage receiving my hard-earned diploma, I couldn't help but look back on that essay as the spark that had set me on this journey of self-discovery and achievement. In many ways, putting my earnest thoughts and emotions down on that page, and having them recognized, had been an initiating moment that imbued me with the self-belief to dream bigger. So while from the outside, it may have appeared to be nothing more than an ordinary writing assignment, that first outstanding English essay will forever remain a cherished milestone in my story. It was the day I stopped being trapped by fears and self-doubt, andstarted giving full voice to my unvarnished, authentic self through the power of language. And for that extraordinary breakthrough, I will be forever grateful.篇2My First English Test and How I PreparedThe first major English test of the school year was looming, and I was feeling a bundle of nerves. English has always been my weakest subject, and the idea of being evaluated so early in the year had my stomach in knots. But I knew I had to face it head-on and do everything I could to prepare. Here's how I got myself ready for that intimidating first English test. The first step was to get organized. I went through all my English materials - textbooks, notebooks, handouts, you name it.I made sure I had gathered everything in one place so I could easily access it while studying. Being organized from the start helped reduce a lot of potential stress and wasted time later on.Next up, I made a study plan and schedule. I looked at when the test was and worked backwards, allocating time for reviewing different concepts and skills. I made sure to focus on areas I struggled with more while reserving less study time for things I felt more comfortable with. Making a schedule ensured I had enough prepare time and kept me from cramming at the last minute. As I dug into reviewing, I realized just how much I had forgotten or never fully grasped about English from previous years. There were grammar rules I was shaky on, vocabulary words I didn't recognize, and entire writing concepts that seemed like a foreign language. That's when I realized I needed to change my typical study approach.Instead of just rereading notes and textbooks, I got active with my learning. I started making flashcards for vocabulary words and grammar rules. I wrote out endless practice sentences applying the concepts. I read sample essays and paragraphs, identifying things like thesis statements and supporting evidence. Essentially, I stopped being a passive student and became fully engaged with the material.I also maximized my resources. In addition to my own notes and books, I looked online for extra practice materials, grammar exercises, and writing prompts. I found some excellent websites and YouTube channels aimed at students studying English. Having all those supplemental materials helped reinforce what I was already reviewing. As the test date crept closer, I amplified my hardest efforts. I began doing timed writing practices, putting myself under real test conditions. I quizzed myself rapidfire on grammar rules andvocabulary words. I analyzed multiple sample essays, essentially grading them to get a better sense of what was expected. I even started waking up earlier to do short review sessions first thing in the morning. The night before the test, I did a light review of the highest priority items on my study list. Just as importantly, I made sure I got a good night's sleep. There's no amount of cramming that can overcome exhaustion during an important test. I woke up feeling rested and (somewhat) confident that I had prepared as best I could. The test itself was certainly challenging, but nothing felt outright impossible or foreign. My active reviewing had solidified those shaky grammar rules. My vocabulary practice meant I could decipher almost every word I encountered. My timed writing practice made the essay portion feel like something I had experienced before. Overall, the test was undoubtedly difficult, but I persevered through each section feeling well-prepared.When I finally got my test score back, I was overjoyed to see that my incredibly hard work had paid off in the form of an excellent grade. For the first time, an English assessment didn't induce panic but instead gave me a sense of pride and accomplishment. All those long hours studying, all thatengagement with the material, all those practice tests had been worth it. My first major English test of the year was a success!I know there will be many more English tests, essays, and assessments waiting for me down the road. The confidence and study skills I developed while preparing for this first test, however, will make tackling those future challenges much more manageable. I finally feel like I have the right mindset and strategies to continue improving my English abilities. Just as importantly, I proved to myself that putting in the hard work and using active study methods can lead to tremendous results. This early achievement has motivated me to apply that same level of preparation and commitment to all my other classes as well. No longer will I be a passive student or put in minimum study efforts and hope for the best. Getting organized, making a plan, engaging directly with materials, maximizing resources, and pushing myself until the very end - that's my new recipe for academic success. Just one outstanding test performance has altered my entire outlook on learning. Who knew that first English test would have such a profoundly positive impact?篇3My First English Test: An Excellent CompositionWhen I walked into the classroom that morning, my stomach was doing backflips. It was time for our first English test, and I was absolutely terrified. You see, English has never been my strongest subject. I can read it fairly well, but speaking and writing have always been major struggles for me. The idea of having to write a full composition, practically blind with no preparation, filled me with dread.Mrs. Roberts, our English teacher, passed out the test booklets. I took a deep breath as I read the prompt: "Write a narrative essay about a meaningful life experience." My mind went blank. What was I supposed to write about? I couldn't think of any profound life experiences off the top of my head. The blank page before me seemed to mock my inability to put words on it.Then, a memory sparked in my mind - the time I raised a baby bird back to health when I was 10 years old. It was certainly a meaningful experience for me at that age. I decided that would be my topic and began writing my introduction. The words didn't come easily at first. I labored over each sentence, agonizing about word choice and grammar. English composition has always been an area where I struggled mightily. But as I got into the flow of telling the story, the details began pouring out more naturally.I wrote about how one spring day, I discovered a featherless baby bird fallen from its nest into our backyard. At first, I thought it was dead and was going to leave it be. But then I saw it faintly breathing and felt a strong compulsion to try and save its life. I knew it wouldn't survive on its own without its mother, so I decided to take it in and care for it myself.Over the next few weeks, I became that tiny bird's surrogate mother. I learned how to feed it a nutritious mix of seeds and fruit. I made a warm little nest for it out of a shoebox lined with cloth. I even gave it a name - Pip. Slowly but surely, it started developing feathers and growing stronger. Watching those first few feathers sprout filled me with an immense sense of pride and joy.I wrote about how eventually, after about a month, Pip was fully feathered and able to fly. I knew the time had come to let it go back into the wild where it belonged. I'll never forget that bittersweet moment of opening the shoebox and watching Pip hesitantly stretch its wings before soaring up into the sky. I was overjoyed that this once frail little creature was now thriving, but sad to see my feathered friend leave the nest. That experience taught me so much about perseverance, responsibility, and the wonders of nature at a very impressionable age. Caring for Pip was my first real taste of nurturing another life, which gave me a whole new level of respect for my parents and all they did to raise me. It was such a meaningful growing experience that had stuck with me all these years. As I wrote the conclusion to my narrative, I realized my hand was gliding across the page with ease. The words were flowing from my mind to my pencil like a gentle stream. Before I knew it, I had filled several pages front and back. When Mrs. Roberts called time, I read over my composition with satisfaction. It wasn't perfect by any means, but I felt I had given it my all and stayed true to the experience I was recounting.Waiting for our tests to be graded and handed back was agony. I had so little confidence in my English writing abilities that I assumed I had likely bombed it, despite the effort I put into the narrative. But when Mrs. Roberts passed my test back to me, my jaw dropped. At the top was a large red "A" circled, accompanied by the comment "Excellent narrative, vivid details, great imagery!"I couldn't believe my eyes. An A? On an English composition? The very thing I always struggled with the most? As I read through the passages I wrote with Mrs. Roberts' feedback, I felt an enormous sense of validation. Her comments pointed out the descriptive language that helped bring the story to life: "nursed it back to featherless health," "bittersweet realization it was time to let it soar," and so on. She particularly praised the conclusion, saying it beautifully tied the whole experience together with the profound lessons I learned. In that moment, all the fear and dread I associated with English composition began to melt away. For once, I didn't feel inept or like I was struggling uphill. This A wasn't just a letter grade, it was a revelation. Maybe, just maybe, I could craft a strong piece of writing if I put in the effort and passion. Mrs. Roberts saw something in me - a seed of writing potential that I didn't realize existed within myself. From that day on, my attitude towards English assignments completely shifted. I still knew it would never be the subject that came most naturally to me. But now I had evidence that if I worked hard and stayed focused, I could excel. That narrative wasn't just an anomaly, it was the first step towards newfound confidence as a writer.I look back so fondly on that first English test and the excellent composition I managed to craft about my experience raising that little baby bird. It was more than just a graded assignment, it was a pivotal moment that helped transform my self-belief. In a subject that caused me so much frustration in the past, I finally felt a glimmer of hope and promise for myself. It's absolutely crazy how one small writing assignment about something so innocent and pure as nursing a little creature back to health, in turn, helped revive my own shaky skills and confidence. Thanks to that experience, the words I've put on the page from that day forward have flowed more freely. I'll always be grateful to Mrs. Roberts for seeing the writer within me, and to that tiny bird for being the very first story that helped me find my voice.。

我第一次英语考了100分作文Recently, I took my first English exam, and to my surprise, I scored 100 points! This achievement has made me feel incredibly proud and motivated. In the weeks leading up to the exam, I dedicated a lot of time to studying. I reviewed vocabulary, practiced writing essays, and listened to English audio materials. My teacher provided helpful resources and tips, which made the learning process much easier. I also formed a study group with my classmates, where we helped each other with difficult topics. On the day of the exam, I felt a mix of excitement and nervousness. As I entered the classroom, I took a deep breath and reminded myself of all the preparation I had done. When I received the exam paper, I felt confident. The questions were familiar, and I was able to answer them without much hesitation.A few days later, when the results were announced, I couldn't believe my eyes. I had scored 100 points! My heart raced with joy. I immediately shared the news with my family and friends, who were all very proud of me. This experience not only boosted my confidence in English but also taught me the importance of hard work and preparation.Scoring 100 points on my first English exam was an unforgettable experience.
