China is in great need of executives who are technicallysound in the fields of IT, finance, and accounting and who have a thorough command of management theories and good communication skills and strategicviewpoints.More attention should be drawn to the education of CTOs and CFOs besides thetraditional education of CEOs.In China, apart from CTOs, we are in great need for CFOs, those who knowsthe operation of capital markets as well as the general management knowledgebecause the biggest challenges for enterprises in China are how to finance a company and how to handle the risky capital markets.Q: What is CFO and the related responsibilities?A:CFO is the abbreviated form of Chief Financial Officer, who is the most important and valuable position of management in modern enterprises besides CEO.Responsibilities for CFO: handle various financial relations especially relations with the investors (investment financing), with governments (taxation, and bond supervision), and strategic business planning, and human resources management.A CFO will direct the department of planning, department of finance, department of operational management, department ofERP and department of H.R.In other words, CFO is responsible for all the departments except departmentsof production and sales. We should lay more emphasis on the education and training of CFO.Relationship between CEO and CFOCEO is the one who make decisions on the long-term objectives or missions fora company, while CFO is the one who make those ambitions and long-term planninginto concrete, operable strategies especially the financial strategies. And not only that, CFO is the person who actually assess the fulfillment of the objectives. So the harmonious cooperation between CEO and CFO in a company iscritical.一些背景资料:Q: What is the difference between MBA program at home and abroad?A: China’s MBA projec ts are lagging behind their counterparts at abroad in thefollowing respects:Teachers and teaching facilitiesAt abroad: Doctoral degree is a must for teachers in universities, and for those who teach in business schools. They have to have obtained professional education in business and management, some with educational background in economics and other pertinent sciences. And most of them have direct or indirectexperience of business administration and they keep a closecontact with enterprises through consulting services or research projects. So they can combine those management theories with enterprise practices which is quite advantageous to the MBA education. At home: We have teachers without doctoral degrees at our business schools, teachers without professional business or management background, and teacherslacking practical understanding of how an enterprise is actually operated.Source of studentsAt abroad: basically, all students applying for MBA education come from enterprises and they intend to continue their career in enterprises when theyfinished their MBA study. They are people with highest potentials to become excellent businessmen or businesswomen. At home: we have a more complex source of students. A large part of enrolledstudents are not from enterprises which means they have no former business experience. Although some are excellent people they simply need longer period tobecome entrepreneurs. Some choose to enter governments and intuitions aftertheir MBA education which goes against the overall objectives of MBA programs.System of managing MBA educationAt abroad: business schools have self-decision-making for their MBA projects, such as the scale of recruitment, tuitions and way of hiring teachers. The high autonomy enables them to develop fast andobtain special features of their own.At home: Universities have little independence and it’s ev en worse when it comes to business schools. All the above-mentioned decisions are made under aplanning system which consequently affect the quality of MBA programs.Teaching methodsAt abroad: besides the traditional ways of teaching, that is lecture and casestudy, there are many kinds of different ways of education for example, field projects, group projects decision by computer simulation, guest speech , projectstudy, consulting reports , role plays, discussions and seminars, action learning, debates, internships, study trips, student presentation, problem solving and experiential exercises. At home : our teaching methods are rather limited.。

Mark your answers on ANSWER SHEET 1.(40 points)Text 1Homework has never been terribly popular with students and even many parents, but in recent years it has been particularly scorned. School districts across the country, most recently Los Anqeles Unified, are revisinq their thinkinq on his educational ritual. Unfo rtunately, L.A. Unified has produced an in flexible policy which man dates that with the exception of some advaneed courses, homework may no longer count for more than 10% of a student' s academic grade・This rule is meant to address the difficulty that students from impoverished or chaotic homes might have in completing their homework. But the policy is unclear and contradictory. Certainly, no homework should be assigned that students cannot do without expensive equipment. But if the district is essentially giving a pass to students who do not do their homework because of complicated family lives, it is going riskily close to the implication that standards need to be lowered for poor children.District administrators say that homework will still be a pat of schooling: teachers are allowed to assign as much of it as they want. But with homework counting for no more than 10% of their grades, students can easily skip half their homework and see vey little differenee on their report cards. Some students might do well on state tests without completing their homework, but what about the students who performed well on the tests and did their homework? It is quite possible that the homework helped・ Yet rather than empowering teachers to find what works best for their students, the policy imposes a flat, across-the-board rule.At the same time, the policy addresses none of the truly thorny questions about homework. If the district finds homework to be unimportant to its students' academic achievement, it should move to reduce or eliminate the assignments, not make them count for almost nothinq. Conversely, if homework does nothinq to ensure that the homework students are not assigning more than they are willing to review and correct. The homework rules should be put on hold while the school board, which is responsible for setting educati onal policy, looks into the matter and con ducts public heari ngs. It is not too late for L.A. Urdfied to do homework right.21.It is implied in paragraph 1 that nowadays homework _______ .[A]is receiving more criticism[B]is no Ion ger an educational ritual[C]is not required for advaneed courses[D]is gaining more pref ere nces22.L.A.Unified has made the rule about homework mainly because poor students _______ ・[A]tend to have moderate expectations for their education[B]have asked for a different educational standard[C]may have problems finishing their homework[D]have voiced their complaints about homework23.According to Paragraph 3z one problem with the policy is that it may _____ ・[A]discourage students from doing homework[B]result in students' indifferenee to their report cards[C]undermine the authority of state tests[D]restrict teachers* power in education24.As mentioned in Paragraph 4, a key question unanswered about homework iswhether _____ .[A]it should be eliminated[B]it counts much in schooling[C]it places extra burdens on teachers[D]it is important for grades25.A suitable title for this text could be ______ ・[A]Wrong Interpretation of an Educational Policy[B]A Welcomed Policy for Poor Students[C]Thorny Questions about Homework[D]A Faulty Approach to HomeworkText2Pretty in pink: adult women do not rememer being so obsessed with the colour, yet it is pervasive in our young girls' lives. Tt is not that pink is intrinsically bad, but it is such a tiny sliceof the rainbow and, though it may celebrate girlhood in one way, it also repeatedly and firmly fuses girls' identity to appearanee. Then it presents that connection, even amonq two・year-olds, between girls as not only innocent but as evidenee of innocenee. Looking around, Idespaired at the singular lack of imagination about girls' lives and interests.Girls' attraction to pink may seem unavoidable, somehow encoded in their DNA, but accordingto Jo Paoletti, an associate professor of American Studies, it is not. Children were not colour-coded at all until the early 20th century: in the era before domestic washinq machines all babieswore white as a practical matter, since the only way of getting clothes clean was to boil them. What s more, both boys and girls wore what were thought of as gendereutral dresses.Whennursery colours were introduced, pink was actually considered the more masculine colour, apastel version of red, which was associated with strength. Blue, with its intimations of the Virgin Mary, constancy and faithfulness, symbolised femininity. It was not until the mid・l980s, when amplifying age and sex differences became a dominant children' s marketing strategy, that pink fully came into its own, when it began to seem inherently attractive to girls, part of what defined them as female, at least for the first few critical years.I had not realised how profoundly marketing trends dictated our perception of what is naturalto kins, includinq our core beliefs about their psychological development Take the toddler. I assumed that phase was something experts developed after years of research into childrerT s behaviour: wrong. Turns out, acdording to Daniel Cook, a historian of childhood consumerism, it was popularised as a marketing trick by clothing manufacrurers in the 1930s.Trade publications coun selled departme nt stores that, in order to in crease sales, they should create a "third stepping stone" between infant wear and older kids' clothes. Tt was only after "toddler" became a comm on shoppers1term that it evolved into a broadly accepted developmental stage. Splittinq kids, or adultsjnto ever-tinier categories has proved a sure-fire way to boost profits. And one of the easiest ways to segment a market is to mag nify gen der differe nces 一or in vent them where they did not previously exist.26.By sayi ng "it is...the rain bow" (Li ne 3, Para.l) , the author means pink ______ .[A]should not be the sole representation of girlhood[B]should not be associated with girls' innocence[C]cannot explain girls' lack of imagination[D]ca nnot in flue nee girls* lives and interests27.According to Paragraph 2, which of the following is true of colors?[A]Colors are encoded in girls' DNA.[B]Blue used to be regarded as the color for girls・[C]Pink used to be a neutral color in symbolising genders.[D]White is prefered by babies.28.The author suggests that our perception of children's psychological development was much in flue need by ___ ・[A]the marketing of products for children[B]the observation of children's nature[C]researches into children's behavior[D]studies of childhood con sumption29.______________________________________________________________ We may learn from Paragraph 4 that department stores were advised to _____________________ ・[A]focus on infant wear and older kids* clothes[B]attach equal importance to different genders[C]classify consumers into smaller groups[D]create some comm on shoppers' terms30.lt can be concluded that girls* attraction to pink seems to be ______ ・[A]clearly explained by their inborn tendency[B]fully understood by clothing manufacturers[C]mainly imposed by profit-driven businessmen[D]well interpreted by psychological expertsText 3In 2010. a federal judge shook America's biotech industry to its core. Companies had won patents for isolated DNA for decades-by 2005 some 20% of human genes were parented. Butin March 2010 a judge ruled that genes were unpatentable. Executives were violentlyaqitated・The Biotechnology Industry Organisation (BIO), a trade group, assured members that this wasjust a "preliminary step" in a Ion ger battle ・On July 29th they were relieved, at least temporarily. A federal appeals court overturned the prior decision/uli ng that Myriad Gen etics could in deed holb pate nts to two genss that help forecast a woman*s risk of breast cancer. The chief executive of Myriad, a company in Utah, said the ruling was a blessing to firms and patients alike. But as companies continue their attempts at personalised medicine, the courts will remain rather busy. The Myriad case itself is probably not over Critics make three main arguments against gene patents: a gene is a product of nature, so it may not be patented; gene patents suppress innovation rather than reward it; and patents' monopolies restrict access to genetic tests such as Myriad's・ A growing number seem to st year a federal task-force urged reform for patents related to genetic tests. In October the Department of Justice filed a brief in the Myriad case, arguing that an isolated DNA molecule "is no less a product of nature... than are cotton fibres that have been separated from cotton seeds."Despite the appeals court's decision, big questions remain unanswered・For example, it is unclear whether the sequencing of a whole genome violates the patents of indivi dual genes within it. The case may yet reach the Supreme Court. As the industry advances ,however, other suits may have an even greater panies areunlikely to file many more patents for human DNA molecules-most are already patented or in the public domain .firms are now studyinq how qenes intcractjookinq for correlations that might be used to determine the causes of disease or predict a drug ' s efficacy z companies are eager to win patents for 'connect!ng the dits' z expaains hans sauer z alawyer for the BIO.Their success may be determined by a suit related to this issue, brought by the Mayo Clinic, which the Supreme Court will hear in its next term. The BIO rtcently held a converttion which in eluded seddions to coach lawyers on the shifting Ian dscape for pate nts. Each meeting was packed.31.it canbe learned from paragraph I that the biotech companies would like ________ ・A.their executives to be activeB.judges to rule out gene patentingC.genes to be patentablcD.the BIO to issue a warning32.those who are against gene patents believe that _______ ・A.genetic tests are not reliableB.only mamade products are patentableC.patents on genes depend much on innovatiaonD.courts should restrict access to gene tic tests33.according to hans sauer, companies are eager to win patents for ________ .A.establishing disease comelationsB.discover!ng gene interact!onsC.drawing pictures of genes□.identifying human DNA34.By saying "each meeting was packed" (line4r para6)the author means that __________ .A.the supreme court was authoritativeB.the BIO was a powerful organizationC.gene patenting was a great concernwyers were keen to attend conventiongs35.generally speaking z the author' s attitude toward gene patenting is _________ ・A.criticalB.supportiveC.scornfulD.objectiveText 4The great recession may be over, but this era of high joblessness is probably beginning. Beforeit endsjt will likely change the I讦e course and character of a qeneration of younq adults. And ultimately, it is likely to reshape our politics, our culture, and the character of our society foryears. No one tries harder than the jobless to find silver linings in this national economic disaster. Many said that unemployment, while extremely painful, had improved them in some ways; theyhad become less materialistic and more finan cially prude nt; they were more aware of thestruggles of others .In limited respects, perhaps the recessio n will leave society better off. Atthe very least, it has awoken us from our national fever dream of easy riches and bigger houses, and put a necessary end to an era of reckless personal spending. But for the most part, these ben efits seem thin, uncertain, and far off. In The MoralConsequences of Economic Growth, the economic historian Benjamin Friedman argues thatboth inside and outside the U.S. Jengthy periods of economic stagnation or decline havealmost always left society more measpirited and less inclusive, and have usually stopped orreversed the adva nee of rights and freedoms. Anti-immigra nt sen time nt typically in creases,as does conf lict betwee n races and classes.Income in equality usually falls during a recession, but it has not shr unk in this one,. Indeed, this period of economic weakness may reinforce class divides, and decrease opportunities to cross them-・・especially for young people・The research of Till Von Wachter, the econo mist in Columbia University, suggests that not all people qraduati ng into a recessi on see theirlife chances dimmed: those with degrees from elite universities catch up fairly quickly to wherethey otherwise would have been if they had graduated in better times; it is the masses beneaththem that are left behind. In the inter net age, it is particularly easy to see the resentme nt that has always been hiddenwinthin American society. More difficult, in the moment, is discerning precisely how these leantimes are affecting society7s character. In many respects, the U.S. was more socially tolerant entering this resession than at any time in its history, and a variety of national polls on social conflict since then have shown mixed results・ We will have to wait and see exactly how these hard times will reshape our social fabric. But they certainly it, and all the more so the longerthey extend.36.By saying "to find silver linings" (Line l,Para.2)the author suggest that the jobless tryto ______ .[A]seek subsidies from the government[B]explore reasons for the unermployment[C]make profits from the troubled economy[D]look on the bright side of the recession37.According to Paragraph 2,the recession has made people ______ ・[A]realize the national dream[B]struggle against each other[C]challenge their I讦estyle[D]reconsider their lifestyle3&Benjamin Friedman believe that economic recessions may ______ .[A]impose a heavier burden on immigrants[B]bring out more evils of human nature[C]Promote the advanee of rights and freedoms[D]ease conflicts between races and classes39.The research of Till Von Wachther suggests that in recession graduates from elite universities tend to ______ .[A]lag behind the others due to decreased opportunities[B]catch up quickly with experieneed employees[C]see their I讦e chances as dimmed as the others'[D]recover more quickly than the others40.The author thinks that the in flue nee of hard times on society is ____ ・[A]certain[B]positive[C]trivial[D]destructivePart BDirections:Read the following text and answer the questions by finding information from the left column that corresponds to each of the marked details given in the right column. Well, not any more it is not.Suddenly, Britain looks to have fallen out with its favourite historical form. This could be no more than a passing literary craze, but it also points to a broader truth about how we now approach the past: less concerned with learning from forefathers and more interested in feeling their pain. Today, we want empathy, not inspiration. From the earliest days of the Renaissance, the writing of history meant recounting the exemplary lives of great men. In 3337, Petrarch began work on his rambling writing De VirisIllustribus 一On Famous Men; highlighting the virtus (or virtue) of classical heroes. Petrarch celebrated their greatness in conquerinq fortune and risinq to the top. This was thebiographical tradition which Niccolo Machiavelli turned on its head・In The Prince z the championed cunning ruthlessness, and boldness, rather than virtue, mercy and justice, as the skills of successful leaders.Over time, the attributes of greatness shifted. The Romantics commemorated the leadinq painters and authors of their day, stressinq the uniqueness of the artist's personal experienee rather than public glory. By contrast, the Victorian author Samual Smiles wrote Self-Help as a catalogue of the worthy lives of enqineers , industrialists and explores . "The valuable examples which they furnish of the power of self・help, if patient purpose, resolute working and steadfast integrity, issuinq in the formulation of truly noble and many character, exhibit,"wrote Smiles."what it is in the power of each to accomplish for himself"His biographies of James Walt, Richard Arkwright and Josiah Wedgwood were held up as beacons to guide the working man through his difficult life. This was all a bit bourgeois for Thomas Carlyle, who focused his biographies on the truly heroic lives of Martin Luther, Oliver Cromwell and Napoleon Bonaparte. These epochal figures represe nted lives hard to imitate, but to be ack no wledged as possessing higher authority than mere mortals.Communist Man讦esto. For them, history did nothin q,it possessed no immense wealth nor waged battles: "It is man, real, living man who does all that o " And history should be the story of the masses and their record of struggle. As such, it needed to appreciate the economic realities, the social con texts and power relati ons in which each epoch stood. For: "Men make their own history, but they do not make it just as they please; they do not make it under circumstances chosen by themselves, but under circumstances directly found, given and transmitted from the past."This was the tradition which revolutionized our appreciation of the past. Mark youranswers on ANSWER SHEET 1. (40 points)Passage 1Protests at the use of animals in research have taken a new and fearful character in Britain with the attempted murder of two British scientists by the terrorist technique of the pre-plantedcar-bomb.The research community will rightly be alarmed at these developments, which have two objectives: to arouse public attention and to frighten people working in research with animals. The first need is that everything should be done to identify those responsible for the crimes and to put them on trail. The Defence Research Society has taken the practical step of offering a reward of 10,000 pounds for information leading to those responsible, but past experience is not encouraging. People are unlikely to be tempted by such offers. The professional police will similarly be confronted by the usual problem of finding a needle in a haystack. That is why the intellectual (知识分子) community in Britain and elsewhere must act more vigorously in its own defence. There are several steps that can be taken, of which the chief one is to demand of all the organizations that exist with the declared objectives of safeguarding the interests of animals that they should declare clearly where they stand on violence towards people. And it will not be enough for the chairmen and chairwomen of these organizations to utter placatory (安抚的) statements on behalf of alltheir members. These people should also undertake that it will be a test of continuing membership in their organizations that members and would be members should declare that they will take no part in acts of violence against human beings. Even such undertakings would not be fully effective: people, after all, can lie. But at least they would distinguish the organizations entitled to a continuing voice in the dialogue with the research community about the rights of animals in research from the organizations that deserve no say.21.The words “these developments”(Para. 2, Line 1) most probably refer to ________.A) the acts of violence against scientistsB) the use of animals in researchC) the techniques of planting bombs in carsD) the establishment of new animal protection organization22.Which of the following is TRUE according to the passage?A) The police abandoned their efforts to find the criminals.B) The terrorists escaped with the help of their organizations.C) The attempted murder caused grave anxiety among British scientists.D) People sy MPA thized murder caused grave anxiety among British scientists.23.The author’s purpose in writing his article is to demand that animal-protecting organizations ____.A) declare their objectives clearlyB) give up the use of violenceC) continue the dialogue with the scientific communityD) help to find those responsible for the attempted murder24.In the author’s opinion ________.A) since people can lie, the problem about their rights of scientists can’t be solvedB) animal-protecting organizations about be held responsible for acts of violence against scientistsC) animal protection organizations should be declared illegalD) the scientists should take effective measures to protect themselves25.What does the word “they”(Para. 3, Line 4) refer to?A) The animal-protecting organizations.B) The organizations that will talk with the research community.C) Those who support the use of animals in research.D) Those who support the animal-protection organizations.Passage 2Judging from recent surveys, most experts in sleep behavior agree that there is virtually an epidemic (流行病) of sleepiness in the nation. “I can’t think of a single study that hasn’t found Americans getting less sleep than they ought to,”says Dr. David. Even people who think they are sleeping enough would probably be better off with more rest. The beginning of our sleep-deficit (睡眠不足) crisis can be traced to the invention of the light bulb a century ago. From diary entries and other personal accounts from the 18th and 19th centuries, sleep scientists have reached the conclusion that the average person used to sleep about 9.5 hours a night. “The best sleep habits once were forced on us, when we had nothing to do in the evening down on the farm, and it was dark.”By the 1920.s and 1960s, the sleep schedule had been reduced dramatically, to between 7.5 and eight hours, and most people had to wake to an alarm clock. “People cheat on their sleep, and they don’t even realize they’re doing it,”says Dr. David. “They think they’re okay because they can get by on 6.5 hours, when they really need 7.5, eight or even more to feel ideally vigorous.”Perhaps the most merciless robber of sleep, researchers say is the complexity of the day. Whenever pressures from work, family, friends and community mount, many people consider sleep the leastexpensive item on his programme. “In our society, you’re co nsidered dynamic if you say you only need 5.5 hours’sleep. If you’re got to get 8.5 hours, people think you lack drive and ambition.”To determine the consequences of sleep deficit, researchers have put subjects through a set of psychological and performance tests requiring them, for instance, to add columns of numbers or recall a passage read to them only minutes earlier. “We’ve found that if you’re in sleep deficit, performance suffers,”says Dr. David. “Short-term memory is weakened, as are abilities to make decisions and to concentrate.”26.People in the 18th and 19th centuries used to sleep about 9.5 hours a night because they had ___ .A) no drive and ambitionB) no electric lightingC) the best sleep habitsD) nothing to do in the evening27.According to Dr. David, Americans ________.A) are ideally vigorous even under the pressure of lifeB) often neglect the consequences of sleep deficitC) do not know how to relax themselves properlyD) can get by on 6.5 hours of sleep28.Many Americans believe that ________.A) sleep is the first thing that can be sacrificed when one is busyB) they need more sleep to cope with the complexities of everyday lifeC) to sleep is something one can do at any time of the dayD) enough sleep promotes people’s drive and ambiti on29.The word “subjects”(Line 1, Para. 4) refers to ________.A) the performance tests used in the study of sleep deficitB) special branches of knowledge that are being studiedC) people whose behavior or reactions are being studiedD) the psychological consequences of sleep deficit30.It can be concluded from the passage that one should sleep as many hours as is necessary to ___.A) improve one’s memory dramaticallyB) be considered dynamic by other peopleC) maintain one’s daily scheduleD) feel energetic and perform adequatelyPassage 3Is language, like food, a basic human need without which a child at a critical period of life can be starved and damaged? Judging from the drastic experiment of Frederick II in the thirteenth century, it may be. Hoping to discover what language a child would speak if he heard no mother tongue, he told the nurses to keep silent. All the infants died before the first year. But clearly there was more than lack of language here. What was missing was good mothering. Without good mothering, in the first year of life especially, the capacity to survive is seriously affected.Today no such severe lack exists as that ordered by Frederick. Nevertheless, some children are still backward in speaking. Most often the reason for this is that the mother is insensitive to the signals of the infant, whose brain is programmed to learn language rapidly. If these sensitive periods are neglected, the ideal time for acquiring skills passes and they might never be learned so easily again. A bird learns to sing and to fly rapidly at the right time, but the process is slow and hard once the critical stage has passed.Experts suggest that speech stages are reached in a fixed sequence and at a constant age, but there are cases where speech has started late in a child who eventually turns out to be of high IQ. At twelve weeks a baby smiles and makes vowel-like sounds; at twelve months he can speak simple words and understand simple谢谢观赏commands; at eighteen months he has a vocabulary of three to fifty words. At three he knows about 1,000 words which he can put into sentences, and at four his language differs from that of his parents in style rather than grammar.Recent evidence suggests that an infant is born with the capacity to speak. What is special about谢谢观赏。

千万不要来一句“Sorry, my English is poor”。
常见的开头有:I am glad to be here for this interview. First let me intr-oduce myself. I’m ...(姓名), my Number is…(编号).
Could you speak slowly ?";“I am sorry! I beg your pardon?";"I don't understand your question, could you repeat it again?"二、常见问题在准备的过程中,一定不要光抄模板,要结合自己的经历和见解来准备,要让自己回答的问题和自我介绍融为一体,时刻都在加强考官对你的印象。
如果你的回答没有圆回来,是很容易被考官抓住把柄,然后问个没完的,你再一紧张那现场的表现就有些不可控了。
