First ofall Iwill introduce the basicsituation ofthe whitehouse. If thereis any question, please feel freeto ask!

Excuseme,George Washington wasthe first president of living in the White House?

Instead, itisapity that when the WhiteHousewas built, thefirst Americanpresident George Washington hadalready left his preside nt position ,so the firstonefor living in the white housewasthe secondPresidentJohn Adams.

Excuse me, could you tellmewhythepresident Rooseveltrename
thepresidentialpalaceafter the White House and why not the

This is a good question! Shortlyafter the White Housewas built completely,in 1812 the second UnitedStates and the British war broke ou
t, soon theBritish army invaded in washington. In August 24,1814 they destroyedthe building in fire leaving only ashell. In 1817for repairing it,in order to disguisetrace of fire, President Monroe ordered topaintalayer of whitepaint in the grey sand .Sincethenthe presidential palace hasbeencalled"theWhiteHouse".

Excuse me, couldyoutell mewhen the WhiteHouseofficially opened tothepublic?

According to the principle “the expenditure of building the White Housewill beburdenedbythe taxpayers , sothe White House wasopen to the public whenit was builtcompletely in1800.
