1. Name onegreat person you admire most. Why do you admire him or her?
I admire Coanfucius most. As a Chinese, I think weshould
admire Confucius let alone the people who come from western countries.In summary, I admire him more for two reasons.
First, I benefit from hisanalects which have a profound effect on the education cause nowadays. As thedays went on, his sayings including his valuable and meaningful theories aretimeless. Second, I think not only Confucius has lots of knowledge but also hecan apply it to run the country.
From this point of view, he is also a greatsocial activist.
2. Whatinfluence have the great people had on your
work, study and life?
In my point, the society would advance slowlywithout the great people, for example, the bulb would still be a dream withoutEdison (爱迪生) , chairman Mao had not a critical and vitaleffect on the building of the republic of china, maybe we would not leadthe pleasant and Cosy life .etc.
So I think the great people make my workmeaningful and successful and provide a more comfortable and convenientcondtion for our study and life. In a word, the great people have the profoundinfluence on my work study and life.
3. Whatare good manners in your opinion? Exactly speaking, there is not the same piece ofleaf in the word, similarly, in our real life, washing my hands and face beforea meal and still do the same after a meal. Don’t talk in a meal, looking out ofthe windows after taking a long time to read books, magnizes and so on. Don’tmake a noise in the library and so on.
4. What shouldwe do to cultivate good manners in our life?
Rome wasn’t build in a day, and good manners can’tbe formed in several days. So we should cultive good manners with greatpatience and persistence. I think we should be gin with these common trifles. Inour daily life, don’t look down upon them, great success often result from thegradual increasement of things with little importance.
If you always want to cultivategood manners through extraordinary and keep your hands idle, you will losethe chance of cultive good manners.
5. How do youthink high technology, such as the invention of cell phones, computers and theInternet, influence our manners?
It’s beneficial that the invention of cell
phones,computers and the internet make our life more colorful and wonderful. At thesame time, there is no doubt that they have been changing our manners. Some oldmanners are dying out and some new manners which were refused and evencriticized ago are accepted gradually by more and more people. inevitably, theyhave a negative influence more or less on our manners.
6. A few westernholidays like Thanksgiving Day and Mother’s Day are becoming more and morepopular in China. What would you comment on this?
I’m very worried about it. It’s a com mon phenomenonthat a few western holidays are becoming more and more popular in our china. Ithink this is a kind of cultural invasion.
