It’s a great honor to be here to attend this interview. My name is Li Jun. I am 22 years old. I come from…. I’m studying at …University, majoring in English. I’ll graduate this July.
First, please allow me to talk about my university life experience. My university is located in…The reason why I chose to study there is that it is my hometown and it is newly-built and promising city. Just like other classmates in my class, I was worried about my future during the early days at my University. But before long, I was dedicated to my study and practice. During my university life, I have joined some associations and the students union; I have also joined and organized some social and school activities. However, my after-class activities didn’t interfere with my study. Apart from learning knowledge about my major, I also have tried to develop other interests, such as reading magazines, listening to music and playing basketball etc. I have also tried to improve my overall quality and all-round competence. Although I cannot describe my university life by using the word “wonderful”, I think it is worth recalling and valuable to my future.
Then, I will talk about the reason why I chose to pursue further study and my plan for near future. Pursuing further study is necessary for me because I expect to make my dream come true.
There are several reasons for me to choose to study International Relations. One reason is that I became interested in it after reading some books about it. Another one is that I have some advantages to learn it well. Because I am an English major and English is a tool to know other countries. I want to learn from a famous International Relations theorist Hayward Alker. He uniquely used mathematical principles to research the system, and the configuration of International Relations because he had received math education. As for me, I can make use of my knowledge about English to help me to study International Relations. In a word, if I have an opportunity to pursue further study at your university, I will work harder, and learn from you.
