People always think their parents don’t understand them and refuse to talk to them, they show the worse temper in the ones who love them and will never leave them, but they show their kindest fact to the strangers. It is a sad thing, the reason that people show their badness to the dearest lies in that people just get used to the presentation of their relatives, they know in their hearts that their parents won’t leave them, no matter what they do. Our relatives will never leave us, they take care us all the time, they are the dearest persons in the world. People neglect it, so we should be nice to our parents, love them and communicate with them.

1Man Is Here For The Sake of Other Men 人是为了别人而活着Strange is our situation here upon earth. Each of us comes for a short visit, not knowing why, yet sometimes seeming to divine a purpose. From the standpoint of daily life, however, there is one thing we do know that man is here for the sake of other men above all for those upon whose smile and wellbeing our own happiness depends, and also for the countless unknown souls with whose fate we are connected by a bond of sympathy. Many times a day I realize how much my own outer and inner life is built upon the labors of my fellow men, both living and dead, and how earnestly I must exert myself in order to give in return as much as I have received. My peace of mind is often troubled by the depressing sense that I have borrowed too heavily from the work of other men.To ponder interminably over the reason for one’s own existence or the meaning of life in general seems to me, from an objective point of view, to be sheer folly. And yet everyone holds certain ideals by which he guides his aspiration and his judgment. The ideals which have always shone before me and filled me with the joy of living are goodness, beauty, and truth. To make a goal of comfort and happiness has never appealed to me; a system of ethics built on this basis would be sufficient only for a herd of cattle. 2There once were two poor woodsmen who made a living by collecting woods in the mountain. One day, they happened to discover two large bag of cotton in the mountain and felt surprisingly happy. The cotton was light but valuable, so they carried it on their back and went back home. When they were walking home, one of the woodsmen spotted a large bundle of cloth beside the road. So he discussed with his partner whether to discard the cotton and take the cloth instead. But his partner held a different view that since he had carried the cotton for such a long way, he would not change it with cloth because all his previous effort would turn out to be in vain. Therefore, the other woodsman abandoned thecotton and carried the cloth on his back. After walking for a while, the woodsman who carried the cloth spotted several jars of gold disseminated on the ground not far away. He felt so thrilled that he was going to be a wealthy man. So he gave up the cloth and used his carrying pole to carry two jars of gold, while his partner was still reluctant to abandon the cotton and wondering whether the gold was real or not. 3What I Have Lived ForThree passions, simple but overwhelmingly strong, have governed my life: the longing forlove, the search for knowledge, and unbearable pity for the suffering of mankind. Thesepassions, like great winds, have blown me hither and thither, in a wayward course, over a deepocean of anguish, reaching to the very verge of despair.I have sought love, first, because it brings ecstasyecstasy so great that I would often havesacrificed all the rest of my life for a few hours for this joy. I have sought it, next, because itrelieves lonelinessthat terrible loneliness in which one shivering consciousness looks overthe rim of the world into the cold unfathomable lifeless abyss. I have sought it, finally, becausein the union of love I have seen,in a mystic miniature, the prefiguring vision of the heaven thatsaints and poets have imagined. This is what I sought, and though it might seem too good forhuman life, this is whatat lastI have found. With equal passion I have sought knowledge. I have wished to understand the hearts of men.I have wished to know why the stars shine. And I have tried to apprehend the Pythagoreanpower by which number holds sway above the flux. A little of this, but not much, I haveachieved.Love and knowledge, so far as they were possible, led upward toward the heavens. But alwaysit brought me back to earth. Echoes of cries of pain reverberate in my heart. Children infamine, victims tortured by oppressors, helpless old people a hated burden to their sons, andthe whole world of loneliness, poverty, and pain make a mockery of what human life shouldbe.I long to alleviate the evil, but I cannot, and I too suffer. This has been my life. I have found it worth living, and would gladly live it again if the chancewere offered me. 4When love beckons to you, follow him, though his ways are hard and steep. And when hiswings enfold you, yield to him, though the sword hidden among his pinions may wound you.And whenhe speaks to you, believe in him, though his voice may shatter your dreams as thenorth wind lays waste the garden. For even as love crowns you so shall he crucify you. Even as he is for your growth so is he foryour pruning. Even as he ascends to your height and caresses your tenderest branches thatquiver in the sun, so shall he descend to our roots and shake them in their clinging to theearth. But if, in your fear, you would seek only love’s peace and love’s pleasure, then it is better foryou that you cover your nakedness and pass out of love’s threshingfloor, into the seasonless world where youshall laugh, but not all of your laughter, and weep, but not all of your tears. Love gives naughtbut it self and takes naught but from itself. Love possesses not, nor would it be possessed, forlove is sufficient unto love.Love has no other desire but to fulfill itself. But if you love and must have desires, let these beyour desires: To melt and be like a running brook that sings its melody to the night. To know the pain of too much tenderness. To be wounded by your own understanding of love; And to bleed willingly and joyfully. To wake at dawn with a winged heart and give thanks for another day of loving; To rest at the noon hour and meditate love’s ecstasy; To return home at eventide with gratitude; And then to sleep with a payer for the beloved in your heart and a song of praise upon yourlips. 5It is well that young men should begin at the beginning and occupy the most subordinate positions. Many of the leading businessmen of Pittsburgh had a serious responsibility thrust upon them at the very threshold of their career. They were introduced to the broom, and spent the first hours of their business lives sweeping out the office. I notice we have janitors and janitresses now in offices, and our young men unfortunately miss that salutary branch of business education. But if by chance the professional sweeper is absent any morning, the boy who has the genius of the future partner in him will not hesitate to try his hand at the broom. It does not hurt the newest comer to sweep out the office if necessary. I was one of those sweepers myself.Assuming that you have all obtained employment and are fairly started, my advice to you is “aim high”. I would no tgive a fig for the young man who does not already see himself the partner or the head of an important firm. Do not rest content for a moment in your thoughts as head clerk, or foreman, or general manager in any concern, no matter how extensive. Say to yo urself, “My place is at the top.” Be king in your dreams. And here is the prime condition of success, the great secret: concentrate your energy, thought, and capital exclusively upon the business in which you are engaged. Having begun in one line, resolve to fight it out on that line, to lead in it, adopt every improvement, have the best machinery, and know the most about it.The concerns which fail are those which have scattered their capital, which means that they have scattered their brains also. They have investments in this, or that, or the other, here there, and everywhere. “Don’t put all your eggs in one basket.” is all wrong. I tell you to “put all your eggs in one basket, and then watch that basket.” Look round you and take notice, men who do that not often fail. It is easy to watch and carry the one basket. It is trying to carry too many baskets that breaks most eggs in this country. He who carries three baskets must put one on his head, which is apt to tumble and trip him up. One fault of the American businessman is lack ofconcentration. To summarize what I have said: aim for the highest; never enter a bar room; do not touch liquor, or if at all only at meals; never speculate; never indorse beyond your surplus cash fund; make t he firm’s interest yours; break orders always to save owners; concentrate; put all your eggs in one basket, and watch that basket; expenditure always within revenue; lastly, be not impatient, for as Emerson says, “no one can cheat you out of ultimate succe ss but yourselves.”。

1We Must Face FailureAs we all know, “Failure is the mother of success.” But few people can really understand what the saying means. In the world, I am sure that no one dare say he hasn't met any trouble all his life.So we must face failure. In fact, failure is not fearful, but important thing is how to face it correctly.Facing failure, people will never take their fate lying down. They will try their best to work harder and harder until at last they succeed. Not being courageous to face setbacks, people have no chance to enjoy the pleasure of success. So they have nothing to do but feel sad and empty all day and all night. In fact, they lose the chance of success themselves. My friend, whenever in trouble, please remember, "Failure is the mother of success.人生哲理的英文短文2——The Prologue to Bertrand Russell's AutobiographyThree passions, simple but overwhelmingly strong, have governed my life: the longing for love, the search for knowledge, and unbearable pity for the suffering of mankind. These passions, like great winds, have blown me hither and thither, in a wayward course, over a great ocean of anguish, reaching to the very verge of despair.I have sought love, first, because it brings ecstasy-ecstasy so great that I would often have sacrificed all the rest of life for a few hours of this joy.I have sought it, next, because it relieves loneliness--that terrible loneliness in which one shivering consciousness looks over the rim of the world into the coldunfathomable lifeless abyss.I have sought it finally, because in the union of love I have seen, in a mystic miniature, the prefiguring vision of the heaven that saints and poets have imagined. This is what I sought, and though it might seem too good for human life, this is what--at last--I have found. With equal passion I have sought knowledge.I have wished to understand the hearts of men.I have wished to know why the stars shine. And I have tried to apprehend the Pythagorean power by which number holds sway above the flux.A little of this, but not much, I have achieved.Love and knowledge, so far as they were possible, led upward toward the heavens. But always pity brought me back to earth.Echoes of cries of pain reverberate in my heart.Children in famine, victims tortured by oppressors, helpless old people a burden to their sons, and the whole world of loneliness, poverty, and pain make a mockery of what human life should be.I long to alleviate this evil, but I cannot, and I too suffer. This has been my life.I have found it worth living, and would gladly live it again if the chance were offered me.人生哲理的英文短文3Whether sixty or sixteen, there is in every human being’s heart the lure of wonders, the unfailing childlike appetite of what’s next and the joy of the game of living. In the center of your heart and my heart there is a wireless station: so long as it receives messages of beauty, hope, cheer, courage and power from men and from the infinite, so long are you young. An individual human existence should be like a river—small at first, narrowly contained within its banks, and rushing passionately past boulders and over waterfalls.Gradually the river grows wider, the banks recede, the waters flow more quietly, and in the end, without any visible break, they become merged in the sea, and painlessly lose their individual being.Youth means atemperamental predominance of courage over timidity, of the appetite for adventure over the love of ease. This often exists in a man of sixty more than a boy of twenty.Nobody grows old merely by a number of years. We grow old by deserting our ideals.Years may wrinkle the skin, but to give up enthusiasm wrinkles the soul.Worry, fear, self-distrust bows the heart and turns the spirit back to dust.第二篇:有关人生哲理的短文导读:人生的脚步不要走得太快,生活的美好不是追求终点的辉煌,而是路上一直伴你前行的风景。

所以,当女儿生病时,他像疯了一般竭尽全力想让她恢复健康。
His best efforts, however, proved unavailing and the child died. The father became a bitter recluse, shutting himself away from his many friends and refusing every activity that might restore his poise and bring him back to his normal self. But one night he had a dream.

It is a great truth because once we truly understand and accept it, Thenlife is no longer difficult.
Most do not fully see this truth. Instead they complain about theirproblem and difficulties as if life should be easy. It seems to them that difficulties represent a special kind of suffering especially forced upon them or else upon their families, their class, or even their nation.
What makes life difficult is that the process of facing and solving problems is a painful one. Problems, depending duanwenw on their nature ,cause in us sadness or loneliness or regret or anger or fear. These are un- comfortable feelings, often as painful as any kind of physical pain. And since life causes an endless series of problems, life is always difficult and isfull of pain as well as joy.

Life is like a big swing, dangling between the depths of happiness and sadness. As soon as we descend down the slope of sadness, we accelerate over the ever-feel-good acclivity of happiness. At times of distress, when we are down we slip over an abyss of emotional trauma and frustrations. One who can rise above the occasion, is the architect of many wins over sorrows. To come above tougher times you have to pep yourself up, when you are feeling low, lost and confused. This can be done effectively by self-talk. Self-talk is a way of talking to oneself. It can be effectively used for soul searching. When talking to ourselves, we hardly lie as our conscience controls our speech. Self talk is efficient because when we are vocal about our thoughts, it makes a larger impact on our mind. Our brain then receives the same message from the mind as well as the ears. This repetition pep talks and thoughts fine tunes the performance of brain.Self-talk is a software, which when properly loaded onto our mind directs ourselves for better results and a healthy mind. Actually many times in our life, we find others advising us to do better in studies, sports, life etc. We usually get bugged by these people and blank our ears out of their constructive suggestions. It is because it doesn't come from within us. And when something comes from within you, you always try your best to do justice to it. Self-talk can thus ameliorate our status. Each one of us has some good points and some bad ones.Though we hardly admit in pubic, we know in our mind thatwe could do better in some areas of our personal landscape. This get better attitude can be converted into a practical reality using self-talk.If you are an introvert and you want to be the gregarious person like you friend next door, all you need to do is talk to yourself. Tell yourself with all the sincerity and emotions that "I can be like him. I am a natural born speaker. I do like people and speaking comes naturally to me. I just have to be ready to listen and speak". Suppose you love a person and want to tell him or her, then just say to yourselves "I love her with all my heart. She is the only one and I know it. If I don't let her know, it would be grave injustice on my part.Every person loves to be loved. Even she will". These are just some examples I have explained. It's up to you to program your own mantra. If you are highly optimistic to do better, there is no better motivator than self-talk. So guys start talking. Very much ,ever since you were brought into this world. when you coulden't open your mouth till the first two years on planet earth, inner voice is the one through which you interpreted and understood things.Inner voice is the voice mouth of the subconscious mind .the subconscious mind is always acting as a secondary reflector of thoughts and ideas in the body. It justifies and rationalizes what is right and what is wrong. When we go aganist what the inner voice say we get a guilty conscious and are bothered by it throughout our lives. At times when we are feeling low or those unforgettable moments when we are let down, we seem to need some kind of emotional or mental support. We usually speak to our closest palor our dearest family member during times of distress to ease the burden .At such times we get over the initial drizzle of emotional anxiety and mental restlessness, because of the pepping up by our empathic listener. we suddenly feel rejuvenated because our inner voice alerts us to get on with things and leave the things of past on the memory books of our brain. The inner voice is always right most of the times because it knows us better than others and probably even ourselves. It is the dare devil child of the intuitions which we have been having since childhood. It's good to go by intuitions most of the tims because its the response provided due to the synchronism between our mental and physical being.Whenever you are trying your first cigarette, or whenever you are asked to take sides in an argument, you are always in a sense of dilemma. During these times your inner voice automatically gives its verdict, which when over written, might leave us unhappy in the future. It's up to us to either ignore the morale booster inside us or go out to the world and search for spiritual guru's and happiness, when all these things are very much present within us. My father was a self-taught mandolin player. He was one of the best string instrument players in our town. He could not read music, but if he heard a tune a few times, he could play it. When he was younger, he was a member of a small country music band. They would play at local dances and on a few occasions would play for the local radio station. He often told us how he had auditioned and earned a position in a band that featured Patsy Cline as their lead singer. He told the family that after he was hired he never went back. Dad was a very religious man. Hestated that there was a lot of drinking and cursing the day of his audition and he did not want to be around that type of environment.Occasionally, Dad would get out his mandolin and play for the family. We three children: Trisha, Monte and I, George Jr., would often sing along. Songs such as the Tennessee Waltz, Harbor Lights and around Christmas time, the well-known rendition of Silver Bells. "Silver Bells, Silver Bells, its Christmas time in the city" would ring throughout the house. One of Dad's favorite hymns was "The Old Rugged Cross". We learned the words to the hymn when we were very young, and would sing it with Dad when he would play and sing. Another song that was often shared in our house was a song that accompanied the Walt Disney series: Davey Crockett. Dad only had to hear the song twice before he learned it well enough to play it. "Davey, Davey Crockett, King of the Wild Frontier" was a favorite song for the family. He knew we enjoyed the song and the program and would often get out the mandolin after the program was over. I could never get over how he could play the songs so well after only hearing them a few times. I loved to sing, but I never learned how to play the mandolin. This is something I regret to this day.Dad loved to play the mandolin for his family he knew we enjoyed singing, and hearing him play. He was like that. If he could give pleasure to others, he would, especially his family. He was always there, sacrificing his time and efforts to see that his family had enough in their life. I had to mature into a man and have children of my own before I realized how much he had sacrificed.I joined the United States Air Force in January of 1962. Whenever I would come home on leave, I would ask Dad to playthe mandolin. Nobody played the mandolin like my father. He could touch your soul with the tones that came out of that old mandolin. He seemed to shine when he was playing. You could see his pride in his ability to play so well for his family. When Dad was younger, he worked for his father on the farm. His father was a farmer and sharecropped a farm for the man who owned the property. In 1950, our family moved from the farm. Dad had gained employment at the local limestone quarry. When the quarry closed in August of 1957, he had to seek other employment. He worked for Owens Yacht Company in Dundalk, Maryland and for Todd Steel in Point of Rocks, Maryland. While working at Todd Steel, he was involved in an accident. His job was to roll angle iron onto a conveyor so that the welders farther up the production line would have it to complete their job. On this particular day Dad got the third index finger of his left hand mashed between two pieces of steel. The doctor who operated on the finger could not save it, and Dad ended up having the tip of the finger amputated. He didn't lose enough of the finger where it would stop him picking up anything, but it did impact his ability to play the mandolin. After the accident, Dad was reluctant to play the mandolin. He felt that he could not play as well as he had before the accident. When I came home on leave and asked him to play he would make excuses for why he couldn't play. Eventually, we would wear him down and he would say "Okay, but remember, I can't hold down on the strings the way I used to" or "Since the accident to this finger I can't play as good". For the family it didn't make any difference that Dad couldn't play as well. We were just glad that he would play. When he played the old mandolin it would carry us back to a cheerful, happier time in our lives."Davey, Davey Crockett, King of the Wild Frontier", would again be heard in the little town of Bakerton, West Virginia. In August of 1993 my father was diagnosed with inoperable lung cancer. He chose not to receive chemotherapy treatments so that he could live out the rest of his life in dignity. About a week before his death, we asked Dad if he would play the mandolin for us. He made excuses but said "okay". He knew it would probably be the last time he would play for us. He tuned up the old mandolin and played a few notes. When I looked around, there was not a dry eye in the family. We saw before us a quiet humble man with an inner strength that comes from knowing God, and living with him in one's life. Dad would never play the mandolin for us again. We felt at the time that he wouldn't have enough strength to play, and that makes the memory of that day even stronger. Dad was doing something he had done all his life, giving. As sick as he was, he was still pleasing others. Dad sure could play that Mandolin!※本文作者:※。

Life is an unpredictable journey that takes us through a series of experiences, some good, and some bad. Through it all, there are certain philosophies that can help us navigate these experiences and find meaning in our lives. One of the most important philosophies is to live in the present moment. The past is gone, and the future is uncertain, so it is essential to focus on the present moment. One should cherish the moments he or she has and make the most of the opportunities that come his or her way. Living in the present moment provides a platform to make decisions with a clear mind and a calm heart.Another important philosophy is to embrace change. Change is inevitable in life, and it can be uncomfortable and challenging. However, adapting to change is essential for growth and development. To embrace change, one needs to have an open mindset, let go of the past, and look ahead to the opportunities that change can bring. Change allows one to become stronger and more resilient, which can help them tackle challenges in the future.A third philosophy is to be grateful for what we have. It is all too easy to focus on what we lack in life and forget about the blessings and opportunities that we have been given. Life is precious, despite its ups and downs, and it is important to appreciate it. Being thankful for what we have builds a positive outlook towards life and leads to contentment and happiness.Lastly, it is important to pursue one's passions in life. Life is too short to live without passion, and it is crucial to identify what one is passionate about and pursue it. It takes courage and determination to follow one's dreams, but the end of the result can be fulfilling and rewarding. Pursuing one's passions offers a sense of purpose, a direction, and a focus to our lives.life can be more meaningful if we embrace certain philosophies that can help us navigate through experiences. Living in the present, embracing change, being grateful for what we have, and pursuing our passions offer guidance and direction, and help us achieve a fulfilling and meaningful life. Life is a journey that is filled with twists and turns, successes and failures, joy and sadness. Itis through these experiences that we learn valuable life lessons and develop our life philosophy. One of the most important life philosophies is that success is not a destination; it is a journey. Success is achieved through hard work, perseverance, and dedication. It is not something that happens overnight but rather a result of consistent effort and determination.Another important philosophy is that failure is not the end; it is an opportunity to learn and grow. When we fail, we have the chance to reflect on our mistakes and make changes to improve ourselves. Failure teaches us important lessons that we can apply to future endeavors. We should also live in the present and appreciate the moment. Life is not a race; it is an experience. We should take the time to enjoy the present and appreciate the people and things that we have in our lives. When we focus too much on the future, we miss out on the present.Another important philosophy is that we should all be kind to one another. Kindness can make a significant impact on someone's life. It can bring joy and happiness and create a positive atmosphere. Small acts of kindness can make a big difference in someone's life and make the world a better place.Lastly, we should always be open to change and willing to learn. Life is about growth and development. We should always strive to improve ourselves and embrace new experiences. By being open to change, we give ourselves the opportunity to learn and grow, which is essential for a successful and fulfilling life.In conclusion, life is a journey that teaches us valuable lessons and helps us develop our life philosophy. By embracing hard work, perseverance, and dedication, learning from failure, appreciating the present, practicing kindness, and being open to change, we can create a fulfilling and successful life. In our fast-paced world, it's easy to get caught up in the stress of everyday life and our endless to-do lists. Often, we find ourselves looking to the future and worrying about what will come next. However, it's essential to take a step back and appreciate the present moment.Living in the moment means being fully present and engaged in what we're doing right now. It's about savoring the experiences we're having and not constantly looking ahead to the next task or event. When we live in the moment, we're more aware of our surroundings, and we can enjoy life to the fullest.Living in the moment also helps to reduce stress and anxiety. When we're constantly worrying about the future, we're not present in the moment, and we're not fully able to enjoy what we're doing now. This can lead to feelings of overwhelming stress and anxiety, causing us to miss out on the joys of life.besides, living in the moment helps us to build better relationships. By being fully present with the people we're with, we're better able to connect with them and create meaningful interactions. When we're always distracted and not fully engaged, it can be difficult to build strong relationships.Living in the moment also helps us to appreciate the small things in life. By paying attention to the details, we're able to see the beauty in our surroundings and appreciate the things we might otherwise overlook. It helps to reduce stress and anxiety, build better relationships, and appreciate the small things in life. 1When we were kids, we had no idea of what limitations were and we had no care in the world so we could do things without worrying about how we appeared to others. However, as we grew up, we lost that childlike innocence. So dont lose the child that still lives within you. The next time you feel down, go turn on your favorite song, and sing and dance along like there is no tomorrow. Or watch something that makes you laugh. Laughter is the best medicine to whatever ails you and nothing is better than laughing so hard that your tummy hurts. Trust me, you will feel a whole lot better, and who doesnt want to feel good? 2There once was a master who went to india. in those times, we didnt have the communications or airplanes or many kinds of transportation that we do now. so the master went to india on foot. he had never been to india before; perhaps he came from persia. and when he got there, he saw a lot of fruit. in india they have plenty of fruit to sell, but much of it isexpensive because they cant grow much due to the water situation. so he saw one basket, a big basket of some very red, long fruit. and it was the cheapest in the shop, not expensive at all.So he went up and asked, "how much per kilo?" and the shopkeeper said, "two rupees." two rupees in india is nothing; its like dirt. so he bought a whole kilogram of the fruit and started eating it. but after he ate some of it: oh, my god! his eyes watered, his mouth watered and burned, his eyes were burning, his head was burning and his face became red. as he coughed and choked and gasped for breath, he jumped up and down, saying, "ah! ah! ah!"But he still continued to eat the fruit! some people who were looking at him shook their heads and said, "youre crazy, man. those are chilies! you cant eat so many; theyre not good for you! people use them as a condiment, but only a little bit to put into food for taste. you cant just eat them by the handful like that; theyre not fruit!" so the stupid master said, "no, i cant stop! i paid money for them, and now ill eat them. its my money!" 3We all, at one time or another, have pretended to be a rock star, singing and dancing along to our favorite song. Most of us have done this in the privacy of our own room when we were kids and as adults, in the privacy of our homes. Me? I love to do that when I drive! I turn on the radio, find a song that I can sing along too and pretty soon my arms are in the air and I am moving along to the rhythm. Most of the time, I do this on my way to work.Yes, that is true. I will be in my nice work clothes, jamming while driving or stopped at a traffic light. I get weird looks from some people and others laugh. Personally, I love to get lost in the rhythm of a song which leads me to share with you the importance of being silly! The definition for the word silly, according to the dictionary is: stupid, foolish and nonsensical. I know many people do not want to look foolish. So they walk around all serious, which in all honesty, is foolish! No one is perfect, I repeat: no one is perfect. I dont care how educated, how thin, how beautiful, how simple, how frugal, how rich, and so on…No one is perfect! So why pretend to be something you are not? 4Silencesilence is soundlessness; silence exists in different forms.an empty head or a blank mind which leads to speechlessness--that is silence.enthusiasm fades like dying embers and thus leads to cynicism and indifference to life, which arouses neither happiness nor sadness, neither worries nor anger, and which costs people their interest in and desire for anything--that is silence.despite all the experiences of love and hate, of disorientation and reorientation, of order-giving that was answered by hundreds andcall-issuing that was not answered by a single soul, there is not a word uttered, but only a clam eye that watches on this world--that is also silence.worries and sufferings, tastes of changes and vicissitudes of the world, footprints left in mountains and valleys and noises of rivers and oceans cherished in the heart are all but hidden unrevealed--that is still silence.either an invaluable italian violin or a reed whistle cut out casually would remain silent if they are not played, although the connotations of their silences differ greatly. for even though they are never touched by anybody, you can still imagine the vastly different sounds they can possibly produce.a flawless jade ornament, or a coarse, gross brick will always remain silent if it is left untouched, but who can draw an equal sign between them?indeed, for a living being there is no such thing as true silence, for silence itself is a revelation of the mind and the heart, an echo of the soul of a different form.some people use silence as a disguise of the emptiness of the head.some use it as a means to depict their disorientation and melancholy.and some use it as a way of expressing their angers and sorrows. 5there was once a lonely girl who longed so much for love. one day while she was walking in the woods she found two starving songbirds. she took them home and put them in a small cage. she cared them with love and the birds grew strong. every morning they greeted her with a wonderful song. the girl felt great love for the birds.one day the girl left the door to the cage open. the larger and stronger of the two birds flew from the cage. the girl was so frightened that he would fly away. as he flew close, she grasped him wildly. her heart felt glad at her success in capturing him. suddenly she felt the bird go limp. she opened her hand and stared in horror at the dead bird. her desperate love had killed him.she noticed the other bird moving back and forth on the edge of the cage. she could feel his great need for freedom. he needed to soar into the clear, blue sky. she lifted him from the cage and tossed him softly into the air. the bird circled once, twice, three times.。

If the Dream Is Big Enough志当存高远A school was across the street from our home and I would often watch the kids from my window as they played basketball. One day, among the children a girl attracted me. She seemed so small as she muscled her way through the crowd of boys. Running circles around the other kids, she managed to shoot jump shots just over their heads and into the net with on one to stop her. Sometimes, I saw her play alone. She would practice dribbling and shooting over and over again, until dark.
One day I asked her why she practiced so much. Without hesitation, she said, "I want to go to college. The only way I can go is if I get a scholarship. If I were good enough, I would get a scholarship. I like basketball. My Daddy told me if the dream is big enough, the facts don't count." Then she smiled and ran towards the court to go on practice.

If we plant a good seed, we reap a good harvest. If our seed is poor and full of weeds, we reap a useless crop. If we plant nothing at all, we harvest nothing at all.I want the future to be better than the past. I don’t want it contaminated by the mistakes and errors with which history is filled. We should all be concerned about the future because that is where we will spend the reminder of our lives. The past is gone and static. Nothing we can do will change it. The future is before us and dynamic. Everything we do will effect it.Each day will brings with it new frontiers, in our homes and in our businesses, if we will only recognize them. We are just at the beginning of the progress in every field of human endeavor.

He came to the apples, and he was glad to take them out of the dust and eat them.Do not throw good things away; you may be glad to have them at some other time. The first time I ran, like really ran, was during middle school gym class. It took me 11 minutes and 47 seconds to finish a mile. I've been running ever since.
Running is the kind of thing where you put in the time and expect to see results, and let me be the first to tell you: It is supremely discouraging when you don't. It's discouraging when you run a five-mile race with your entire family and e in a solid 15 minutes behind everyone else, and it's discouraging when that time is no faster or slower than your five-mile time five years ago.
And yet, my alarm is already set for 6 a.m. tomorrow, even though it's probably going to be rainy and definitely going to be cold and even though most of the time, I really hate running.
Don't ask me why. All I know is this: As much as I hate running, I love being a runner.
There's some kind of camaraderie between people who spend more money each year on running shoes than on all their other shoes bined, and there's some fundamental similarity between people who can cross 10 miles without pausing.
On days that I run, I exert myself purely for exertion's sake. If you run too, you get why.
When you're a runner, your people are the girls with hair elastics on their wrists and the boys with shorts shorter than yours. They might be better, faster or stronger than you, but you belong with them.
It took me almost 10 years of plodding along at an11-minute mile before I realized that I could call myself a runner, no matter how slow I go or how many races I lose.
I've laced up my shoes at least once a week since the first day I stepped foot on a track in middle school. Some weeks it's every day, some weeks it's not. Some days, I'll barely go more than a mile, and some days, I'll walk more than I jog. I may not have medals, but I have fresh air, time alone, and creaky knees and tight quads.
For me, that's enough. I run, so I am a runner.
