首先关于话题教学,话题Topic,简单地说,是指谈话的主题。
小学英语教学的话题教学一般围绕一个谈话的主题教授所要求学习的单词、短语、句子,紧紧围绕一个主题来串联。
这样学生对于所学的英语知识有一个完整的认识,尤其是在口语表达上更全面和流畅,也便于学生牢固记忆和灵活运用所学的英语知识。
话题教学的确是发展学生的综合语言运用能力的最有效的方式。
但在我刚接触的时候,我一直觉得对话题教学有点“排斥感”,认为在小学中,特别是在我们有些学校,英语还只算是技能科,学校家长学生不重视等等的局限下,平常课堂上采用话题教学是难度大了点,只能是公开课以及比赛时的展示,对真正的教学没有实际的用途。
但是听了这次课后,我还有一点很深刻感触,撇开学生基础这一点,教师必须对授课和效果负非常大的责任,一个好的教师的一节好课堂,是循循善诱,由浅及深,慢慢进展的一个过程,是教师对上课内容、对学生基础、对上课气氛的调控等一切细节的综合。
这是为什么同样的一个课题同样学校的学生,却出现不同的课堂,给人完全不同的感受。
老师的个人素质当然包括语音语调、调控能力、评价能力,也包括了教师个人的形象、动作、上课习惯用语、面部表情等细节。
我们很多老师都会采用greeting作为最开始的一个warm-up或者是课堂的切入点,我觉得就从你开口蹦出的第一个单词开始就给学生和在座的老师一个信息:你的个人素质如何。
好的语音和好的上课节奏真的给人一种好的享受,相信听课的老师都对这次比赛的黄环环老师留下深刻的印象,不仅语音漂亮,而且她的上课节奏张弛有度,没有为了引出某个单词或者是句子,花费很大的力气,而是非常轻松自然,这是比赛的老师非常少见的非常舒服的上课节奏。
那么除了一些经常谈论的语音语调外,语法也需要更细致更正确的运用,这也是我平时上课不太关注的地方,也存在一些很小的比如第三人称单数之类的表达错误。
接触话题教学之初我也上网查阅了一些有关内容,但对教学一直心存疑虑,因为是整合教学,上课之初,学生必须要有一定的语言的框架基础,否则话题教学那么大的输入量就不能有一个相符合的输出量。
但如果在复习所需知识的同时再加大新的输入量,那么课堂怎么分配时间才正确呢?而且听了一些话题课,学生的输出也非常好,也能很精彩的展示,但是课文并没有新的单词、短语或者句子,只是“炒冷饭”,这样是不是并不能显示出话题教学的初衷呢?那么这次的听课给了我有一个很好的解答。
首先话题教学一定是一个体现从“会”到“不会”的过程,就是说课堂必须要有从旧知引出新知的步骤,并且要将旧知和新知整合,在教师给予的情境中得到语言的训练。
那么教师最初必须提供学生一个相应的从单词到短语再到句子到小段落或对话的语言知识框架。
那么对现在有些教师对‘“实用教学”或者是“大输入量”的想法,沈雨老师提出了一点“应该采用适当的难度”,当然需要一定的难度,但在没有对学生了解的情况下,应该有所把握,而且要在语言的趣味和实用上找一个更好的平衡点。
而且最重要的沈雨老师提出了“语言思维训练”让我感同身受。
因为听语文课有个和英语课特别不同的感受是:学生在思维,在结合生活思维,在表达,在结合自己的想法表达。
所以语文课堂往往出现一些非常精彩非常有趣的孩子们的表达。
而我们英语课堂由于学生的语言局限,往往跟着老师的引领,做出限制范围的表演或者表达。
表演一个既定的只换一些词语或者词组的故事,表达一个Yes或No的想法。
那么是不是让学生有一个自己的思维表达呢?比赛在friends这个课题上,除了描述我的friends的外表如thin\tall,描述爱好likeplayingfootball等外,能不能让学生说说自己认为怎样的朋友是自己的goodfriend呢?再比如说food,有些老师有提到healthyfood和junkfood,给了学生思考划分,那么是不是可以不要做这样一定的划分让孩子来说说自己心中的分类呢?让孩子们有自己的表达呢?当然这是一个更细节的考虑,也许设计更生活化更恰当的情境更有帮助学生的思维训练。
还有关于评价的问题,我想所有的老师很我一样,都有这样的疑惑,有时候的great,good,welldone真的很没力量,而黑板上的格子或者是星星有时候也象是无用功,还有学生在达到怎么样的错误时我们应该纠正?沈雨老师提出,有时候过程评价更有价值,我想到语文或者数学课堂,老师关注学生,不匆忙上自己的既定内容,而是从学生的“小错误”接手,做一个连接,当然,这也需要一个老师的教育机智和能力。
沈雨老师最后和我们分析分享了刚得到省优质课一等奖李浩的教案,我很真切的感受到了细致的力量。
从教案就能看到丝丝如扣的设计和精细的教学理念的渗透。
我想我需要学习的东西实在太多了。
回来的车上我突然想到一个话题,关于26个英文字母。
因为对于学生来说很熟悉了,特别是按照顺序来说的时候,没有一个学生不会,但打乱顺序就难了,某字母前面是什么,后面是什么,常常让学生感到头痛.。
也许可以有个这样的话题。
我没有想得很详细,只是粗浅的有些想法:比如,让学生想象每个字母像什么并画出来,还可以用26个字母经过夸张、变形后搭成一个形状,让其他学生说说那里面有哪些字母;或者先放了一段奥运会运动员出场画面,提示学生注意看中国队是第几个出场的,为什么把中国排在第三?日本队呢?这时候学生就很感兴趣.学生发现了奥运会运动员的出场顺序是按照英文字母的顺序排列的.这样不仅让学生知道字母顺序在实际生活中的运用,还可以培养学生的文化意识。

小学英语共有十五个主要话题教学,笔者依据小学英语课程任务,结合自己的实际教学,并向经验的老师学习,总结出了小学英语话题教学中一些比较有趣的教学方法,供老师们借鉴。
1、colour话题教学教学COLOR的时候,用数学学具来制作英语学具,具体做法:先剪一小姑娘,头和胳膊涂色,裙子不用涂色,再用一张硬纸,剪出花瓣(根据所学颜色的多少而定剪的花瓣),并涂上不同的颜色,再用剪刀把花瓣剪成镂空花样,然后把小人的脚用圆钉钉在硬纸的圆心,让小人的头和和胳膊露在花瓣的外面。
这样随着小人的转动,小人的裙子就不断变化颜色。
学生看到老师的自己就可以做,这样的教学的时候,学生玩得有趣,学得自然也有趣。
2、clothes话题教学用一信封,里面装有所有有关服装的剪纸,剪纸用各种彩色纸来做(提前让学生剪出来,可以让家长帮助),再用白纸做一小人,这样能锻炼学生动手能力,同时让学生对将要学到的英文知识充满了期待。
用剪纸来学习服装单词,再用给小人穿衣服的游戏来向同学们介绍他穿的是什么衣服,更可以以小组为单位共享他们的剪纸,最后还可以让学生来个小组服装秀大展示,看哪一个小组说的好,服装搭配的美,评出最佳创意小组。
这样的教学不单单是学习英语,还能培养学生对服装的审美能力。
3、Weather话题教学讲天气的时候,天气单词和国际通用天气符号一起教学,这也是学科的渗透融合。
再用AmericanChristmas/AustraliaChristmas这两个国家的节日做比较来学习,还可以结合我们学过的服装话题,来谈:Ifyouaregoingtotravel,whatclotheswillyoutake,why?这就赋予了话题教学一个真实的意义,而且还有地理常识在里面,这又是一个学科的渗透融合,这比只讲It’swarm,It’scold要高明的多,也有意义的多。
4、body话题教学在教学完身体各部位以后,我再给学生读一小段<西游记>中关于monster的描写,让学生发挥想像来画一monster.再让学生用所学习的英语来描述他们创造出来的妖怪,用学生所创造出来的图画,还可以用于教学单词的单复数形式,同时我们还可以让学生评价他们所画的能不能和<西游记>动画片中的比美,以此培养学生的个性创造力和想象力。
