Immediately, an absolute darkness ruled the forest.Jane, exhausted and scared, lay down near a stone, missing her family at a distance.

Immediately, an absolute darkness ruled the forest. Jane, exhausted and scared, lay down near a stone, missing her family at a distance. All the fantastic memory crowded in and she couldn't help crying, "Hadn't I quarrelled with Tom, walked away and climbed to the high place, I wouldn't be trapped in this awful place, confronted with the danger of dying.” She regretted with endless anxiety, and then became asleep with shining tears in her eyes.【翻译】立刻,一片绝对的黑暗统治着森林。

Part1:经典例文(小狗救人)Just as many families do at a point, Catherine chose to add a new family memberby adopting a pet. Shortly after her daughter Kate’s birth, Catherine decided she wanted a close bond with a dog for Kate. Thus, Catherine called the dog shelter close by to inquire about adoption. After hearing about the available animals, she chose a Doberman Pinscher. Once they signed adoption papers, they named the dog Khan.Catherine was hopeful this would provide valuable lessons for her baby, such as sharing, learning to love and responsibility to care foranimals. She was looking forward to having the dogjoin the family.Hearing of Khan’s rough background, Catherineimmediately loved the dog. She was overjoyed to bringthis special dog back to her family. Of course, sherealized there were risks involved. Well, the obviousrisks from bringing a large, potentially dangerous animal to her young baby, Catherine pushed them aside. If she had not adopted Khan, he would have been killed just a week later. So, this was his new life and second chance, and the family was hoping for the best.Everything began smoothly. They trained Khan during the first few days. However, everything changed on that fourth day when the dog acted completely out of character. The fateful day began with the usual playtime in the yard. Although baby Kate had her parents watching from a distance, they did not notice anything out of the ordinary. Kate and the new dog had been making a habit of playing out back like this. However, things were different this day.So what was actually happening out there? The two were not being loud or crazy. They began running through the backyard grass together. Again, Catherine watched the two closely. Surprisingly, things had changed within an instant!

Albert was mad about computer games. He could spend hours and hours in front of the screen, and even though his parents found it hard to believe,he really enjoyed every minute of it.He hardly left his seat. When people encouraged him to get involved with normal life,he would respond:"This is my doorway to the world, there is much more here than you realize."Among all his games there was one he especially liked. In it he would move a character around, collecting turtles(乌龟)on an infinity(无限)of levels and screens. He was a real expert at it.Maybe there was no one else in the world who had collected as many turtles as he had, but, nevertheless, Albert still wanted more and more and more...One day, when he got home from school, everything had changed. As usual,as soon as he arrived,he ran to his room to switch the computer on.But this time he heard some strange noises, like breaking glass.Suddenly the screen broke, and from inside came dozens, then hundreds, then thousands of little turtles. And they filled every square inch of his bedroom.Albert was astonished.

As he walked along Park Avenue near the First National Bank, he heard the sound of someone trying to start a car. He tried again and again but couldn’t get the car moving. Arthur turned and looked inside at the face of a young man who looked worried. Arthur stopped and asked, “It looks like you’ve got a problem,” Arthur said.“I’m afraid so. I’m in a big hurry and I can’t start my car.”“Is there something I can do to help?” Arthur asked. The young man looked at the two suitcases in the back seat and then said, “Thanks. If you’re sure it wouldn’t be too much trouble, you could help me get these suitcases into a taxi.”“No trouble at all. I’d be glad to help.”The young man got out and took one of the suitcases from the back seat. After placing it on the ground, he turned to get the other one. Just as Arthur picked up the first suitcase and started walking, he heard the long loud noise of an alarm. It was from the bank. There had been a robbery (抢劫)!Park Avenue had been quiet a moment before. Now the air was filled with the sound of the alarm and the shouts of people running from all directions. Cars stopped and the passengers joined the crowd in front of the bank. People asked each other,“What happened?” But everyone had a different answer.Arthur, still carrying the suitcase, turned to look at the bank and walked right into the young woman in front of him.She looked at the suitcase and then at him. Arthur was surprised. “Why is she looking at me like that?” He thought. “The suitcase! She thinks I’m the bank thief!”Arthur looked around at the crowd of people. He became frightened, and without another thought, he started to run.
