Rise of the word "American Dream"
The term "American Dream"was coined in 1931,155 years after the founding of the nation.This was after the emergence of civil society,after the judicial system had proven itself to be independent,and after the economy started to lift large numbers out of poverty. The auther,James Truslow Adams wrote,"It is not a dream of social order in which each man and each woman shall be able to attain to the fullest stature of which they are innately capable,and be recognized by others for what they are,regardless of the fortuitous circumtance of birth or position."

• The California Gold Rush (1848– 1855) began on January 24, 1848, when gold was discovered by James Marshall at Sutter's Mill in Coloma, California. News of the discovery soon spread, resulting in some 300,000 men, women, and children coming to California from the rest of the United States and abroad.

For minorities and immigrants, it also includes freedom and equal rights.That is,people have to work through their own hard work,courage,determination to move towards prosperity,rather than rely on others.
