Teaching Procedures:
Step 1 Lead-in
Greet the class, lead Ss to review the present perfect structure and make some sentences using it.
Step 2 Presentation
1.Teach Activity 1a.
Give Ss several minutes to do this free talk.Call attention to the tense. Then, invite some volunteers to describe their favorite singers or musicians.
2.Teach Activities 1b,1c.
Call students’ attention to the picture and ask Ss what they can see in it and what the people are doing.
Then play the tape twice.
The first time,students listen and distinguish Alex’s and Dave’s opinions about the band.
The second time,students take some notes to complete the chart. Finally,check the answers together.
Step 3 Practice
Teach Activity 1d.
First,lead Ss to read the instruction to know what to do and how to do it.
Invite a student to do this work as an example.
T:What kind of music do you listen？
S1:I listen to pop music.
T:Why do you listen to it?
S1:Because it is nice and easy to learn.
T:How does it make you feel?
S1:It makes me relaxed.
T: Well done. Now,work in groups of three to interview two group members about their favorite music.
Give Ss several minutes to do this task.
Step 4 Summary
In this class,we mainly learned how to talk about one’s favorite singers or musicians.Through some listening and speaking practice, students mastered the target language.And their listening and spoken skills are also improved.
