1.本课时2a-2c是一节阅读课,文章以重大的突发事件为背景,通过人们的回忆讲述过
去正在发生的事情,基于前面的听说课与语法课,复习巩固运用过去进行时来描述事情。

2.本课时的重难点在于能够运用寻读,略读,抓关键词、题目、段落首句等阅读策略来
提高阅读技巧。

3.由于本课时内容主要是于马丁.路德.金被刺杀事件以及美国9.11恐怖袭击事件。

网上相关资源丰富,学生可通过百度、谷歌等网站自行查阅。

【学习过程】
一.课前准备
1.预习熟读词汇和课文,勾出文章中不理解的词或短语。

2.查阅有关民权运动领袖马丁.路德.金和他著名的演讲“I have a dream”
及9.11事件的相关资料。

3.查阅重庆公交事件,木里森林火灾,江苏盐城爆炸等事件发生的时间,
回忆自己当时正在做的事情。

二.课中学习
Task 1 Lead-in and warming up
1.Look at the pictures of some events and talk about the things you
were doing when these events happened?
2.Know more about the Forest Fire in Muli, and learn some new
expressions: be shocked completely, be in silence and so on.
Task 2 Pre-reading
1.Watch two video clips to have a basic impression of the two
unforgettable events happened in America.
2.Look at the pictures and answer the questions.
(1)Look at picture1, Who’s the man? What was he doing?
(2) L ook at picture2, What’s the building? What happened to it?
(3)Work on 2a: Look at the pictures and title in the passage. What do you
think the passage is about?
Task 3 While-reading
1. Fast reading: Work on 2b, read the passage and answer the questions:
(1) What are the two events in the passage?
(2) When did they happen?
阅读策略:看到“when”, 关注篇章中的时间点,再根据时间点找到所发生的事情“what”。

2. Careful reading
(1) Read and find the main idea of each paragraph in the article and
underline them.
阅读策略:阅读标题与段落首句有利于文本理解。

(3) Read the whole passage aloud.
(4) Work on 2c, judge(判断)the following statements true(T) or false(F) or
not given(NG).
策略:文章是以两个重大事件为背景的而展开的文章,先观察5个句子描述的是哪个事件,确定相关段落。

Task4Post-reading
