As a freshman, the final exam for English is an important task that requires careful preparation and effort. In this essay, I will discuss my experience and strategies for preparing for the final exam.To begin with, I believe that a solid foundation in English grammar is crucial for success in the final exam. Therefore, I have been reviewing grammar rules andpracticing exercises regularly throughout the semester. This includes studying verb tenses, sentence structure, and word order. By understanding and applying these rules correctly, I can ensure that my writing and speaking skills are accurate and coherent. In addition to grammar, vocabulary plays a significant role in language proficiency. To expand my vocabulary, I have been reading extensively in English. This includes books, articles, and online resources. By exposing myselfto different genres and topics, I have not only learned newwords but also improved my comprehension skills. Moreover, I have been keeping a vocabulary notebook to jot down new words and their definitions, which helps me to review and memorize them effectively.Another aspect of the final exam is writing. To enhance my writing skills, I have been practicing various types of essays and compositions. I have focused on improving my organization, coherence, and clarity in expressing ideas. Additionally, I have sought feedback from my English teacher and peers, which has been invaluable in identifying areas for improvement. By revising and editing my work based on the feedback received, I have been able to refine my writing skills and produce better-quality essays.Furthermore, listening and speaking are essential components of language learning. To improve my listening skills, I have been watching English movies and TV series with subtitles. This helps me to understand different accents and improve my listening comprehension. Additionally, I have been participating actively in English conversation clubs and engaging in discussions with nativespeakers. This has boosted my confidence and fluency in speaking English.Lastly, time management is crucial when preparing for the final exam. I have created a study schedule, allocating specific time slots for each aspect of the exam, such as grammar, vocabulary, writing, listening, and speaking. By following this schedule, I can ensure that I cover all the necessary materials and have sufficient time for revision. In conclusion, preparing for the final exam requires a comprehensive approach. By focusing on grammar, vocabulary, writing, listening, and speaking, and managing my time effectively, I believe that I have equipped myself with the necessary skills and knowledge to perform well in the exam. While the final exam can be challenging, I am confidentthat my preparation will pay off and lead to a successful outcome.。

The second semester of my freshman year was a time of significant growth and learning in my English studies. As I delved into the second unit of my English course, I was challenged to expand my language skills and engage with more complex topics and materials. This experience not only enriched my understanding of the English language but also provided me with valuable insights into the cultural and social aspects that shape its usage. One of the key focus areas of this unit was the exploration of various forms of communication and their role in shaping our interactions and understanding of the world around us. We examined the nuances of verbal and nonverbal communication, analyzing how factors such as tone, body language, and cultural context can profoundly influence the meaning and impact of our words. This fostered a deeper appreciation for the complexities of communication and the importance of being attuned to the diverse perspectives and experiences that individuals bring to any given interaction.Additionally, we delved into the realm of mass media and its influence on contemporary society. We critically examined the ways in which traditional and digital media platforms shape public discourse, disseminate information, and contribute to the formation of individual and collective perceptions. This exploration encouraged me to develop a more discerning and critical eye when consuming media, recognizing the potential biases and agendas that may be present in the content we are exposed to.Furthermore, this unit challenged me to engage with complex social and ethical issues through the lens of language and communication. We discussed topics such as the impact of globalization on linguistic diversity, the role of language in shaping identity and cultural expression, and the ethical considerations surrounding the use of language in areas like advertising, politics, and social justice. These discussions not only expanded my understanding of these issues but also encouraged me to think critically about my own position and the ways in which language can be used to both empower and marginalize. One of the most rewarding aspects of this unit was the opportunity to apply my newfound knowledge and skills in practical, real-world contexts. We were tasked with conducting research on a topic of our choice, and then presenting our findings to the class in a clear and compelling manner. This exercise not only honed my research andanalytical skills but also challenged me to effectively communicate complex ideas to a diverse audience. The feedback and insights I received from my peers and instructor were invaluable in helping me refine my communication style and develop a greater awareness of the nuances of effective written and oral expression.Throughout this unit, I was also encouraged to explore the rich diversity of the English language, delving into the historical, cultural, and linguistic factors that have shaped its evolution. We examined the influence of various world regions, social movements, and technological advancements on the development of the English language, gaining a deeper appreciation for its dynamic and ever-changing nature. One particularly fascinating aspect of this exploration was the study of language variation and the ways in which dialects, accents, and colloquialisms can reflect the unique identities and experiences of different communities. This awareness not only broadened my understanding of the English language but also challenged me to approach communication with greater empathy and cultural sensitivity, recognizing that language is not a monolithic entity but rather a reflection of the diverse lived experiences of its users. As I reflect on my experiences in this unit, I am struck by the profound impact it has had on my personal and academic growth. The knowledge and skills I have acquired have not only strengthened my command of the English language but have also equipped me with a more nuanced and sophisticated understanding of the role of communication in shaping our social, cultural, and political landscapes.Moving forward, I am excited to continue exploring the vast and dynamic field of English language studies, delving deeper into the intersections of language, culture, and identity. I am confident that the foundations laid in this unit will serve as a springboard for further learning and growth, as I strive to become an effective, ethical, and culturally aware communicator in an increasingly globalized world.。

Title: The Impact of Technology on Education。

In recent years, technology has profoundly influenced the landscape of education, revolutionizing the way students learn and teachers teach. This essay aims to explore the various impacts of technology on education, covering both its advantages and challenges.First and foremost, technology has made learning more accessible and convenient. With the advent of online courses and educational platforms, students now have the opportunity to access learning materials anytime, anywhere. This flexibility has particularly benefited those who are unable to attend traditional classrooms due to geographical constraints or other commitments. Additionally, digital resources such as e-books, interactive simulations, and educational apps have enriched the learning experience, making complex concepts more engaging and understandable.Furthermore, technology has facilitated personalized learning experiences. Through adaptive learning algorithms, educational software can tailor content and pacing to suit individual student needs, allowing for a more customized approach to education. This personalized feedback loop not only enhances student comprehension but also fosters self-directed learning skills, empowering students to take ownership of their education. Moreover, technology has expanded the horizons of collaborative learning. Virtual classrooms and online discussion forums enable students from diverse backgrounds to interact and collaborate on projects regardless of geographical barriers. This global exchange of ideas promotes cultural understanding and enhances critical thinking skills as students learn to consider perspectives beyond their own. However, despite its numerous benefits, technology in education also presents certain challenges. One major concern is the digital divide, whereby students from disadvantaged backgrounds may lack access to necessarytechnology and high-speed internet connections, thus widening educational inequalities. Bridging this gap requires concerted efforts from policymakers and educators to ensure equitable access to digital resources for all students.Another challenge is the potential for technological distractions in the classroom. The ubiquitous presence of smartphones and other electronic devices can be a source of distraction, detracting from the learning experience and hindering academic performance. Educators must implement strategies to mitigate these distractions, such as establishing clear guidelines for device usage and incorporating interactive technologies purposefully to enhance rather than detract from learning.Additionally, there are concerns about the quality and reliability of online information. With the vast amount of content available on the internet, students must develop critical thinking skills to discern credible sources from misinformation. Educators play a crucial role in teaching digital literacy skills and guiding students in evaluatingthe reliability and validity of online information. In conclusion, technology has revolutionized education in numerous ways, from increasing accessibility and personalization to fostering global collaboration. However, it also presents challenges such as the digital divide, technological distractions, and information overload. By addressing these challenges proactively and harnessing the potential of technology effectively, we can create a more inclusive and innovative educational landscape for the benefit of all students.。

Unit 3Writing Task 1Directions:Some people say winning means being rich, some people say winning means being powerful, and other people say winning means being happy. Please write a paragraph of about 120 words about YOUR understanding of winning.Sample 1Some people say that winning means being rich, some say winning means being powerful, and others think winning means being happy. I think winning means doing what you should do and being good at it.Most of us can only live in this world for no more than 70 or 80 years. We shouldn’t think too much about what we can get from this world. Instead, we should think about what we can leave in this world. The one who can make more contributions to the world is a real winner. For example, cleaning the street is a humble job in many people’s eyes, but in my opinion, street cleaners can also be great winners. They make our city more beautiful. They give us a better environment and consequently a better life. On the contrary, some people make money at the cost of the environment. Some are even worse: They cheat or kill others in order to gain power or earn money. Winners or losers? It’s time to give it a second thought. Writing Task 2Directions: Some people believe that only people who earn a lot of money are successful. Do you agree or disagree? Use specific reasons and examples to support your answer.Sample 2China has a population of over one billion people. The majority of Chinese people are not very rich compared with people in the western countries. In fact, it is a very small percentage of people who hold the status of being wealthy. Does this mean that the vast majority of the Chinese are unsuccessful? The answer to this question is definitely “no”.There are many measures of success, and money is only one of them. However, money is far from the main measure of success. To prove this point, one need only consider the possibility that a man could be wealthy beyond belief, but not regard himself successful. Perhaps, he inherited his money, and has done nothing of value in his life. Perhaps he earned the money by illegal means.Whatever the situation is, it is likely that a rich man could be considered unsuccessful, either by himself, or by others. Many people think that the main measure of success is happiness, rather than material possessions. Without happiness, even a person with a big sum of money, high status would not be successful. However, a low paid schoolteacher might think he was very successful if he derived a great sense of achievement from his teaching . Or perhaps a housewife, who makes no money of her own, would feel successful if she raised a healthy, well-adjusted child and kept her home looking wonderful. It is also important to look at the difference between self-perceived success and one’s success in the eyes of another person.Perhaps the outside world views a man as unsuccessful if he does not have a lot of money, but he views himself as very successful because of his achievements in life. Whose opinion is more important? I believe that if one thinks he is successful, then he is, no matter what other people say.In conclusion, money is not the only measure of success. Anyone can be successful, whether they are rich or poor. What matters is how one views himself; if one is proud of his achievements in life, and feels that he has lived a fulfilling life, he is successful.Unit 4Directions:So far you have learned a lot about how psychology works in different cases. Write a composition entitled “Psychology in Our Life”. Focus your composition on one or two cases so that your writing won’t be too difficult to organize. Your composition should have at least 120 words. Remember to write neatly. You may begin your composition like this:Psychology plays an important role in our daily life…Sample 1Psychology plays an important role in our daily life. Our feelings and attitudes color the way we behave. Confidence is a good example. In reality, a great number of people complain that they are not able to do something or that their difficulties are too great to overcome. In some cases, this may be true. But in other cases, it means that these people allow themselves to get discouraged. For example, a confident man can accomplish many things. If you have confidence, you believe you can do things well. You might not always do as well as you hope, but you will try harder the next time. A man who lacks self-confidence might not be able to complete simple tasks. Without confidence you are likely to be nervous, unsure of yourself and confused about what to do and how to do it. You may think you will fail, so as a result you will not try hard enough. As the old saying goes, where there is a will, there is a way. In other words, if you have the will or the determination to do something, you will always find a way to do it. Having confidence is an important part of our life.Sample 2In our daily life, we often have to buy things. Most of us cannot really distinguish good quality from bad quality. Obviously we can see if an apple is rotten, but we cannot always see if something is well made. What thoughts make us buy things?A woman might decide to buy a particular style of dress because several of her friends choose that style. She wants to be like her friends. A man might decide to buy a particular coat because it is expensive. He thinks that since it is expensive it must be of good quality.A student who has a lot of money might decide to buy a jacket because it was designed by a well-known designer. Wearing a jacket with the designer’s name on it makes him feel important. These are not the logical reasons for buying things, but they explain the motivation behind people’s actions or behavior. It means that psychology or our mental state plays an important role in many aspects of our daily life.Unit 8Directions:Choose one of the topics to writea composition. Remember to write neatly.1.Money in a Student’s Life2.Money and HappinessMoney in Students’ LifeSample 1In students’ life, there are two main things. One is studying, and the other is daily life.In our studies, money is very important and necessary. We must pay the tuition fee to go to college. we want to join in some activities, we have to pay some fees, for example, one Y uan for an hour of computer practice. We also need money to buy reference books. In daily life we spend money on food, clothes and other necessary articles. Sometimes we also spend money on tapes, films, etc. When we spend money we’ll pause and think: “Is it necessary to spend money on it?”At university, we don’t live with our parents, and we have to budget our money by ourselves. We need to know in what cases we must spend it and in what cases we mustn’t.Some students among us think that earning a lot of money is more important than studying. That’s a one-sided view. Knowledge is priceless. Money in a student’s life is not the primary thing we care about.Sample 2Money is important for everybody, so it is for us students. If we don’t have money, we will not be able to study at the university in the first place.Almost everything depends on money. For us, we have to buy food, clothes, books, tapes, stamps, etc. We also have to hand in a lot of money for different courses we are taking, because some of them are not covered by the tuition fees. We have to budget our money; otherwise, we’ll have no money left at the end of the month or of the semester. Many parents give their children money for the whole semester, not money by month, so budgeting is essential. Many students borrow money from their classmates, but are unable to pay it back. Some of the students work part-time in order to relieve the financial burden for their families since their families are not wealthy. But I think this will affect their studies. So it’s better for us to save money so that we can study well.Money and HappinessSample 1Money is very important in our lives. Many people think that when you have money you can be happy. That means if a person is poor, he can never be happy. In my opinion, money is important for food, clothing, shelter and transportation. Without money, we could have done nothing. But that does not mean that only the rich are happy. Rich people are too busy earning more money, so they can not enjoy life. They are constantly worrying about losing their fortune. How can they be happy? On the contrary, if a person is penniless, he has to worry about money all the time, so he won’t be happy either. The really happy person is one who has enough money so that he can do whatever he wants. He is not crazy for money, so he is content with life .Sample2Money is very important. Without money we would have no house to live in, no clothes to wear, no food to eat. If one has no money, one has to work hard to earn money. All one thinks about is how to make money. That makes a person nervous and tired. Certainly, it doesn’t make us feel happy. But if we care about money too much, we’ll become slaves of money. After all, money is not everything. Money can’t buy friendship, respect, etc.If a wealthy person is selfish and has no mercy on others, he will have no friends and will be lonely and unhappy. Happiness means not only comfortable living conditions but also mental satisfaction. I think, only those who don’t have to worry about money and can spend money on others easily are really happy.。

As I enter the second semester of my freshman year, I find myself reflecting on the evolution of my English writing skills. Initially, the prospect of composing essays in a foreign language filled me with trepidation. However, through consistent practice and the guidance of my professors, I have gradually overcome my apprehensions and begun to develop a sense of confidence in my writing abilities. One of the most significant challenges I have encountered is the intricacies of grammar and syntax. The subtle nuances of English grammar can be daunting, particularly for non-native speakers. I have found that dedicating time to studying grammar rules and practicing exercises has been instrumental in improving my sentence structure and accuracy. Additionally, the regular reading of English literature has provided me with invaluableexposure to grammar in context.Furthermore, I have come to appreciate the importance of vocabulary expansion. A comprehensive vocabulary enables me to express my ideas with precision and eloquence. I have set aside time each day to learn new words and phrases through flashcards, reading, and online resources. My vocabulary growth has not only enhanced my writing but also my overall comprehension of English texts.Another aspect of essay writing that has required significant effort is the development of a strong thesis statement. A well-crafted thesis statement serves as the foundation of an essay, providing a clear roadmap for the reader. Initially, I struggled to articulate my arguments succinctly and persuasively. However, with practice and feedback from my professors, I have become more proficient in crafting thesis statements that effectively convey my main points. In addition to the technical aspects of writing, I have also given considerable thought to the content andorganization of my essays. I find that brainstorming my ideas in advance helps me to structure my thoughts and identify the most effective way to present my arguments. Additionally, I have learned the importance of transitionsto ensure a smooth flow of ideas throughout my essays. While the journey to improve my English writing skills has been challenging, it has also been incredibly rewarding.I have gained a deeper understanding of the English language and developed a greater appreciation for the power of words. As I progress through my academic career, I am confident that my writing abilities will continue to grow and evolve, empowering me to effectively communicate my ideas and perspectives.

How time flies! A semester is almost over in a twinkling of an eye. I learned a lot, but there have some shortcomings. Now I will summarize my study status of this semester as follows:Let's start with the advantages! Raise your hand in class, do not whisper. If you have questions that you do not understand, you will ask the teacher in time until you understand them. Therefore, my grades in all subjects are relatively stable. Of course, I have to continue to work hard refueling! Don't be complacent.Talk about my shortcomings again. Sometimes not homework to the teacher; do small actions in class, sit still; and fight with classmates after class.I decided to get rid of these problems in the future and be an excellent student. I can also give some suggestions to the students: in order to reduce the pressure, try to let their mother report less extracurricular remedial classes or interest classes. Because, I used academic performance is particularly good, can be said to be outstanding in our class. However, there was a time to step back. It was because my mother gave me too many remedial classes, after finding the reason forthis result, my mother gave me some extracurricular tutoring. Soon, my grades came up again. As the saying goes: “Without experiencing the wind and rain, how can we see the rainbow.”Learning is a long process, on the road of learning, you will certainly experience some setbacks, as long as you work hard, you will certainly get good results.。

English Response:During my first semester in college, I encountered some really tough times that left me feeling utterly miserable. It was a rollercoaster ride of emotions, and let me tell you, it was no walk in the park. One of the major challenges I faced was adapting to the rigorous academic demands. The transition from high school to college was more daunting than I had anticipated. Suddenly, I found myself bombarded with assignments, readings, and exams. It felt like I was drowning in a sea of deadlines and expectations. For example, I vividly remember my first calculus exam.I had always been decent at math in high school, but college-level calculus was a whole different ball game. Despite spending countless hours studying and seeking help from tutors, I still struggled to grasp some of the concepts. When the exam day arrived, I felt woefully unprepared. Needless to say, my grade reflected my lack of understanding, and it was a harsh wake-up call.On top of the academic pressure, I also had to navigate the complexities of social life in college. Making friends wasn't as easy as I had hoped. I often felt like I didn't quite fit in with any particular group, which left me feeling isolated and alone.Furthermore, the newfound freedom of college life was both exhilarating and overwhelming. Suddenly, I had the autonomy to make my own decisions without parental supervision. But with great freedom comes great responsibility, as they say. I struggled to find the right balance between academics, extracurricular activities, and personal time.Despite all the challenges, I refused to let myself be defeated. I sought support from professors, classmates, and campus resources like tutoring centers and counseling services. Slowly but surely, things started to look up. I began to develop effective study habits, forged meaningful connections with peers, and found activities that brought me joy outside of academics.Looking back, that first semester was undoubtedly one of the toughest periods of my life. But it was also a valuable learning experience that taught me resilience, perseverance, and the importance of seeking help when needed. It laid the foundation for my growth and success throughout the rest of my college journey.

During the second semester of my freshman year, I engaged in various activities that helped me grow and develop as a student. One of the most memorable experiences was participating in a debate competition organized by the English department. I was assigned the topic of climate change and had to argue in favor of stricter regulations to combat this global issue.Researching for the debate opened my eyes to the severity of the situation and the urgent need for action. I learned about the impact of climate change on the environment, economy, and human health. Armed with this knowledge, I was able to construct strong arguments and counterarguments to present during the debate. On the day of the competition, I felt both nervous and excited. As I stood in front of the audience, I felt a rushof adrenaline as I delivered my points confidently and persuasively. The back-and-forth exchange with the opposing team challenged my critical thinking skills and ability to think on my feet.In the end, our team emerged victorious, but the real prize was the experience and knowledge gained during the process. I realized the power of effective communication and the importance of being well-informed on global issues.Overall, the debate competition was a transformative experience that pushed me out of my comfort zone and helped me grow as a student and individual. I look forward to participating in more challenging activities in the future to continue my personal and academic development.。

In recent years, more and more people, old or young, rich or poor, like to keep a pet such as a dog, a cat, a monkey and so on.Pets are loved by people. They not only are good friends to their masters but also become members of the family. Although they are not human beings, their behavior sometimes is better than the human beings, for they always remain obedient and loyal to the master. There are many stories in which we are told that a pet saved his or her master's life or even traveled thousands of miles to return home. This makes them more lovely. Moreover, trained pets are very helpful. For instance, a trained dog can help the blind to walk and a trained pig can even find out drugs from the imports goods. But pets are sometimes trouble-makers. Some pets such as dogs or snakes may attack people unexpectedly. A lot of people become ill or get infected because of the virus carried hy their pets. And some pets are dirty and poisonous. Therefore, we do not advocate keeping pets.4 赚钱条件How To Make Money With LessIt is a fact that money does not come from trees. People have to earn it and it doesn't have to be working in an office every time. This can happen by simply having a desktop or laptop with an Internet connection then getting paid for certain services. Here are some great ideas that won't cost the entrepreneur that much to get started.A very good example is answering some surveys. There was a time that companies would call people to come to the office to answer a questions. Those that didn't have the budget for this will do this over the phone. In order to get more respondents, firms have decided to work with market research firms to conduct online surveys. Respondents are paid after completing the questionnaire. The payment varies so this could be as small as a dollar to something higher like twenty dollars. Those who would like to speak out can earn money by posting a blog. The person doesn't get paid to write something here but earns revenue through advertisements that people would like to put up in the site.Something similar to blogging is being an affiliate. Here, the person allows the major search engines to put up ads in exchange for sales commission for every item that was purchased. If the individual is creative, money can also be made by creating a website. The entrepreneur can sell items through the Internet or auction off items that others would like to part with. Not everyone is good with computers. Those who are should take advantage of this by offering consultancy services to those who need help. The person can charge by the hour or per web page if this is the what the client wants. It is also possible to charge extra for the assistance rendered in maintaining the site.People who have a little money to spare can invest in the stock market or in the foreign exchange market. Most of the investments are here long term. Those who have never done this before should get help from an online broker to learn the ropes and the tricks of the trade.Network marketing is also another way to make money online. The person will recruit people to do the selling and then earn commission for each sales that was made. This isn't easy and the first challenge will be to turn the customer into an agent which all begins by working with an email list.It will also be good idea to sell some of these items directly to the consumer. This is because the people that were hired may not always do a good job, which may also affect the commissions coming at the end of every month. There are other ways of making money through the web and this requires both creativity and patience. It may seem difficult during the first few months but those who are able to get the hang of things may pursue this full time instead of the regular day job.It always pays to do some research first in order to balance the risks. If the potential of making enough money is high, then the entrepreneur should go for it. There is money out there. The person can invest a lot or spend on the same thing for less.5 校园暴力School is not only a place we can learn something, but also is a small society."School videncen"is a popular word in the school during this years. And school videncen have many influence for us too. Many of us suffer form bully of school-bullies nowadays. So,boycott school videncen is what everyone in school should do.Teachers should have a sense of responsibility and carefully found the things which happened in your students and then timely educate and protect them.As we should have a sense of justive and also have a heart of fighting against with evil.Don't be feared,it just like a spring, you weak it will strong, you strong it will weak.I think if we unite together to fight against with evil. The school will peace and harmonious again!。
