Slavery
Slavery was an established institution in the American economy, particularly in the South, but many people became convinced that it was an undesirable influence on society.

The Democratic-Republicans favored the middle class, and encouraged expansion of American settlements.

美国历史发展英文作文初中1. The Native Americans were the first inhabitants of what is now the United States. They lived off the land and had their own unique cultures and traditions. However, when European explorers arrived in the 15th century, theybrought diseases and violence that devastated the Native American populations. The Europeans also brought their own culture and ideas, which clashed with those of the Native Americans. This led to centuries of conflict and displacement of Native American communities.2. The American Revolution began in 1775, when the 13 British colonies in North America declared their independence from Great Britain. The colonists were upset with British taxation policies and lack of representationin Parliament. The war lasted for several years, but in 1783, the Treaty of Paris was signed, officially ending the war and recognizing the United States as a sovereign nation.3. The 19th century was a time of great change in theUnited States. The country expanded westward, with pioneers settling new territories and states being added to the Union. Slavery was also a major issue during this time, with many people in the North calling for its abolition. The Civil War broke out in 1861, with the North fighting to preserve the Union and end slavery, and the South fighting for states' rights and the preservation of slavery. The war ended in 1865 with the Union's victory and the abolition of slavery.4. The 20th century saw the United States become a global superpower. The country played a major role in both World War I and World War II, and emerged from the latter as the dominant economic and military power in the world. The Cold War with the Soviet Union dominated much of the second half of the century, with the United States and its allies working to contain the spread of communism. TheCivil Rights Movement also took place during this time, with African Americans fighting for equal rights and an end to segregation.5. Today, the United States is a diverse andmulticultural society, with people from all over the world living and working here. The country has faced many challenges throughout its history, but has always been able to overcome them through hard work and perseverance. The future of the United States is uncertain, but one thing is for sure: it will continue to be a major player on the world stage for years to come.。
