【Directions】For this part, you are allowed 30 minutes to write an essay on why students should be encouraged to develop the ability to meet challenges. You should write at least 150 words but no more than 200 words.【参考范文】In an ever-changing world, people are bound to face various challenges. However, challenges mean not only difficulties, but also opportunities. From my perspective, considering that there are many possibilities in our future, we should not be afraid of challenges and encourage students to develop the ability to meet challenges. There are several factors accounting for my view. In the first place, challenges can cultivate our personality. It is inevitable that we will encounter difficulties and problems. At critical times, one’s positive attitude towards challenges plays a crucial role in turning hardship into good results. In addition, it is challenges that can inspire our potential. Whatever situation we are faced with, people who have the ability of dealing with difficulties have a greater chance of success. Individuals may achieve temporary success by good luck, but only after we go through the adversity on our own can we have the solid foundation of success. From what I have discussed above, we may safely draw the conclusionthat challenges may have positive effects on our life. The earlier we are aware of the optimistic side that challenges provide, the more benefits we will get.

2020年6月英语六级考试写作预测题(含范文)1.Directions: For this part, you are allowed 30 minutes to write an essay entitled Man and Computer by commenting on the saying, The real danger is not that the computer will begin to think like man, but that man will begin to think like the computer." You should write at least 150 words but no more than 200 words. With the rapid development and wide spread of computers, the whole world has changed greatly. Computers seem to be so dominant in daily life that they have become indispensable in our lives. Many people even have the worry that "The real danger is not that the computer will begin to think like man, but that man will begin to think like the computer."There is indeed some truth in the worry. For one thing, people tend to spend too much time on computers, which leads to the terrible result that people ①have no time interacting with others in real life. If this continues,②the gap between people will be wider and wider. For another, people, including children, become too③reliant on computers to solve problem in lives. They will have the false idea that computers may help them deal with any problem in lives. Thus it is hard to develop their abilities to live independently. In spite of the negative impacts of computers, there is no need to worry too much. Human beings arc intelligent and creative, and will no doubt make greater efforts to find better solutions to the problems.2.Directions: For this part, you are allowed 30 minutes to write an essay commenting on the remark "Good habits result from resisting temptation." Y ou can cite examples to illustrate your point. You should write at least 150 words but no more than 200 words.Good Habits Result From Resisting TemptationNowadays, the world is filled with all kinds of temptations fascinating computer games that appeal especially to the young people, round-the-clock TV shows, luxurious designer clothes, etc. These kinds of entertainment and goods have enormously facilitated and enriched our lives, yet they also pose overwhelming distractions for us to develop good habits as "Good habits result from resisting temptation."To form good habits, one needs a strong will and perseverance to resist temptation. The process of forming a good habit is also the course of overcoming temptation. The examples are as follows. The good habit of reading requires removing one’s strained eyes from the websites and focusing on one’s book constantly. The good habit of exercising means repeatedly dragging oneself away from the cozy couch and soap operas. And keeping a healthy diet demands saying "NO" to the junk food. Only when one succeeds in resisting temptation can he gain a good habit. As Oscar Wilde once mocked, "I can resist everything except temptation." It is never easy to resist temptation so as to form good habits. However, good habits, once formed, will pay off in a lifetime.3.Directions: For this part, you are allowed 30 minutes to write a short essay entitled On Village Officials. You should write at least 150 words but no more than 200 words followingthe outline given below :1. 很多大学生选择到基层当村官2. 人们对此观点各异3. 我的看法On Village OfficialsIt is reported that, facing the fierce competition in the job market, one in seventeen college graduates choose to work as village officials in rural areas. On this issue, peopl e’s attitudes differ sharply. Some hold positive opinions. For one thing, they believe college graduates, with wide knowledge, open mind and active thinking, will greatly contribute to the rural development, thereby narrowing the gap between the city and the countryside. For another, they argue the graduates will benefit a lot by finding themselves a wider stage of self-fulfillment, in contrast with their big-city peers fighting for a handful of positions. However, many are worried since these graduates lack experience and know little about rural life and management. One thing worth noting is that their professional knowledge does not accord with the rural reality and they don’t possess the practical technology that rural residents urgently need. As a result, their competence and qualification for the job are doubted. As far as I am concerned, this choice can be a win-win one as long as graduates learn to be modest, listen to the voices of local people, and pour their energy and enthusiasm into the job devotedly.4.Directions: For this part, you are allowed 30 minutes to write an essay commenting on the remark "A smile is the shortest distance between two people." You can cite examples to illustrate your point. You should write at least 150 words but no more than 200 words.Smile Bridges the Gap Among PeopleThe saying "A smile is the shortest distance between two people" has been widely accepted throughout the world. However, the high pressures in modern society make the relationship among people more and more distant. In my opinion, smile is a powerful antidote to this phenomenon, which can not only bridge the gap but also break down the barriers among people. When you present a smile to others, you will earn friendship as well as fortune. Such examples might be given easily. American celebrated "hotel king" Hilton’s requirement to its staff is whatever happens to the hotel, the smile on Hilton staff’s faces is the hotel’s sunshine. Smile helped Hilton come through the difficulties; moreover, it brought huge profits.Have you smiled today? If not, let’s smile together! It is deeply-rooted in nay mind that the world will be more harmonious if we always wear a smile on our faces.5.Directions: For this part, you are allowed 30 minutes to write an essay on happiness by referring to the saying "Happiness is not the absence of problems, but the ability to deal with them." You can cite examples to illustrate your point and then explain how you can develop your ability to deal with problems and be happy. You should write at least 150 words but no more than 200 words. The Way to HappinessWhen it comes to the topic of happiness, everybody has his own interpretation. An inspiring idea goes that happiness is not the absence of problems, but the ability to deal with them, which reveals the nature of happiness. Happiness will be achieved only if we are courageous enough to confront problems and develop the ability to solve them. There is no denying that we will encounter many problems in our life, but that doesn’t mean we are deprived of happiness. Many great people have set examples for us: Nelson Mandela was sentenced to 27 years in prison, but he kept being optimistic and finally achieved his goal of overthrowing the system of racial segregation. Steve Jobs was abandoned by his biological parents and dropped out of university but still managed to become a legendary entrepreneur. Admittedly, our life will be full of a variety of problems, but we may achieve happiness through striving and developing the ability to deal with them. Therefore, it is of great necessity to equip ourselves with the ability to cope with problems. To be more specific, we need to be cooperative, persistent and decisive, and have a positive attitude toward problems. Only when we are proficient in dealing with problems can we fully enjoy happiness and live a happy life.6. Directions: For this part, you are allowed 80 minutes to write an essay about the impact of the information explosion by referring to the saying "A wealth of information creates a poverty of attention. You can give examples to illustrate your point and then explain what you can do to avoid being distracted by irrelevant information. You should write at least 150 words but no more than 200 words. On Information ExplosionAs the popular saying goes, "A wealth of information creates a poverty of attention." Nowadays we are in an era of information explosion. More and more people complain that they are lost in the information age.Admittedly, the new information age has brought us so much convenience that we are allowed to get plenty of information just with a simple click sitting in front of the computers. Nevertheless, we are also confused, annoyed, distracted and upset by an incredibly large quantity of information. For example, when searching for something online, people can be easily misguided by irrelevant information and forget their original plans. Besides, some information often turns out to be useless. Therefore, it may be time-consuming and troublesome to search information online. Then what can we do to avoid being distracted by irrelevant information? Here are some useful tips: Firstly, make a list of what you really want before your searching. You can avoid some appealing yet irrelevant information in this way. Secondly, find some credible and professional sources or websites and then save and categorize them. In this way, you can easily leave some advertisements and useless information behind.7.Directions: For this part, you are allowed 30 minutes to write an essay commenting on the remark "The greatest use of life is to spend it for something that will outlast it." You can give examples to illustrate your point and then explain what you will do to make your life moremeaningful. You should write at least 150 words but no more than 200 words. How to Live a Meaningful Life?【1】Among all the highlighted topics, one is "how to live a meaningful life". As to this topic, opinions vary. 【2】As the saying goes, "The greatest use of life is to spend it for something that will outlast it." 【3】I cannot agree with it more.If one spends all his life pursuing benefits for himself, he will surely feel fruitless and meaningless when he gets old. 【4】From Nelson Mandela’s life, we can get that he never wavered in his devotion to democracy, equality and learning. He has been an inspiration to people in South Africa and throughout the world. For a life which symbolizes the triumph of human spirit, Nelson Mandela was awarded the 1993 Nobel Peace Prize. His life, though limited, definitely lasts longer. That’s a life worth living.【5】Therefore, if there is a way to make my life more meaningful, I believe it should be to find something I’m interested in a nd also is helpful to others or the whole society. 【6】Only in this way can I keep my passion throughout my life.8.Directions: For this part, you are allowed 30 minutes to write an essay explaining why it is unwise to jump to conclusions upon seeing or hearing something. You can give examples to illustrate your point. You should write at least 150 words but no more than 200 words.Looking Before Leaping! As the proverb goes, "Look before you leap." Living in the information age full of changes, we should definitely not jump to conclusions upon seeing or hearing something. Confronted with various kinds of information, modern people tend to trust whatever they have heard or read. However, we should know that information cannot be trusted until it is checked. It is evident that some information is so misleading that we should not believe it. For instance, several years ago, due to the nuclear pollution in Japan, a host of Chinese, especially middle-aged people and the seniors, rushed to buy salt, firmly believing salt could prevent radiation, which was very ridiculous. Also, although it is generally accepted that a picture is worth 1 000words, some pictures cannot be trusted in this day and age, for photoshop has prevailed all around the world. In conclusion, it is imperative for us to form correct attitudes towards the information we see or hear. Instead of drawing conclusions in a hurry, we should raise our awareness of judging right from wrong. I firmly believe a better future is awaiting us if we make each and every decision upon deep thinking.9.Directions: For this part, you are allowed 30 minutes to write an essay entitled Shortage of Fresh Water by commenting on the saying, "Do not let our tears be the last drop of water on the Earth. " You should write at least 150 words but no more than 200 words.Shortage of Fresh WaterThe saying "Do not let our tear be the last drop of water on our earth" has become a catch phrase nowadays and it is a well-known fact that there is a shortage of fresh water on our planet. In some areas of the world, fighting for fresh water has led to serious conflicts between different nations. This testifies to the fact that the scarcity of fresh water has turned to be a serious global problem. Scarce as it is, there are still people who waste the fresh water that is vital for the very existence ofthe human beings. With the rapid development of the economy and the explosion of the population, fresh water has been consumed at a much faster pace. Meanwhile, water pollution has been an increasing concern for many of us. Then is there a way out?As far as I’m concerned, the government should give priority to the protection of our water resources. At the same time, we need to step up our efforts to research and develop technologies to recycle waste water and convert sea water into drinkable fresh water. Only through combination of all efforts can we deal with the problem well. Some noticeable changes have taken place in people’s diet in China in recent years. The proportion of grain, which is the staple food for many Chinese people, has decreased significantly, while the proportion of milk and meats has been increasing considerably. Many factors contribute to the changes in the diet. First of all, with the rapid development of the economy, Chinese people are now more affluent and they enjoy a higher standard of living. As a result, they can afford to buy more milk and meats. This perhaps is the major reason for the changes in the diet. Secondly, the easy availability of milk and meats on the market is another factor. The abundant supply of meats and milk makes possible these changes in people’s diet. The changes in people’s diet, however, cause some concern. Health experts believe that it is good to add some meats and milk to people’s diet, for meats provide protein, and milk calcium, both of which are indispensable for people’s health. However, too much of them may also pose a serious health problem: overweight. Experts remind us to bear in mind that proper proportion of different food groups is of vital importance for one’s health, so the best policy is to strike a balance in one’s diet.。

You should write at least 150 words but no more than 200 words. The famous saying “The greatest use of life is to spend it for something that will outlast it” is rather thought-provoking, which tells us the real meaning of life. It is contemporary social issue in China with common interests and permanent value. In my view, there are good reasons to undertake meaningful things that exert positive and profound influence on the society, such as protecting the environment, helping vulnerable groups as well as promoting education. To illustrate, Abraham Lincoln never wavered in his devotion to democracy and equality, whose life has become an inspiration in the United States and throughout the whole world. His life, though limited, definitely lasts longer, and is a life worth living. Likewise, a young person who aspires to be a great writer might decide to buy some literary books or spend weekends writing and refining his works. Without any aspiration, he mightsimply end up spending all his spare time surfing online or playing Internet games. In brief, a meaningful life serves to motivate and guide us in our daily lives. It provides us with the focus and direction that enable us to work towards accomplishing a special goal, objective or task.

写作(卷三)Directions: For this part, you are allowed 30 minutes to write an essay on the saying Wealth of the mind is the only true wealth. You should write at least 150 words but no more than 200 words.范文:In this rapidly developing society, what we persue has never been more abundant than ever before. We care about the food safety, the health of the people around us, the appearance of us and the money we can earn. Talking about wealth, ideas may differ from person to person. Among all the elements of wealth that modern people attach importance to, I reckon that wealth of the mind is the only true wealth.Looking around, we may find many facts which can reflect the value in the saying. Take Lihong as an example, she is not the traditionally typical youngster who would be considered wealthy. However, she keeps reading books routinely and insists in attending a variety of lectures. When mentioned, Lihong is always the exemplary model praised by everybody. To many acquaintances of hers, they think she is one of the most knowledge able and thoughtful girls they’ve ever met. In the case of Lihong, wealth of the mind is more essentially valued than the money she possesses. To conclude, it is not the money we earn but wealth of our mind that determines how people see us. This reminds us again of the value that wealth of the mind is the only true wealth.

Nowadays a fashionable street scene is the buying and selling of lottery tickets. People crowd around either in front of big buildings or at street corners, purchasing coupons of various kinds, such as those of social welfare, sports industry and football games.Investigations made among those "lottery citizens" show that they do it for different purposes. Some say that they play the game just for fun, others insist that they want to sponsor athletic development, still some others simply decide to try their luck. However, I believe the aim behind the game, if fully exposed, is to make easy money, as it is said the prize winner can get millions of yuan in an instant, which is obviously great temptation. In my mind, lottery is much the same as gambling in nature and it certainly brings more negative effects than positive effects, if any.First, the overwhelming majority, being misled byearning-quick-buck mentality, are impatient and impulsive to put their time and money into wrong investment.Secondly, not a few people, being indulged in lottery, lose not only initiative for work but also interest in life.Thirdly, some individuals, having gambled away all their money, may commit crimes.fourthly, young people, particularly students (even pupils) may step by step become addicted to lottery andfinally leave their studies. I think the cliche "reaping what one sows" is still applicable today and "sowing" takes time and hard work to have instant reaping is definitely one's wishful thinking.Last of all, since gambling and lottery both mean risking money on luck, why the former is forbidden by law and the latter is so much encouraged?。

(1)Recently in many cities, such as Shanghai, Nanjing and Wuhan, passengers are not allowed to eat or drink on subway trains, and violators shall be fined. Should food and drinks be permitted on subway trains? The debate has been raging in China for a long time. The government and passengers show different attitudes. Read carefully the opinions from both sides and write your response in about 200 words, in which you should first summarize briefly the opinions from both sides and give your view on the issue.Marks will be awarded for content relevance, content sufficiency, organization and language quality. Failure to follow the above instructions may result in a loss of marks.范文:Should Passengers Eat and Drink on Subway Trains? In recent years, eating and drinking on subway trains have been found more and more common, which has triggered many problems. Thus, in some cities passengers are forbidden to do that and violators will be fined. There has been a raging debate over the new regulation. Some believe that eating and drinking don’t threat the safety of the subway operation and are not against any law and regulation. Others want to curb the bad behavior so as to make the public environment clean and tidy.As far as I am concerned, eating and drinking on subway trains are indeed not proper behavior, but it is also not reasonable to deprive citizens of that right. On the one hand, eating and drinking on the subway trains should be discouraged. The government should attach more importance to educating citizens and appeal for cultivated andeco-friendly behavior on public transportation. Announcements and posters could be used to encourage people to create a better environment. On the other hand, it is every citizen’s legal right to eat and no onecan deprive them of that. With regard to the pregnant, the elderly, the sick and the weak, the government can allocate them special room to eat and drink. In conclusion, the behavior of eating and drinking on subway trains should be discouraged, but the right of people should be protected2020年6月大学英语六级写作试题(2)Many students today use electronic dictionaries instead of printed dictionaries. Some people say that this is a good thing while others disagree. What is one major advantage or disadvantage of electronic dictionaries?范文:One Major Advantage of Electronic Dictionaries Electronic dictionaries are becoming more and more popular among students nowadays. As a result, they may eventually render printed dictionaries obsolete! Undeniably electronic dictionaries contain a number of merits in comparison to their printed counterparts and therefore, I would like to suggest one major advantage of electronic dictionaries.Perhaps the most pronounced advantage of electronic dictionaries is that all of them are portable and consequently easy to carry around, whether in a pocket or a bag. Students can put the dictionary in their pocket and look up new words whenever and wherever they are. This is a huge advantage over the traditional large paper bound dictionary because size really does matter. This compactness means not only that electronic dictionaries are getting smaller and lighter as well as incorporating a bigger memory but also that dictionaries can be installed into other small portable devices such as mobile phones. Although smaller in some people'sview means less availability of memory and other functions, with the increasing advances made in nanotechnology this is no longer the cases. In the final analysis, electronic dictionaries are the by-product of the inexorable progress of computerization, miniaturization and nanotechnology which has meant that one of their biggest advantages is their small size while still enjoying all the benefits of earlier, larger models. What is one major advantage or disadvantage of hunting for jobs on the Internet?范文:The Internet Makes Job Hunting More Efficient The rapid development of the Internet gives rise to the phenomenon of applying for jobs online. It is commonplace to submit one's resume and recommendation letters via the Internet and a large number of graduates are employed via online tests. I would like to focus on one major advantage which is that job hunting becomes more efficient when it is done online. One of the pronounced advantages of online job hunting is that it is more efficient since potential candidates do not have to travel to other cities where the job is. The rise of online interviews provides even more convenience both for the employees and the employers. Furthermore, graduates can get access to considerably more information online since there are a number of websites dedicated to job hunting. The Internet has rendered the whole process more effective and efficient. Graduates can select several categories and narrow down their options. In a way, theInternet serves as a gigantic database and matches graduates with their potential employers. However, it is undeniable that an online interview can only reflect some aspects of a candidate. I believe that in order to gauge a person's potential and aptitude face-to-face interview is imperative. In conclusion, the efficiency and effectiveness of the Internet for job seekers is a huge advantage which is reflected in the growing number of positions available online.(226 words)。

On Students' Interpersonal Relationship
On Students' Interpersonal Relationship
Positive interpersonal relationships are vital for optimal humsit growth and development. However, in recent years, educators have expressed their concern about the ability of interpersonal relationship among students in institutions of higher education. According to a survey conducted by Hebei University, many college-age students regard interpersonal relationship as the biggest headache. Increasing diversity and rapid changes m our society make interacting with others more and more complex and difficult. With 1 united life experiences and social skills, college students face more challenges in dealing with interpersonal relationship. This is especially true for students coming from rural areas. Because of the lack of social skills, they are often rejected by others _ and rejection gives them even fewer chances to leam how to interact with others.
In my opinion, now that interpersonal relationship is important to students* devclopmentj colleges should offer courses about comprehensive interpersonal relationships. The course should address the knowledge, skills, attitudes and
behaviors involved in participating in positive relationships in the family and with individuals at school, m the conununity and in the workplace.。
