1. Overview
Definition of L/C
• Letter of credit (L/C) is one of the safest payment methods commonly adopted in international trade. • It is a payment undertaking given by a bank to a beneficiary and is issued on behalf of the applicant.

According to the sales contract, the confirmed and irrevocable letter of credit in our favor should be opened 30 days before the shipping date. I understand that now it’s your busiest moment for arranging new season’s orders. 3) Check A check is an unconditional order in writing addressed by the customer (drawee) to a bank(draw) signed by the customer authorizing the bank to pay on demanding a specified sum of money to or to the order of a named person or to bearer (payee). A check is a special kind of draft in that the drawee is always a bank with which the drawer has an account. Besides, a check is always paid upon presentation. If the drawer wants to write a check now but does not want the payee to collect the money immediately, the drawer can postdate the check.

二、 包装标志(Packing Marks),指运输包装上的标志, 便于货物运输、识别与交接等,通常会在外部设备刷印特殊 极好、图形、文字或数字等进行提示。包装标志又可分为运 输标志(Shipping Mark)、指示标志(Indicative Mark) 和警告标志(Warning Mark)等。其中,警告标志有时也被 认为是危险品标志(Dangerous Cargo Mark),使之在装有 爆炸品、易燃品、腐蚀品、氧化剂和放射品等危险货物在运 输包装上用图形或文字进行标示,用以警示和包活人身或商 品安全。

包(Bale),指用纸、布、麻布或塑料布等将货物进行包装,

L/C is a banker’s guarantee that payment will be made on presentation of all the required shipping documents. L/C is a legal instrument to which the conduct of the beneficiary, the applicant and the bank will be subjected. Just like a purchase or sales contract, it has direct and decisive effect on the exporter’s documentation.
