A graphic designer?
Would you like to be a graphic designer? Do you like looking at photographs and pictures? Are you creative? Do you like using computers? Then, maybe a course in graphic design at Park Hill Graphic Design College is for you.
So, what is graphic design?
Graphic design is a form of visual communication. It is when visual information is given to help to communicate a message. There are different kinds of graphic design around us everywhere in our busy lives. Think about the kind of graphic design which is around you now.
Have you ever seen a website or magazine and thought about ways of making it look better? Have you ever thought that certain colors don’t look good together? Have you ever had a better idea for the sign on a shop or an advert on the side of a bus? Maybe you’ve thought about how to make the packaging for food more interesting? These are all things that you could do in the future after studying with us at Park Hill Graphic Design College.
How to be a good designer?
Good designers need to have good ideas. The ideas can then be made into images. These can then be changed and developed in many different ways until the best design is created.
Have you ever heard of Adobe in Design, Macromedia Dreamweaver, Fireworks and Flash? You will need to learn how to use some of these to help with design. In the past, many graphic designers had to draw their designs. Now, most graphic designers use computers for their design work.
So, if you are interested in a job as a graphic designer in the future, then contact Park Hill Graphic Design College now.

阅读下面的短文,根据其内容回答问题。
Is n’t the hi-tech communication supposed to help us keep in touch with each other more easily? Sadly, that is not always the case. Take the other day for example, when I was walking through the park with my friend, suddenly his cell phone rang and he answered it ignoring me and cutting our conversation off! In fact, the park was filled with people talking on their cell phones. They were passing other people without even looking at them. It was clear that the voice
on the cell phone was preferable to human contact.
Why is it that the more connected we get, the more disconnected I feel? Every advance in communication technology seems to keep people from human contact. With e-mail over the Internet, we can now communicate without seeing or talking to one another. With voice mail, you can have conversations without even meeting that person.
Don’t get me wrong. I'm not against machines. I also own a cell phone, a voice mail system and an e-mail account. Giving them up isn't a good idea, as they are useful to have around. It's just that when they keep us away from human contact, I begin to feel sad. More and more, I find myself answering e-mails instead of talking to people. The technology that was made to help keep us in contact with each other is, in fact, making me lonelier.
What is to be done? Well, I've made myself a technology restriction (限制) plan: no e-mailing people who live near me, no using my cell phone when I’m with friends, and no letting the voice mail pick up when I’m at home. I mean, what good are all these hi-tech things, if there’s no one in the room to hear you say “Hi there!”?
1. According to the passage, which do people prefer, human contact or hi-tech communication?
__________________________________________________________
2. List all the types of hi-tech communication mentioned in the text.
__________________________________________________________
3. Why does the writer make himself a technology restriction plan?
__________________________________________________________
答案
1. Hi-tech communication.
2. Cell phone, voice mail, and e-mail.
3. Because he thinks sometimes technology keeps him away from human contact and makes
him feel lonelier.
