Christmas cards
The custom of sending Christmas cards started in Britain in 1840 when the first 'Penny Post' public postal deliveries began. (Helped by the new railway system, the public postal service was the 19th century's communication revolution, just as email is for us today.) As printing methods improved, Christmas cards were produced in large numbers from about 1860. They became even more popular in Britain when a card could be posted in an unsealed envelope for one half-penny half the price of an ordinary letter. Traditionally, Christmas cards showed religious pictures - Mary, Joseph and baby Jesus, or other parts of the Christmas story. Today, pictures are often jokes, winter pictures, Father Christmas, or romantic scenes of life in past times.

The main character in this play — Scrooge is in fact blamed by the writer. Dickens set a negative example to show how important unselfishness and generousness are to our life!
I felt so touched that I decided to change my life. So I spared no time in buying a big turkey for them and went to their house. They felt very surprised because they hadn’t expected that I would be so generous.
The spirit of Christmas is something that makes people think about their mistakes and how to improve their life every year. Many people make plans about how they will change the way

Four ghosts come to show Scrooge into a dream.
His ex-partner Jacob Marley warns…,the Ghost of Christmas Past shows him what happened when he was young, the Ghost of Christmas Present shows him what is happening at his clerk Cratchit’s home, the Ghost of Christmas Future shows him what will happen in the future.

1. What’s the writing characteristics
of it?
The text is a play, which consists of several different scenes. In the different scenes, Scrooge is the main character. In these scenes, we can clearly see that Scrooge is very cold and unfriendly to his clerks. The novel is well written because the heroes are vivid and impressive.
2. What’s the purpose of the writer to create the play?
The play reflects the writer’s dream that everyone should be kind and friendly to others and should try his best to help others no matter whether he is poor or rich. Only in this way can he make his life worthwhile and can he be respected by others.
Sum up
The play describes Scrooge’s actions on Christmas Eve. From his words and deeds we can see that he was a very cold and selfish person. The writer — Dickens wanted to tell us that such a person like Scrooge wouldn’t be happy and be unpopular because he didn’t know “give”.

On December 24th ,when I was asleep ghosts took me to the house where I lived when I was young. I was surprised to find my younger self was talking with my girlfriend. She said she wanted to say goodbye to me because she thought I only cared about making money, which made me so sad that I wanted to leave as soon as possible.
Then ghosts took me to my employee—Bob’s house where they were having a Christmas dinner. His son—Tiny Tim was seriously ill but he couldn’t get medicine because of their poverty. His wife even didn’t want to toast to me.
