同时还提到了他与Nelson Mandela的一段交往,从侧面向学生展示Nelson Mandela的高贵品质。

教材设计的目的是在训练学生阅读技能的基础上,让他们认识到南非黑人争取自由和平等权利而付出的艰辛努力。

文章的主题有利于培养学生坚强的意志,树立正确的人生观与世界观。

二.Analysis of the textbook 教材分析教材借穷苦的黑人工人伊莱雅斯之口,叙述发生在他身边的纳尔逊曼德拉的故事,时间是从1952年到1963年。

伊莱雅斯初遇曼德拉时还是一个年仅12岁的黑人少年,正处于人生的一个非常困难时期。

当时曼德拉开办了专为黑人服务的侓师事务所,帮助黑人解决问题。

伊莱雅斯正是在曼德拉的帮助下获得了在约翰内斯堡工作的合法权利,在曼德拉的教育下,伊莱雅斯开始体会到人生的快乐和希望。

曼德拉亲切和蔼的态度、宽容博大的襟怀让他深深感到,永生难忘。

因此,伊莱雅斯第一时间加入了曼德拉领导的非洲人国民大会青年联盟,聆听曼德拉的演讲,积极参加他组织的反政府活动,为争取获得与白人平等的权利而斗争。

这样的写法有别于惯常所采用的平铺直叙,虽然只反映出曼德拉的一个侧面,但读起来却更加亲切感人,引人入胜,还留给了学生更多的思考空间。

在本单元的Warming up &pre-reading部分,学生通过图片了解了一个伟人应具备怎样的品质。

为熟悉本课的内容作了铺垫。

虽然学生对一些伟人已经有一点的背景知识,但是对Nelson Mandela 并非完全了解。

本节课的目的是让学生通过阅读,从语言材料中获取相关信息,并通过对信息的加工和处理,提高他们的语言运用能力。

人教修订版高一英语上Unit 7 Cultural RelicsReading 教案A city of heroes一、教学课型:阅读课A city of Heroes 是一篇围绕本单元的中心话题Cultural Relics (文化遗产) 展开的描写性文章,主要介绍了俄罗斯的英雄城市及文化名城------ St Petersburg (圣彼得堡)。

文章以时间为主要线索叙述了圣彼得堡的建立、被毁、重建的整个历史, 向大家展示圣彼得堡漂亮的广场、丰富的文化遗产,以及圣彼得堡的人民为保护文化遗产、保护历史名城所作出的巨大贡献,笔者通过本课教学培养学生分析和阅读理解此类文章的能力,丰富学生有关这个话题的语言,同时也让学生从一个文化名城的历史中体验人类文明发展的进程,提高学生保护文物的意识,学习圣彼得堡人民团结、勇敢、坚强、自豪的精神。

二、教材分析1、教材处理本单元分为热身 (Warming up )、听力(Listening)、口语(Speaking)、阅读(Reading)、语言学习(Language Study)和综合技能(Integrating skills)六部分。

本节阅读课前,笔者已将Warmingup 、Listening、Speaking 三部分整合为一节课的教学内容,主要进行了听说的训练。

热身运动中的埃及金字塔、长城、巨石阵已让学生进入了一个文化遗产的氛围;听力部分三个虚拟的文化遗产已使学生有了文物保护的意识;口语部分文化舱( cultural capsule)的设计已让学生的思维得以一定的发展;第一课时完后所补置的Homework ------ 上网搜索世界文化遗产也让学生对于这个话题有了更深地了解,同时也为本课阅读做下文化背景的铺垫。

本节阅读课由Pre-reading,Reading,Post-Reading三部分组成,笔者根据本班学生的认知特点和实际情况,将Pre-reading和Post-reading进行了调整和补充,删掉了Pre-reading 中的2、3 题,而将第1 题调整到Post-reading 中;将Post-reading 中第1 题的4 个问题用于阅读中的细节归纳,第2 题的正误判断保留,同时在阅读后补充了发散性思维的两个讨论话题: (1) In your opinion, what makes a city famous? We talk about heroes all the time but no one seems to agree on what makes a hero. OThne definition of a hero is someone with courage, nobility and strength. But who are considered examples of heroes?
Wars are full of heroes: people who are put in dangerous circumstances and make difficult decisions. These are not just the decisions of soldiers who are fighting but also people who help those who are being attacked. For example, during World War II, many people risked their lives to hide Jewish people hunted by Nazi soldiers. These people are heroes.
