North Korea’s official name is the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea (DPRK) •North Korea is NOT a democracy. •A democracy is where power is vested in the people, who express it through a free electoral system. Elections are held to decide who will be the leaders. •The definition of democratic is favoring social equality; egalitarian (or without social classes). Communism states that all of the workers own everything but in reality that does not happen.
