All the theories and methods of acupuncture are elaborated i n the beginning. If we have a clear understanding of the c ontent and meaning of the first chapter, then we can determ ine the relationship between the Yin and Yang. The three yi n meridians of the hands and feet are the masters of the five zang organs, the three yang meridians of the hands and feet are the masters of the six Fu organs. The pulse Qi of the yang meridians comes from the ends of the limbs, and the pulse Qi of the yin meridians comes from the five Zang organs. Therefore, the cathartic method is to enter t he needle against the direction of the pulse gas to seize its potential; the tonic method is to enter the needle with the direction of the pulse gas to fill its potential. If you know the method of welcoming, nourishing and reducing, you can harmonize the pulse Qi. But if we want to master the method of harmonizing pulse Qi, we must be familiar w ith the meaning and law of yin and Yang, such as five int ernal organs belong to Yin, six internal organs belong to Y ang and so on. In order to spread this theory to the late r generations for the benefit of the people, the learners m ust pledge their blood, treat it seriously and make up thei r mind to study it. Only in this way can it be carried f orward. If we study and use it seriously, we can get good curative effect; otherwise, if we don't pay attention to i
t, we will lose its proper curative effect and even make t his theory die out. If we don't follow the principles put forward by these theories, we will do harm to patients' liv es and cause serious consequences.
