What is your ideal college like? For this problem, maybe different people have different views. As my opinion, Campus life is interesting, rich and colorful. There are so plenty of knowledge you should study and so much s kills you should master. Living in college, you could touch lots of informations which belongs to the bran-new of the world. Also it could widen our eyeshot. Studying in college is the times for us grounding for our future. So I think it's very important and interesting for me living in college.2.Please share with us your personal experience about someone who cared you andcommitted to your well-being and happiness. My classmates are very friendly, we always help each other when they meetdifficulties For example, one day, my friends and I go out to have a picnic. But when we were climbing mountain, I fell down. So I hurt my leg, I could hardly walk at all.One of my friends whose home is near brought me to his home. His mother is very kind, she helped me and my friend asked me :"How do you feel now? Do you need I send you to the hospital? "I was moved by him.3.From Bill Gates’ dropout of Harvard, can we tell that college education meansnothing to one’s success?Although it is true that Bill Gates has gotten great achievement and he dropped out from college. But it doesn't mean college education not work on his success. Instead, he had learned the knowledge of computer when he was in high school. He tried to build up a complex operating system when he was in college. So we find that it is the college education that provided Bill Gates the opportunity to have a dream and the opportunity of trying to realize it. So I think college education is important for us.4.From Bill Gates’ life, what conclusion can we draw as to the relationship betweencollege degree and success?First, the college education provides a relatively more focused education service on the field where you are aiming to, dreaming at or interested in, which is needed to have further achievements. And second, it offers a diverse but generally helpful atmosphere of learning and using knowledge, leading to a healthy upgrading of personal prospects. Finally, the college education tends to be more socialized in order to help students to get social abilities. So to sum up, we firmly believe that college degree is essential in becoming asuccessful person.5.What are the positive and (advantage and disadvantage ) of exercise?Exercise do us good in many respects .For example, taking exercise is good for our health. However, as the saying goes, "a coin has two side", and exercise is without exception. We may hurt ourselves if we are not careful enough. What’s more, excessive exercise can lead to the loss of many trace elements, it is bad for our health.6.One of your classmates wants to drop out in order to set up his own business. Please persuade him to give up his mind./link?url=c5s-Y7sRRncKHWe1ZpNKF_xZ1sxeFlRLzlIXU9pefPUF3PIPdwp8ZzRDTBcNI62KAY ZJ2FbFeoqD6ECKdKQQbZ99NxTKeXRdddpaLuXSBva&pn=51。

People constructed a power animal that had ability to rain and raise with the devil, which was the dragon. In the feudal age, the dragon symbolized the royal power, it was inviolable. Today, the dragon even becomes a kind of mascot, it belongs to the common people. In this new age, dragon is given the new life. It won’t only be the symbol of China but also the Chinese spirit and it will represent the Chinese nation as well.11.A lesson learned from a dying friend pr family memberwe should always make the most of everyday because you never know what could happen tomorrow. Because , I think ,this statement can be seen a lesson from the bad event without our expectation , such as our one of good friends or loved person passed away suddenly . Why I say the words , the reason is that this sentence make me remember one thing that occurred to my friends passed away in a car accident , she was only 20 years old . We are very close , we spent our childhood growing up together . Her death was a shock to all of us .And her death taught all of us that life was very fragile. It should not be taken for granted , therefore , we should always make the most of everyday because you never know what could happen tomorrow .12. What I want to do before dieNow, I am a college student ,if I receive the bad news that I will die ,I think ,the first I want to do is to accompany my parents and enjoy the time with my parents to express my love to them . The second is that ,because I am young ,the life for me is too short to do some thing meaningful ,and to do something I haven’t ever do to realize the v alue of my life .Besides , I want to tell people to be aware that the life is very fragile, and make them think about the value of their lives and encourage them to make full use of each day to pursue their dreams .13. Unit One1.How do you understand " Love without limitations"?From this passage we can know there had never been any limitations to what Jimmy’s love could accomplish. I think the title “love without limitations”is the way we treat others. Love the people around us no matter whether they are healthy, clever or kind-hearted.In our lives, we often see some people treat the disabled people badly. This is a very shameful action. We should have a kind heart no matter what we are doing. Jimmy’s love teaches the people around him love without limitations.2.People’s attitude toward the disabledThere are a lot of disabled people in our world. Some of them are disabled when they were born as Jimmy, and others were injured in some kind of disabling accident. Almost all of us feel sorry for them, but still some have the wrong attitude towards people with disabilities. While we should come to the conclusion that we have duty to take care of those disabled people, and we cannot look down upon them. They are the same as us, and even do better than us in some aspects. After all, we should try our best to help them, to show our love for them.As Jimmy’s sister, I will help Jimmy overcome the difficulty. Even though Jimmy is disabled, he also can learn many things. And he canalso help others. I will help him learn to live by himself. In the present life, he lives with his family members, but later I will help him stand up . I will try my best to help him, help him be confident. And Jimmy has a kind heart. He also makes us happy.3.The beggars in disguise in the street. Some people say:"The most hateful people are those beggars disguising as beggars for sympathy.”And I do not believe in beggars any more or believe that they actually have other means of living. They aren't poor at all. They are not worth of our sympathy and help. They are cheats. I would not give them any money, for it would encourage them to stay a bum and continue panning for money. Meanwhile, some effective measures must be taken to eliminate the beggars in disguise. It is high time to identify the frauds and teach them a proper lesson so that the really needy can continue to get help from society. In addition, the establishment of social welfare and social security system plays an urgent role in dealing with this kind of problem.Unit Two4.What do you know about the relation between iron and health? The iron is related with our health. Most of the people don’t take care of the iron. To some people, they should have a yearly blood test to check blood iron reserves. If iron levels are low, talk with a physician to see if the deficiency should be corrected by modifying your diet or by taking supplements. In general, it’s better to undo the problem by adding more iron-rich food to diet, so in our daily life, we need to eat more food including iron such as meat , chicken, and fish . We also can eat some dates, beans, and some leafy green vegetables. Don’t wait until our bodies lack iron.5.What do you know about the relation between exercise andhealth ?Discuss whatcontributes to good health? There is a direct correlation between physical exercise and overall health. If you get regular exercise and don't totally "junk out" regarding your diet, you will, in general, be healthier than someone who doesn't exercise. There is no medical practitioner or physiologist alive who will disagree with this idea. Not a single one. It is not necessary to become an athlete to improve your health, your quality of life, and your longevity.Exercise can help us keep healthy . Traditional school’s principle is that the score is the first.Second, Hyde School’s students are required to take performing artsand sports, and provided a community service. Traditional classroom is single and boring.Third, in Hyde School, parents take part in the program. Traditional school is opposite.Forth, it pay attention to develop the relationship between teachers and student. They deal with the academics together. In traditional high school setting, it’s teacher to the material and then to the student.I prefer Hyde School. I think it is more interesting. We can learn moreknowledge. We can improve ourselves all-sided . And with the parents’ help , we can success more easily. In Hyde School, there are less press.9.Do you think it necessary to involve parents in the education program?Yes, I do.When we meet with difficulties in learning or lives, if parents are involved, they will encourage us, let us have the confidence to face the difficulty. Our parents are our example , with their encouragement, we will actively face learning difficulties, fighting over them at an early date. And parents will set a model for their children. Children tend to do their utmost when their parents making similar efforts. Parents involved in the child's education also can supervise their children to study, there are some students in the case of only oneself can't concentrate on learning, accompanied by the parents, children will be very good study. So I thinkit necessary to involve parents in the education program.Unit Four10.Introduce some symbols of American culturewhen we come to America , we will think of some symbols of American culture immediately .First, the statue of liberty which is created by a French artist a monument celebrating US independence and the France-America alliance which is dedicated on the island in Upper New York Bay. Second , Barbie dolls the universally recognized Queen of the Dolls .Third American Gothic an often-copied interpretation of the solemn pride of American farmers.11.What do you know about the American people from the symbols?independentseeking for freedomment on young people's attitude towards foreign culture.Today we are in a globalized cultural world . people especially young people are more interested in foreign culture than our traditional culture. Naturally, there are a lot of cultures in the world and some of these cultures are beneficial while others are harmful. She is also an unordinary woman. She don’t want her relatives to feel the sorrow of her death.14.She has a severe ill and she is only skin and bones. But before she died, she sent all her family members home because she didn't want them to see her die. It shows that she is a considerable and selfless old lady. She loves her family. She has a big family and she is a mother of seven, and a grandmother of eighteen. But She takes good care of all her families. And she was used to do charity in many aspects. For example, she was a leader of volunteer in her community and a piano player. She teaches piano or over thirty years. She not only has graceful hands but also has a graceful heart.15.Your attitude towards death. To be or not to be ,most of people fear death. And few of us can stay calm when dealing with death. After all ,death is a normal phenomenon that we can never avoid being faced with. Although we Chinese tend toassociate it to infelicity, it’s cann’t be denied that everyone will inevitably end his life in a grave, however prominent and intelligent he is in life . Being afraid of death is justified ,however ,it is commonly acknowledged that in the face of death ,nothing but the attitude toward it matters. In many culture it is taboo to raise the topic of death in everyday discourse, but this is not the case with the Chinese people .To them life and death are a common conversational topic. Their matter of fact approach is illustrated in the sayings: Human life is nothing but a stage over which the sun and the moon function as two spotlights; We live our lives in the same way as grass passes the seasons from spring to autumn; There is no distinction between the old and the young among those on their way to the tomb. These aphorisms exemplify the belief that man is born to die, and that life is merely a journey from womb to tomb, a natural process governed by an objective law that no one can escape or flout. No matter what endeavors one might make, everyone succumbs to mortality within a certain time span. Nothing can be done other than follow the natural process from birth to death, just as grass sprouts in spring like the essence of youth and withers in autumn like the onset of old age. Apart from accepting the truth that we human being are not immortal, we should extend our deep grief to who have passed away then moveon to the bright future instead of immersing ourselves in great mourning. Moreover we should do our best to make each day counts.Unit Six16.What do you know about advance signs or warnings of an earthquake? some behaviors of animals are good signs of earthquakes. Second, one's personality can influence what they think, for example, Ma Yun, who is great creative, coming up with the idea that offering extremely discounts for their consumers in the single's day. Also, this can decide whether he can succeed or not. So, personality can influence many things. And other people also evaluate one man by his personality. A good personality is very important.Sometimes it can help you get the chance. And you will succeed. So one's personality is so important as to influence their success.20.How do you see one’s academic performance at scho ol in relation totheir future achievement?I think someone's academic performance at school can influence his futureachievement in some way. and it is very important ,But not the decidingfactor .first, from the economic point of view, a person's achievement and money directly related to a great extent, which is to how much wealth he has size to measure a person's accomplishments, such as jack ma. From the perspective of the history of ma, school learning and his today's achievement is not necessarily linked, and is the key to his understanding, tact and to grasp the opportunity. Second, from the Angle of culture, a person's ideological achievements have great relationship with its knowledge reserves, and the key to it is thought in the process of learning in school period. Why or why not?I think that prenuptial agreements are bad ideas which is one of thereason leading your marriage failure. Because the family is based on trust. They must love each other if one couple decided to make a family. So they are ready to face difficulties. Even if there are some contradiction, they can deal with it together. This is love. And if one couple sign a premarital agreement before marriage, that indicate they don’t trust each other.23.A topic for debate; nothing can kill romance faster than a prenup.I firmly believed that everyone wants to have a romantic marriage.Signing prenuptial agreeme nts means that you don’t believe your spouse, not to say romantic. Prenuptial agreements are bad for love, bad for relationships, and bad for marriage. So I think nothing can kill romantic faster than prenup.24.Discuss the possible roles that a premarital agreement may play.As saying goes:”Every coin has two sides.”Prenuptial agreements also have both benefits and harm. On the one hand, it can protect the considerable accumulation of wealth of one of the couples and save a couple from a terrible marriage. But on the other hand the prenuptial agreement may lead marriage to failu re.Additional discussion:25.Should drivers be banned from using cell phones?Numerous studies have determined that talking on a cell phone while driving is just as dangerous as drunk driving. Therefore, cell phones must be banned to drivers.Firstly, using a phone while driving is a potential trigger to accidents and will make a lot of lives lost. Drivers who talk on a cell phone tend to respond less quickly, and are much more likely to cause a crash.Secondly, cell phone use can influence traffic. A person using cell phone while driving may lose control of their speed. It's simply inconsiderate to risk the lives of others.Third, it's also a very bad example for younger generations. Teenagers may think that using a phone and driving at the same time seems cool, so they tend to act this way when they are of age to drive. This will become a vicious cycle and more people will get hurt. It's obvious that driving while using a cell phone may put other people's life at risk, it also puts yourself in a dangerous situation. Therefore, drivers should be definitely be banned from cell phones.26.Should people be banned from smoking in public places? From my point of view people should be banned from smoking in public places. Recently, the phenomenon of smoking is more and moreuniversal\common. It has been estimated that smokers have made up half of the population in China. And the smokers are becoming younger and younger, even including some middle school students. In modern society, more and more people have realized that smoking is harmful for people's health. However, some people still enjoy smoking. Why? Because some of them think it is a kind of fashion, some think it is of great fun, some think it is a way of relaxing themselves and other think that smoking can refresh themselves. In fact, smoking is a bad habit. It can cause a lot of diseases, such as lung disease, intellectual deterioration(智力衰退)even stroke(中风).What's more, smoking in public can also cause passive smoking, which affects the non-smokers. For examples, it is harmful for the non-smokers' eyes, noses and throat, even cause lung and heart diseases. Meanwhile smoking is a waste of money. Besides, careless smokers may cause dangerous fires.Smoking is harmful and it is not only bad for smokers themselves, but also bad for non-smokers.Therefore, I hope all the smokers can give up smoking for themselves and also for the people around them.。

Let’s TalkStudent: Professor, thank you for graining me this interview. I’m Susan, a reporter from the Student Union magazi ne. Many students have difficultly memorizing things. Since you‘re an outstanding psychologist, could you give us some tips on how top improve our memory?Professor: Well, some people have better memories than others, but that’s largely because they are better at creating mental images.Student: If I’m not good at creating images, what can I do?Professor: Practice helps. And the mind remembers things better if they are connected with other images. For example, I you have to pick up several items at the grocery store, say, carrots, egg, bananas, and milk, you can create a picture in your mind of a giant carrot, and hanging from it, a banana.Student: Then I could have a giant milk carton pouring milk over the carrot and banana.Professor: Certainly. Then what would you do with the egg?Student: Hmmm. I’d visualize an egg-shaped UFO flying across the sky.Professor: There you go. The more you apply the ideas, the easier it gets. Besides creating pictures, there’s another technique that is very useful.Student: What is it?Professor: Establishing an association. Suppose you are looking for lost keys.Relax, and let your mind look for all the images connected with those keys--their feel, the sounds they make.Student: How will that help?Professor: You might remember the sound the keys made when you placed then in a drawer or cold touch of the keys in your jacket were you left them.Student: Oh my gosh! I have to run. It’s time my English class. I see an image of my teacher staring at my empty seat in the classroom. Many thanks, Professor.Professor: Not at all, and good luck with your memory.Ways of Improving One’s MemoryExamples: Creating imagesTo remember the items to buy sat the grocery store such as carrots, eggs, bananas, and milk Images that you may help:giant carrot and a banana hanging from it2. a giant milk carton pouring milk over the carrot and banana3. an egg-shaped UFO flying across the skyEstablishing associationsTo find your lost keysAssociations with sound touch that may help:1. The sound of the keys might remind you of y\having placed then in a drawer.2. The cold touch of the keys might remind you of them in your jacket.SAMPLEA: As we just heard from the interview, the technique of associating certainly important in promoting memory.B: And according to the interview, creating images helps remember things. If your shopping list includes eggs, you might visualize an egg or an egg-shaped UFO flying across.A: Another important factor in improving memory can be of interest. If you get interested in something, you can remember it better.B: Yeah. And if you recognize facts into meaningful groups, you can remember them better. For instance, if you want to memorize all the names of American presidents, it is not easy. If, however, you arrange them chronologically into three periods: those before Abraham Lincoln, those between Abraham Lincoln and Franklin Roosevelt, and those after, then the task will be less difficult.A: It is common sense that if you glance at something quickly, you tend to forget it quickly. If you stuffy it slowly, you can remember it better.B: Another technique is intensive practice or repeating. As a saying goes, practice makes perfect. If you repeat something again and again, you will eventually learn it by heart.A: But we should not work too hard. When we get tired, our learning efficiency declines. We need breaks so the mind can rest and absorb what has been learned.U2 IV. She’s knowledgeable. She told us a lot of interesting historical events in class.A: Bur I find her boring! She could put the entire basketball team to sleep—during the championship game! Which class do you find dull?B: I hate the economics course. The teacher always talks above my head. So I’ve lost interest in the course.A: Bur economic is my favorite. The professor is smart. Most students really learn a lot from him.B: But he’s tough! He expects a lot. You have to work hard in his class, or you’ll probably fail.A: No pain, no gain.B: Actually not many students opt for his class.A: What’s wrong with him?B: Often the highest grade he gives on a term paper is B-. Last seme4stwe he failed more than a third of the students and I was one of them.A: Oh, that’s too bad.B: Well, how do you find your English teacher? I don’t think much of her, either.A: I find her kind, always willing to answer my questions; she always gives me high marks.B: You’re rubbing salt into my wound. She failed me last semester.MODEL3 Publish or perishChris: Tell us, Professor Grant, What are your primary duties as a professor?Professor Grant: Well, I do a lot of research and writing. It’s rough being an associate professor. It’s publish or perish.Chris: So you spent a lot of time in your office?Professor Grant: Yes, but I also have to prepare class motes, give lectures, hold office hours. Teaching is an important part of being a professor.Chris: With all those responsibilities, you must make a lot of money.Professor Grant: I wish. Actually, I spend a lot of tome applying foe grants to fund my research. Then I can offer assistantships and scholarships to the worthy graduate.Chris: I see why they call you “the boss”. But being a professor sounds pretty competitive.Professor Grant: Actually, I think you were in one of my classes…Chris: Um….I think you’re mistaken, Pro fessor Grant!Professor Grant: No, I remember very clearly now! You owe me an essay!Chris: Sorry, I have too much work to do for the Student Union Newsletter, and I have to work two jobs to pay for school.Professor Grant: So you get an F in this course.SAMPLE DIALOGA: Professor Smith, I’m from the Student Union newspaper. Many students want to know a western professor’s main duties and compare them with a Chinese professor’s duties.B: Well, I do a lot of research and writing. It’s tough to be a professor.A: Chinese professor are also facing increasing pressure, as they are required to do more research than before. Professor Smith, do you spend al lot of time on teaching?B: Yes, I have to prepare class notes, give lectures, host seminar, and hold office hours. In fact, teaching is an important part of being a professor, though some professors believe that research is more important than teaching.A: With all those responsibilities, you must make a lot of money, I suppose.B: I wish. Salary is a sensitive topic in the west. Let me say something about research funds. Actually I spend a lot of time applying for grants to fund my research.A: How are you going to use the grants?B: With that money, I can offer assistantships and scholarship to graduate students who can help with my research project.A: Now I see why they call you “boss”. But being a professor sounds pretty competitive.B: That’s true. A lot of young teachers want to be promoted to a professorship.A: What you said has given us a fairly clear picture of a western professor’s primary responsibilities. Thank you very much for your time.B: You’re welcomeV. Let’s TalkHi, everybody. My topic today is “Problems with Our Educational System”.There are a lot of things in our educational system that I don’t agree with. It seems that educators just want to give standardized tests, which focus only on academic performance but neglect students’ abilities and interests in other areas. I think there’re a lot of people who are very intelligent, but haven’t had the opportunities they could’ve had, had they been educated in a broader-minded educational systems. I feel that a lot of courses that students are focused to take in high school are too academic, and, as a result, many kids lost their interest in learning.Educators have failed to recognize various kinds of intelligence. They often exert a lot of pressure on students to be as well-rounded as possible. I think being well-rounded isn’t really possible. And as a consequence some students who are believed to be intelligent can’t get into good colleges if they, for example, haven’t scored well on the math section, even if they ate brilliant writers.Another thing that disturbs me is that the so-called “weak students” are separated from the rest of the school. Some kids are kept in a separate class id their grades are lower then others. And they’ve very aware of their social position, you know. I think it causes them to act in a way that is not really positive. They’re just acting in a way that th ey are expected to act. Often their grades go from bad to worse. And that’s pretty sad to me. I think that many of the kids in those classed are intelligent, but never actually realize their potential because of the way they are treated very early on in their education.Problems ResultsEducators just want to give standardized tests. They only focus on academic performance but neglect students’ abilities and interests in other areas.Kids lose interest in learning.Educators often exert a lot of pressure on students to be as well-rounded as possible. Some intelligent kids can’t enter good colleges.“Weak” students are separated from the rest of the school.Their grades go from bad to worse.Debate SAMPLEA: Many ads about English classes for children say, “Don’t let your kids lose the competition just because they start later.” I quite agree. I hear young children often learn a foreign language faster then adults.B: It’s hard to say. Kids may learn the pronunciation better than adults, but adults usually learn vocabulary and grammar faster.A: You can learn vocabulary and grammar later on; but when you grow up, you can hardly change your pronunciation.B: But if they learn the wrong pronunciation from the beginning? If they don’t learn English when they are young in the right way, it’ll affect their English studiesA: Anyway, some good or “key” schools give English tests to kids before admitting them.B: English is important, bur other subjects like Chinese and math ate equally important. If kids spend too much time on English, they have little time left for other subjects.A: Some people say that learning a foreign language can help develop children’s mental abilities such as memory, attention span and concentration, which will e of help in learning other subjects.B: But too much time for studying and too little left for playing, children’s moral and physical development will be affected.A: Well, it’s difficult for me to convince you, and vice versa. Let’s agree to disagree.U3 IV. Speaking OutMODEL 1 Is youth wasted on the young?Amy: I’d like to talk to you, so stop what you’re doing for a minute.Bill: What is it, Amy? I’m having a hectic time working on this report for tomorrow’s meeting.Amy: Well, you’re always pretty busy, and it’s been more fi ve years, almost six, since we were married.Bill: Yes, time has gone so fast, but they’ve been good years.Amy: I know, but I want to have a baby—I want us to have a baby.Bill: I know you do. But remember, we said we’d wait until we could afford it.Am y: But five years is a long time to wait. Anyway, it’s long enough.Bill: I’m this close to getting a promotion.Amy: What has that got to do with it? We could wait forever if we wait for the “perfect” moment. Soon we’ll be too old to enjoying having a ba by.Bill: You know, you have a good point. This report can wait. I’ll do it tomorrow morning. Let’s open a bottle of wine and enjoy ourselves.SAMPLE DIALOGA: I’ve got something important to tell you: I’m pregnant.B: What? You’re pregnant? Wow, I’d love to have a baby.A: Well, I understand you want to be a father. It’s been more than three years, almost four, since we were married.B: Yes, time has passed so quickly, but we still didn’t have a baby.A: I know, but we can’t afford to have one now. If I leave my job for more than two weeks, I’ll lose it forever.B: I know you will. But remember, if we don’t have one now, it’ll be too late. We’ll be busier in future.A: There is something in what you said. Four years is a long time to wait. But I really like my job. What’s more, I’m very close to getting promotion.B: But a baby borne by a woman in her 30s may be physically and intellectually less healthy. If we wanted to hold onto your job, we would wait forever. Soon we’ll be too old to enjoy a baby.A: You really have a point. I’ll choose the baby over the job.B: Good, I’ll try harder to make both ends meetMODEL2 So many people in the United States get divorced!Kim: Hi Amy.Amy: Hi! Look at this headline, Kim.Kim: Wow! So many people in the United States get divorced!Amy: But this is not uncommon in west. In some places, the divorce rate can be as high as 50 percent.Kim: It seems strange to me that Westerners fall head heels in love quickly, if not at first sight; but they also leave each other quickly.Amy: Is it the same in your country?Kim: I don’t think so. In my country, some marriages break up, but most couples stay together.Amy: Do people get married young?Kim: Not really. Not many people get married before the age of 20.Amy: Hmm. Do woman usually work after they get married?Kim: No, a lot of women stay home to take care of their families. But more women work now.SAMPLE DIALOGA: It seems strange to me that Westerners fall head heels in love quickly, but they also leave each other quickly.B: Is it the same where you live?A: I don’t think so. In my country, most couples stay together.B: What is the divorce rate in your homeland?A: The divorce rate can be as low as 10 percent.B: That’s quite lower t han in our country.A: Well, what’s the divorce rate in your country?B: About 50 percent, if I’m not mistaken.A: Oh, that’s really high!B: Do people get married young?A: Not really. Not many people get married before the age of 22.B: Many of our young people get married before 20. Is it common for women in your country to work after they marry?A: Yes, most wives work even after they’ve got a baby.B: In my country, a lot of wives stay home to look after their families.MODEL3 Why not have both our parents here for Christmas?Amy: You know, Christmas is coming. And I haven’t seen Dad for ages—he always has such great stories to tell.Bill: I know we went t my folks’ last year, but my Mom’s been pretty sick. This might be her last Christmas.Amy: She’s been ill, but don’t exaggerate. You just don’t like my mother. That’s why you don’t want to go to my parentsBill: She’s never liked me. Never thought I was good enough for you.Amy: Well, you’re not… But seriously, Mom’s not so sad. She’s just got a thic k skin and likes to hide her feelingsBill: I don’t think so.Amy: Why not have our both families here for Christmas?Bill: That would make twenty-two of us if we invited everybody.Amy: Why not just have our parents here for Christmas?Bill: Good idea. Just don’t sit me next to your mother.SAMPLE DIALOGA: You know, the Spring Festive is coming, and we have to consider where to have the Spring Festive Eve dinner.B: What have you got in mind?A: Since I’ve been busy, I haven’t seen mom for quite some ti me—she’s always been so kind to us.B: I know we went t my folks’ last year, but my mom’s been sick. She needs comfort.A: My parents also need company. If I don’t have the Spring Festive Eve dinner with them for two years running, they will be extremely disappointed. As a matter of fact, my mom isalready blaming me for neglecting them.B: What can we do then?A: Let me think. Why not invite our parents here for the dinner?B: But they live so far away from us. It’s inconvenient for old people.A: Then we can invite four of them to a restaurant near them.B: Good, idea. On the next morning we can visit both our parents.A: And don’t forget to bring gifts.V. Let’s TalkIf you want me to tell you why I remarried, that’s my story.Remarried is the last thing I’d consider for two years after my divorce. I had heard about the high rate of remarriage failure. More importantly, I wondered how remarrying would affect my 10-year-old son. My heart ached when I saw my son draw a picture of himself, my ex-wife and me holding hands, with sadness on our faces. Since my parents have married and divorce eight times altogether, I hope my son would not have to go through the same pain I had experienced. As a result, my primary focus after divorce was my relationship with my son John, not finding a wife.As time went by, my son gradually grew up, and he became of my loneliness and anxiety. One day he asked me to consider dating. The first timer he said this, I ignored him. The second time he brought it up, I reconsidered my reservations about dating. I began to date Maria. As our relationship developed over the following year, I was concerned about my son would actually respond to her. At first, John’s affection for Maria was lukewarm. For instance, he would hug her, but the act seemed mechanical. But after several times, he warmed up to her. Seeing that the time was ripe, I asked Maria to marry me. She accepted, so our family of two smoothly became a family of three. Thinking back, I believe my remarrying was the right choice. Some single-parents are still besitant about remarrying. Now that you’ve heard my story, I hope you won’t hesitate and let golden opportunities slip through your fingers.Changes in the Speaker’s Attitude to RemarriageReasons or Detailed DescriptionFor two years after my divorce, remarriage was the last word I’d consider.1. High rate of remarriage failure.2. Remarriage would affect my son.①He drew a picture of the three of us.②My parents married and divorced eight times and I hope my son would have no such pain.③My primary focus was my son, not a wife.I ignored my son’s suggestion that I consider dating. He grew up and became conscious of my loneliness and anxiety.I reconsidered m reservation about dating and began to date MariaThe second time he brought the issue up.I was concerned about my son’s respond to her.At first his affection for her was lukewarm: his hug was mechanical; but several months later he warmed up to her.I asked Maria to marry me and she accepted.Seeing time was ripe. Our family of two became a family of three.I believe my remarrying was the right choice.Debate SAMPLEA: On the whole I don’t support remarriage. Too many remarriages have turned out to be unsuccessful and end in divorce.B: If you say many remarriages have failed, that means other remarriages have survived, or even bloomed. We should not only look at the dark of the issue.A: But there’re too many factors contribute to the failure of a second marriage. For example, as you become older, you may find it increasingly difficult to adjust to a different pattern of life with a new mate. Once there’s a conflict neither is willing to give in.B: There’re conflicts everywhere, but you should not neglect that an adult has psychological and physical needs. Without a companion, one may feel lonely and anxious.A: In a new family the husband tends to compare his new wife’s weak point with his ex-wife’s strong point. And the wife does the same.B: I wish you’d seen the film The Sound of Music. The governess Maria blended so smoothly into the Captain’s family.A: It is not easy for children to accept the new mother or father. It is simply impossible for them to forget their birth-mother’s loving care and the happy moments in their childhood.B: But how happy are the Captain’s seven children with their adopted mother Maria! If the new mother shows genuine care for the kids, they will gradually warm to her. On the other hand, many children in a single-parent family are under psychological pressure and suffer from anxiety attack. So, the single life is not the right choice.U4 IV. Speaking OutMODEL 1 Can you give me some tips about how to get a good job?Susan: John, can you give me some tips about how to get a good job?。

新视野视听第三册口语题目参考Unit 011. What factors may weaken one's memory? It is often reported that long-term poor nutrition may affect the functioning of the brain, thus damaging both the long-term and short-term memory. Also harmful to one's memory is lack of water. Elderly people need plenty of water to guarantee their memory works. A third factor is lack of sleep. Without enough sleep, one may feel tired and have difficulty concentrating, not to mention learning things by heart.2. Can you describe some possible advantages of having a poor memory?A poor memory may have some advantages. With the passage of time, the sad memories will fade. Those with a short memory tend to recover faster than those with a tenacious memory. For the same reason, forgetful people may be more ready to forget their daily worries and forgive others for their offenses. With a less retentive mind, they may enjoy life more.3. What can you do to make sure all your relatives and friends are on the guest list for your birthday party?First of all, I would check my address book and tick thenames of those I intend to invite. Then, to avoid possible omissions, I would ask some of my close relatives, friends and colleagues to look at my initial list of names. They might suggest one or two additions. In this way, I can reduce the chances of missing those I should invite.4. How do you ensure important phone numbers are always at your fingertips?I usually remember my close relatives and friends' phone numbers through frequent use. But my memory cannot always be trusted. In this case, a mobile phone is extremely useful because it can store many phone numbers. But when the batteries run down, the mobile phone can't help either. So I also rely on my address book. To play safe, I prefer to have two address books. I take one with me and leave the other at home. Thus I can always find the number I need.My memory is fading /my mind has gone blankEvery forgets something sometimes/one thing or another thing from time to timeHave a powerful memoryWhat’s wrong with my memoryUnit 021. What subject do you like best? What made you like it: your personal interests, the teacher, the practical applications of the course in future, etc.?I like physics best, though many classmates find it hard. A lot of factors led me to like this subject. As early as in high school, I was amazed at the laws scientists like Newton and Einstein discovered. What I they found out changed the world. Luckily, my physics teacher at this university is excellent. He is knowledgeable and patient. Just because of him, I'm willing to spend lots of my spare time on this subject. Most importantly, what I have learned from the physics course will be of great help in landing a good job. Nowadays many companies think physics majors often have a solid academic foundation and can easily adapt themselves to a wide variety of positions. 2. Do you think it is necessary for some Chinese children to do a lot of difficult math problems for the Olympic Math Competition? Some parents believe that by doing a lot of difficult math problems, their children will have a solid foundation in math. Some parents even believe that trying to solve hard mathproblems will promote the growth of children's brains and help develop their logical reasoning ability and concentration, which will facilitate learning in other areas. On the other hand, many people believe that it is unnecessary and unnatural for children to study difficult [math problems. Some people even believe that strict math training harms children's moral and physical development. Fierce competition may dampen the spirit of teamwork, which is so important in the contemporary world.3. What study habits seem to be common among successful students? Many top students seem to have these good study habits: They tend to have a strong sense of time and organize their time well. They may draw up their study plan well in advance. While studying, they check whether they are working ahead of schedule or lagging behind it. They usually work in a systematic way. Before class, they preview the text to get some idea about what the teacher is going to say and which part of the text is difficult. In class, they listen attentively, take notes of the main points of the lecture, and ask questions when they don't understand. After class, they review what they have learned. By going through the text and the notes, they can remember important information.4. How to prevent students' cheating in examinations?First, the administrators must adopt severe measures to punish that disgraceful practice. In the case of serious offenders, it is not enough just to give them an F. They must repeat the whole year, or even be expelled from school. Second, it is more important for teachers to enforce the university rules strictly. When they see students cheating, they should not turn a blind eye to it.Unit 031. What do you think are the things that contribute to a successful marriage? The success of a marriage is due to many factors, of which love is obviously the most important one. Other [factors, which are not entirely unrelated to love, include shared values and interests, mutual understanding, | commitment, effective communication, similar educational background, equal economic status, physical fitness, etc. With the same values and moral standards, friends may develop into lifelong partners. After marriage, there needs to be a commitment to one another, and to the well-being and development of the family. Similar educational background and intelligence levelsare also considered important by some people. They believe that only with mutual appreciation and understanding can the couple get along easily and happily.2. Why do people get divorced? Can you guess some of the reasons?Sometimes it is because the couple did not really understand each other before the marriage, as love was [blind at that time. After marriage, they see each other's shortcomings more clearly. When disappointment grows beyond control, divorce becomes inevitable. Sometimes it is because one of the couple has changed after the marriage. For example, after the husband is promoted to a leading position, he may have a hectic |time all year round, with hardly any time left to be with his wife. Sometimes one of the couple has lost his or [her job and becomes irritable. Due to the continual quarrelling at home, the family breaks up.3. What do you think of the lives of single mothers? Most people look upon single mothers with sympathy. Single mothers have to support their children on their [own. They may find it difficult to provide their children with all the luxuries children of two-parent families enjoy. Worse still, they may be under great psychological pressure. Moreover, their children may develop a sense of inferiority. When they seeother children are bathed in the love of both parents, they may feel bitterly disappointed.4. What is your view of the fact that the wife's housekeeping duties remain the same even when she works outside? What could be the solution? If the wife works during the day just like the husband, then it is obviously unfair for the wife to shoulder all the housekeeping duties. If the husband can share the household chores with the wife, the love between them can be strengthened. Unfortunately, influenced by tradition, many men are unwilling to do housework, thinking it to be unmanly. If we want to change the situation, the media had better give more publicity to "model husbands" who assume a large part of those duties. Gradually, people may change their image of a husband who constantly sits in front of the TV, watching football games or international news. Also, the development of modern technology and the appearance of more modern conveniences will further lighten the housekeeping burden. IUS the problem of who should do the housework will become less important.Unit 041. What do you think people will choose: a low-paid jobone likes, or a boring well-paid job?I think many people prefer to find a job that they really like. After all, most people want to enjoy themselves rather than have plenty of money without a sense of achievement and happiness. On the other hand, some people may choose a well-paid job instead of a job close to their heart to earn more money. If one is in serious financial difficulty, one can hardly afford the luxury of a dream job. Money is the lop priority. 2. Do you think one's character is important in finding a job? Why or why not?I think it is. Although many employers lay emphasis on candidates' educational background and work experience, some believe that candidates' character is equally important for a successful career. In contemporary society, many projects are so large that they require the coordination of a group of people father than a single person's effort. Therefore, a good team player is often welcomed. Professionally skilled people may not be able to accomplish a large project if they are easily angered and cannot get along with their colleagues. If you want to assume a leading position, you should be firm on important issues while allowing your subordinates plenty of freedom. In fact it is becoming increasingly common for companies to test candidates' EQ (emotional quotient) beforethey decide to hire them.3. What courses are useful for one's job?In fact, all courses may turn out to be useful in our future careers. The basic courses we take in the first two wears of university lay a solid foundation for our future development. In the case of computer majors, for example, the math they have learned will enhance their ability for logical reasoning. The English courses I they have followed will help them read the literature in their fields with greater ease. Art courses may increase their sense of balance and beauty. However, the courses in their specialties are often of greater relevance and value for their career development. I For instance, computer majors may find courses such as programming, computer network, database, and CAD (Computer Aided Design) more closely related to their future work.4. What questions do you think are often asked in an interview? Why are they asked? To start with, the interviewers may ask you about your education. In this way they can gather information to see if you have acquired the basic knowledge required for the job you are applying for. Perhaps most of them will ask you about your work experience in this field to see if you have thenecessary skills for the job you have in mind. Usually employers do not like an entirely inexperienced employee. They may also ask about your character, weaknesses and strengths to find out what kind of person you are. They may even ask you something that is not directly related to the job in question. Your answers tend to show your intelligence level and communication skills.Unit 051. Do you want to be a boss who is starting a company or an employee with a high salary?Different people may have different choices. Some people may put a regular job above good pay for a variety of reasons. Employees usually know what they are supposed to do and have a fairly stable life. With a high-paying job, they and their families can live a comfortable life. When they have accumulated enough money, they can start a business when conditions are favorable. On the other hand, many people want to set up a business of their own right now. Indeed, launching a company involves a lot of effort. What is worse, there is risk. But they like challenges. By trying to establish a company, not only may they make lots of money, they can also develop their abilities to overcome difficulties.2. What kind of boss would you like to work for: one who is inefficient but kind, or one who is efficient but very strict with employees? Many people, if not most, prefer to work for a kind, good-natured boss. Under such a boss, they feel secure and happy. The boss won't scold employees simply because they have made a small mistake. He will also be generous. It is true that sometimes because of his lack of ability, his company may not reap huge profits, and employees can hardly get a raise. But happiness is surely more important than money. However, some people, including me, will choose to work for a boss who is capable but very strict with his subordinates. If the boss is capable, he will lead the company to one new height after another. When the company thrives, all employees will benefit. Even if the boss may give an employee a severe dressing-down for something he or she did, the employee can learn a lesson from the event. Under such a boss, employees can gain valuable experience, which may serve as a good foundation for them to start a business of their own in the future.3. Why do some people think sports clothes and shoes provide a good business opportunity? What age groups do you think the business people should target? Why?With more leisure time and money, many people pay more attention to their health and recreation. As a result, more and more people will engage in sports, and they will buy more fitness gear, including sports clothes and shoes. Obviously this provides a hot business opportunity. In my opinion, business people should target young people first. They are active and participate more in sports than other age groups. But business people should not neglect older people. After retirement, they often find their health on the decline, and therefore have the motivation for fitness exercises. As for middle-aged people, many of them are under such great pressure at work that they can hardly afford the time for sports. |4. If you wanted to start a business, which factors would you consider: your education and ability, your money, or the market? Why?If I wanted to launch a business, I would consider all of these factors, for they all play an indispensable role. First of all, I would consider my ability. Since I majored in biology, I would be cautious in starting a company to sell something I am not familiar with such as building materials or DVDs. With my educational background, I may find it easier to run a company selling bio-tech products. The next thing I would have o take into account, is the money available. Suppose theestablishment of a company required a capital of a million dollars, I would try to see whether I could get a loan. If not, I would give up the idea and try to set up a smaller service company that required less capital. Last but not least, I would survey the market to see if the products I planned to deal with could be sold. If they were unmarketable, I had better give up the idea of founding a company in this area. If they sold well, then I would go ahead.Unit 061. Why do you think some people smoke? What are the disadvantages of smoking? Some people think smoking makes them relax. Some people smoke just because all those around them smoke. Some believe that by passing cigarettes around, it will be easier for them to start a friendship. Others claim that smoking is a precondition for a booming tobacco industry, which in turn ensures a large tax income for the state. But I think those reasons, if we can call them reasons, are insignificant compared with the harm smoking brings. I Smoking is harmful to one's health. It can lead to many diseases. Long-term smoking may result in lung diseases, or even lung cancer. Also, some heavy smokers may suffer frombreathing difficulty, high blood pressure, heart trouble, amongst other diseases. It has been proved that even non-smokers who breathe in the smoke can develop health problems. Moreover, cigarettes cost money. Some chain smokers consume two packs of cigarettes a day. This can be an unnecessary financial burden on a family that is not rich.2. What do you think can be done to improve older people's lives if their children do not live with them?First of all, children should visit their parents from time to time. This is a sign of concern, which can be a great comfort to them. Even if people are terribly busy under the pressure of work, they can at least call their parents to say hello. Furthermore, children should provide their parents with what they need. If older people can get money or I other supplies on a regular basis, they may get a sense of security. Also, the government should establish more homes and organize more activities to meet the increasing I needs of an aging population. If some older people prefer to live at home, they should hire caregivers. In the light of their shortage of money, an expert has proposed a system under which aged people can mortgage their apartments to the bank in exchange for a monthly income. By the time they pass away, the apartments belong to the bank. But at least the old people enjoy a decentlife while they are alive.3. Why do some people become alcoholics? How can they solve their drinking problems? Some people drink because their parents drink a lot, so they follow suit. Some people pick up the habit of drinking because they feel lonely or bored, others drink when they are sad or angry, and still others drink to celebrate happy occasions. Gradually, they drink more and more until they are hooked on alcohol. To solve drinking problems, people should be informed about the dangers of too much alcohol consumption, such as high blood pressure, heart disease, liver trouble, and so on. It is also reported that alcohol can damage brain cells and memory. Under the influence of alcohol, one can hardly concentrate or think deeply, so their work efficiency drops. Worse still, drunks often cause traffic accidents or resort to physical violence. Moreover, one must have strong willpower to give up drinking. But unfortunately, few people are strong-willed enough to defeat alcoholism on their own. Often, they need external help from parents, spouses, friends, doctors or an organization like Alcoholics Anonymous.4. What should be done to help unemployed people? Before unemployed people find a job, their basic living standard should be met. They need subsidies from thegovernment to live a normal life, which includes money for food, clothes, shelter and transportation. It is also important for unemployed people to be trained for re-employment. The government should offer training programs to update their skills so that they will become competitive in the job market again.Unit 071. According to your experience, what damages are being done to the environment? sand stormLittering. Some people throw away paper, cigarette butts, empty cans or even batteries in public places or in scenic sites. Pollution. When households and factories dump sewerage and harmful substances into rivers and lakes, water pollution can be serious. Air pollution may worsen as the economy develops. If the smoke from factory chimneys does not meet environmental standards, it pollutes the air. Also, the increasing number of cars brings further deterioration to the quality of the air. The cigarettes people smoke also contribute to the pollution. Poisonous Substances. When we discard air-conditioners and refrigerators, we release poisonous substances like CFCs, which deplete the ozone layer or create a hole in the ozone layer. When you use aerosol spray on yourhair, you are spreading environmentally-damaging freon as well.2. Can you think of some measures to protect forests?I think the most important thing to do is to create a law to forbid the cutting of trees in certain areas. Even when timber is needed for construction, logging should be well planned. In addition to the law, we also need law enforcement personnel who will fine those who fell trees illegally. It is not enough to protect the existing forests. We must also plant trees to make new forests. We should also grow various types of trees to ensure bio-diversity. To make the afforestation program successful, the government should award those units and individuals that have made outstanding contributions.3. If a chemical plant has to dump a poisonous substance into the river, but its closing-down means that many workers will lose their jobs and the local economy will be affected, then what do you propose to do?In my opinion, the first step we can take is to introduce advanced ecological technology to make sure that the sewerage from the plant is properly treated before it is discharged into the river. Since some company managers are unwilling to spend money treating pollutants, they may dumpnoxious substances during the night. So it is necessary to set up a watchdog team to supervise the plant's sewerage treatment. If the plant fails to meet the ecological standards, we have no choice but to shut it down. After all, human life is more important than anything else. If the workers lose their jobs because of the close-down, the government can give them subsidies and run training programs so that they can find new jobs in other sectors of the economy. If the local economy is badly hit by the close-down, the central government can consider subsidizing the local government for a certain period of time until the jobless workers are re-employed.4. Which types of energy should we use: wood, coal, petroleum, water power, nuclear energy or solar energy? Give your reasons. In my opinion, we should try our best to avoid using wood and coal as fuel. The burning of wood creates air pollution. Moreover, trees cannot be reproduced easily. It takes dozens of years or even hundreds of years for a young tree to grow into a big tree. Similarly, coal burning pollutes the air. It would be even more difficult to reproduce coal. The formation of coal takes thousands of years. Nowadays, people use petroleum the most. Cars, ships, aircraft and many factories depend on it. It causes less pollution than coal and wood, but it is alsonon-renewable. To leave enough resources for future generations, we need sustainable development. We have to use those fossil fuels less and turn to other types of energy such as water power, nuclear energy and solar energy.Unit 081. Compare air and rail transport and discuss the advantages and disadvantages. It is obvious that air transport or air travel is fast. Within hours, a plane can carry passengers and cargo to a place, thousands of miles away. Business people can fly to a distant city, do business there, and fly back on (he same day. A train, on the other hand, goes at a slower speed. It may take you more than a day to travel to a faraway place in the country. A problem with plane is that it is incapable of transporting large quantities of freight. In this respect the train is superior. The train can carry more goods than the plane and other modes of land transport.2. Do you prefer to fly business class or economy class?I prefer economy class. Thrift is considered a traditional virtue in Chinese society, and most people do not want to waste money on something that is not absolutely necessary. Some people want to fly business class, for they feel morecomfortable in a bigger seat with a better choice of foods and drinks. But I don't think the small benefits are worth the high costs. However, in some cases, for example, when traveling with an important business partner, I might want to buy business class, or even first class tickets to show my company's financial strength and give him/her confidence in doing business with us.3 Do you wish to be a flight attendant? Why or why not?First, flight attendants often have ample opportunities to fly to different parts of the country or even of the world. Through their service, flight attendants interact with many passengers. As a result, they tend to develop good interpersonal skills, which will prove to be valuable in the future, even after they transfer to a different job. Last but not least, flight attendants are usually well paid. But there are some disadvantages as well. An obvious drawback is that, often, they cannot go back home everyday. This irregular pattern of life makes it difficult for them to stay with their families. What's more, some passengers can be rude and unpleasant. The most undesirable aspect of their job, however, is the danger of accidents. All the advantages of a flying career disappear in a crash.4. Many airline companies are lowering fares andmaking smaller profits. Give some of the possible reasons.Airfare used to be quite high, so the aviation industry was highly profitable. The economic benefits drew more companies into the market, which in turn led to more intense competition. To survive in it, airlines have had to cut prices, which means smaller profits. In recent years, fuel has become increasingly expensive, and this has cut further into airline companies' profits. With higher salaries for employees, airlines now have only small profit margins.Unit 091. Name some Western and Chinese festivals, and special days that seem to be especially important, and explain why they are importantThere are a number of Western festivals, such as Christmas, Boxing Day, Thanksgiving Day, New Year's Day, New Year's Eve, Halloween, Valentine's Day, Mother's Day, and Father's Day. There are also a number of traditional festivals in China, such as the Spring Festival (or the Chinese New Year), the Lantern Festival the Pure Brightness Festival (or Qingming Festival or the Tomb-Visiting Festival), the Dragon Boat Festival, the Mid-Autumn Festival, the Double-Ninth Festival(or the Seniors'Day), etc. Some Western holidays such as Mother's Day, Father's Day and Valentine's Day are also becoming popular in China. In the West, Christmas is obviously the most important festival since it involves a long holiday, and almost all the people celebrate it. In fact, it has become quite popular in many non-Western countries. In China the Spring Festival is clearly the most important traditional holiday, which lasts three days or more and most Chinese both at home and abroad celebrate it.2. Do you mink it is necessary for the Chinese to celebrate Christmas?I think we Chinese should pay more attention to traditional Chinese festivals such as the Spring Festival, the Lantern Festival and the Mid-Autumn Festival. Observance of those traditional holidays increases cohesion of the entire nation. If those traditional holidays should disappear, it would be a loss to Chinese culture and to world civilization as well. On the other hand, Christmas is a season for people to be jolly. It is also an occasion for people to express love and other pleasant feelings. When family members get together for a huge dinner, they have a sense of warmth and closeness. When children receive gifts, they are excited, and their happiness is infectious. As the world has become smaller throughglobalization, Christmas has become more popular in many non-Western countries.3. Why is Valentine's Day more popular in China now compared to it was decades ago?Since love is one of the most fundamental emotions, it certainly deserves a holiday. In fact, love is an eternal theme in novels, dramas and poems. People need a holiday to express their emotions. When people exchange cards and gifts on Valentine's Day, they express their affection for others and feel happy. The holiday seems to be especially important to young men and women. Therefore, young Chinese people have good reason to celebrate Valentine's Day. As China is gradually integrating with the rest of the world, why can't we celebrate Valentine's Day? Unfortunately, the traditional Chinese Lover's Day, which falls on the seventh day of the seventh lunar month, is largely neglected now, despite the interesting story of the meeting between the legendary Cowherd and Girl Weaver. Why hasn't the tradition been revived and made popular among young people?4. It is sometimes claimed that many festivals have been created just to encourage people to spend money. Do you agree? It is true that business people are seeking every。

Unit One1.How do you understand " Love without limitations"?From this passage we can know there had never been any limitations to what Jimmy’s love could accomplish. I think the title “love without limitations” is the way we treat others. Love the people around us no matter whether they are healthy, clever or kind-hearted. In our lives, we often see some people treat the disabled people badly. This is a very shameful action. We should have a kind heart no matter what we are doing. Jimmy’s love teaches the people around him love without limitations.2.P eople’s attitude toward the disabledThere are a lot of disabled people in our world. And he can also help others. When our body is lack of iron, we will feel weak, tired, and out of breath. Most of the people think if we do exercise, we will be healthy. But we always ignore the element. Most of the people don’t take care of the iron. Tosome people, they should have a yearly blood test to check blood iron reserves. Don’t wait until our bodies lack iron.5.What do you know about the relation between exercise and health ?Discuss whatcontributes to good health? There is a direct correlation between physical exercise and overall health. If you get regular exercise and don't totally "junk out" regarding your diet, you will, in general, be healthier than someone who doesn't exercise. There is no medical practitioner or physiologist alive who will disagree with this idea. Not a single one. It is not necessary to become an athlete to improve your health, your quality of life, and your longevity.Exercise can help us keep healthy . More and more people in the modern life don’t have much time to do exercise . So people don’t have a healthy body . Most of us students always sit for a long time . We even need take exercise . But not all of the sports fit us very well . Some people like those Aerobic exercise(有氧运动). Some people like running , surfing and swimming . Doing exercise is good for our health .Exercise can Increase our body function and reduce fatigue .When we feel tired , we can do some exercise .Eating a balanced diet. If you don't think that you are getting enough vitamins try vitamin supplements and of course exercise around half an hour 5 times a week is good and if you eat a banana before doing exercise it helps with your metabolism so you burn off more calories!Keeping a good state of mind is also important for good health. Happy every day. 6.How do you understand "mind is body, and body is mind "?Exercise benefits both body and mind. Just as exercise strength the heart and lungs, bones and muscles, it can also power up the brain. Some scientists speculate the reduction in mental function often attribute to getting old may really be a penalty of neglecting to stay physical active.Mind is tightly associated with body. If we have a healthy body, we will be active in our mind ,we also can have energy to do what we want to do in our mind. Our parents are our example , with their encouragement, we will actively face learning difficulties, fighting over them at an early date. And parents will set a model for their children.Children tend to do their utmost when their parents making similar efforts. Parents involved in the child's education also can supervise their children to study, there are some students in the case of only oneself can't concentrate on learning, accompanied by the parents, children will be very good study. But before she died, she sent allher family members home because she didn't want them to see her die. Although we Chinese tend to associate it to infelicity, it’s cann’t be denied that everyone will inevitably end his life in a grave, however prominent and intelligent he is in life . These aphorisms exemplify the belief that man is born to die, and that life is merelya journey from womb to tomb, a natural process governed by an objective law thatno one can escape or flout. No matter what endeavors one might make, everyone succumbs to mortality within a certain time span. Nothing can be done other thanfollow the natural process from birth to death, just as grass sprouts in spring like the essence of youth and withers in autumn like the onset of old age.Apart from accepting the truth that we human being are not immortal, we should extend our deep grief to who have passed away then move on to the bright future instead of immersing ourselves in great mourning. Moreover we should do our best to make each day counts.Unit Six16.What do you know about advance signs or warnings of an earthquake?some behaviors of animals are good signs of earthquakes. From the perspective of the history of ma, school learning and his today's achievement is not necessarily linked, and is the key to his understanding, tact and to grasp the opportunity. Why or why not?I think that prenuptial agreements are bad ideas which is one of the reason leadingyour marriage failure. Because the family is based on trust. They must love each other if one couple decided to make a family. So they are ready to face difficulties.Even if there are some contradiction, they can deal with it together. This is love. And if one couple sign a premarital agreement before marriage, that indicate they don’t trust each other.23.A topic for debate; nothing can kill romance faster than a prenup.I firmly believed that everyone wants to have a romantic marriage. Signingprenuptial agreements means that you don’t believe your spouse, not to say romantic. From my point of view people should be banned from smoking in public places.Recently, the phenomenon of smoking is more and more universal\common.
