现以加拿大海关发票（CANADA CUSTOMS INVOICE）为例，加拿大海关发票是指销往加拿大的出口货物（食品除外）所使用的海关发票。
其栏目用英文、法文两种文字对照，内容繁多，要求每个栏目都要填写，不得留空，若不适用或无该项内容，则必须在该栏目内填写“N/A”（即“NOT APPLICABLE）。

另外，提交进口报关单证之日即货物进口申报之日，应该以日税率计算进口商应付税款。

海关发票有不同的种类，不同的国家使用的海关发票除个 别一些国家使用同一种格式外，其它国家都各不一样。下 面是一些业务上常见的国家的海关发票名称及格式。
1.美国（U.S.A）：使用“Special Customs lnvoice” （特殊海关发票）。其中包括：
（1）FORM 5515 用于服装等一般货物。
(4) 海关发票的签字必须手签，不能盖章。 有的海关发票必须有一证明人签字，也应用手签，
证明人与单据签名者不能为同一人，也不能是其 他货运单据上的签字人。
若中间有更改，不能用盖校正章方法，应用钢笔 在更改处小签。
(5) 证明句子部分必须是以个人名义叙述，不能盖 公司印章。
目前经常使用的有加拿大海关发票。
（2）FORM 5519 用于棉纺织品，但现在已改为 “Textile Ex-port
Licence/Commercial Invoice”。（纺织品出口许可 证/商业发票）。
（3）FORM 5520 即“Specia1 Summary Steel Invoice”（钢铁特殊简易发票），简称“SSSI”，系指 美国为了执行钢铁基准价格制度而为国外出口商制订的一 种特别的进口发票。凡向美国出口钢材时应填具此种发票 格式。
各国格式不同，出口商在使用时，不能搞错格式， 应使用相应国家海关的格式。 (2) 由于海关发票中相关金额是进口国海关征税 的一个依据，为避免被征收反倾销税，必须做到 以本币表示的国内生产价格小于出口价格。

二、美国海关清关流程报关行在收到到货通知（ARRIVAL NOTICE）后,同时具备海关所需文件就可以在预备到港或抵达内陆点五天之内（5 DAYS PRIOR TO ETA）向海关申请通关。
海关通常会在48小时内告知放行与否（海运货）。
空运货会在24小时内告知。

向海关申报的方式有两种第一种是电子申报，报关行将海关需要了解的内容输入美国海关联网（ABI），包括是何种货物和材质，价值，件数，提单和货柜号，提取码头信息等等发给海关，海关如放行，也用ABI通知。
现在绝大多数货物是用电子报关的，这样的做法海关审批得很快，通常在48小时内就会得到得到ABI系统的通知，是否放行（IMMDIATE ENTRY）或需要进一步检查（EX）。
第二种是：海关需要审查书面文件。
在这种情况下，报关行需将所有文件包括进口商的原始文件的原件或复印件送去海关，海关人员在检查书面文件后批阅是否放行或检查（EXAM）。
这种情况下，放行会很慢，来来往往可能在三天左右。
很多精密电子产品以及大多数食品产品，纺织品都是需要送海关文件。
有配额的产品都需要将正本VISA及关税一并交去海关，海关才会放行。
三、美国报关所需文件货物到达美国港口之日起5个工作日内，如果没有延期的许可，必须如期向海关部门提供进口单据。

2.加拿大（Canada）：使用“canada Customs Invoice 加拿大海关发票），简称“CCI”。 加拿大海关发票是指销往加拿大的出口货物 （食品除外）所使用的海关发票。其栏目用英文、 法文两种文字对照，内容繁多，要求每个栏目都要 填写，不得留空，若不适用或无该项内容，则必须 在该栏目内填写“N/A”（即“NOT APPLICABLE）。
