Life Is Full of Choices生活里充满了选择Michael is no run-of-the-mill kind of guy. He is always happy and always has something positive to say. At work, when someone would ask him how he was doing, he would reply, “If I were any better, I‟d be twins!”
”the situation lest they‟d continue feeling down. He was like a ray of sunshine, a prince among men. O ne day, I went up to Michael and asked him, “I don‟t get it. Y ou can‟t be positive all the time. How do you do it?”
一天,我走到迈克尔跟前,问他:“我不明白,你不能总是那么积极乐观吧,你是怎么做的呢?”Michael replied, "Each morning I wake up and say to myself, 'Mike, you have two choices today. Y ou can choose to be in a good mood or you can choose to be in a bad mood.' I choose to be in a good mood. Each time something bad happens, I can choose to be a victim or choose to see it as a type of learning. I choose to learn from it, to see it almost as a victory."

Unit 3 SecurityText AYears ago in America, it was customary for families to leave their doors unlocked, day and night. In this essay, Greene regrets that people can no longer trust each other and have to resort to elaborate security systems to protect themselves and their possessions.
The Land of the LockBob Greene锁之国1 In the house where I grew up, it was our custom to leave thefront door on the latch at night. I don't know if that was a local term or if it is universal; "on the latch" meant the door was closed but not locked. None of us carried keys; the last one in for the evening would close up, and that was it.
2 Those days are over. In rural areas as well as in cities, doors do not stay unlocked, even for part of an evening.

朋友和亲人常宣称 They've just ate。
实际上,他们应该说 They've just eaten。

People hate being put on hold, althoughmost of them do understand that it is sometimesinevitable. If you need to place a caller on hold for any reason, firstly tell them why and ask themif they object to being placed on hold. If they agree it is OK, and you find that you're still goingto be delayed in getting them the information they need or being put through to the right personbecause they’re busy, you should go back to the caller every minute or so, explain that you’re stilltrying to put them through to "X" or get the information they need and ask them if they wouldstill like to be put back on hold. And, you should repeat this every minute until either you canresolve the situation or they decide to try again another time.

Unit Three Knowledge and Knowledge TransferText A知识彩虹克雷格·拉塞尔我这辈子四分之三以上的时间(50年中有39年)是在纽约的中小学或大学里度过的,不是在上学,就是在教学。
