Many people like sunshine (阳光) a lot. 1 . They think rain makes them feel sad. For a long vacation, they like going to the beach to enjoy sunshine. 2 . I like sunshine very much, but I also enjoy rain.3 . It can make me feel quiet. On rainy days, I like listening to music and doing some reading, or just looking at the rain and daydreaming I think it’s a good way to relax when it rains.5 . I hope you can feel happy no matter (无论) it rains or it’s sunny.B1 . Being angry doesn’t really solve much, but what people do when they feel angry is important. The goal is to calm down and try to solve what is bothering you. This is hard for some kids and adults, too. Instead of calming down, some kids might keep getting more and more upset until they explode like a volcano!2 Their anger might be so strong that they lose control of their temper. They may act in ways unacceptable and hurtful. People may say that someone has trouble controlling their temper.3 Some kids might get so angry that they scream at their parents, break something, or even worse, hit their brothers and sisters.4 However, it’s not OK for a kid to do any of those things. Kidsdon’t want to act in this way, but sometimes angry feelings can be hard to manage. So what to do? Well, the good news is that kids don’t just have to keep making the same mistakes over and over again. 5 .Imagine your temper as a puppy inside you that needs some training. The puppy is not bad-it will probably turn out a great dog. It just needs to learn some rules because, right now, that puppy is causing some problems to you.CAmericans’ WeekendsWhat do American families usually do on weekends? 1 . They can go to the park, the zoo, the cinema and many other places they want to go.4 . Sometimes they help their parents do some work at home and their parents will take them to therestaurant to have a good dinner. 5 .DWe have twenty minutes’ rest (休息) between classes. 1 . Some students are on the playground. They are playing basketball. Oh! A boy is running with the ball. And another is trying (尽力) to stop him. They look so cool. 2 . 2019年中考英语:阅读理解训练题(8)附答案第一篇(2019中考科普环保类选练)Satellites are an important part of our ordinary lives. For example, the information for weather forecasts is sent by satellite. Some satellites have cameras which take photographs of the Earth to show how clouds are moving. Satellites are also used to connect our international phone calls.Computer connections of the World Wide Web and Internet also use satellites. Many of our TV programs come to US through satellites. Airplane pilots also sometimes use a satellite to help them find their exact location. We use satellites to send television pictures from one part of the world to another. They are usually 35,880 kilometers above the equator. Sometimes we can see a satellite in the sky and it seems to stay in the same place. This is because it is moving around the world at 11,000 kilometers an hour—exactly the same speed that the earth rotates.A satellite must orbit the Earth with its antennae facing the earth. Sometimes, it moves away from its orbit,So there are little rockets on it which are used to put the satellite back in the right position. This usually happens about every five or six days.Space is not empty! Every week, more and more satellites are sent into space to orbit the Earth. A satellite usually works for about 10-12 years. Satellites which are broken are sometimes repaired by astronauts or sometimes brought back to Earth to be repaired. Often, very old or broken satellites are left in space to orbit the Earth for a very long time. If a friend of yours asks you to have lunch with him, you may say something like this,“I’m afraid it’ll have to be someplace cheap, as I have very little money." I want to take you to lunch at Smith’s," or“I want you to try the Chinese dumplings there. They’re great." This means the person wants to pay for both of you. If you feel friendly towards this person, you can go with him and you needn’t pay for the meal. You may just say,“Thank you. Scientists believe that it may be the largest dinosaur ever known. But don't be afraid: they were plant-caters.This kind of dinosaur, which is not yet named, probably once reached 131 feet in length and 80 tons in weight. "It's as long as two trucks and heavier than 14 African elephants together in weight," Carballido said.Carballido and his team found seven huge dinosaurs among more than 200 fossils in the province of Chubut, Argentina. A local farmworker let the museum know about the fossil-filled area in 2011.Eating MachinesHow did these dinosaurs get so big? To find out, scientists like Martin Sander, at Bonn University in Germany, have studied the dinosaurs' fossils and some animals. These animals and the dinosaurs have similar features(特征). This kind of dinosaur could cat leaves quickly without stopping to chew on them. Not chewing also influenced the dinosaur's shape. Its head could stay small and light because it didn't need to chew. The mountains are not very high. In China you would probably call them hills rather than mountains as they are less than 1, 000 meters high, but there is something wild about these mountains you get a feeling of space and freedom. You can walk for miles without meeting another person.Northumberland is full of history. There are seven castles, some of them were ruined and the others still there as they were centuries ago. You can find graves going back to prehistoric(史前的,times and strange carvings on rocks which nobody understands. The coast line is dramatic too, with beautiful sandy beaches. These beaches are rarely crowded because the weather is unpredictable and the North Sea is very cold! People don’t go for seaside holidays to Northumberland because of the cold sea and weather, so even in high season there aren’t many tourists. There is an island called Holy Island off the coast of Northunberland, you can get to the island by car or on foot when the tide is out. There is also one castle I particularly like. It is a 14th century castle which stands on a cliff right by the sea. The castle is almost completely ruined, but it looks dramatic and romantic because you can still see the gate and two of its owners. On a summer’s day you can lie on the beach nearby and let your mind wander as you look at this dream-like castle. On a winter’s d ay you can walk to the castle and watch the waves crash into the cliff, wondering how this castle has stood so long against the forces of nature.I once said to a friend of mine that I thought this castle by the sea was the most beautiful place in the world. She laughed and said there must be many more dramatic places in the world. In one way, I’m sure she’s right, but for me, it’s not just about what a place looks like, it’s about what it says to you.63.In China people probably call them mountains which are________ 1,000 meters high.A.less thanB.nearlyC.more thanD.almost70. How are the seven castles in Northumberland?A. They are modern and fantastic.B. They are all complete and magnificentC. Some hasn’t changed at all for centuries.D. It looks very dramatic and romantic with two towers but no gate.C. The author can let his mind wander as he looks at this dream-like castle.D.

如Adela、Manchester、NATO。
在处理好这些部分外,还要注意文段中表示转折的句子,其标志词常常是but,while,however,in spite of this等。
According to the passage, which of the following statements is not true?

Are you remembering its name, its shape, its color or its size? Are you remembering what it is used for, or the sound it makes when the teacher writes on the blackboard? Scientists say that memory includes different parts of the brain, such as language and the ability of sense. They believe that you begin to create a memory when you notice something with your senses. Then messages are sent to different brain cells, which join together to form connections. A new connection goes into your short-term memory. Itis stored there for about 30 seconds, and then it is either lost or stored in your long-term memory.Having a good memory means making lots of connections and storing them in yourlong-term memory. To do this, you need to keep your brain in good shape. Eat plenty of brain food such as fish oil, fruit and vegetables. Laughter also makes your brain more active. Also, don't forget to exercise. So do some sports or just move around a lot in the house. Finally, get plenty of sleep. This will make your memories grow stronger. When you want to remember new information, you must pay special attention. Use your senses—sight, smell, hearing and touch—and keep repeating the information. To do well in your exams this year, turn off the TV, silence your mobile, and review your work regularly. To remember something special, use your imagination to create visual (视觉的) connections. For example, you need to take a pencil, an eraser, your ID card and chips to your next exam. Imagine the ID card as the body of an animal, the pencil its long neck, and the eraser its head. Your animal is hungry, so now imagine it eating a bag of chips. It may sound crazy, but it's fun and it works. Another way is to do something different to your room.
