PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress deterioration in fuel economy or drivability when a second motor generator is disconnected.
SOLUTION: In this controller of a hybrid vehicle, an engine, a first motor generator,and the second motor generator transmit power to rear wheels, and a third motor
generator transmits power to front wheels. A power transmission control means changes
over between a power transmission mode to transmit power between the second motor generator and a driving axle, and a power transmission release mode to release the power transmission. Specifically, in the power transmission release mode, based on the whole energy efficiency when the third motor generator is in operation, the mode is changed from the power transmission release mode to the power transmission mode. Thereby, the deterioration in the fuel economy or the drivability when the second motor generator is disconnected can be properly suppressed.
