Unit8 Have you read Treasure Island yet?SectionA(1a-2c )教学设计
一、教材分析
This lesson is the first period of Unit8 Book2 and mainly talks about classic books. It can help students to know how to describe books that they have read and things that they have experienced.
二、教学目标
1.knowledge aim
To learn and master some words and sentences: treasure, island, full of
①Have you read...yet? No, I haven't./Yes, I have already read it.
②What's it like?---It's fantastic.
③----What’s it about?---It’s about four si sters growing up.
and Six classics: Alice in Wonderland,Treasure Island,Little Women,Oliver Twist,
Robinson Crusoe,Tom Sawyer
2.Ability aim
To be able to talk about and describe books they have read.
To improve their abilities of listening,speaking,reading and writing.
3.Emotion aim
To be able to have more motivation to read books.
三、教学重点
1)To learn the Present Perfect Tense;
2)To improve the listening and reading ability
3)To use “already”, ”yet ” correctly
四、教学难点
To use Present Perfect Tense to express their opinions and describe their experiences.
五、教法与学法
Task-based Language Method and Audio-Lingual Method, such as Revision, pair
work ,Self-learning and cooperative learning strategies.
六、学情分析
My students are in Grade Eight. They are interested in learning English, but they are too young.
So more encouragements are needed and I will try to give them more time to practice.
七、教学过程
Step1:Greetings
Greet the students as usual, call their attention to the class.
The purpose is to attract students’ attention and help to rela x them.
Step2: Leading-in
Play a short movie “Treasure Island” to introduce the topic of the unit.
The purpose is to attract students’ attention and arouse their interest.
Step3: Presentation------ Classic books and new words in this part
1: Show some Chinese classics and Western classics, ask students whether they have heard of them.
2: Show some new words and ask students to learn them.
3:Tell students the listening skills and ask students to predict what books Nick and his friends have read.
The purpose is to prepare students for the following listening activity.
Step4: Listening 1b
Listen and complete the chart. First let the students go through the chart and be prepared for
listening.
Then listen again and check the answers.
Step5: Speaking in pairs
1c,Practice the conversation. Then talk about the other books in 1a.
Example:
A: Have you read Little Women yet?
B: No, I haven’t. Have you?
A: Yes, I have already read it.
B: What’s it like?
A: It’s fantastic.
Step6: Listening
First let students go through the tasks in 2a ad 2b and then listen.
2a Listen. Who has read these books? Circle the names.
2b Listen again. Write T for true and F for false.
Listen for the third time, fill in the blanks to consolidate the listening practice.
Step7: Speaking in pairs
2C Use the information in 2a and 2b to talk about the books.
A: Has Tina read Treasure Island?
B: Yes, she has. She thinks it’s fantastic.
A: What’s it about?
B: It’s about a boy who goes out to sea and finds an island full of treasures.
It’s to help students further understanding the listening practice.
Step8: Summary
Summarize what we have learnt in this period.

2:Sentence patterns: ①Have you read...? No, I haven't./Yes, I have already read it.
②What's it like?---It's fantastic.
③What’s it about?------It’s about…

Step9: Assignment
Choice1: Make a survey,write a report & Enjoy reading.
Choice2:Recite the conversations in the listening material of SectionA:2a,2b.

本节课,首先我以Treasure Island的一段电影激发了他们的好奇心。
然后我又通过中西名著作品帮助学生回想经典著作,从而复习并引出目标语;通过听力训练再次呈现了单词和目标语的应用,做好了知识目标的输入,为语言输出做好准备;通过机械操练,替换操练,交际操练训练了目标语;通过小组活动,让学生检测目标语的输出,灵活地运用于生活。
在各种活动中,不仅完成了学习目标,促进了学生观察力、分析力、思维和创新能力的发展,也增强了学生的团结竞争精神和参与意识。
当然,在课题研究过程中,还有许多困惑,比如在展示训练中如何调动更多的学生参与课堂的积极性和主动性等,但我坚信行动是最好的科研成果,在今后的课堂教学中我会更加重视运用课堂游戏这一教学策略,以推进课题研究顺利进行。
