Oliver Twist(经典英语电影观后感)

Oliver Twist is a classic novel that has been widely read and loved by people of all ages. The novel tells the story of a young orphan boy named Oliver who is born in a workhouse in the misty city of London. Oliver's life is full of cruelty, hardship, and danger as he faces the evil and corrupt people of the city. However, Oliver is also a symbol of hope, purity, and goodness, who manages to survive his troubled life and find happiness and love in the end.The novel is a classic example of Charles Dickens' writing style, which is known for its elaborate descriptions, vivid characters, and social commentary. Through the character of Oliver, Dickens highlights the social issues of poverty, crime, and injustice that were prevalent in Victorian England. He portrays the corruption and greed of the ruling class, the exploitation of the poor, and the harsh living conditions of the working-class people. The novel also shows the brutal treatment of children in the workhouses and the criminal underworld of London. One of the things that make this novel so compelling is the depth and complexity of its characters. Dickens creates a cast of memorable characters, ranging from the sinister and malevolent to the kind and compassionate. The most memorable character, of course, is Oliver himself. Despite his tragic circumstances, Oliver remains an innocent and pure-hearted young boy who never loses his sense of humanity and compassion. His courage, integrity, and perseverance in the face of adversity inspire, and his redemption and salvation are a testament to the power of human kindness and love. The novel is also a masterful example of storytelling, with its intricate plot, suspenseful twists and turns, and dramatic climax. The story is full of adventure, mystery, and danger as Oliver goes on a quest to uncover his true identity, escape from his tormentors, and find a place where he belongs. The novel is a reflection of its time and has a timeless quality that makes it relevant and relatable even today. In conclusion, Oliver Twist is a classic novel that touches our hearts and minds with its powerful story, memorable characters, and social commentary. It is a testament to the enduring power of literature and the human spirit, and a reminder that even in the darkest of times, we can find hope and redemption. I highly recommend this book to anyone who loves great literature and to those who want to understand the social issues of the past and present. One of the most significant aspects of Oliver Twist is its portrayal of the criminal underground in Victorian London. Dickens portrays this world in vivid detail, showing the squalor and desperation of those who lived outside of society's norms. He also shows the brutal and cold-hearted nature of the criminals who thrived in this world, such as Fagin, the manipulative leader of a gang of young thieves.Through his portrayal of the criminal underworld, Dickens highlights the social issues of poverty and inequality that were rampant in Victorian society. He shows how people were forced into a life of crime due to their circumstances and how the system itself perpetuated their struggles. The novel also raises important questions about the role of society in creating and perpetuating poverty, and about the responsibility of those in power to addressthese issues.Another aspect of Oliver Twist that is still relevant today is the issue of child exploitation and abuse. The novel raises important questions about the treatment of children in society, particularly those who are orphaned or from poor families. Dickens portrays the harsh living conditions and brutal treatment of children in the workhouses, which were meant to be places of refuge but instead became places of punishment and exploitation.Throughout the novel, Oliver is constantly pursued and mistreated by those who seek to take advantage of him, whether it be the criminal underworld or the misguided adults who are supposed to protect him. This highlights the vulnerability of children in society and the need for better protection and support systems.Overall, Oliver Twist remains a powerful and thought-provoking novel that continues to resonate with readers today. Dickens' vivid descriptions, complex characters, and insightful social commentary make it a timeless classic that will continue to inspire and educate for generations to come.。

1To Regain the Nature of Goodness —Review of ‘Oliver Twist’ Oliver Twist one of the most famous works of Charles Dickens’ is a novel reflecting the tragic fact of the life in Britain in 18th century. The author who himself was born in a poor family wrote this novel in his twenties with a view to reveal the ugly masks of those cruel criminals and to expose the horror and violence hidden underneath the narrow and dirty streets in London. The hero of this novel was Oliver Twist an orphan who was thrown into a world full of poverty and crime. He suffered enormous pain such as hunger thirst beating and abuse. While reading the tragic experiences of the little Oliver I was shocked by his sufferings. I felt for the poor boy but at the same time I detested the evil Fagin and the brutal Bill. To my relief as was written in all the best stories the goodness eventually conquered devil and Oliver lived a happy life in the end.One of the plots that attracted me most is that after the theft little Oliver was allowed to recover in the kind care of Mrs. Maylie and Rose and began a new life. He went for walks with them or Rose read to him and he worked hard at his lessons. He felt as if he had left behind forever the world of crime and hardship and poverty. How can such a little boy who had already suffered oppressive affliction remain pure in body and mind? The reasonis the nature of goodness.I think it is the most important information implied in the novel by Dickens-he believed that goodness could conquer every difficulty. Although I don’t think goodness is omnipotent yet I do believe that those who are kind-hearted live more happily than those who are evil-minded. For me the nature of goodness is one of the most necessary character for a person. Goodness is to humans what water is to fish.He who is without goodness is an utterly worthless person. On the contrary as the famous saying goes ‘The fragrance always stays in the hand that gives the rose’ he who is with goodness undoubtedly is a happy and useful person. People receiving his help are grateful to him and he also gets gratified from what he has done and thus he can do good to both the people he has helped and himself.《雾都孤儿》英文读后感篇2Here I am sitting on a couch alone, thinking about what I have just finished reading with tears of sadness filling my eyes and fire of indignation filling my heart, which revived my exhausted soul that has already been covered by the cruelty and the selfishness of the secular world for a long time. It is truly what I felt after reading Oliver Twist, written by the prominent British author Charles Dickens. The resonance between me and the book makes me feel not only the kindness and the wickedness of all the characters in the novel, but what this aloof society lacks, and what I lack deep inside. These supreme resources I’m talking about ri ght now are somewhat different from minerals, oil that we usually mention. They’re abstract like feelings, and some kinds of spiritual stimulation that all of us desire anxiously from one another ——love and care. Those charitable figures whom Dickens created in the novel are really what we need in life. They showed love and care to others, just as the gentle rain from the sky fell upon the earth, which was carved into my heart deeply.Mr. Brownlow is one such person.《雾都孤儿》英文读后感篇3How can such a little boy who had already suffered oppressive affliction remain pure in body and mind? The reason is the nature of goodness. I think it is the most important information implied in the novel by Dickens-he believed that goodness could conquer every difficulty. People receiving his help are grateful to him and he also gets gratified from what he has done, and thus he can do good to both the people he has helped and himself. To my disappointment, nowadays some people seem to doubt the existence of the goodness in humanity. They look down on people’s honesty and kindness, thinking it foolish of people to be warm-hearted. As a result, they show no sympathy to those who are in trouble and seldom offer to help others. On the other hand, they attach importance to money and benefit. In their opinion, money is the only real object while emotions andmorality are nihility. If they cannot get profit from showing their ‘kindness’,they draw back when others are faced with trouble and even hit a man when he is down. They are one of the sorts that I really detest.Francis Bacon said in his essay, ‘Goodness, of all virtues and dignities of the mind, is the greatest, being the character of the Deity, and without it, man is a busy, mischievous, wretched thing, no better than a kind of vermin.’《雾都孤儿》英文读后感篇4Oliver Twist is a novel written by Chales Dikens .It mainly describes a little boy's tough experiences .This novel reveals the author's attitude towards life in some point.Oliver Twist was an orphan who was brought up by Shelia who lived in hospice. Oliver was regarded as a bastard, which resulted lots of discrimination. In the foster home , he was on behalf of children to ask for more porridge ,which considered as a kind rude and unpolite behavior .He was confined for several days and came across another suffering.Mr Bumble sent him to a coffin maker. In this plot ,I was attracted by the man Mr Noah who was also a servant .He played tricks on Oliver to grab some external fun .He deliberately said Oliver's mother was a bitch who had a child without marriage. This kind of writing is advanced .It satirized the dark society .people's ignorance trapped kind people all the time .In contrast,Oliver , a naive boy who existed in a horrible environment ,always kept good honest.Although he knew nothing about his mother ,he persisted in beliving his mother's kindness.A little boy owned those good quality in dark society is doubted. But it reflects the author's opinion .Love makes theworld go around. This topic was proved though the novel. In an anthor plot ,Oliver entered a haunt of thieves by accident.A girl names Nacy rejected Mr Brownlow's help .She had no courage to leave the haunt where people had the same fate ,especially his beloved boy Sikes. In the end ,she was beaten to death .And this plot is the trasition .It hinted that bad people are destined to compensate. For Oliver's kindness ,he finally led a happy life with many kindhearted people's help. This consequence accords with people's common criterion.Temporarily difficulities is not terrible as long as you reasonably deal with it.And success is on the way. What's more,we should always put love in the bottom of hearts.《雾都孤儿》英文读后感篇5One of Dickens most enduringly popular stories is Oliver Twist, an early work published 1837-8. Like many of his later novels, its central theme is the hardship faced by the dispossessed and those of the outside of tolite society. Oliver himself is born in a workhouse and treated cruelly there as was the norm at the time for pauper children, in particular by Bumble, a parish council official or eadle The story follows Oliver as he escapes the workhouse and runs away to London. Here he receives an education in villainy from the criminal gang of Fagin that includes the brutal thief Bill Sikes, the famous artful Dodger and Nancy, Bill whore. Oliver is rescued by the intervention of a benefactor - Mr Brownlow - but the mysterious Monks gets the gang to kidnap the boy again. Nancy intervenes but is murdered viciously by Sikes after she has showed some redeeming qualities and has discovered Monk sinister intention. The story closes happily and with justice for Bumble and the cruel Monks who has hidden the truth of Oliver parentage out ofmalice. Accusations were made that the book glamorised crime (like the ewgate Group of the period) but Dickens wisely disassociated himself from criminal romances. His achievement was in fact in presenting the underworld and problems of poverty to the well-off in a way rarely attempted previously.。
《OliverTwist(雾都孤儿)》读后感1000字

Furthermore, the performances of the actors in "Oliver Twist" are truly outstanding. The young actor who plays Oliver captures the innocence and vulnerability of the character, making the audience empathize with his struggles. Ben Kingsley's portrayal of Fagin is equally compelling, as he brings a sense of complexity and depth to the character. The performances, combined with the authentic period costumes and set design, effectively transport the audience to the gritty and unforgiving streets of 19th century London.

Introduction:"Oliver Twist" is a classic literary work written by Charles Dickens, which highlights the social injustices and inequalities prevalent in Victorian England. As I immersed myself in the intricate plot and vivid characters, I became deeply engrossed in the dilemmas faced by the protagonist, Oliver Twist. This essay aims to present my thoughts and reflections on the novel, exploring its themes, character development, and the impact it had on me as a reader.Plot Summary:"Oliver Twist" narrates the life of a young orphan boy named Oliver, who grows up in the harsh workhouse system of 19th-century London. After facing ill-treatment and escaping to London, Oliver becomes entangled with a gang of juvenile pickpockets, led by the infamous Fagin. Through a series of adventures, misfortunes, and newfound relationships, Oliver eventually discovers his true identity and finds solace in the loving embrace of those who cared for him.Themes and Social Commentary:Dickens masterfully weaves several major themes throughout the novel, shedding light on the societal issues and inequalities that existed during his time. One prominent theme is the juxtaposition of wealth and poverty. Through the character of Oliver, Dickens illustrates how the poor were often marginalized and exploited, while the wealthy lived lives of luxury and privilege. This contrast serves as a critique of the socio-economic divisions prevalent in Victorian society.Another significant theme is the pursuit of morality and virtue in a corrupt world. Oliver possesses an unwavering moral compass throughout the novel, even amidst the immoral and sinister characters he encounters. His innate goodness stands as a beacon of hope amidst the darkness, urging readers to embrace compassion and integrity in the face of adversity.Character Development:The characters in "Oliver Twist" are richly drawn, each representing different facets of society. Oliver, with his innocence and vulnerability, captures the reader's sympathy from the start. His transformation from a meek and subservient orphan boy to a courageous and determined individual reflects his resilience and the triumph of the human spirit.Fagin, the cunning and manipulative leader of the juvenile gang, symbolizes the corrupting influence of a deprived environment. Though initially portrayed as a villain, Dickens provides glimpses of Fagin's past and the socio-economic factors that may have led him down his dark path. This layer of complexity challenges readers' preconceived notions of character and morality. The supporting cast of characters, such as the kind-hearted Nancy and the benevolent Mr. Brownlow, imparts valuable lessons about loyalty, love, and the power of compassion. Through their interactions with Oliver, they serve as beacons of hope, offering him glimpses of a better world and ultimately helping him attain a more promising future.Personal Impact:Reading "Oliver Twist" has had a profound impact on my understanding of social injustices and the power of literature to highlight these issues. Charles Dickens' ability to create vivid, relatable characters and expose the harsh realities of the era is a testament to his skill as a writer. The novel serves as a reminder that even in the face of adversity and injustice, there is hope for change and a better tomorrow. Moreover, "Oliver Twist" encourages self-reflection and introspection, prompting readers to evaluate their own moral compass and consider their responsibility towards creating a just society. The novel's message of compassion and empathy remains relevant even today, urging us to stand up against inequality and advocate for the marginalized and voiceless. Conclusion:In conclusion, Charles Dickens' masterpiece, "Oliver Twist," is a profound and thought-provoking novel that sheds light on societal issues and inequalities. Through the vivid characters and intricate plot, the author highlights the socio-economic divisions present in Victorian England while emphasizing the importance of morality and virtue in a corrupt world. Reading this timeless classic deepened my understanding of social injustices and inspired me to play an active role in addressing inequality and advocating for a fairer society.。

The author who himself was born in a poor family wrote this novel in his twenties with a view to reveal the ugly masks of those cruel criminals and to expose the horror and violence hidden underneath the narrow and dirty streets in London. The hero of this novel was Oliver Twist, an orphan, who was thrown into a world full of poverty and crime. He suffered enormous pain, such as hunger, thirst, beating and abuse. While reading the tragic experiences of the little Oliver, I was shocked by his sufferings. I felt for the poor boy, but at the same time I detested the evil Fagin and the brutal Bill. To my relief, as was written in all the best stories, the goodness eventually conquered devil and Oliver lived a happy life in the end.One of the plots that attracted me most is that after the theft, little Oliver was allowed to recover in the kind care of Mrs. Maylie and Rose and began a new life. He went for walks with them, or Rose read to him, and he worked hard at his lessons. He felt as if he had left behind forever the world of crime and hardship and poverty. How can such a little boy who had already suffered oppressive affliction remain pure in body and mind? The reason is the nature of goodness.I think it is the most important information implied in thenovel by Dickens-he believed that goodness could conquer every difficulty. Although I don’t think goodness is omnipotent, yet I do believe that those who are kind-hearted live more happily than those who are evil-minded.。

Oliver Twist
Oliver twist, an orphan, who was thrown into a world full of poverty and crime. At the beginning, the overall picture of the film is black and white: rainy days, nights, dark muddy streets, dead trees as the background of the lens, the overall give a depressing, but the story ups and downs, people ignore the depressing picture sense. The film captures the main wonderful storyline of the novel. The filming is completed and jumping out: good and evil, motherly love, gratitude, honesty, warmth, cold, bread, real gentleman, procrastinating public servants ......
A ten-year-old kid who did his incompetent job in the poorhouse, there are many kids without parents worked there. And they were unable to eat enough because these greedy villain. Oliver Twist was finally forced by a "scapegoat" and on behalf of the big boys to proclaim the factory's "unfulfilled appetite for increased meals" forced to be dismissed. And then into a funeral parlor, boss apprentice, due to outstanding performance, peer jealousy, suffered humiliation, deliberately insulted his personality challenge, and ultimately to Oliver was stabbed. When Oliver got away from the funeral parlor, the picture of the film became bright liked full of hopes.Starry night to escape, after seven days, he arrived in London difficult to sleep on the streets, hunger and cold, in a corner of the market, dying, no one cares, in despair met a small pickpocket "clever ghost", he stole the market bread, let him eat. At the same time bring him to the "thief house", Fagin first feel like this kid, decided to train him. Fagin gave him a hot dog, wore his clothes, putted on shoes full of blood bare feet, gave him a bed, a child abandoned by the world, he has never loved before. So he was with them.Maybe the writer Dickens is optimistic, so at the ending, the thieves were captured and Oliver lived a happy life. The last scene of the film Oliver decided to go to jail to see him before Fagin was spent in the early morning hours, and the guards could not stop the two of them from crying, and he said that he would pray for him. Anyway, Oliver is differ from these thieves. He is kind and pure. What I understood was gratitude.
In this film, the sufferings of the bottom society, chaos and fatuous social
security management were fully reflected. Fagin instigated the kids to stealing. As he said that he was teaching them to survive. The social was so darkness. All the same, there always were many good things. The kind grandma saved Oliver who fainted on the road; the real gentlemen brought Oliver home and gave him a better life; a woman pickpocket not familiar with Oliver called Nancy, knowing that Oliver was threatened with death, she tried her best to protect him, telling Robert, the kind-hearted Oliver, that she had finally been killed by Pillywith a cane. This may be no reason, a sister, maybe she really has a little brother like Oliver; or is the "motherly love" deep down!
Finishing this film, to be honest, I can not blame those little thieves, and I can not say that Fagin is a bad man. Maybe he did was wrong, but his cares for Oliver also was sincerely. Character's personality is complex, its own human nature is multi-dimensional.What we should blame is the unfair government.。
