In the 55th year of the reign of Emperor Qianlong of the Qing Dynasty (1790), the four big Huiban opera Troupes entered the capital. Gradually they combined with the Kunqu Opera, Yiyang Opera, Hanju Opera and Luantan, which were part of Beijing’s thearetical circle of the time. Through a period of more than half a century these various kinds of opera combined, integrated and evolved into the present Beijing opera. In the early days, Beijing Opera was most often performed on open-air stages in markets, streets, teahouses or outside temples. The music had to be played loudly and the performers had to sing with sharp voices, in order to be heard over the crowds. Slowly, this kind of singing became a special style of Beijing Opera.Student 1: Professor Shang, the costumes in Beijing Opera are often very bright. Why is this?Prof. Shang: That's a good question. As I mentioned just now, Beijing Opera was often performed on open-air stages and the stages were lit only by oil lamps. 现在分词作伴随状语还可表示时间,原因,结果,条件,让步等。

短语拓展:①here and there 到处,处处②up and down 来回地,上上下下15. unique adj. 独一无二的,独特的,唯一的易混辨析:①unique: 独一无二的,强调唯一Van Gogh was a unique painter. 梵高是一位独一无二的画家。

②special: 特定的,具体的,不一定唯一,但是不同What are you specific aims? 你的具体目的是什么?③particular: 不寻常的,挑剔的,强调不是一般的She’s particular about what she wears. 她对于穿着很讲究。

16. through prep. 穿过,贯穿,透过,经由易混辨析:①through: 介词,“贯穿,透过,穿过”,从一头(边)到另一头(边),强调从空间或里面穿过。

They got through the forest at last. 最终他们穿过了森林。

②across: 介词,“横穿,穿过,横渡”,指从表面上穿过。

Last week he swam across the river alone. 上周他独自一人游过了这条河。

③cross: 动词,“横穿,横渡”。

When crossing the street, be careful. 过街时要注意安全。
