你公司昨天收到卖方寄来的合同一式两份。在仔细审阅

合同条款后，发现包装条款表述不清楚。为避免今后可能

出现麻烦，遂去信表明你方包装要求：涡轮机(whirling

machine) 必须用木箱装，每箱装一台，十箱装一集装箱。

包装外面把公司的字头CACS刷在一个菱型里面，在此

下面刷上目的港和买方公司的订单号码。此外，还要标明

警告性标记，如“请勿倒置”，“防水防潮”等字样。

根据上文，写出该信。

Dear Mr. Lee,

We have received the captioned contract in two copies yesterday. After going through it, we regret to say that the packing clauses in the contract are not clear enough.

To avoid possible problems in future, we make our packing requirements (clear) as follows:

The whirling machines should be packed in wooden cases each, 10 cases in/to a container.

On the outer packing please mark our initials CACS in a diamond, under which the port of destination and our order number should be stenciled. In addition warning marks like “keep upright”, keep from moisture and water”, etc. should also be indicated.

We hope you will find it acceptable and are looking forward to your confirmation.

你方8月31号来函询问我方旅行剪刀的包装，今告知

如下：我们出口的旅行剪刀每盒装一打，每一纸板箱

装100盒。尺码是17公分高，30公分宽，50公分长，

体积约0.026立方米，净重22.5公斤，毛重23.5公斤。

纸箱外的标记，除印刷有毛重、净重及皮重外，还需

印刷有“中华人民共和国制造”字样。如果你方对标记

有何特殊要求，请告知，我们会尽力满足。顺告我们

的剪刀过去一向是用木箱包装的，但经过多次用纸板

箱试装后，发现纸板箱同样适宜于海洋运输，且纸板箱

价格较低，搬运较为轻便，运费也较低廉，所以现在有

更多客户宁愿要纸板箱包装而不要木箱包装。我们相信

你方会同意我们的意见，接受纸板箱包装。

如能早日答复，不胜感激。

In reply to your letter of 31 August inquiring about the packing of our Trip Scissors, we wish to state as below:

Our export Trip Scissors are packed in boxes of one dozen each, 100 boxes to a carton. The dimensions are 17cm high, 30cm wide and 50cm long with a volume of about 0.026 cubic meter. The gross weight is 23.5kg. While the net weight is 22.5kg. As to the shipping marks outside the carton, in addition to the gross, net weights and tare, the wording “MADE IN THE

PEO PLE’S REPUBLIC OF CHINA” is also stencilled on the package. Should you have any special preference in this respect, please let us know and we will meet you to the best of our ability.

Taking this opportunity we would like to inform you that we used to pack our scissors in wooden cases but after several trial shipments in carton packing, we found our cartons just as seaworthy as wooden cases. Besides, cartons are less expensive, lighter to carry and cost lower freight. So, nowadays more and more clients are preferring carton packing to wooden case packing. We trust that you will agree to our opinion and accept our carton packing.

买方承担。请写回信给买方，告知你方已根据中国人民保

险公司1989年1月1日海洋货物运输条款(OMCC)给该批

货物按发票金额的110%投保了一切险。并正开列保险单，

将在下周二将保单寄去。
