选修课的英语四级作文篇1Should the College Students Choose the Subject by ThemselvesMost courses in universities and colleges today are compulsory, however, there are a few courses that are optional.Despite its small percentage, optional courses have given rise to the question whether college students should choose their courses at their own wills. As far as I am concerned, I think college students should be encouraged to choose courses they are interested in.As the saying goes, "Interest is the best teacher".Students will certainly study more efficiently the subjects they willingly choose than the ones they are forced to choose. What’s more, because the subjects they choose are no longer a burden, they may become more active in the study concerned. So I incline to say that colleges and universities should set up more optional courses for students to choose.选修课的英语四级作文篇2Alongwith the development of our education, today most universities have offeredvarious electives for students to choose and study. However, some people claimthat these elective courses have very little effect on spreading knowledge andstudents’ development because what students concernabout when choosingelectives are so different.Thereare various kinds of reasons for choosing electives and I list some in here.Primarily, the most important and wide factor students concern about is theteachers of the courses. Instead considering the quality of the teacher, or theform or style of the teacher will take or act in the course, they just want tomake sure that the teacher they choose will never keep trace of theirattendance and let them fail in their exams. In addition, a large number ofstudents choose their elective courses aiming to get a high score but neverconsider what they will learn and how to apply to it. What’s worse, somestudents choose their electives j ust they are forced by their schools’institution demand and their score need.Asfar as I am concerned, I advocate that the most important thing we shouldconcern about when choosing electives is our personal interests. The mostworthy meaning for these electives is to broaden our horizon and extend ourknowledge as much as possible and to complement our major and compulsorycourses. Therefore, what electives we choose should be in accordance with ourinterests and our career planning instead of aiming to make high score or passthe exam.选修课的英语四级作文篇3This term our school laid down a new rule about selective court. For the first two weeks, we may sit in as many classes as we like before we decide on which courses to choose. We jumped for joy. The first week I attended classes for four evenings on end and found out that most of the teachers took it serioualy. They were busy in "winning votes" for fear, that later on no one would attend their lectures. For example, the teacher of Modern Literature of Taiwan said,"Actually the first two hours of my lecture were only a prelude. The real contents have not been involved. In the furore, we shall discuss such famous writers as Qiong Yao, Xi Murong, etc, and such famous aetresses as Lin Fengjiao, Lin Qingxia etc. We have lots of vedio-taped films to watch. These are confined only to those who co-major in this court." See, after all, the last sentence is the core of everything he said. The teacher of Appreciation and Critics of Modern Opera said, "We have a variety of contents and the teaching method is changable. For instance, l may choose one act from a play and let you perform it in class. If you do a good job, you can put on the play at the school theater festival. Also, we shall arrange for you to watch current plays. The school is in charge of the traffic and tickets, Of course, only those who co-major this course are eligible." You see, the most important thing comes at last through twists and turns.选修课的英语四级作文篇4In college, every student needs to take optional classes to get enough credits Such as how to keep healthy and business manners.每个大学生都需要上选修课来获得足够的学分。

As a famous country with an ancient civilization, China has experienced for the ruling of the feudal system for thousand of years and with the influence of Confucius Culture. All of these make China form conservative culture system. Courtesy is valued by China since ancient times. Even today people take it for granted. Has the effect of feudal ethics, Chinese people lack of innovation spirit. We don't want to break the routine and do stable work. English paper
Great Expectations
专业工业工程姓名徐佳学号0900601121 成绩Abstract:This paper tends to expatiate my feelings after watching the film << Great Expectations>> and my feeling of the characters. Now I want to share it with you.
It is a great honor for me to be able to spend time reading the famous novel and watching the movie 《Great Expectations》during this semester.
It was written by one of the most illustrious English writer in the 19thCentury ——Charles Dickens, in a quite sarcastic way. And after finishing the whole book, I definitely learned and became aware of lots of things in life. The protagonist, Pip, was once a poor orphan, but he lived a happy life with his kind uncle Joe and some ordinary friends. All his wish was to become a blacksmith in the village. However, as soon as he met and fell in love with Estella by chance, he always compared himself with her, He felt ashamed of his property and foolishness.
Fortunately, he got an opportunity to inherit a fortune and to be well educated as a gentleman. He felt abashed of Joe and even looked down upon his old friends. Nevertheless, after Pip had discovered the unbelievable truth, he gradually woke up to reality and realized his fault. He forgave and saved his enemy, protected and supported his friends and became grateful to Joe. In the end, he gained his love. Shocked and moved, I learned two important things from the novel which would have great effect on my future.
First, it is no use comparing with others blindly. Humans seem to share a common interest in comparing every detail with each other. While it may sound reasonable to some extent that comparison makes progress, I hold a different opinion. As we know, one person differs from another. Everybody has his or her own advantages and shortcomings. Our goal should be improving advantages and rectifying those bad aspects. If we always think that someone is still better than us in some certain areas and waste a lot of time to change ourselve s, we’ll gradually lose our own character.
Comparing with other people is a way with no end, because there is always someone better than us. It can’t make one stand out. On the contrary, it produces numerous people who are all the same, with no particularity, creativity or even a definite view of their own. That would result in a terrible situation. From my perspective, I fully agree on the notion that the only person one should compare with is oneself. As long as we work hard, try our best and make progress day by day, we can surpass ourselves constantly and become not only a better self, but also a real individual!
Second, I got a deep feeling from the novel that we should always be grateful to our parents. They are just like Pip’s uncle Joe and his friends, who have given him love and support which made him a “gentleman”. Pip didn’t appreciate, but despised them because he was having “great expectations”. He was absolutely wrong. Thinking about ourselves, it is our parents who have brought us up, gave us love and encouragement unconditionally. So we should be grateful to them through our lives whatever great
expectations we might have in the future. That is also the basic morality of being not only a successful person, but also a Man.
All the above is what I have learnt from 《Great Expectations》, about how to be a worthy person, and live a meaningful life.。
