Oh, and remember - always stay cool, confident, and have fun with it!Let's make this the most epic English speech contest our school has ever seen. See you there!Your bilingual friend,Jackson篇3An Exciting English Speech Contest is Coming!Hi everyone! This is Alex from the 5th grade student council.I have some super exciting news to share with all of you!Our student council has been working really hard to plan a special event for the whole school. After lots of discussions and planning meetings, we've decided to organize...drumroll please...an English Speech Contest!I can hear some of you groaning already. "A speech contest? In English? No way!" But trust me, this is going to be so much fun. Just hear me out!First off, why are we doing an English speech contest? Well, as you all know, being able to speak English is a really important skill these days. It's the global language that connects people all around the world. By working on our English speaking abilities now, we'll have a huge advantage later in life for things like jobs, travel, making new friends from other countries, and so much more. But more importantly, this speech contest will allow all of us to build our confidence and public speaking skills in a supportive environment. I know speaking in front of a crowd can be scary at first. My hands get all sweaty and my heart races like I just ran a marathon! But with practice and encouragement from our friends and teachers, we can all become much more comfortable and capable speakers.Just imagine how proud you'll feel after giving an awesome speech in English in front of the whole school. That's a memory you'll never forget! And who knows, you might even discover you're a natural-born public speaker. Maybe this contest will set you on a path to become a famous motivational speaker, actor, politician or teacher when you grow up. The possibilities are endless when you believe in yourself. Now let me tell you a bit more about how this exciting contest is going to work:The contest will be open to all grades from 1st through 6th. There will be separate categories and judging for lower grades (1st-3rd) and upper grades (4th-6th) to make sure it's fair for everyone. You'll get to choose the topic for your speech, as long as it's appropriate for school. You can pick something you're really passionate about, like your favorite sport, video game, book series, type of music, or anything else that interests you. Or you can choose an important issue you care about, like protecting the environment, stopping bullying, or celebrating different cultures. The best speeches come from the heart!Once you've picked your topic, you'll need to write out your speech ahead of time. Don't worry, your teachers will provide guidance and let you work on your speeches during class. They'll make sure you stay within the 3-5 minute time limit too. No one wants to listen to someone ramble on forever! You'll have a few weeks to practice delivering your speech out loud. Be sure to practice introducing yourself, speaking slowly and clearly, making eye contact with the audience, using hand gestures for emphasis, and ending with a big smile. Your family and friends can help you do practice run-throughs at home too. When it's finally contest time, you'll get to perform your speech on the big stage in the auditorium! Can't you just picture yourself up there already? The whole school will be in the audience, cheering you on. Doesn't that sound exciting? There will be a panel of judges made up of teachers and some special guest judges (maybe a local TV news anchor or the mayor!). They'll score each speech based on criteria like content, organization, delivery, grammar, vocabulary and overall effectiveness. Then they'll choose winners from each grade level to receive awesome prizes! What kinds of prizes, you ask? Well, that's still a secret for now. But you can be sure the student council is cooking up some incredible prizes that will make all your friends jealous. We're talking things like tablets, gaming consoles, cases of your favorite snacks, bicycles, toys, books and more! But even if you don't win one of the big prizes, you'll still get a cool certificate just for participating. And hey, getting up on stage and giving an English speech in front of hundreds of people is already a huge prize in courage! We should all feel proud. So there you have it - all the details on our super exciting, first-ever English Speech Contest! I hope I've convinced you to give it a shot. Don't let those nerves hold you back. Just picture how amazing you'll feel after conquering that stage like a public speaking hero.Over the next few weeks, teachers will be providing more information and signing students up. Start thinking about your speech topic right away! You'll need to put in some hard work practicing and preparing, but it will be so worth it. Trust me, this is going to be an unforgettable experience.Speak confidently, speak proudly, speak English! Let's make this speech contest one for the history books. I can't wait to hear what amazing speeches you all come up with. See you on that stage soon!Your student council president,Alex。

Here are some great reasons to enter:Improve your English fluency and confidence! The more practice you get speaking English in front of others, the better you'll become over time.Develop important life skills. Here are some tips for preparing an awesome speech:Choose a topic you genuinely care about and know a lot about. It could be anything from your favorite sport or hobby to an important issue in the world you want to discuss.Create an outline to organize your main ideas into an introduction, body paragraphs, and conclusion. The body should have 2-4 main points with supporting details for each.Write out your speech word-for-word, then practice delivering it out loud over and over until you have it mostly memorized.Work on strong skills like varying your tone, making eye contact with the audience, using hand gestures naturally, and speaking slowly and clearly.Time yourself repeatedly to make sure it fits within the 2-5 minute window. Shorten or lengthen as needed.Do mock practice runs in front of family members or friends and ask for feedback on what to improve.Doesn't this all sound so exciting?! That's right, an English speech contest is being organized and it's going to be epic! I don't know about you, but I'm super pumped. Public speaking can be pretty nerve-wracking, but this is our chance to show off those English skills we've been honing.Let me fill you in on all the juicy details. The contest is scheduled for next month and the theme is "Inspiring Change." Our wonderful English teachers helped come up with that perfect prompt. I don't know about you, but when I hear those two words together, my mind starts racing with all the positive transformations we could discuss - in our school, our community, and the wider world. The contest will be open to all students from grades 9 through 12. I think that's so cool because it gives us a chance to hear diverse perspectives across different ages and grade levels. The younger students will likely have such a fresh outlook, while the seniors might tap into their wisdom and life experience so far.Now for the best part - the prizes! Thanks to some generous donors, there will be some truly awesome prizes up for grabs. The 1st place winner gets a snazzy new laptop to help them keep leveling up those English skills. 2nd place gets a sweet 250 cash prize. Not too shabby! And 3rd place still gets 100 cash, which could go a long way for things like books, games, concert tickets, you name it. But of course, the real prize is the chance to gain more experience and confidence in public speaking.I have to say, our student council really went all out planning this whole shindig. They've been meeting weekly to sort out all the nitty-gritty details like the judging criteria, the schedule for the day, and more. From what I've heard, the judging panel will include some of our English teachers as well as respected community members. So you know they'll be looking for strong English skills, creative ideas, and a poised, polished delivery.Just picturing myself up on that stage has my heart racing already! But I keep reminding myself that being a good public speaker is such a valuable life skill. It could open doors when it comes to job interviews, presenting research, or anytime youneed to compellingly communicate your ideas. With so much on the line, I know I'll be spending lots of time prepping and rehearsing my speech. If you're as pumped as I am about this opportunity, here's what you need to do: there's a super simple registration form on the school website that you'll need to fill out by the deadline in two weeks. Make sure you clearly indicate which grade you're in. Maybe someone will share a powerful personal story that shows how perseverance and passion can spark transformation. Or maybe we'll hear creative ideas for innovative projects or initiatives that could make our school or community even better. Perhaps some of you have big dreams of how to change the world through activism, advocacy, scientific breakthroughs, or pushing the boundaries of human knowledge. Whatever angle you take, I know I'll be on the edge of my seat, soaking in every word.Honestly, I'm just in awe of our student council for putting together such an incredible opportunity. It's a chance to pushourselves as speakers and critical thinkers. An opportunity to let our authentic voices be heard on a topic that really matters. And a way to bond with our fellow students as we channel our creativity and passion for positive change. The way I see it, we've got absolutely nothing to lose and every reason in the world to participate. Let's show the world - or at least our school and community - what incredible speakers and idea-generators we can be! This contest is a big, bold, shining stage for us to truly inspire change through the power of our words and ideas. So what are you waiting for? Take a deep breath, gather your courage, and register for this life-changing opportunity. Your speech just might be the spark that ignites real positive transformation. Let's make our student council, our teachers, and our whole community proud by stepping up and embracing this public speaking challenge with open arms. This will undoubtedly be an unforgettable experience that stretches our skills and boosts our confidence.
