我父亲原来指望我学法律,但是我却一心想去航海。
有一天,我去赫尔城,我的一位同伴正要坐他父亲的船到伦敦去,再没有什么比这更让我动心了,我必须跟他而去——这是1651年的8月,当时我十九岁。
船刚驶出海口,便碰到了可怕的风浪,使我感到全身说不出的难过,心里十分恐怖。

内容主要是根据名著《鲁滨逊漂流记》改编而成,以鲁滨逊的口吻分两段讲述了他初到小岛上和遇到“星期五”的情节。
两段内容时间相隔较长,但是因为文章中a few weeks ago和not long ago学生容易混淆。
在获取信息上可课前通过小组合作预习,查找小说的背景知识(作家、主要人物、故事梗概等)来初步感知文本材料,在上课时通过泛读和精读的方式结合了解文本讲述的故事,欣赏文本,感受文章的各种时态。
最后通过book report的家庭作业来具体呈现小说得内容,让学生感受阅读的乐趣。
