It's really tough because the passages are full of fancy words I don't know and the questions are very tree-key.My mom and dad got me lots of practice books to help me get ready for the reading part. We go through a practice passageevery night after dinner. First I read it out loud, then my parents ask me the questions and I have to answer them. If I get them wrong, we go back and re-read the important sentences slowly. It's pretty boring to be honest, but my parents say it's super duper important that I do well on this section.Another big part of the test is the riting section, where you have to write one long essay. The test graders are very picky and look for good speling, puncuation, and grammer. You also have to use lots of fancy 10 vocabulary words that most 8-year-olds don't even know. The essays have to be written in only 30 minutes too, which is not much time at all!For riting practice, every week my dad gives me a random topic like "What are the advantages and disadvantages of smartphone technology?" or "How has music influenced modern culture?". Then I have to write a five paragraph essay with an introduction, three body paragraphs, and a conclusion, all in 30 minutes just like the real test. My mom puts a timer on and everything! After I'm done, they mark up my paper with a red pen and show me all my spelling, grammar, and vocabulary mistakes. It's not very fun, but they say I'm getting a lot bedder at it.There are also listening sections where people talk about boring topix and you have to answer comprehension questions. My least favorite part is the speaking section where you get 60 seconds to give a speeech about a random topic into a microphone and try to sound as fancy as possible.
