There will be some financial help available only for people who give considerable help in organizing the conference, e.g. giving a keynote lecture or a tutorial, organizing an invited session, etc.

Much to my regret, I shall not be able to honour the invitation because I have to attend and chair a very important meeting to be held in China at that time.

I feel sorry to miss the opportunity of meeting you and many other friends in the field of comparative literature.
