知识点拨：

1. begin v. “开始”过去式为began

如：It’s time to begin work.

The meeting began in the morning.

【注意】begin 的同义词是start; begin后可以跟to do 或 doing; begin with …

以……开始

2. decide v. “决定” decide to do sth 决定做某事

如：My mother decided to buy that coat in the shop.

3. ride v. 骑（车；马等），过去式为rode.

I would like to ride a horse in the park.

n. 骑马、骑车或乘车旅行 We had a long ride in the car.

【注意】go for a ride 去乘（骑……）

4．pick v. 采摘如：Don’t pick the flowers in the garden.

【注意】pick up “拾起；捡起”

He picked up the book on the floor.

Please pick up the paper for me.

5. hurry v. 过去式是hurried.

hurry to do sth 急忙去做某事

The children hurried to open their presents.

n. Take your time – There is no hurry.

in a hurry 急忙地；匆匆忙忙地

6．open adj.敞开的反义词为closed

v. 打开反义词为 close

如：The shop is open. It isn’t closed.

Open the window. Don’t close the window.

7. enter v. 进入如：Please enter the house.

【易错点提醒】enter 相当于come into或go into,故enter后不必再加

into.如：He entered the library just now.

8．once upon a time “从前”常用来放在故事的开头。如：

Once upon a time there was a tiger in the forest.

9. Soon she was lost.不久她迷路了。

be lost “迷路”,也作get lost, lose one’s way. 如：

The little girl was lost/ got lost/ lost her way in the forest.

【注意】lost 为形容词，lose 为动词，它的过去式是lost。

10．She knocked on the door. 她敲了敲门。

knock on the door意为“敲门”，相当于knock at the door.

如：He knocked on/ at the door and he entered.

【注意】knock 后加宾语时须先加介词on/ at. 如：

knock on/ at the window/ desk

11. 规则动词的过去式的变化规律：

(1) 一般在动词词尾加- ed.

eg: walk--walked; listen—listened; rush—rushed

(2) 以字母e结尾的动词后加-d. eg: live-lived; notice-noticed; decide-decided

(3) 以辅音字母加-y结尾的动词，变y为i,再加-ed.

eg: hurry-hurried; carry-carried; cry-cried

(4) 以元音字母加一辅音字母结尾的重读闭音节动词，先双写该辅音字

母，再加-ed.

eg: stop-stopped; shop-shopped; step-stepped

【注意】至于不规则动词的过去式需要特殊记住。（见课本172页）
