A. Use business recordingsB. Speak slowly and clearlyC. Learn telephone mannersD. Practice often with a friendE. Always be considerate of your friendsF. Make sure you understand the other speakerTelephone tipsIf the phone rings and someone speaks in English, don’t be afraid to answer it! The fear of talking on the phone in a second language will disappear if you practice often. Here are a few tips for helping you improve your ability to answer a call in English. 1._______________Listening to someone speaking in a second language over the telephone can be very challenging because you cannot see the person you are trying to hear. However, it may be even more difficult for the person you are talking with to understand you. You may not realize that your pronunciation isn’t clear because your teacher and fellow students know and understand you. Pay special attention to your weak areas of your pronunciation when you are on the phone.2._______________Don’t pretend to understand everything you hear over the telephone. Even native speakers ask each other to repeat and confirm information from time to time. This is especially important if you are taking a message for someone else. Learn the appropriate expressions that English speakers use when they don’t hear something properly. Don’t be afraid to remind the person to slow down more than once. Keep your telephone in an area that is away from other noise distractions such as a radio or television.3._______________.Ask another student to practice talking on the phone with you. You might choose one night a week and take turns phoning each other at a certain time. Try to talk for at least fifteen minutes. You can talk socially, or role play different scenarios in a business environment. The most important thing about practicing telephone English is that you are not able to see each other’s mouths.4. _______________.There are many ways to get free telephone English practice. After business hours, you can call and listen to recorded messages. Write down what you hear the first time, and then call back and check if your notes are accurate. Make sure you have a pen handy so that you can repeat the information and check your comprehension.5._______________.The way that you speak to your best friend on the phone is very different from theway you should speak to someone in a business setting. Many speakers make the mistake of being too direct on the telephone. It is possible that the person on the other line will think that you are being rude on purpose if you don’t use formal language in certain situations. Sometimes just one word such as could or may is necessary in order to sound polite. Take the time to learn how to answer the phone and say goodbye in a polite manner, as well as all the various waysone can start and end a conversation casually.Listening to someone on the telephone is like listening to a taped recording in class. The only difference is that you have to talk back! Follow the tips above and remember that practice makes perfect!BFDAC。

(整理版高中英语)高考英语信息匹配训练题(2)及答案

省高考英语信息匹配训练题〔2〕及答案信息匹配----任务型读写(共10小题;每题1分,总分值10分)The teacher-student relationship is very important for children.Children spend approximately 5 to 7 hours a day with a teacher for almost 10 months. We ask ourselves what is considered a good teacher? All of us have gone through schooling, and,if fortunate,we had a favorite teacher.A positive relationship between the student and the teacher is difficult to establish, but it can be found for both individuals at either end.The qualities for a positive relationship can vary from setting a learning experience approachable to inviting the students to learn.A teacher and student who have the qualities of good communications, respect in a classroom, and show interest in teaching from the point of view of the teacher and learning from a student will establish a positive relationship in the classroom.Children have different strategies for learning and achieving their goals.A few students in a classroom will grasp and learn quickly, but at the same time there will be those who have to be repeatedly taught using different techniques for the student to be able to understand the lesson. On the other hand, there are those students who fool around and use school as entertainment.Teaching then becomes difficult, especially if ,teachers, creating a positive relationship with their students, will not necessarily control of all the students. The key is that teachers need to monitor their students in order to be aware of any difficulties they are having.Understanding their problem, fear,or confusion will give the teacher a better understanding their learning difficulties.Once the teacher becomes aware of the problems,he or she will have more patience with the students, thus making them feel secure or less confused when learning is taking place in the classroom. The communication between the student and the teacher serves as a connection between the two, which provides a better atmosphere for a classroom environment.Of course a teacher is not going to understand every problem for every child in his or her classroom, but will acquire enough information for those students who are struggling with specific tasks.A significant body of research indicates that academicachievement and student behavior are influenced by the quality of the teacher and astudent relationship. The more the teacher connects or communicates with his or her students, the more likely they will be able to help students learn at a high level and accomplish quickly. The teacher needs to understand that in many schools, for example,in big cities like Los Angeles, children come from different cultures.A teacher then needs to understand the value of the students’ senses of belonging, which can be of greater value and build self worth for minority students. If the teacher expresses an understanding of the student’s culture,it will provide a better understanding between the teacher and the student.Though there are students who have a difficult time in school but shouting should not be the solution for children who find education a difficult process or simply lack of learning experiences, but sometimes teachers mistakingly believe shouting at the child to be the only quick solution. Therefore, those teachers who show respect towards their students, automatically win favor by having active learners in their classroom.Unqualified teachers will lack these positive qualities due to his or her lack of control over the children.Teachers should show to their students that they should also be treated with respect and their responsibilities to ensure that students treat each other with kindness.3 6.答案:qualities [归纳概括题,下表说明了好的关系应具有的品质。

A. A sense of humor is not an inborn ability.B. A sense of humor can be developed in our life.C. A sense of humor helps us from several aspects.D. A sense of humor means more than telling jokes.E. A sense of humor can be expressed in many ways.F. A sense of humor helps people to better enjoy life.1._____ As awareness of the benefits of humor increases, most of us want to get all the laughs we can. It seems that almost every day there is another new discovery about the power of humor to help us physically, mentally, emotionally, and spiritually. Every system of the body responds to laughter in some important or positive way.2. _____ Many people mistakenly believe that we are born with a sense of humor. They think that when it comes to a sense of humor, “either you’ve got it or you don’t.” This is false. What is true, however, is that the ability to laugh and smile is actually something we are born with. For example, we laugh when we are tickled under the arm, even without thinking about how to react.3. _____ The parts of the brain and central nervous system that control laughing and smiling are mature at birth in human infants, but that is not the same thing as having a sense of humor. (After all, when a baby laughs in his small bed we don’t rush over and say, “That kid has a great sense of humor.”) Your sense of humor is something you can develop over a lifetime. Don’t be nervous before others and try to laugh at yourself—then you will make them laugh too.4._____ Humor includes a lot more than laughing and joke telling. Many people worry needlessly that they do not have a good sense of humor because they are not good joke tellers. More than jokes, a sense of humor requires being willing and able to see the funny side of life’s situations as they happen. In fact, one of the best definition of a sense of humor is “the ability to see the nonserious element in a situation”.5._____ There may be a thousand different ways to express your sense of humor, but joke telling is only one of those ways. As more is discovered about how humor benefits our life, more people will be able to see and enjoy the humor when they are in a difficult situation. Life depends on air, food and water, but it is made easier to live with a good sense of humor.CABDF。

新教材2024届高考英语二轮专项分层特训卷第一部分专题强化练专题二阅读七选五强化训练十五逻辑推断法

强化训练十五逻辑推断法(A)In 2013, digital media consultant Baratunde Thurston launched an experiment. He decided to disconnect from his online life for twentyfive days: no Facebook, no Twitter, not even email. He needed the break. __1__It didn't take him long to adjust to a disconnected life. By the end of that first week, he was less stressed about not knowing new things. __2__ He enjoyed food without Twittering the experience. But the end came too soon. After the twentyfive days, he had to restore his online presence. His experiment summarizes two important points about our relationship with social networks like Facebook and Twitter. The first point is that we increasingly recognize that these tools fragment (碎裂) our time and reduce our ability to concentrate. __3__ But the problem is especially serious if you're attempting to improve your ability to work deeply. To fight back against these distractions, Thurston felt his only option was to quit the Internet altogether. But the problem is that no one is meant to actually follow Thurston's lead.__4__ That is to accept our current distracted state as unavoidable. This brings me to the second point summarized by Thurston's story: it didn't take him long once the experiment ended to slide back into the fragmented state where he began. This rule proposes a third option: accepting that these tools might be vital to your success and happiness, but meanwhile accepting that most people should be using fewer such tools. I won't ask you, in other words, to quit the Internet altogether like Thurston did. __5__ There is a middle ground, and if you're to develop a deep work habit, you must fight to get there.A.He struck up conversations with strangers.B.It is a real problem for many different people.C.“I was burnt out, fried, and done,” he explained.D.This reality accounts for the remaining alternative.E.He had to return to the online world with books to market.F.But I'll ask you to reject the state of highly distracted connectedness.G.Fortunately, you will break the habit of surfing the Internet gradually.[答题区]1.________ 2.________ 3.________ 4.________ 5.________(B)Want a relaxing but fun challenge at home? __1__ Puzzles have been around for more than 250 years and the challenge of working out where each piece goes and carefully recreating the scene on the box lid can keep you busy for hours, days or even weeks.Puzzles come in a huge range of sizes and difficulty levels. For beginners, a 100piece puzzle is usually a good starting point. __2__ Try grouping pieces with the same colours or designs because they will probably go in the same area oncethe puzzle takes shape.__3__ Those pieces are easier to find because they have a straightside. Stay patient as you search through and try to make it fit together. You maynot find any connecting pieces for ages but then several may suddenly appear. For a real test, puzzles that have 1,000 pieces or more are a tough taskand it's best to complete them with friends or family if you can. Choosing a scenethat interests you, such as a favourite film, sport or location, can help keep you interested and determined to work to the final piece. You can get fun educational puzzles, too. __4__Some of the best places to pick up puzzles are charity shops. They're oftenon sale for less than $5. Once you have completed a puzzle, it's nice to exchangeit with a friend. __5__ You just upload an image, such as a familyscene, and they will make a puzzle from it and post it to you. It makes a lovelyand unusual present.A.So others can have a go.B.You can't beat a good puzzle.C.Some companies make personalised puzzles.D.However, a good start doesn't always lead to a good result.E.Most people like to start by getting the four edges of a puzzle laid out.F.It can get you used to sorting out how the shapes, patterns and coloursgo together.G.For example, you may try a map of the world, historical timelines or theperiodic table.[答题区]1.________ 2.________ 3.________ 4.________ 5.________(C)The arrival of autumn has left me charmed once again by its generous harvestof pomegranates (石榴). While pomegranate juice had always been a favourite of mine, for a long time, I couldn't say the same for the actual fruit. __1__ How couldanyone possibly take pleasure in eating that? But by chance, I changed my mind.A handful of small pomegranate trees grow just outside the gate of myhusband's family home in rural Zhejiang. __2__ So one autumn, mymotherinlaw gave me and my husband a bag filled with pomegranates she had pickedherself. At first, I rejected the seemingly burdensome pile of fruit on ourdinner table. __3__ He continued to bite on pomegranates and offerme a taste of the seeds, and eventually curiosity won. I popped a handful in my mouth, and found myself surprised in the best possible way.The seeds were filled with that familiar rich and sweet flavour. __4__ Moreover, it was superior to anything I had encountered in liquid form. Later,I'm always fascinated to discover the many locales in China also touched by the sweet pleasures of the pomegranate.__5__ At that time in my life, moving around left me toomuch stress, which usually left me with the discomfort of a nervous stomach. Butamong the many health benefits of the pomegranate is that it can naturally improve digestion. Regular consumption of the fruit had comforted my gut (肠道) so much. If you've yet to be addicted to the delights of the pomegranate, it's not too late to try.A.One taste turned me into a lifelong fan just like that.B.I had thought it's a bunch of soft and juicy little seeds.C.The branches are overhanging with the fruit every fall.D.My husband still attempted to persuade me to take a bite.E.It's the season's finest freshlysqueezed juice from the fruit.F.The healing properties of the fruit I experienced added to its charm.G.That was the same taste I had come to treasure about pomegranate juice.[答题区]1.________ 2.________ 3.________ 4.________ 5.________强化训练十五逻辑推断法(A)【语篇解读】本文是一篇说明文。

1. Parents need to watch the time their kids spend on computer or video games.2. The effect of playing computer or video games on a child is different but it isthere.3. Computer or video games do affect children’s social development because theyare not playing in reality.4. If you have heard of online gaming, then you know video games can affect socialdevelopment in a good way.5. I’m living proof that computer or video games won’t do harm to kids.A. For a lot of children, computers and video games are just an escape from reality, taking them away from real life for a while, replacing a stressful or boring environment with sights and sounds kids could only imagine before. They have the ability of entertaining people’s minds while drawing in the whole attention away from real life. So the result will be like this: whenever a child can’t handle problems in real life, he might just turn to computer games.B. Reading Tom Sawyer or Harry Porter is as personal an act as playing an onlinegame or even more personal than playing an online or two-player game. I’ve rarely seen two people happily reading ONE book together. But when kids play online games they need to work together and it encourages the development of social skills.C. Many results can occur from playing video games, from feeling abandoned andbecoming addicted to getting better in touch with what other students are doing.Th e question here is whether or not video games affect a child’s development, not if it is good or bad. Anything that you interact with is going to have an effect on your development.D. People blame the computer and videos, because it is an easy target to hit. Ifyou really wanna look at people being lonely, look at the school system, where teachers could easily fix the problem by doing more group work with him/her choosing the students for the group. I mean, I could play outside by myself and still be lon ely. There isn’t a difference.E. I do believe our children’s development is affected by computers and video gameplay if too much time is spent because that’s time that a child used to be playingoutside with other children. I think that some computer work is good because it trains the brain in new patterns, but time on the computer need to be limited and playing outside should be encouraged.F. I am 6 feet 2 inches, 185 lbs, all muscle. I’m one of the most popular students and I’ve had a constant 30+ hour s of video games since I was in third grade. I played baseball all my life until high school, and still managed up to 40+ hours of video games. I am around the 80th position in my grade and have received many honors. So it’s not necessary that computer games affect a kid’s development in a bad way. It simply depends on how much exactly one plays, and how one manages their time.1. E。

信息匹配\七选五\六选五(2013·北京卷)UrbanizationUntil relatively recently, the vast majority of human beings lived and died without ever seeing a city. The first city was probably founded no more than 5,500 years ago. 71 In fact, nearly everyone lived on farms or in tiny rural(乡村的)villages. It was not until the 20th century that Great Britain became the first urban society in history—a society in which the majority of people live in cities and do not farm for a living.Britain was only the beginning.72The process of urbanization—the migration(迁徙)of people from the countryside to the city—was the result of modernization, which has rapidly transformed how people live and where they live.In 1900,fewer than 40% of Americans lived in urban areas. Today, over 82% of Americans live in cities. Only about 2% live on farms. 73Large cities were impossible until agriculture became industrialized. Even in advanced agricultural societies, it took about ninety-five people on farms to feed five people in cities. 74 Until modern times, those living in cities were mainly the ruling elite(精英)and the servants, laborers and professionals who served them. Cities survived by taxing farmers and were limited in size by the amount of surplus food that the rural population produced and by the ability to move this surplus from farm to city.Over the past two centuries, the Industrial Revolution has broken this balance between the city and the country. 75 Today, instead of needing ninety-five farmers to feed five city people, one American farmer is able to feed more than a hundred non-farmers.A. That kept cities very small.B. The rest live in small towns.C. The effects of urban living on people should be considered.D. Soon many other industrial nations became urban societies.E. But even 200 years ago, only a few people could live in cities.F. Modernization drew people to the cities and made farmers more productive.G. Modern cities have destroyed social relations and the health of human beings. 【文章大意】文章主要讲述了都市化发展。

二阅读下面的短文,根据其内容回答问题。
Is n’t the hi-tech communication supposed to help us keep in touch with each other more easily? Sadly, that is not always the case. Take the other day for example, when I was walking through the park with my friend, suddenly his cell phone rang and he answered it ignoring me and cutting our conversation off! In fact, the park was filled with people talking on their cell phones. They were passing other people without even looking at them. It was clear that the voiceon the cell phone was preferable to human contact. Why is it that the more connected we get, the more disconnected I feel? Every advance in communication technology seems to keep people from human contact. With e-mail over the Internet, we can now communicate without seeing or talking to one another. With voice mail, you can have conversations without even meeting that person.Don’t get me wrong. I'm not against machines. I also own a cell phone, a voice mail system and an e-mail account. Giving them up isn't a good idea, as they are useful to have around. It's just that when they keep us away from human contact, I begin to feel sad. More and more, I find myself answering e-mails instead of talking to people. The technology that was made to help keep us in contact with each other is, in fact, making me lonelier. What is to be done? Well, I've made myself a technology restriction (限制) plan: no e-mailing people who live near me, no using my cell phone when I’m with friends, and no letting the voice mail pick up when I’m at home. I mean, what good are all these hi-tech things, if there’s no one in the room to hear you say “Hi there!”?1. According to the passage, which do people prefer, human contact or hi-tech communication?__________________________________________________________2. List all the types of hi-tech communication mentioned in the text.__________________________________________________________3. Why does the writer make himself a technology restriction plan?__________________________________________________________答案1. Hi-tech communication.2. Cell phone, voice mail, and e-mail.3. Because he thinks sometimes technology keeps him away from human contact and makeshim feel lonelier.1.题干关键词:prefer;出处:第一段In fact, the park was filled with people talking on their cellphones.
