I remember the day I decided to take the postgraduate entrance exam. It was a spur-of-the-moment decision, and I didn't have much time to prepare. But I was determined to give it a try, and I didn't want to have any regrets. So I buckled down and started studying like crazy, sacrificing my social life and sleep to cram as much information into my brain as possible. The exam day came, and I was a nervous wreck. I felt like I had forgotten everything I had studied, and I was sure I was going to fail. But I took a deep breath, walked into the exam room, and gave it my best shot. Surprisingly, the questions weren't as difficult as I had expected, and I managed to answer most of them with confidence. When I walked out of the exam room, I felt a sense of relief and accomplishment, regardless of the outcome.Waiting for the exam results was torture. I couldn't focus on anything else, and I kept checking my phone everyfive minutes in case the results had been posted. When the day finally came, I was too scared to look. But when I finally mustered up the courage to check, I was over the moon to find out that I had passed. It was one of the happiest moments of my life, and all the hard work and sacrifice had paid off.Looking back, I'm glad I took the leap and decided to take the exam. It was a challenging experience, but it taught me the value of determination and hard work. I also learned that sometimes, you have to take risks and step out of your comfort zone to achieve your goals. I may not have had a perfect plan, but I'm proud of myself for taking a chance and making it work.。

The world is changing at a rapid pace, and with it, the way we communicate. In the past, face-to-face communication was the norm, but today, we are increasingly relying on technology to stay connected. While technology has made it easier to communicate with people from all over the world, it has also led to a decline in the quality of our communication. One of the biggest problems with technology-mediated communication is that it can be difficult to convey tone and emotion. When you are talking to someone in person, you can use your facial expressions, body language, and tone of voice to convey your message. However, when you are communicating via text or email, it can be difficult to convey these cues. This can lead to misunderstandings and conflict.Another problem with technology-mediated communication is that it can be difficult to build relationships. When you are communicating with someone in person, you can build rapport through shared experiences and face-to-face interactions. However, when you are communicating via technology, it can be difficult to develop the same level of rapport. This can make it difficult to build strong relationships with people from other cultures or backgrounds.Despite these challenges, technology-mediated communication can also have some positive effects. For example, technology can make it easier to stay connected with friends and family who live far away. It can also make it easier to learn about different cultures and perspectives. Additionally, technology can be used to facilitate communication between people who have different disabilities.Overall, technology-mediated communication has both positive and negative effects. It is important to be awareof the challenges of technology-mediated communication and to use it wisely. By using technology in a mindful way, we can reap the benefits of this powerful tool while minimizing its potential risks.

从初高中接触英语以来,咱们学到的简单介词大约有70个,大家比较熟悉的有in. for. at. of. with. to. on. with等等。

Of all the changes that have taken place in English-language newspapers during the past quarter-century, perhaps the most far-reaching has been the inexorable decline in the scope and the seriousness of their arts coverage.

Recently, the news that the ticket price of movies will be raised has caused a heated discussion. Some people believe that the increase is reasonable, while others hold the opposite view. Those who support the rise in ticket price argue that the cost of making movies has increased significantly. With the development of technology, the cost of special effects and high-quality production has also risen. Therefore, it is necessary to raise the ticket price in order to cover the production cost and ensure the quality of movies. Moreover, the increase in ticket price will also contribute to the development of the movie industry, as it will provide more financial support for filmmakers to create better works. On the other hand, those who oppose the rise in ticket price argue that it will make it more difficult for ordinary people to afford going to the movies. In today'ssociety, where the living cost is already high, raising the ticket price will only add to the financial burden of the general public. Furthermore, the increase in ticket price may lead to a decrease in the number of moviegoers, which will ultimately have a negative impact on the movie industry. In my opinion, the rise in ticket price is a double-edged sword. On one hand, it is understandable that the cost of making movies has increased, and filmmakers need financial support to create high-quality works. On the other hand, it is important to take into consideration the affordability of the general public. Therefore, I believe that a moderate increase in ticket price is acceptable, as long as it does not put too much pressure on the audience. In addition, the government should also provide more support and subsidies for the movie industry, in order to maintain a balance between the production cost and the affordability of the audience. In conclusion, the rise in ticket price of movies has its pros and cons. It is important for the movie industryto find a balance between covering the production cost and ensuring the accessibility of movies for the general public. Only by doing so can the movie industry continue to thrive and provide high-quality works for the audience.。

The question aimed to assess candidates' ability to express their opinions clearly and logically in written English. To effectively tackle this question, candidates needed to carefully consider the advantages and disadvantages of the given topics before choosing which one to write about. For instance, the influence of the internet on communication could be seen as both positive and negative. On one hand, the internet has revolutionized the way we communicate by enabling instant messaging, video calls, and social media platforms. On the other hand, it has also led to issues such as cyberbullying, misinformation, and addiction.Similarly, discussing the role of books in the digital age required candidates to explore the benefits and challenges of traditional reading materials in comparison to digital alternatives. While books have long been regarded as a valuable source of knowledge and entertainment, the rise of e-books and audiobooks has raised questions about the future of printed publications. In their essays, candidates were expected to provide a comprehensive analysis of their chosen topic, supported by relevant examples and evidence. They were also required to present their arguments in a clear and well-structured manner, with a strong introduction, body, and conclusion.Overall, the 2017 National Postgraduate Entrance Exam English II Small Composition question provided candidates with an opportunity to showcase their writing skills and critical thinking abilities. By carefully exploring the given topics and presenting their arguments persuasively, candidates could demonstrate their proficiency in written English and increase their chances of succeeding in the exam. Directions: Write an essay based on the following chart. In your writing, you should1) interpret the chart, and2) give your comments. You should write at least 150 words.2017年考研英语二小作文题目如下The chart above illustrates the proportion of Chinese population across different age groups in 1990 and 2010. As can be seen from the chart, the age group of 0-14 accounted for the largest portion of the population in 1990, followed by the age group of 15-64. However, by 2010, the population distribution had significantly shifted, with the age group of 15-64 becoming the largest and the proportion of the elderly population (age 65 and above) also increasing. This demographic shift reflects the impact of China's aging population, which has been a growing concern in recent years. With improvements in healthcare and living conditions, people are living longer, leading to an increase in the number of elderly individuals. This has important implications for social security systems, healthcare services, and the labor market. In my opinion, the government needs to implement policies to address the challenges posed by an aging population. This could involve increasing retirement age, promoting healthcare services for the elderly, and encouraging families to care for their aging relatives. By taking proactive measures, China can better prepare for the demographic changes ahead. In conclusion, the demographic shift depicted in the chart highlights the need for proactive measures to address the challenges of an aging population. By implementing appropriate policies, China can ensure the well-being of its aging population and maintain social stability. Directions:Write an essay of 160-200 words based on the following drawing. In your essay, you should1) describe the drawing briefly,2) explain its intended meaning, and then3) give your comments.2017年考研英语二小作文题目:One possible version:As is vividly depicted in the drawing above, a man is standing in front of a wall, on which there are two shadows - one of a tiger, and the other of a fierce one eyed monster. The man, looking startled, is holding a flashlight and shining it at the wall in order to create the two shadows. The intended meaning of the drawing is clear. It illustrates the idea that the shadows in our life, representing our fears, may not be as fearful as we think they are. Just like the man is in control of the shadows on the wall, we are in control of our fears and can diminish them if we have the courage to face them.In my opinion, the message that the drawing conveys is powerful and thought provoking. It serves as a reminder that we should not let our fears dictate our actions and decisions; instead, we should confront them head on and see them for what they truly are - mere shadows that can be dispelled with the light of our courage and determination. Only by overcoming our fears can we truly live fulfilling and meaningful lives. In conclusion, the drawing challenges us to confront our fears and take control of our lives, rather than being controlled by our insecurities. It is a poignant reminder that we are strongerthan we think, and that we have the power to dispel the shadows that hold us back.。

Nowadays, more and more people like to buy things by internet. They spend much time and money on this thing, and they like to communicate with their friends about online shopping.

In this day and age, an increasing number of youngsters are fond of shopping online. During their spare time, theyincline to spend much of time and incomes on purchasing a variety of daily necessities such as foods or clothes; meanwhile, they would communicate with their friends and share their experience on this matter.点评:修改后的版本用了in this day and age替代修改前的nowadays,an increasing number of替换more and more,用are fond of替代like,用purchase替代buy,这些用来替代的词便是考生熟知但是较少使用的小词,这些词汇的难度不高、易于掌握,并且比最常用的初级词汇要更有表达效果。

In the picture above is a large hot pot. But different from the traditional Chinese hot pot, in which you see beef or lamb, luncheon meat, mushrooms, and a variety of vegetables, in this hot pot are various "cultural foodstuffs" of both Chinese and foreign origins: Confucius, Aristotle, and Shakespeare; Taoism, Greek mythology, etc. ① What lies behind the picture, or "buried" in the hot pot, is clear: ② for the construction of the Chinese culture and the future, materials of both Chineseand foreign features are indispensable.

What lies behind the picture, or 'buried' in the hot pot, is clear"这句话意在引出文化火锅所反映的内涵,这位考生没有用indicate或者illustrate这样的难词,而是应用了简单好记的lie in和bury两组有比喻色彩的动词(词组),用词十分生动。

而对于本段中的划线句②,考生可以根据应用小词对该句子进行改写,使其更加简单好记,比如改成:"for the building-up of Chinese culture, elements from both Chinese and foreign countries are essential."第二段We are living in an age when ① economic globalization is not only heard over the media but also seen and felt in thereality of our daily life. No nation or country can maintain its well-being by living on and by itself. The history of China in the last half of the 20th century has provided a whole pack of vivid and convincing experiences, both of successes and failures, in that consideration. ② Only from the various and varied sources of the other nations, together with that of our own, can we obtain sufficient nutriments for the Chinese culture worth her pride and her leadership in the present and the future world.
