9 Rules for Turning Endings into New Beginnings
9010法则英文版
Discover the 90/10 Principle. It will change your life (at least the way you react to situations). What is this principle? 10% of life is made up of what happens to you. 90% of life is decided by how you react. What does this mean? We really have no control over 10% of what happens to us. We cannot stop the car from breaking down. The plane will be late arriving, which throws our whole schedule off. A driver may cut us off in traffic. We have no control over this 10%. The other 90% is different. You determine the other 90%.How? ……….By your reaction. You cannot control a red light. But you can control your reaction. Don't let people fool you; You can control how you react.Let's use an example. You are eating breakfast with your family. Your daughter knocks over a cup of coffeeonto your business shirt. You have no control over what just happened. What happens next will be determined by how you react. You curse. You harshly scold your daughter for knocking the cup over. She breaks dow n in tears. After scolding her, you turn to your spouse and criticize her for placing the cup too close to the edge of the table. A short verbal battle follows. You storm upstairs and change your shirt. Back downstairs, you find your daughter has been too busy crying to finish breakfast and get ready for school. She misses the bus. Your spouse must leave immediately for work. You rush to the car and drive your daughter to school. Because you are late, you drive 40 miles an hour in a 30 mph speed limit. After a 15-minute delay and throwing $60 traffic fine away, you arrive at school. Your daughter runs into the building without saying goodbye. After arriving at the office 20 minutes late, you find you forgot your briefcase. Your day has started terrible. As it continues, it seems to get worse and worse. You look forward to coming home. When you arrive home, you find small wedge in your relationship with your spouseand daughter. Why? …. Because of how you reacted in the morning. Why did you have a bad day?A) Did the coffee cause it?B) Did your daughter cause it?C) Did the policeman cause it?D) Did you cause it?The answer is “D".You had no control over what happened with the coffee. How you reacted in those 5 seconds is what caused your bad day. Here is what could have and should have happened.Coffee splashes over you. Your daughter is about to cry. You gently say, "Its ok honey, you just need to be more careful next time". Grabbing a towel you rush upstairs. After grabbing a new shirt and your briefcase, you come back down in time to look through the window and see your child getting on the bus. She turns and waves. You arrive 5 minutes early and cheerfully greet the staff. Your boss comments on how good the day you are having.Notice the difference? Two different scenarios. Both started the same. Both ended different. Why?Because of how you REACTED.You really do not have any control over 10% of what happens. The other 90% was determined by your reaction. Here are some ways to apply the 90/10 principle. If someone says something negative about you, don't be a sponge. Let the attack roll off like water on glass. You don't have to let the negative comment affect you!React properly and it will not ruin your day. A wrong reaction could result in losing a friend, being fired, getting stressed out etc.How do you react if someone cuts you off in traffic? Do you lose your temper? Pound on the steering wheel? A friend of mine had the steering wheel fall off) Do you curse? Does your blood pressure skyrocket? Do you try and bump them? WHO CARES if you arrive ten seconds later at work? Why let the cars ruin your drive?Remember the 90/10 principle, and do not worry about it.You are told you lost your job.Why lose sleep and get irritated? It will work out. Use your worrying energy and time into finding another job.The plane is late; it is going to mangle your schedule for the day. Why take outpour frustration on the flight attendant? She has no control over w hat is going on.Use your time to study, get to know the other passenger. Why get stressed out? It will just make things worse. Now you know the 90-10 principle. Apply it and you will be amazed at the results. You will lose nothing if you try it. The 90-10 principle is incredible. Very few know and apply this principle. The result?Millions of people are suffering from undeserved stress, trials, problems and heartache. We all must understand and apply the 90/10 principle. It can change your life!!!Enjoy….。

词汇学考试重点
The relations between sound and meaningSound is the physical aspect of a word and meaning is what the sound refers to. Their symbolic connection is almost always arbitrary and conventional. They are not intrinsically related. People of different languages used different sounds to express the same concept. Woman, eg. becomes frau in German, femme in French and funv in Chinese. In the same language the same sound can denote different things, e.g. write, right & rite; night&knight.Sound and formNaturally the written form should agree with the oral form. In other words, the sound should be consistent with the form. With the development of the language, more and more differences arose between the two. (1) The English alphabet was adopted from the Romans(2) Pronunciation has changed more rapidly than spelling over the years(3)The stabilization of spelling by printing in the late 1500 breaks the synchronized change of sound and spelling.(4) Borrowing introduces many words which are against English rules of Pronunciation and spelling.Four classes of loan-words:Denizens, Aliens, translation-loans, Semantic-loansFeatures of old English:Old English had a small size of vocabulary with only about 50,000 to 60,000 words which are almost monogeneous and entirely Germanic with only a few borrowings from Latin and Scandinavian. It was a highly inflected language of which words are full of endings (nouns, pronouns, adjectives, verbs, and adverbs had complex systems of endings or vowel changes or both.)Features of Middle English:A period of great changes, changes more extensive and fundamental than those that had taken place at any time before and since. Steady erosion of the Old English inflectional systems: endings of nouns and adjectives marking distinction of number and case and often of gender lost theirdistinctive forms, that is, ME becomes a language with leveled endings and is much closer to modern English.Characteristics of Compounds:Compounds have noticeable charavteristics which may in most cases differentiate themselves from noun phrases in the following four aspects:1)Phonological Features.(Compound:a’ fat head; Free phraise:a fat’ head) 2)Semantic Features: Compounds differ from phrases in their semantic ‘one-wordness’. Every compound should express a single idea just as one word. For instance, a green hand is an ‘inexperienced person’, not a hand that is green in color.3)Grammatical Features (Compound: fine art; Free phrase: finer art) 4)Orthographical FeaturesWhat are the characteristics of prefixes and suffixes?Prefixes do not generally change the word-class of the base but only modify its meaning. Unlike prefixes which primarily effect a semantic modification of the base, suffixes have only a small semantic role, their primary function being to change the grammatical function of the base, the change of the word class with a slight modification of meaning. What is conversion?Conversion is the formation of new words by converting words of one class to another class, by turning words of one part of speech to those of another part of speech in traditional terms. What do you think of the alternatives functional shift and zero -derivation?Since the words that are made do not change in morphological structure but in function, this process is also known as functional shift. (round- is used as a different part of speech, noun, verb, preposition, adjective). Conversion is generally considered to be a derivational proceess whereby an item is adapted or converted to a new word class without the addition of an affix. Hence the name zero-derivation.(Take single and simple for example, single is one of zero-derivation whereas simple is one of suffixation as the suffix -ify is added to make simple a verb)In what way is conversion different from suffixation?Suffixation is the formation of new words by adding suffixes to stems. Unlike prefixes which primarily change the meaning of the stem, suffixes have only a small semantic role, their primary function being to change the grammatical function of stems. In other words, they mainly change the word class. However, they may also add attached meaning to the stem. For example, lucky(adj.)+ -ly luckily(adv)Conversion is a word-formation whereby a word of a certain word-class is shifted into a word of another without the addition of an affix. It is also called zero derivation. For example, believe(V.)/belief(N); advice(N.)/advise(V.)What classes of words are most frequently converted?Words produced by conversion are primarily nouns, adjectives, and verbs. The most productive, however, is the conversion that takes place between nouns and verbs. It deserves nothing that conversion is not only a change of grammatical function of the item involved but with it the different range of meaning it originally carried.Explain partial conversion and full conversion with examples.Words fully converted: A noun fully converted from an adjective has all the characteristics of nouns. It can take an indefinite article or -(e)s to indicate singular or plural number.( Common adjectives: a white, a crazy, angries, necessaries. Participles and others: a given) Words partially converted: Nouns partially converted from adjectives do not possess all the qualities a noun does.(the poor, the rich, the young)What changes are occasionally involved in the process of conversion? In some cases, conversion is accompanied by certain non-affixal changes which affect pronunciation or spelling or stress distribution. The most common changes that take place when some nouns are converted to verbs are the change from the last voiceless consonant to a voiced one, the shift of stress from the initial position to end position and alterations in spelling. What is motivation?Motivation refers to the connection between the linguistic symbol and its meaning, or the logical reason why a certain word has a certain meaning. Motivation includes the following 4 types. Does motivation contradict the theory of ‘arbitrariness’ and ‘conventionality’ concerning the relationship between linguistic symbols and their senses? As we know, the relationship between the word-form and meaning is conventional and arbitrary, most words can be said to be non-motivated. That is, the connection of the sign and meaning does not account for the meaning. Nevertheless, English does have words the meanings of which are transparent and reasonably explicable. What are the four types of motivation? Explain them with examples.1.Onomatopoeic motivation. For example, bow-wow, bang, ping-pong, miaow, cuckoo, tick-tuck, ha ha and the like are onomatopoetically motivated words.2.Morphological motivation. For instance, airmail means ‘to mail by air’; reading-lamp is ‘the lamp for reading’; miniskirt is ‘a small skirt’; and hopeful means ‘full of hope’.3.Semantic motivation. For example, when we say the mouth of a river, we associate ‘the opening part of the river’ with ‘ the mouth of a human being or an animal’. When we use the foot of the mountain, we are comparing ‘the lower part of the mountain’ to ‘the foot of a human being’.4.Etymological motivation. For example, when people use pen for any writing tool through it originally refers to ‘a heavy quill or feather’.What are the characteristics of conceptual meaning and associative meaning?Conceptual meaning is given in the dictionary and forms the core of word meaning. It is denotative in that it is concerned with the relationship between a word and the thing it denotes, or refers to. Associative meaning is the secondary meaning supplemented to the conceptual meaning. It differs from the conceptual meaning in that it is open-ended and indeterminate, liable to the influence of such factors as culture, experience, religion, geographical region, class background, education, etc. Affective meaning and examplesAffective meaning is concerned with the attitudes of the speaker or writer. This meaning can be overtly and explicitly conveyed simply by the choice of the right words as many have emotive content in themselves. For example, vicious, love, hate, oh, alas, ect.Differentiation of homonyms from polysemants?Homonyms have different sources, meanings are not related to one another and are different lexemes which have the same form, listed as separate entries in dictionaries.polysemous words are the same lexeme which has several different meanings listed under one headword in dictionary. They are developed from the same source, meanings are related & can be traced back to one central meaningDifferences between ‘pretty’ and ‘handsome’They are difference in application. We say pretty girl/ child/ flower, but we can only say handsome boy/ man/ house/ car. Some of the characteristics of antonyms?1) Antonyms are classified on the basis of semantic opposition2) A word which has more than one meaning can have more than one antonym.3) Antonyms differ in semantic inclusion.4) Contrary terms are gradable antonyms, differing in degree of intensity, so each has its own corresponding opposite.Study the following passages and explain the rhetoric use of homonyms.1.The following conversation takes place between a butcher and a customer.A: ‘How come your sausages taste like meat at one end, but like bread at the other?’ the women asked.B: The butcher replied: ‘Madam, in times like these no butcher can make both ends meat.’2.One swallow doesn’t make a summer, but it surely warms you on a cold winter day.3.Ben Battle was a warrior bold, And used to war’s alarms: But a cannon-ball took off his legs, Sohe laid down his arms.1.‘Make both ends meat’ is a parody of ‘make both ends meet’ which means ‘have enough money for one’s needs’. Here te butcher cleverly uses the pair of homonyms ‘meet’ and ‘meat’ to make a pun. It makes a proper answer to the lady’s question. 1)Butchers cannot make both ends meat (make whole sausages with all meat) because they cannot make both ends meet (If they made sausages with only meat, which is more costly, they would not earn enough to survive.) 2)Don’t complain. All the butchers do the same. I am not only one who is making sausages with bread.2. Swallow is a bird which is seen in summer. Bur by one swallow we see, we cannot deduce that it is already summer time. Swallow can also mean a mouthful of wine. On a cold winter day, if one has a swallow of wine, one may feel warm.3. Arms has two meanings: 1) weapons; 2) the human upper limbs. Since "a cannon-ball took off his legs" , the soldier was not able to fight on, so he "laid down his arms", which means "surrender". It can also mean he laid down his upper limbs. What are the major sources of English synonyms?1.Borrowing. For example, ask(native), question(French), interrogate(Latin); time(native), age(French), epoch(Latin).2)Dialects and regional English. For example, railway(BrE)/ railroad(AmE); lift(BrE)/ elevator(AmE)3)Figurative and euphemistic use of words. For example, occupation(profession)/ walk of life(fig); dreamer/ star-gazer(fig)4)Coincidence with idiomatic expressions. For example: finish--get through, help--lend one a hand.。

全文分为作者个人简介和正文两个部分:作者个人简介:Hello everyone, I am an author dedicated to creating and sharing high-quality document templates. In this era of information overload, accurate and efficient communication has become especially important. I firmly believe that good communication can build bridges between people, playing an indispensable role in academia, career, and daily life. Therefore, I decided to invest my knowledge and skills into creating valuable documents to help people find inspiration and direction when needed.正文:写一篇跟古梨树还有下一个春天差不多的英语作文全文共3篇示例,供读者参考篇1The Gnarled Apple TreeThere's an old apple tree that grows behind my grandparents' house in the countryside. For as long as I can remember, it has been there, twisted and gnarled, yet stillstubbornly clinging to life. Every spring, tender green buds emerge from its rough bark, and a few months later, a spattering of fruit appears among the sparse leaves. The apples are small, slightly misshapen, and rather tart to the taste. But to me, they represent far more than just a meager harvest. That ancient tree is a living connection to generations past. It was likely planted by my great-grandparents or even their parents before them. Can you imagine all the history it has silently witnessed over the decades? As a young sapling, it may have seen horse-drawn plows turning the soil of the family fields. It watched as my grandparents grew from children into adults, married, and started a family of their own. While empires rose and fell, wars raged and peace treaties were signed, that tree simply carried on its cycle of life, blossoming, bearing fruit, shedding its leaves in the fall, and sleeping through the winter months.I often think about the lives and experiences of those who came before me as I gaze up at the crooked branches reaching towards the sky. What trials and hardships did my ancestors endure? What hopes and dreams did they hold in their hearts? The tree does not share its secrets, but its resilience after over acentury is an unspoken testament to the strength and perseverance of my family line.Despite its aged appearance, there is something beautifully poetic about that old apple tree's refusal to simply give up and wither away. Time after time, the harsh winters try to kill it off, and the searing summer droughts must make its roots cry out for mercy. Storms have likely lashed its trunk and torn away branches over the years. And yet, when spring rolls around again, those buds always return, a herald of rejuvenation and the resurgence of life.I can't help but see my own spirit reflected in that tree's tenacity. As a teenager, I've faced my share of difficulties and disappointments already. Last year's breakup with my first girlfriend left me heartbroken. The year before that, I was devastated when my dreams of making the high school basketball team were crushed. And like any young person, I've struggled with issues of self-confidence, identity, and figuring out my path in life. But no matter how bleak things seem at times, I always remind myself to have faith that brighter days lie ahead, just like the tree taught me through its annual cycle of rebirth. My favorite times are the warm evenings in late spring when I climb up into the tree's sturdy lower branches and let my mindwander. I run my fingers along the rough, ridged bark and consider the stories it could tell if trees could talk. From my peaceful perch, I gaze out over the rambling landscape and find a sense of tranquility that is so rare in our hectic, modern world of constant stimulation and distraction.Up there among the fresh green leaves, I ponder my future and where life will take me after high school graduation next year. Though I'm nervous about leaving behind so much that is familiar, I know that life is a continuous journey of beginnings and endings, just as the tree has new growth and lets go of its old withered foliage year after year. Change can be intimidating, but also invigorating if you embrace it.I think back to how that tree was once a newly planted seedling, dreaming of breaking through the soil and reaching for the sun just as I dream about my own path. Though the way forward is still uncertain, I draw inspiration from the tree's example to keep pressing on with courage and resilience no matter what obstacles I encounter along the way. It has endured and survived so much already through a mix of sheer stubborn determination and an incredible will to live. I can only hope to display that same vital life force in the face of future challenges.Soon, I'll be leaving home and this place that nursed me to adulthood. My grandparents are older now and there's no telling how many more spring awakenings that tree has left in it. Perhaps by the time I'm able to come back and visit years down the road, it will be gone, having completed its long life's journey. Or maybe it will surprise me once more by still clinging to that endless cycle of rebirth.Either way, the impact of that ancient, nameless apple tree will remain deep within my spirit. It incarnates the unbreakable bonds between myself and my roots. It represents the human ability to endure, adapt, and persevere through all of life's hardships. And most of all, it is a powerful reminder that no matter how stale, shrivelled and dead things may seem, the spark of renewal is ever-present and alive for those with the patience and determination to greet the next spring.篇2The Return of Spring: Nature's Perpetual RenewalAs the bitter chill of winter begins to loosen its grip, there emerges a subtle yet undeniable shift in the air. It's a feeling, an intuition that whispers of change on the horizon. For me, this annual transformation holds a profound significance, ametaphor for the cycle of life itself – endings paving the way for new beginnings. It was during a chilly morning stroll that I first noticed the telltale signs. The once barren branches of the ancient pear tree in our backyard had begun to swell with plump buds, eagerly awaiting their moment to unfurl. This gnarled yet steadfast tree, a silent witness to countless seasons, seemed to awaken from its winter slumber, ready to don its verdant mantle once more.In that moment, I was struck by the realization that nature's grand renewal was unfolding before my very eyes. It was a symphony orchestrated by the changing of the seasons, a crescendo of rebirth that swept across the landscape, breathing life into the dormant world. As the days grew longer and warmer, the transformation accelerated. The pear tree's buds burst forth, revealing delicate blossoms that danced in the gentle breeze. Their soft petals, reminiscent of freshly fallen snow, painted the branches in a palette of creamy whites and blushing pinks. It was as if the tree had adorned itself in its finest regalia, celebrating the arrival of spring with unbridled joy.But the pear tree's revival was merely a prelude to the grand spectacle that awaited. Across the neighborhood, a symphony ofvibrant hues emerged, as nature's tapestry was rewoven with brushstrokes of green, yellow, and every shade in between. Lawns that had once been blanketed in slumbering brown awoke to a verdant splendor, while flowerbeds erupted in a kaleidoscope of colors, each bloom a miniature masterpiece. In the distance, the melodic trills of returning songbirds filled the air, their joyous melodies heralding the season's change. These feathered orchestrators, having journeyed from far-flung lands, added their voices to nature's grand chorus, composing a symphony that celebrated life's resilience and the eternal cycle of renewal. As I watched this spectacle unfold, I couldn't help but draw parallels to my own journey through life. Just as the pear tree had shed its leaves and endured the harsh winter, only to reemerge resplendent in the spring, so too had I weathered my own storms and challenges. The tree's resilience reminded me that even in the darkest of times, the promise of renewal lies dormant, waiting to be awakened by the warm embrace of hope and perseverance. Moreover, the cyclical nature of the seasons mirrored the ebb and flow of our own lives. Just as winter inevitably gives way to spring, so too do our personal trials and tribulationseventually yield to brighter days. The pear tree's annual rebirth served as a poignant reminder that life is a continuous cycle of growth, change, and transformation – a tapestry woven from moments of joy and sorrow, triumph and adversity. In this grand symphony of renewal, each element played its part, from the awakening buds to the returning songbirds. It was a reminder that we, too, are interconnected threads in the vast tapestry of life, our individual stories woven into the grander narrative of existence. Just as the pear tree depended on the nourishing soil, the warm sun, and the gentle rains to thrive, so too do we rely on the intricate web of relationships, experiences, and environments that shape our lives. As I stood beneath the pear tree's canopy, basking in the soft glow of its blossoms, I felt a profound sense of wonder and gratitude. This annual spectacle, a testament to nature's resilience and the unwavering march of time, had become a cherished ritual – a reminder to embrace the present moment and to find hope in the promise of tomorrow. For in the end, the return of spring is not merely a seasonal shift, but a metaphor for the enduring human spirit. It is a celebration of life's capacity to renew itself, to rise from the ashes of adversity and bloom anew, more vibrant and radiant thanbefore. And as I gazed upon the pear tree, its branches heavy with the weight of new life, I knew that this cyclical dance would continue, year after year, a perpetual affirmation of nature's unwavering resilience and the enduring promise of a new dawn.篇3The Ancient Pear Tree and RebirthAs the winter chill begins to fade and the earth stirs from its slumber, I find myself drawn to the ancient pear tree that stands sentinel in our schoolyard. This gnarled and weathered tree, a living witness to countless springs, holds a special place in my heart. Each year, as the first hints of warmth caress the air, I eagerly await the moment when the tree's bare branches begin to swell with promise. Like a maestro conducting a symphony, nature orchestrates a miraculous transformation before our very eyes. The tiny buds, once tightly furled, unfurl their delicate petals, revealing a tapestry of soft whites and pinks that seem to blush at the touch of the morning sun. These fragile blooms, ephemeral in their beauty, are nature's first whispers of renewal, a gentle reminder that life persists even in the face of winter's harsh embrace. As the blossoms reach their peak, the schoolyard becomes a canvas of ethereal beauty, adorned with a confetti of petals that dance on the breeze. It is during these fleeting moments that I feel a profound connection to the ancient pear tree, a living embodiment of the cycle of life, death, and rebirth. In the stillness of the early morning, I often find myself drawn to the tree, seeking solace in its enduring presence. Beneath its branches, I can almost hear the whispers of generations past, echoing through the centuries. This tree, a silent witness to the ebb and flow of human existence, has stood resolute through wars, famines, and the relentless march of progress.Yet, even in the face of adversity, the ancient pear tree continues to bloom, a testament to the resilience of nature and the indomitable spirit of life. Its blossoms are a poignant reminder that beauty can flourish even in the most unlikely of places, a beacon of hope in a world that often seems consumed by darkness. As the petals begin to fall, carpeting the ground with a fragrant tapestry, I am reminded of the impermanence of all things. The fleeting beauty of the blooms serves as a poignantmetaphor for the transient nature of our own existence, a gentle nudge to cherish each moment as it unfolds. But just as the falling petals mark the end of one chapter, they also herald the beginning of another. For within the depths of the ancient pear tree, a new cycle of growth is already underway. The tiny, green buds that follow the blossoms are the promise of fruit, a testament to the tree's enduring productivity and its ability to sustain life.As the days grow longer and the warmth of summer envelops the schoolyard, the once-barren branches will be laden with the weight of ripening fruit. These pears, born of the tree's ancient roots, will nourish and sustain generations to come, a living embodiment of the cycle of life that binds us all together. In the autumn, as the leaves turn golden and the air carries the crisp scent of decay, I will once again bear witness to the tree's transformation. The once-lush canopy will shed its foliage, preparing for the long slumber of winter. And yet, even in this moment of apparent death, I know that the ancient pear tree harbors the seeds of rebirth, patiently awaiting the return of spring. As I gaze upon this ancient guardian, I am filled with a profound sense of gratitude and wonder. For in its enduringpresence, I find solace and inspiration, a reminder that even in the depths of winter, the promise of renewal lies dormant, waiting to burst forth with the first warm caress of spring. The ancient pear tree is more than just a living relic; it is a testament to the resilience of nature, the cyclical dance of life and death, and the enduring beauty that lies within the most ordinary of things. As I prepare to leave the schoolyard and embark on the next chapter of my journey, I carry with me the lessons imparted by this ancient tree, a wellspring of wisdom and hope that will guide me through the seasons of life.。

怎么面对新规则作文英语
怎么面对新规则作文英语Well, facing new rules can be challenging at first. It's like suddenly being thrown into a new game with different rules that you're not familiar with. But hey, that's life, right? We have to adapt and learn to play by the new rules if we want to succeed. When new rules are introduced, it's important to take a step back and try to understand the reasoning behind them. Maybe there's a good reason for the change, even if it's not immediately obvious. Instead of resisting or complaining, it's better to approach the new rules with an open mind and see how they can benefit us in the long run. It's natural to feel frustrated or confused when faced with new rules, especially if they seem to make things more complicated or difficult. But instead of dwelling on the negative aspects, it's better to focus on finding ways to work within the new rules and make them work for us. After all, challenges can often lead to growth and improvement. One thing to keep in mind when dealing with new rules is that everyone else is in the same boat. We're all trying to figure out how to navigate the changes and adapt to the new way of doing things. So, instead of feeling like we're alone in this, it can be helpful to reach out to others for support and share experiences and strategies for coping with the new rules. In the end, facing new rules is just another part of life's ever-changing landscape. It may be tough at first, but with time and effort, we can learn to embrace the changes and make the most of the new opportunities that come our way. So, let's roll with the punches, adapt to the new rules, and keep moving forward.。

The Symphony of a Rainy AfternoonThere's something about a rainy afternoon that makes the world seem softer, as if the sharp edges of life are smoothed by the steady patter of raindrops. It begins gently, with a faint tapping on the windows that grows into a chorus, each drop a distinct note in a natural symphony. The trees sway with a slow rhythm, their leaves rustling like the pages of a well-read book. It's as if nature itself is telling a story, and all we need to do is listen.Inside, the rain creates a cocoon, a sense of warmth and comfort. The usual noise of daily life is muted, replaced by the soothing hum of falling water. It’s a perfect time for reflection, to sit by awindow with a cup of tea and watch the world transform. Streets once bustling with activity become quieter, each raindrop creating ripples on the pavement that spread out like rings on a pond. The world seems to slow down, inviting us to do the same.As the rain continues, the colors outside shift. Greens become deeper, as if the rain is infusing life into every blade of grass and every leaf. The gray clouds overhead create a soft filter, muting the harshness of the sun and allowing subtle hues to emerge. Flowers that might have been overlooked in the brightness of day now stand out, their petals gathering raindrops that glisten like jewels. There's a sense of renewal in the rain, a cleansing that washes away the dust and grime of the city. It’s a reminder that nature has its own rhythms, its own ways of restoring balance. And inthis moment of stillness, there's an opportunity to connect with that rhythm, to let go of the constant rush and simply be present. As the afternoon turns to evening, the rain begins to taper off, leaving behind a world refreshed. The clouds break apart, revealing hints of a setting sun that casts a warm glow over the landscape. The smell of rain lingers in the air, a sweet, earthy scent that signals the end of a gentle storm. And as the light fades, the first stars appear in the sky, tiny points of light that remind us of the vastness of the universe. The rain has passed, but its memory remains, a gentle reminder that even in the midst of life's storms, there is beauty to be found.Whispers of the Autumn BreezeAs summer's vibrant greens slowly fade into the golden hues of autumn, a gentle breeze carries the first whispers of change across the landscape. It is a transition that goes unnoticed by many, yet for those who listen carefully, the rustling leaves and cooling air speak volumes about the passage of time.Autumn has a way of inviting reflection. The days grow shorter, the sunlight softer, casting a warm glow that seems to deepen the earth's colors. Trees that once stood in full flush now reveal their delicate branches, their leaves turning shades of amber, copper, and russet. Each leaf, unique in its descent, swirls and dances with the wind before settling softly on the ground, forming a tapestry of nature's artistry.Walking through a forest in this season is like stepping into a painting. The air is crisp, carrying with it the scent of fallen leaves and distant woodsmoke. It's a time of quiet beauty, where the world slows down and invites you to do the same. The forest, once filled with the songs of birdsand the hum of insects, now exudes a different kind of music—the creak of bending branches, the soft crunch underfoot, and the distant call of migrating geese.Autumn's breeze seems to carry memories on its wings. It whispers of summers past, of days spent in the sun, and of winters yet to come, with their promise of frost and stillness. Yet, there is no sadness in its voice. Instead, it speaks of cycles and continuity, of the beauty in endings that give way to new beginnings. As the days grow cooler, people gather indoors, finding warmth in the company of family and friends. It's a season for reflection and gratitude, for savoring the fruits of the harvest and sharing stories around the hearth. Autumn is a reminder that change is a constant companion, and though it brings with it a touch of melancholy, it also brings the comfort of knowing that life moves in rhythms, and each season has its place and purpose. So, as you feel the autumn breeze on your face, take a moment to listen. Let its whispers remind you of the beauty in transition, of the poetry in the everyday, and of the quiet strength found in embracing the changing tides of life.Whispers of the Ancient ForestIn the heart of an ancient forest, where the trees reach into the sky like the pillars of an age-oldcathedral, a quiet serenity reigns. This is a place where time seems to slow, where the whispers of the wind through the leaves carry stories from centuries past. Here, the rhythm of life is governed not by the ticking of a clock, but by the gentle cycles of the sun and moon. The forest is a tapestry of green, with countless shades that shift and change as the light dances through the canopy. The sunlight, when it breaks through, forms golden pools on the forest floor, illuminating ferns and mosses that thrive in this secret world. It's as if the forest itself breathes, inhaling with the rise of the morning mist and exhaling with the rustling of leaves at dusk.As you walk through this enchanted place, you can't help but feel a deep sense of connection with the earth. The trees, some older than any living human, stand as silent sentinels, their roots intertwined with the soil and each other. They have witnessed countless seasons, their branches sheltering generations of creatures that call this forest home. Birds flit among the branches, their songs a gentle reminder that life thrives here, unseen but ever-present.The path ahead winds through the undergrowth, leading you deeper into the forest's embrace. You pass by ancient stones covered in lichen, remnants of a forgotten past. They stand as silent witnesses to the ebb and flow of history, their weathered surfaces etched with the marks of time. The forest has a way of absorbing everything, of reclaiming what was once lost and transforming it into something new.As you reach a clearing, a gentle breeze stirs the leaves, and you feel a sense of calm wash over you. This is a place where worries and anxieties seem to dissipate, where the chaos of the outside world feels distant and inconsequential. In the forest, there is only the present moment, and it is enough. You sit on a fallen log, letting the tranquility of the forest envelop you. The distant call of an owl signals the approaching twilight, and the forest begins to change. Shadows lengthen, and the coolness of evening settles in. It's a time of transition, a reminder that even in this ancient place, nothing is static. As you rise to leave, you carry with you the forest's whispers. They are the gentle echoes of nature's wisdom, a reminder that the world is vast and timeless, and that we are but fleeting visitors in a place that has endured for millennia. The forest will be here long after we are gone, its roots reaching deep into the earth, its branches stretching toward the heavens, a testament to the enduring beauty of the natural world.Whispers of the Distant ShoreIn the stillness of dawn, a faint line emerges on the horizon. It is a promise, a gentle whisper from the earth to the sky, that night has yielded once more to the light. The sea, stretching as far as the eye can see, shimmers in the early glow, its surface a dance of silver and gold. Each wave, each ripple, reflects a thousand stories, a myriad of dreams carried across the expanse. As I walk along the shore, the soft sand shifting beneath my feet, the cool breeze brushes against my skin. It carries with it the scent of salt and the distant echoes of gulls, their cries a chorus that fills the air. The sea is alive, ever-changing, its rhythm a constant reminder of nature's heartbeat. It speaks in gentle hums and sudden crashes, each wave a note in a symphony without end.Driftwood lines the beach, worn smooth by time and tide. Each piece is unique, shaped by its journey, a story carved into its surface. I pick up a shell, its edges polished to a fine sheen, and hold it to my ear. The roar of the ocean fills my senses, a distant memory of the waves' embrace. It's a reminder that even in the smallest things, the vastness of the world can be felt.As the sun rises higher, the beach begins to awaken. Families set up umbrellas, children chase seagulls, and surfers test the waves. Yet amidst the growing activity, there's a sense of peace, a connection to something greater. It's as if the shore holds a timeless quality, a place where the past meets the present, and the future is whispered in the breeze.I find a spot on the sand, close enough to feel the waves' gentle touch, and close my eyes. The world fades away, replaced by the soothing rhythm of the sea. Each wave is a reminder that life, like the ocean, is a series of ebbs and flows, a constant movement that shapes us, molds us, and carries us forward. When I open my eyes, the sun is high in the sky, and the beach is alive with activity. But I carry with me the quiet moments of the morning, the whispers of the distant shore. They are a reminder that even in the midst of life's chaos, there is beauty, there is peace, and there is always the gentle rhythm of the sea.Echoes of a Distant MelodyThe sun was setting, casting long shadows across the fields. The day had been warm and filled with the sweet scents of summer: fresh grass, blooming flowers, and the faint tang of ripening fruit. As I walked down a narrow path bordered by tall hedges, I was struck by the stillness of the evening. It was a quiet that seemed almost sacred, as if the world was holding its breath.I turned a corner, and there, nestled in a small clearing, stood an old piano. It was out of place in this rural setting, its polished wood dulled by years of exposure to the elements. The keys, once bright and white, were now yellowed and cracked. Yet even in its disrepair, it held a certaindignity, as if it had stories to tell.Curiosity got the better of me, and I approached the piano, wondering who had brought it here and why it had been abandoned. I pressed a key, half-expecting it to make no sound at all, but to my surprise, a soft note rang out, clear and true. It was like an echo from another time, a ghost of a melody that had long since faded.I sat down on the weathered bench and began to play. At first, my fingers stumbled over the keys, but gradually, they found their rhythm. The notes flowed together, creating a simple tune that seemed to blend with the natural world around me. Birds perched on the hedges, listening intently. A gentle breeze rustled through the leaves, accompanying the music with its own soft whisper. As I played, I felt a sense of connection to the past, to all the hands that had once touched these keys and all the hearts that had been moved by the music they created. I imagined a time when this piano had been the center of a lively gathering, with laughter and singing filling the air. Now, it was alone, but not forgotten, its voice still capable of reaching out and touching those who listened. The sun dipped below the horizon, and the sky turned a deep shade of orange. I played my final note, letting it linger in the twilight. The echoes slowly faded, leaving behind a profound silence. It was as if the world had returned to its original stillness, but with a subtle difference—a reminder that even in the quietest moments, there are stories waiting to be heard.I stood and took one last look at the piano before continuing down the path. The evening had grown cooler, and the night was settling in. But the melody I had played stayed with me, a gentle echo that seemed to guide my steps, reminding me that even the most forgotten things can hold a beauty that endures.。

In Grade 7 English, these rules become even more crucial as students embark on the journey of exploring more complex ideas and expressing them through writing. The beauty of these rules lies in their simplicity and versatility, allowing students to create diverse and engaging compositions that captivate their readers. One of the fundamental rules of composition in Grade 7 English is the importance of a clear and concise introduction. Just like a well-crafted story that beginswith an intriguing hook, a good composition starts with an engaging introduction that sets the tone for the entire piece. This introduction should briefly introduce the topic, provide background information, and preview the main points that will be discussed in the body of the composition. The body of the composition is where the real magic happens. Here, students are encouraged to expand on their ideas, providing evidence and examples to support their arguments. Each paragraph should have a clear topic sentence that introduces the main idea of the paragraph, followed by supporting sentences that elaborate on this idea. The use of transitional words and phrases is also crucial in Grade 7 English composition, as they help create a smooth flow between ideas and paragraphs.Another essential rule is the proper closure of the composition. Just like a story that ends with a satisfying conclusion, a good composition should also have a conclusion that sums up the main points, leaves a lasting impression on the reader, and possibly offers a new perspective or insight. The practice of applying these rules is crucial in honing one's writing skills. Regular practice helps students become more familiar with the rules, allowing them to apply them more naturally in their writing. 9 Rules for Turning Endings into New Beginningskira86 于2012-09-29 10:43:36发布l 已有748人浏览When you can no longer think of a reason to continue, you must think of a reason to start over. TherWhen you can no longer think of a reason to continue, you must think of a reason to start over. There’s a big difference between giving up and starting over in the right direction. And there are three little words that can release you from your past regrets and guide you forward to a positive new beginning. These words are: “From now on…”So, from now on…1. Let the things you can’t control, GO.– Most things are only a part of your life because you keep thinking about them. Positive things happen in your life when you emotionally distance yourself from the negative things. So stop holding on to what hurts, and make room for what feels right. Do not let what is out of your control interfere with all the things you can control. Read The Success Principles.2. Accept and embrace reality. – Life is simple. Everything happens for you, not to you. Everything happens at exactly the right moment, neither too soon nor too late. For everything you lose, you gain something else; and for everything you gain, you losesomething else. You don’t have to like it, but it’s just easier if you do. So pay attention to your outlook on life. You can either regret or rej oice; it’s your choice.3. Change your mind. – Change is like breath –it isn’t part of the process, it is the process. In reality the only thing we can count on is change. And the first step toward positive change is to change your outlook. Prepare for the positive. Prepare for the new. Allow the unknown to take you to fresh and unforeseen areas in yourself. Growth is impossible without change. If you cannot change your mind, you cannot change anything in your life. Sometimes all you need to do is look at things from a different perspective.4. Hold tight to the good things. –When life’s struggles knock you into a pit so deep you can’t see anything but darkness, don’t waste valuable energy trying to dig your way out. Because if you hastily dig in the dark, you’re likely to head in the wrong direction and only dig the pit deeper. Instead, use what energy you have to reach out and pull something good in with you. For goodness is bright; its radiance will show you which way is up, and illuminate the correct path that will take you there. Read Learned Optimism.5. Rest and regroup. –Strength isn’t about bearing a cross of grief or shame. Strength is about choosing your path, living with the consequences, and learning from them. Sometimes you do your best and en d up with a mess. When this happens, don’t be discouraged. You tried. That’s really all you can ever do. You have not failed; you just learned what not to do. So rest, regroup, and begin again with what you now know.6. Take chances. – Making a big life change or trying something new can be scary. But do you know what’s even scarier? Regret. So realize that most of your fears are much bigger in your mind than they are in reality; you’ll see this for yourself as soon as you face them. Don’t let them stop you. Live your life so that you never have to regret the chances you never took, the love you never let in, and the gifts you never gave out. Read The Magic of Thinking Big.7. Keep climbing. – Every person who is at the top of the mountain did not fall there from the sky. Good things come to those who work for them. You gain confidence and grow stronger by every experience in which you truly push yourself to do something you didn’t think you could do. If you are standing in that place of in-between, unable or unwilling to go backwards, but too afraid to move forward, remember that you can’t enjoy the view without being willing to climb.8. Appreciate what you have learned. – Nothing is more beautiful and powerful than a smile that has struggled through the tea rs. Don’t regret your time, even the moments that were filled with hurt. Smile because you learned from it and gained the strength to rise above it. In the end, it’s not what you have been through that defines who you are; it’s how you got through it that has made you the person you are today, and the person you are capable of being tomorrow.9. Realize every step is necessary.– Nothing is ever wrong. We learn from every step we take. Whatever you did today was a necessary step to get to tomorrow. So be proud of yourself. Maybe you are not as good as you want to be, or as great as you one day will be;but thanks to all the lessons you’ve learned along the way, you are so much better than you used to be.。
